Do You Believe Me?

I drank a little too much,
The rum has a strong punch,
I don’t understand why,
Didn’t you say stop?
You knew I couldn’t see clearly,
With my foggy eyes.

I was so drunk I felt like I couldn’t move!
Tears poured out of my eyes,
I just wanted to go home!
There are guys all over,
Why did I put myself in this position?
I promised I’d be different!

I stumbled to the bed,
Talking to my brother on my cell phone,
Crying uncontrollably pleading him to help me,
But through the drunken fear filled speech and tears,
He doesn’t think anything’s really wrong,
I’m just too drunk, and scared to have a seizer and to die.
Hanging up the phone my heart sank.
Puking once more into the little garbage can.

Still laying there not knowing,
The guys have come in and she has locked the door,
They surround the bed with, their belts being to be undone,
One holds me down, while the other one has his way,
I am screaming for the girl, who I once called friend,
HELP PLEASE I DON’T WANT THIS! ! !
I try to fight, but I am too drunk.
They switch, it was all the first guys’ idea,
Then a third guy had his way,
Tearing me up more inside.
After that I past out,
So, I don’t know how many,
Had their fun with me.
I woke up scared and alone,
With one less friend.
And no where to call home.

But the worst thing about this is,
The one I called friend was right there,
THE WHOLE TIME and did nothing to stop it! ! !
Then when I tried to tell someone they didn’t believe me! ! !
My other friends, my mother, step father, THE COPS no one,
Even though these nightmares that won’t end,
To let my dreams begin!
They still don’t believe me!
Please tell me you believe.

For My Foster Sister (about growing up with mom drunk)

We used to run through the sprinkler
we double jumped & skipped rope
we danced along to the radio
our lives were filled with hope

then something made her dad leave
and soon her mom was always drunk
she didn't have clean clothes to wear
she often felt like a dirty punk

she didn't have anyone to talk to
and the shades were always pulled tight
her mom didn't want any noise
and hated when she turned on the light

she no longer made her lunch
and asleep when she came home
she wore a ratty bathrobe
and never used a comb

it's a good thing the house was paid for
so she never had to sleep in the street
but if she didn't cash in coke bottles
she would never have anything to eat

nobody ever called the cops
they lived out towards the woods
she learned how to steal real well
and that's how she brought home goods

Mom used her welfare money
to buy her favorite drink
she ate all her leftovers
and put dishes in the sink

She didn't want a foster family
but was too scared not to tell
the day she found her on the floor
she told me her mom wasn't well

But instead of speaking out
She left home that day
she slept under the railway pass
got to school, ran all the way

We don't know who called the cops
but they cornered her in the hall
took her to the counselors office
where she stood against the wall

They told her - she had to move
in with a foster family
She didn't want to leave her mom
but is how it was to be

She cried at the funeral
for a mom who wasn't there
and moved around a lot after that
her mom's death too much to bear

She graduated college
just the other day
that foster family that took her in
we helped her make her own way

She never thought she'd love again
after her mom was gone
but we've learned a lot since then
and we know her mom was wrong

When her dad left he took her pride
and she lost all control
she couldn't raise her by herself
with booze she drowned her soul

We've been to her grave
and planted a flower cover
cause even though she was a drunk
she still her mother

A Real Friend in one's life....

A friend is a tissue when you can't stop crying,
A friend is a shoulder when you feel like dying,
A friend is always there to listen when you have something to say,
A friend is weak when you just need a day,
A friend is a crutch when you have a broken heart,
A friend is a glue when some thing falls a part,
A friend is a phone call when you can't leave your home,
A friend is a when you feel all alone,
A friend is a wing if you want to fly,
A friend is one who understands without knowing why,
A friend is an ear for a secret to tell,
And at last.......
A friend is a love, happiness, care and joy that can never let go in one's life.........

More Over-Heard Conversations At The Party

'Bet you thought you were talking to me didn't you? '

'We have them just where they want us'

'If I am an hallucination, why are you talking to me? '

'You keep applying for the job of my supervisor. That job is taken.'

If I wanted someone to run my life, Dad, I wouldn't choose you.

Being right all the time is not enough.

'Sometimes you have to stoop to see your dreams.'

