A Refugee's Monologue

We were a family that lived in the valley,
Amid the houses wrapped in peace and serenity,
Whose structures took bath at every night,
In the glow of moon and stars, contentment overflowed
As fragrance brims over the walls
Of the rose garden on the wings of breeze,
And life went on with the smooth gait.

Then time encroached,
Men with uniform and big boots
Knocked at the doors of the dwellers,
Compelled us to vacate the valley,
Now we are in the refugees' camp
Pant between life and death
The distress of three million men,
Women and children makes me worried,
We spend nights sleepless.

Lo! U.N.O's vehicle comes with the contents of food,
They all rush to grab the opportunity,
They grapple on each appearance of bag of flour or sugar,
And spoil the matter by pouring down,
Lo! Who moves away proud of his achievement,
With a bag of flour on his shoulder.

I Was Shot

It was night,
The whole nation was in freight,
For starvation prevailed over
Each nook and corner.

I went out with an empty pocket
And a blank bag,
To manage commodities for my own kids,
And walked timidly
Through the lanes and lawns,
I came across men and women
With harrowed pallid faces,
There was stifling in the airs
As if something had rotten
Beneath the crust of time.

I advanced through the streets
To seek an opportunity,
A chance to carry out my intents:
The maiden adventure.

I saw the houses big and small,
But the doors were shut,
At some spots I saw the guards
Watching at the gates with guns.

I found a mansion with the walls
Neither too high nor too small,
Inner contents of the house were visible
And the watchman seemed to be dozing,
In the chair with the mozer in his lap.

I quailing my strength and courage,
Jumped over the bordering wall,
And I stealthily went ahead through
The plants and flowering shrubs;
All the time caring lest sound should disturb
The sleeping indwellers.

I made a sudden survey,
And my eyes located the kitchen,
A place of treasure, it was simply bolted,
Merely hooked with out any lock.

I with making a noise least
Searched for the containers
Containing the precious articles,
And discovered many of them empty.

I found a tin-box with a little quantity of flour,
No more than kilo two and a half,
And a bag of sugar laid beside.
I turned up the tin-box,
Poured the flour into my own bag,
And carried along the packed sugar too.

I moved back and strove to leap over the wall,
But my legs staggered
As if they began to revolt against my wills;
In the effort I fell and thump awoke the guard,
He pointed his mozer and fired twice, “Bang, bang”,
One shot hit in the shank of my leg,
I lay on the ground,
Gripping the targeted spot tight,
The piercing pain of the shot woke me up,
I found myself on the floor, instead of in the bed,
But I was holding my leg tight.

Peace In The Valley

Well, I'm tired and so weary
But I must go along
Till the Lord comes and calls me away
Where the morning's so bright
And the Lamb is the light
And the night, night is as fair as the day.
There will be peace in the valley
For me some day
There will be peace in the valley
For me, Oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness
No sorrow, no trouble I see
There will be peace
In the valley for me.
Well, the flowers will be blooming
And the grass will be green
And the skies will be clear and serene
Where the sun ever beams
In this valley of dreams
And no cloud will be seen.
There will be peace in the valley
For me some day
There will be peace in the valley
For me, Oh Lord. I pray
There'll be no sadness
No sorrow, no trouble I see
There will be peace
In the valley for me.
Well, the bear will be gentle
And the wolf will be tame
And the lion shall lay down
By the lamb, oh
And the beasts from the wild
Shall be led by a child
And I'll be changed,
Changed from this creature that I am.
There will be peace in the valley
For me some day
There will be peace in the valley
For me, Oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness
No sorrow, no trouble I see
There will be peace
In the valley for me...

Mountain Woman

They lived together in a dirty old shack
At the edge of the black rocky mountain
And they drank mountain dew and they lived on the food
That they grew at the side of the mountain
Shes a mountain woman, hes her mountain man
They [? ] down the valley
Shes a mountain woman, hes her mountain man
Uneducated but theyre happy
Mountain woman couldnt read nor write
But she knew good from evil, she know wrong from right
When the government tried to buy her water rights
Her intuition was her only guide
Shes a mountain woman, hes her mountain man
They [? ] by the valley
Shes a mountain woman, hes her mountain man
Uneducated but theyre happy
Spend my life with my mountain woman
Were uneducated by were happy
The civil servant used compulsory purchase
To acquire the [? ] for the nation
Theyll dig up the land, theyre gonna make a dam
And build a hydroelectric power station
And now she lives on the 33rd floor
Of a man-made concrete mountain
She got an elevator and refrigerator
And an automobile to run around in
Fast talkin lawyers from the government
Went and beat proud mountain woman down
Hey mountain woman, take your mountain man
They took your land and flood your valley
Spend my life with my mountain woman
Theyre uneducated by theyre happy

What Makes Life Miserable!

