Sonnet7

The sky is wide, but not so wide, my dear
a bird can't find my head to void upon
The earth is broad, but not so broad I fear
my foot can't find a load to happen in.
Carefully selected from its peers
the rose I've chosen always hides a bee.
Umbrellas guarantee the weather clears
forgetting one, a shower bodes for me.
After standing hours in the cold
the ticket window closes in my face
All that I considered to be gold
actually, they tell me now, was dross.
Things are, you can plainly, bad, see-
it may be time to play the lottery.

Got My Feet On The Ground

I wanna lot out of life, but I know my limitations
Guess I want a lot of things and got my inclinations
Got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one
Ive learned a lot out of life, watchin other folks mistakes
Funny things that they can get for finding out too late
I got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one
Well I dont need nobody else
All I needs a single ticket
When I travel on my own
Not afraid to be alone
I got my feet upon the ground, and Im standing on my own
When I travel far and wide
And looking for a four leaf clover
Dont mind if I cant find it, got no chip upon my shoulder
Got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one
Well I dont need nobody else
All I needs a single ticket
When I travel on my own
Not afraid to be alone
I got my feet upon the ground, and Im standing on my own
When I travel far and wide
And looking for a four leaf clover
Dont mind if I cant find it, got no chip upon my shoulder
Got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one

Where Love Hides

I open the door
You stand there in the rain
Your eyes say it all
I know cause I feel the same
Why do we do the things we do?
How can both of us be so cruel?
Why are we so afraid?
Take my hand and step into the light
As we touch our hearts will open wide
Kiss my lips and hold me now
And lie here by my side
Help me find a place where love hides
We will find the place where love hides
I follow you home
You smile there in the dark
I hear your words
How they twist me and tear me apart
Why do we hurt the ones we trust?
Is that all thats become of us?
Why are we so afraid?
Take my hand and step into the light
As we touch our hearts will open wide
Kiss my lips and hold me now
And lie here by my side
Help me find the place where love hides
We will find the place where love hides

When The Lord Closes The Door

(kinky friedman & jeff shelby)
When i find myself alone in my house and in my head
And i blow the candles out and i take myself to bed
And i'm old enough to realize, ah, young enough to know
When the lord closes the door, he opens a little window.
When sleep closes my eyes and sends me searching for you
And i'm feelin' blue as the sky without your love to carry me through
And i'm weak enough to be afraid but strong enough to let it show.
When the lord closes the door, he opens a little window.
Baby i'm a gypsy boy, i'll ride the night until
I come to you like moonlight through your raggle-taggle window sill.
When you find yourself alone in your house and in your head
And you blow the candles out and you take yourself to bed
And you're old enough to realize, ah, young enough to know
When the lord closes the door, he opens a little window.

Whole Wide World

When I was a young boy, my momma she said to me:
Theres only one girl in the world for you
And she probably lives in tahiti
Or maybe in the bahamas
Where the caribbean sea is blue
Weepin away in the tropical night
Because nobodys told her bout you
Id go the whole wide world
Id go the whole wide world
Just to find her
Id go the whole wide world
Id go the whole wide world
To find out where they hide her
Yeah!
Why am I hanging around in the rain out here
Tryin to think of a girl
Why are my eyes fillin up with these lonely tears
When theres girls all over the world?
Or is she lying on a tropical beach somewhere
Underneat the tropical sun
Hiding away in the heat wave there
Hopin that I wont be long?
Id go the whole wide world
Id go the whole wide world
Just to find her
Id go the whole wide world
Id go the whole wide world
To find out where they hide her
[repeat]
Yeah!
Id go the whole wide world
[repeat to fade]

3 Part Poem

Many a time things happen
We know in our heart it is so
but chosen not to believe
N when the news of it finally come
We fall apart cause we had a feeling
it is so n chosen not to believe
Had we chosen to believe
Can it be avoided in time
I dun think it will be so
Things often happen for a reason
We know not but may in the future
when we think back to now

Like the old folks often know
When it is their time to go
Weather it is peaceful or not
Time to go is time to go
weather we want it or not