'I can sing but only in the bathroom'

I like you, but, only because you like me

The higher I reach on the step-ladder of life, the more likely I will fall.

'I like me because I got you to like me.'

'I would be perfect if I didn't have all these flaws.'

'If you give me a kiss I will run away and keep it forever'

'I like to be with my friends when I want to be alone among people'

'He told me he liked me, so I hit him.'

I told him that I was trying to be wrong, but that he was making that difficult.

'I was so drunk I tried to make a phone call with her barbie doll.'

'So I am trying to fish my cell phone out of the toilet and it rings and then
someone says hello, and I turn around and it is Bob.'

'So I said 'Don't come back to me just because I asked you to.'

The tears that I cry are not yours

I am not your friend who tried
to kill you last night
I am not you friend who mustanize
and try to get intimacy
I am not your friend who killed you
your father, then came back home with a gun on my face

I am not your friend
who is your friend
then your friend
what is a friend
when you have a friend
then a friend who is my friend
when I have a friend

The tears that I cry are not yours

I have never had a friend
like my mother
I have never had a friend
like my father
I have never had a friend
like my brother
my sister, she hates me
as much as I hate her

The tears that I cry are not yours

who is she to take off
her clothes in the middle of
the street and say the door will
be closed in the next fifteen minutes round

The tears that I cry are not yours

‘she my mother, my mother who cries
every time she thinks of
me’
you are my sister
but you were my sister
when my sister was born

The tears that I cry are not yours

every time I see her
I am happy
for she knows what it means to…

‘she used to come home to me
and say poy I have something for you to eat
don’t tell anyone

The tears that I cry are not yours’

Just Friends VS. Best Friends

A Just Friend says.. hi, ..hello, ..bye, ... and walks away...
A Best friend always stop by your side & asks how Are You doing? ?

A Just Friend has never seen you cry.
A Best friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A Just Friend thinks the friendship is over, when you have an argument.
A Best friend knows that it's not a friendship, until after you've had a fight.

A Just Friend hates it when you call, after he has gone to bed.
A Best friend asks you.... why you took so long to call.

A Just Friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A Best friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.

A Just Friend expects you to be always there for any help.
A Best friend is always there, wherever you require any help.

A Just Friend doesn't have time in his/her busy schedule,
A Best friend always have time for you in his/her busy schedules....

A Just Friend phones you whenever he/she has some work,
A Best friend calls you often just to hear your voice.....

A Just Friend doesn't have anything to talk to you on phone,
A Best friend doesn't know...what all to finish...

Alone

I was running, running scared
When I realised you no longer cared,
Something had made you change your mind,
Your eyes were cold, your heart turned blind,
You never spared a single thought
About the money or the gifts I'd bought,
I didn't want your gratitude,
No, not at all, but your attitude
Surprised me and I wondered why
I couldn't do anything else but cry.
I'd always been a lonely man -
It just turned out that way - I didn't plan
My loneliness, it simply came
And there wasn't anyone I could blame,
But when we met I thought at last
That solitude would be a thing of the past,
I was so happy, I felt more joy
Than I'd ever felt since I was a boy!
I didn't understand love could end,
That I would be left without a friend.
At least you might just say 'Goodbye'
Even if you won't tell me the reason why.
But your heart is harder than a stone,
Indifferent as an old, dry bone,
I know you won't answer if I phone
And I understand I am ALONE.

Too Bad Too Sad

Once I had a girl
She called me on the phone
Said come on over honey
You know Im all alone
But when I got to her place
What I saw stopped me dead
She was standin with a shotgun
Pointed at my head
My my too bad too sad
My my too good to last
So Im cuttin out fast
Once I had a friend
We had a lot of laughs
He was all a friend could be
Knowin him was just a gas
One night I got home
He gave me one surprise
He was standin in a womans dress
Lashes on his eyes
My my too bad too sad
My my too good to last
So Im cuttinout fast
My, my, my
My, my, my
Had a pretty wife
She was all I could need
Gave me what I wanted
Never had to plead
One day a man called
And he put me wise
Shes doin the same thing
With ten other guys
My my too bad too sad
My my too good to last
So Im cuttinout fast
My my too bad too sad
My my too good to last
So Im cuttin out fast
My, my, my
My, my, my

Life

My life is one of a kind
I've been through more than you think
Haven't seen anyone get shot
But I've had a gun to my face
Been chased out my house with a shoty
Because my pops went psycho
Now he scared my best-friend for life

I've seen my sister get molested
And mother get raped
I've seen my family doing drugs
And doing drug deals
People might say I haven't seen alot
Yet they don't know me
How can they judge me?