What makes our life miserable?
Is it foot habits, or thought’s trouble?
Unhygienic food, sleepless nights or tiresome life
Or poverty, undernourishment or life riddled with strife

Even tree leaves fall in due process
Any business may fail if have no good access
Life may even end if not provided happiness
No shine can appear simply on face

Some of the good things can happen with little care
Addiction to any bad things can lead us no where
It will not only spoil good health but lave no room to spare
Death will be hastened and put whole family to scare

We have seen disastrous results from polluted air
It may have slow poison effect even on hair
The deadly smoke from puffs may dull the lungs
Life will be imbalanced and simply hung

All habits are good for leading a descent way
That may help you to stay within and not drag you away
Reasonable accommodation with good behavior is lovely example
Happy leading and joyous life can make it memorable

You be addicts to natural things
Think of birds with strong wings
Look at sky and stars with their greatness
How much good feeling we have at their vastness

We should not limit or curtail ourselves
Attempt should not be made to aggravate the health with stress
What would happen if you remain addiction free?
Life will grow with all green branches like tree

Not only life will be made comfortable to family members
Your contribution and care will be remembered
Addiction may not only spoil the cord of family bond
But dry up every resources that is within like pond

The Valley Of Anchor

To uncover her nakedness like a sweet lover on the bed of roses,
But to come up out of her grave like bat out of hell!
I am in the valley of anchor to share my views with you.
I have tiome to uncover her nakedness,
I have the joy to share her love;
But the muse that muses is all that i share with you as well.

To come up out of her grave like a bat out of hell,
With te valley of anchor to share my mind with you;
But from the days of her youth,
She was all that it takes.
Wrapped in the wings of love is her identity and,
I am in the valley of anchor to make love with her;
But from between her breasts are the true love of her muse.

Her lewdness to all is in the valley of anchor,
And her nakedness to all is seen around her youthful breasts;
But the door of her hope is what she has for you,
Like me being with her all day long.
Take a stick and write upon it,
For i desire mercy on this love than hate;
Like the great River Hiddekel.

She has set water for me to drink on this love,
Like a freewill offering of her love in the valley of anchor;
But be very careful to swim deeply into her love.
Like the King's food and the Queen's water,
Im am in a night vision of love to share my views;
And from between her breasts are the sweet things of love.
The deep and the secrets of her love,
Like the great River Hiddekel pouring down on her nakedness;
Come and explore this valley of her anchor.

My Adieu;

The summer nights that emptied all sorrows.
The winter nights filled me with pain.
The slow breeze of autumn that humbly blew my hairs.
Of all the days that i did spend.
Of all the nights that i have seen.
And all those faces.
Young and old.
I remember them still.
I remember them now.
Oh how each day enroled a lesson.
One that was worth learning.
And how each moment that left my clock.
Left its fragrance with it.
The rains; the sun; the moon; the breeze.
That left there certain cries of ease.
Worth recalling; when i was sad.
Or broken by someones words.
And as each day slipped through my fingers.
Many memories; welcomed my heart.
And now as my heart beats still.
And now as death comes near.
Farewell oh dear, cruel world.
Farewell its traps and games.
Farewell to them who lived with me.
Farewell to love and pain.
I say adieu to every soul that lives a silent life.
May you find peace that i have found.
With death upon my door.
It is love that made me fly in the seventh sky.
But it was hope that never left me; for eternity.

Propinquity (I've Just Begun To Care)

by Gerry Goffin & Carole King
The local rock group down the street
Is trying hard to learn their song,
They serenade the weekend squire
Who just came out to mow his lawn.
Another pleasant valley Sunday,
Charcoal burning everywhere,
Rows of houses that are all the same,
And no one seems to care.
See Mrs. Gray, she's proud today
Because her roses are in bloom,
And Mr. Green, he's so serene,
He's got a TV in every room.
Another pleasant valley Sunday,
Here in Status Symbol Land,
Mothers complain about how hard life is,
And the kids just don't understand.
Creature comfort goals, they only numb my soul,
And make it hard for me to see.
Ahhh...thoughts all seem to stray to places far away,
I need a change of scenery.
Ta ta ta ta, ta ta ta ta... (etc.)
Another pleasant valley Sunday,
Charcoal burning everywhere.
Another pleasant valley Sunday,
Here in Status Symbol Land.
Another pleasant valley Sunday,
(A pleasant valley Sunday)
Another pleasant valley Sunday,
(A pleasant valley Sunday)
(fade out)