Everything I know I taught myself
I've basically raised mtself
Always had to look after my sister
Making sure she learned right from wrong
But I guess I didn't do a good job
I left her and my brother did too
Now my mother has to raise her
She doesn't know a dame thing
Granted she knows how to get drunk and mad
She can fill your head with lies
Look that's what she did to me

Tryed to hit me, but she knew better
Now I've left her, she put me through to much
Couldn't take it anymore
Now she cries her fake tears
Everyone believes her
Thats her spell on them
People don't even really no her
Just the shit she be feading them
Lies, Lies, Lies and more Lies
If only they could really see her
I guess that's the way it is
My life is one of a kind

A Phone Call

The Phone Call

Phone rings I finally answer, it’s my daughter she wants to come home.
“Where are you ringing from? I ask she doesn’t know. Tell her I have no
home only phone that works in all weather, “I gave you all my money
and I sold my house so you could become a doctor.” But dear dad I’m
a dancer now in a country I don’t know the name of, only that people
talk funny and cry a lot when drunk.” Since we didn’t know where we
are, agree to meet in Tirana but, she doesn’t know when she’ll be there,
I don’t know when I’ll be going there. Dreams of becoming middle class
through my daughter has vanished. Where is Tirana? Anyone?

The Letter My Father Will Never See

if only one last time i could see you. if only one time i could tell you what i think. if only one time i could say what i've been thinking for all these years. if only i could just not care. if only it didn't hurt so much. if only i could say that you dont matter. if only i could tell you. if only one time you'd listen. if only you knew. if only i could tell you your an ass. if only i could say and put into words what you've put me through. if only you were around to say good job.
as a father you have failed. as a father you were never there. as a father you never held me. as a father you never cared. as a father you never gave me praise. as a father you never brushed my hair. as a father you didn't teach me about life. as a father you didn't teach me how to care. as a father you never showed me love. as a a father you you let me cower in the corner. as a father you scared the hell out of me every night of the week. as a father you came home drunk. as a father you didn't put me to bed. as a father you never gave me a hug as a father you were my worst night. however, for some reason i cant fathom your my father. and for the same reason i cant fathom how you earned the title when being a father was one thing that you never were and dont seem to want to be.

She's A Victim

Her name everybody knew.
When you couldn't get it else where.
She was in town.
Just one phone call.
That was all.

The price you pay.
Diseased they say.
But in a not so nice way.
But they all want it yesterday.
As favors become the story.
As the hound chases for it's glory.

But when it gets so dirty.
How do you wash those sins away.
Here's some ice to numb the pain.
No matter how many times.
No matter under whose name.
Extreme abuse comes to my mind.
But she like getting used.
It was all she knew.

Where was her big brother?
Locked up abroad.
Car theft was the charge.
Grand larceny with a dose of fleeing and resisting arrest.
A broken home where the father was god knows who.
With a drunken up mom to busy with here own affairs to ever care.
She was just a child.
But he took that all away from her.
A rape by boyfriend not of hers.
Mom was too busy in the next room sucking the white snow up her nose that her 'man' just brought her.
Accusation were thrown, but she just pretend it didn't happen.
A poor little girl left to her own to endure the abuse.

And we now ostracize her because she like that.
Hypocritical bullshit, and pure ignorance.
She needs not pity, lust, or disgust.
She just needs a friend who will always be there.
A friend that will always care.
It's not on the outside but on the inside.
Most can't look that deep.
Especially when it comes to someone like her.
Either word of mouth, or her body cause the mind to blur.
It's not her fault.
I don't blame her.
I know you will never understand.
And to think this is coming from a man.
But I'm not one to care what others think.
I defend what I believe in.
And I protect my friend.
And I hope with this little talk.
It will bring the slander to an end.

Being Drunk's A Lot Like Loving You

I drank till I Stumbled
I drank till i fell
When The drunk part was over it hurt me like hell now i know about drinkin so i know one
things true bein drunk's a lot like lovin you
Cause I loved till i stumbled
I loved till I fell
When the When the lovin was over it hurt me like hell I know what a taste of the wrong love
can do being drunk's a lot like lovin you
And I've woke up some mornings a sworn off the drink at that ive done reasonably well I think
but i havent done well swearin off you and me and that ive failed miserably
Well ive felt the hangover of lovin all night ive sat at the bar all alone in a fight I've
bottled up feelings and poured 'em out to
Being drunk's a lot like lovin you
And I've woke up some mornings a sworn off the drink at that ive done reasonably well I think

I've drank till i stumbled
I love till i fell

Death of an Innocent

I went to a party mom, I remembered what you said, you told me
Not to drink mom, so I drank soda instead.
I felt really proud inside mom, the way you said I would.
I didn’t drink and drive mom even though the others said I should.

I know I did the right thing mom, I know you’re always right, now
The party is finally ending mom and everyone is driving out of sight.
As I got into my car mom, I know I’d get home in one piece because
Of the way you raised me mom, so responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, but as I pulled onto the road and the other
Driver didn’t see me and hit me like a load, as I lay here on the
Pavement mom, I heard the policeman say the other guy is drunk
And I’m the one who’ll pay.

I’m lying here dying mom I wish you’d get here soon, how come this
Happened to me mom my life burst like a balloon, there is blood all
Around me mom, most of it’s mine, I hear the paramedics say I’ll die
In a very short time.

I just wanted to tell you mom I swear I didn’t drink, it was the others mom,
The others didn’t think, he didn’t know where he was going mom, he was
Probably at the same party as I, the difference is mom he drank and I will die.

Why do people drink mom? It can ruin your whole life, I’m feeling sharp pains
Now mom, pains just like a knife. The guy who hit me is walking mom, I don’t
Think that is fair, I’m laying here dying mom while all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry mom, tell daddy to be brave and when I go to heaven
Put Daddy’s girl on my grave. Someone should have told him mom not to drink
And drive, if only they would have only taken the time mom I would still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter mom, I’m becoming very scared please don’t cry for
Me mom because when I needed you, you were always there. I have one last
Question mom before I say goodbye, I didn’t even drink mom, so why am I the
One to die.

This is the end mom I wish I could look you in the eye to say these final words
I love you and goodbye.

Used to be Hero

Patricia,

Do you know? Do you remember? Things from long ago? Do you know that you used to be my hero? The person I thought I could always talk to? Do you remember when I called you mom?

I wish this letter was addressed to her; the woman I called mom; my hero. I used to think about asking dad where did you go; then I realized he was never there. So instead I realized the appropriate question for him is 'where have you been'. It was my hero who left me. It is you I must ask 'where did you go'. You used to be my hero.

Once upon a time,

You lived in Newell; Dad lived in Nisland. Matt and I we were at your house for the night. Mattie slept in our bunk in the back room. I slept on the floor in the livingroom. To raised voices I awoke. Daddy was drunk and you were fighting. You told him to leave and he grabbed Mattie. He took him out to his truck and you locked him out. To the door I ran screaming for Mattie, scared for my little brother. Not caring for my safety. You locked the door and pulled me back. Daddy soon was at the door screaming and pounding at the door for you to let him get his stuff. You ignored his rants and raves and called the police. I watched from the door as they arrived and Daddy, he put up a fight. The cops asked once, they asked twice, soon he was on the ground and put in vice. On his wrists they slapped the cuffs and dear little mattie was brought back to us. In the back of the police car Daddy went.

The End

That night you were my hero. You kept Mattie and me safe from Daddy when he was drunk. I only have one question for you now. Where did that Mommy go? My hero.....the person who was supposed to teach me everything in life. Your life seemed to fall apart in front of my eyes, but I did not see your pain. Only the pain inflicted on Mattie and me. I wish you could still be my hero, but that was lost a long time ago.