We're All God's Children

Album: Peace In The Valley
Here comes a Baptist, here comes a Jew
There goes a Mormon and a Muslim too
I see a Buddist and a Hindu
I see a Catholic and I see you
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
You like the day, and I like the night
He's into country and he's isn't quit
There's folks on the left and the far right
But that doesn't mean that we have to fight
We're all god's children
All god's children
Yeah, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
White folks, yellow folks, black and tan
On the same planet in the same plan
A feminist woman and a he man
We're all playin' the magic hand
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Oh, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
All god's children
Yeah, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
All god's children
We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Yeah, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all black and white
We're all precious in his sight
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Why can't we all be
One big happy family...

Congratulation

I must whole heartedly congratulate
A loving tribute to octogenarian and relate
How life might have given him sleepless nights?
To spend the entire life at ease with resolve to fight

I love his one remark about country
A beautiful land bestowed on us by almighty
Motherland must be felt as matter of pride by all of us
Let us strengthen his belief with all the trust

Let the destiny day come as sense of fulfillment
Let our soul feel at that time as proudest moment
We have lived with diverse culture and affinity
A rarest thing ever found in world history

It is rare gesture to a person
Who has spent entire life with noble reasons?
He could rest and spend time easily
Yet he offered to the services of literature readily

Let us all wish him great success
Good health and wealth with easy access
It may provide him means to live
Life to be enjoyed and relived

Life is to be lived at full length
Not in number but with achievement and strength
He has done it with extra ordinary zeal
I wish him all the success in life real

We may pick some threads
Take a lesson and like to lead
More to learn and more to read
From life itself before we are no more or dead

0258 While the enamel holds

I've just made a passable loaf:
the mixing bowl could almost
be called a Thanksgiving Bowl -
maybe, could start a fashion:

it's made, not of catering-trade steel
which spins nicely on the worktop
nor of plastic, but
of enamel, made about 1929 I guess,
by Kockums of Sweden, size 28 cms
it's clearly stamped -
Kockum's whose proud claim is that
'it lasts a lifetime' - if
you're fortunate enough to be able
to test it thus...

my mother used it to make cakes
- I can hear the scratch of sugar, butter, flour, right now;
sometimes the smell of lemon or vanilla too. And
for her, too, gratitude, I guess,
while she used it, hands and thoughts,
although she could not put it to
the Kockum's test...But the silvery marks
of the fork, or whisk, or careful knife that
left little for me to lick,
disappeared from its strong enamel

and now I use it to make bread
wondering how many of
the current users could verify
to Kockum's management
their proud claim

for it was only late in life that
my mother told me that this bowl
this small 28 cm bowl
was my first baby bath

so as I use it with these mixed emotions
mixed together in this mixing bowl
receptacle of love on love
and thanksgiving
I note with some reflection
that recently, one slight chip
in its circular bowl has appeared
due perhaps to carelessness, not in
the preparing but the washing-up...

and think I'd rather think
(you see - the baby turned out intellectual)
my life were rounded by my failures in my care
than the life of an enamel bowl
however guaranteed

perhaps we'll go together...
dust to dust, flour to flour,
flowers falling to nourish
the seeds of flowers to come

I must remember to ask
my executors to write Kockum's
and confirm their not so often
substantiated claim

The Whistle

To the valley of birth,
To the valley of vision,
To the valley of love;
Yes! ! Of a sound guideline in the land of my muse,
And like the fowls of the high mountains.

The king's spear!
Soon the fisherman will mourn;
And like the love of the inheritance of Beersheba.

Clean it well to its further limits and it will be yours;
And like the beasts of the earth,
Because, i have taught them with my wisdom and i know their thoughts.

It is very sad that, religion separates people;
But to the Yebusite City i will rest my mind,
And like the muse of your sweet love in the land of unity.

Baalath Beer! !
Let us teach our children kindness;
And like the prints from the soles of my feet.

She laboured and gave birth in pain!
But try to clean your mind before you give out the children's bread to the dog;
For, adultery is sin.

The valley of salt,
The valley of sugar,
The valley of pepper! !
And like a donkey's head sold for eighty shekels;
But, let us teach our children kindness.

To purify yourselves in the gardens,
In the very time of your troubles;
For, many have really chosen their own ways in this life!
And like climbing Mount Nebo to the top,
However, the referee blew the whistle for us to start the game.