When A Friend

When a friend drinks
When a friend bleeds,
Do not freak out.
When a friend takes a puff
Or says sex just wasn't enough,
Do not sit there and pout.
When a friend gets really high
When a friend is about to die,
Do not leave their frikken side.
When a friend is drunk
When a friend gets fucked,
Don't leave them, be there.
When a friend starves
When a friend barfs,
Let them know you care.
When a friend needs you there
When a friend says their scared,
Go see them, and just be with them.
When a friend gets abused
When a friend has just been used,
Hug them and say it'll okay, offer help.
When you're getting torn down
But a friend has a very long frown,
Be happy so that you can cheer them up.
Don't overstress
Dont become a mess,
You're life will only get worse.
If you need more advice
I shall suffice,
Just talk to me, or call.

Georgie And Her Rival

Georgie grew to hate her name
It sounded like a tiny man
And the one she had said "I can't see you, but I'll call you
whenever I can"
Sometimes the phone would ring, when she was half-asleep
A voice would drag her down with its suggestions
Though she often felt cheated, she never felt cheap
CHORUS
Well heaven knows what fills the heart and makes you feel so
alive
It's impossible to tear apart
Georgie and her rival
It was half-past February
And he hadn't called since New Year's Day
Maybe he'd found another woman to say those words no chapel girl
should say
Her mother would phone and always keep talking
She'd try to be polite, making faces
But somewhere in the back of her mind, her rival was stalking
CHORUS
Her rival would always wait till the eighth or ninth bell
He'd be desperate anyway and drunk as well
She always liked to hurt him to prove he was prepared
To love her anyway that she wanted
So she could tell which she preferred
He sat up with his address book trying to think what mood he's in
His finger traced past Georgie's name to someone who needed less
persuading
He didn't hear through her disguise he didn't leave her in a rush
Just like the promise that he left on her machine
That almost made her blush
The radio plays a lover's symphony
"The number you have dialed has been re-directed"
Now she puts him on the speaker-phone
Whenever she has company
CHORUS

The End Of The World

Go if you want to
I never tried to stop you
Know there's a reason
For all of this you're feeling
Low, it's not my call
You couldn't ever love me more
You couldn't love me more
You couldn't love...
Me - I don't show much
It's not that hard to hide you
See in a moment
I can't remember how to
Be all you wanted
I couldn't ever love you more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love...
You want me to cry and play my part
I want you to sigh and fall apart
We want this like everyone else
Stay if you want to
I always wait to hear you say
There's a last kiss
For all the times you run this way
It's not my fault
You couldn't ever love me more
You couldn't love me more
You couldn't love...
Love me more
Couldn't ever love me more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love
You want me to lie not break your heart
I want you to fly not stop and start
We want us like everything else
Maybe we didn't understand
Not just a boy and a girl
It's just the end of the
End of the world
Me - I don't say much
It's far too hard to make you
See in a moment
I still forget just how to
Be all you wanted
I couldn't ever love you more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love you more

I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom.
The others didn't think.

He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank
And I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now.
Pains just like a knife.

The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
And I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying
And all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry, Mom.
Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom,
Put 'Daddy's Girl' on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom,
I would still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom.
I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom.
When I needed you, you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom.
Before I say good bye.
I didn't drink and drive,
So why am I the one to die?

Tear Drops And Closed Caskets The Good Die Young.

I went to a party, Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink and drive, Mom,
So I drank sprite instead.

I felt really proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.

I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you're always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom,
As everyone drives out of sight.

As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home in one piece,
Because of the way you raised me, Mom,
So responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom,
But as I pulled onto the road,
The other car didn't see me, Mom,
And it hit me like a load.

As I lie here on the pavement, Mom,
I hear the policeman say,
The other guy is drunk, Mom,
And now I'm the one who'll pay.

I'm lying here dying, Mom,
I wish you'd get here soon.
How come this happened to me, Mom?
My life burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom,
Most of it is mine.
I hear the paramedic say, Mom,
i'll be dead in a short time.

I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom,
The others didn't think.

He didn't know where he was going, Mom,
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, Mom,
He drank, and I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now, Mom,

I have one last question, Mom,
Before I say good-bye.
I didn't ever drink, Mom,
So why am I to die?

This is the end, Mom,
I wish I could look you in the eye.
To say these final words, Mom,
I love you, and good-bye