Through the Green Valley

Through the green valley and past the crooked tree
there lies a place of love and tranquility
where food and water are in abundancy
and children play happy free from tyranny.

Through the green valley and past the golden tree
there is a place of art and wonder and glee
where people sing and dance in jeu d' esprit
and families are happy not refugees.

Through the green valley and past the diamond tree
there a place of beauty a land of the free
where people live in a state of ecstasy
and pain is vanquished there is no misery.

Through the green valley and past the godly tree
There the kingdom of heaven 'grandiosity'

Valley Of The Ghouls

Energized with a sacrifice,
To remain devoted to purpose...
And a disciplined life.
Is a lonely proposition...
For those walking on a path,
That breaks away from traditions.
And pre-conditions as if accepted missions.

Achieving with dignity and a motivation to fulfill...
At times can promote discouragement.
And attention from those mean spirited...
Out to kill goodwill!
And this they will...
As if skilled.

It is difficult to maintain in the valley of the ghouls.
Those who rush to confirm the dead through obituaries.
Those who nourish upon others' despair.
Those who delight in ruling over their blight!
As if this ignites their wicked moods with added fuel.

It is difficult to maintain in the valley of the ghouls.
Those rushing from repast to repast...
To sip and dine to leave.
These are the people holding their breaths...
With a more interest in death,
Than to living lives invested...
In a happiness to manifest.

It is difficult,
To maintain...
In the valley of the ghouls.

When people express,
How good someone looks...
Dressed!
And appearing...
To be at peace in a restful death!

It is difficult,
To maintain...
In the valley of the ghouls.

When people express,
How good someone looks...
Dressed!
And appearing...
To be at peace in a restful death.

Oh yes...
It is difficult,
To maintain...
In the valley of the ghouls.

When people express,
How good someone looks...
Dressed!
And appearing...
To be at peace in a restful death.

Sleepless Eyes Make Sleepless Night

Sleepless eyes make sleepess night
Please world
Give me something to hold on tight,
For even though I have
Sleepless eyes that make sleepess night
I yearn to rest, a rest so peaceful
Only death can make it right.
Sleepless eyes make sleepless night
Please world
Restore my life so it can be in my sight
For all I see is death
Because only death can make it right.
Sleepless eyes that make sleepless night
Rest assues that the world
Will give in and not put up a fight
Otherwise there is but death
Only death can make it right.
Sleepless eyes make sleepless night
Please world
Shine hope back into my life with light
So brightand warm it makes
Death seem not so right.
Sleepless eyes that make sleepness night
Give me the strength and will
That the world will share its might
To fight against death
For only death can make it right.
Sleepless eyes make sleepless night
Please close your eyes
So death will disappear with the sunlight
And let the world
Be the only one to make right.

Amid Sunshine

Make life interesting and attractive
By enjoying the nature that is eager to greet
And take a moment to scroll through
Each beautiful scene of peace and serenity
Amid sunshine--

Nudge shadows in other direction
And let the sunbeam peeps through
The wide open window of your life
That blocks pain and takes you towards healing
Amid sunshine--

Remember that it is a new season
So look forwards to excitement
And erase the visible and invisible borders
And enjoy balmy breeze of early hours
Amid sunshine--

And start enjoying your journey
Into this beautiful world
By following the road map
That access life from various directions
Amid sunshine--

So you can explore and watch actions unfold
With the mirror image of serenity
That teaches you to walk in peace
And scroll through all the options
Amid sunshine--

Garden Of Earthly Delights

Kid,
Stay and snip your cord off,
Talk and let your mind loose,
Cant all think like chekov,
But youll be o.k.
Kid,
Is this your first time here?
Some cant stand the beauty,
So they cut off one ear,
But youll be o.k.
Welcome to the garden of earthly delights.
Welcome to a billion arabian nights.
This is your life and you do what you want to do,
This is your life and you spend it all.
This is your life and you do what you want to do,
Just dont hurt nobody,
And the big rewards here,
In the garden of earthly delights.
Kid,
Pick up with another,
Some will even drop you,
But hearts are built like rubber,
So youll be alright.
Kid,
Swallow but believe us,
You wont die of boredom,
Should you have to leave us,
Itll be alright.
Welcome to the garden of earthly delights.
Welcome to a billion arabian nights.
This is your life and you do what you want to do,
This is your life and you spend it all.
This is your life and you do what you want to do,
Just dont hurt nobody,
less of course they ask you,
In the garden of earthly delights.
Welcome to the garden of earthly delights.
Welcome to a billion arabian nights.
This is your life and you do what you want to do,
This is your life and you spend it all.
This is your life and you do what you want to do,