Like Grandma seem to have know
the day before she pass away
She seem okay but like she knew
it was time to go she had ask us to take care
but i was not there, as some of us were not
It was a sad time but it had pass
I had remember her telling me once
Girl u can do anything if u want
I have kept it in my heart those words she say
N still can't help feeling sad when
I think of those words she say

Wide To Receive

Download something
Useful, or useless
Because Im lying here
Wide to receive
Almost anything
Youd care to give
And I dont
Get along with myself
And Im not too keen
On anyone else
Turn on, plug in
Then just walk away
Unlock, process
And then just go
And Ive never felt quite so alone
As I do right now
Im lying here
Wide to receive
Almost anything
Youd care to leave
Wide, wide, wide
Wide, wide, wide
Wide, wide
Wide, wide
Wide, wide, wide, wide
Wide, wide, wide, wide
Wide, wide, wide, wide

Key to Your Peace

Slim chance you'll find your pot of gold,
With the purchase of a lottery ticket sold.
You hold everything you need right there.
Don't look around...
Look inside if you dare!

Rabbit's foot OR crytals rubbed...
Four-leaf clovers OR black cats snubbed!
Lucky charms OR psychic 'sights'!
If you really want a restful sleep at night!
Know you're the key to your peace!

The seasoned one has value

Dear,
I can’t play
The youngsters played,
The play of romance,
The play of hides and seeks
And the play of abandonment.

Dear,
I still can play
The youngsters failed,
The play of passion,
The play of care and concern
And the play of enrichment.

That is why
You, half my age,
At your middle age,
Still find in me repose,
Still find in me sway and solace
And seek the sex fulfillment.

When the time is right for M'lady Ernestine

Broad sonnet

We search for love to no avail. We try too hard and so we fail.
Although it may seem curious, fate knows much better than us.
When we are ready for a mate and then she does not hesitate.
She sets the time she sets the place, when she will bring us face to face.
With the partner of our dreams although to us it always seems.
That we have met by accident, but we did not it was by intent.
Fate knows exactly what we need and with her help we will succeed.
In finding what we have searched for. We don’t need to search anymore
We have been chosen carefully and who are we to disagree
We are quite sure our dreams come true, precisely as fate means us to.
It might be just co incidence, what matters is the consequence.
The end result is we got wed. I think that fate accomplished.
The task that she set out to do, for you love me and I love you.
You don’t find love, love will find you but not until it’s ready to..

I Lost My Life To Fear

Fear in the midst of the night
Fear in broad daylight
Fear of what could happen
Fear of what did happen
Fear insinuating my every day
Fear controlling all that I say
Fear governing me as I sleep
Fear deriding me as I weep
Fear that puts my sanity at steak
Fear that prays for me to break
Fear that strikes me with perplexity
Fear with a recipe of complexity
Fear that deprived me of exhilaration
Fear that admitted me to frustration
Fear that is prevailing my mind
Fear that manipulates humankind
Fear that was unveiled in my DNA
Fear that still holds my life today

Our Atlas

Not Atlas, with his shoulders bent beneath the weighty world,
Bore such a burden as this man, on whom the Gods have hurled
The evils of old festering lands-yea, hurled them in their might
And left him standing all alone, to set the wrong things right.

It is the way the Fates have done since first Time's race began!
They open up Pandora's box before some chosen man;
And then, aloof, they wait and watch, to see if he will find
And wake the slumbering God that dwells in every mortal's mind.

Erect, our modern Atlas stands, with brave uplifted head,
And there is courage in his eyes, if in his heart be dread.
Not dread of foes, but dread of friends, who may not pull together,
To bring the lurching ship of State safe through the stormy weather.

Oh, never were there wilder waves or more stupendous seas,
Or rougher rocks or bleaker winds, or darker days than these.
Not Washington, not Lincoln knew so grave an hour of Time
As he who now stands face to face with War's world-shaking crime.

His brain is clear, his soul is brave, his heart is just and right,
He asks no honours of the earth, but favour in God's sight;
His aim is not to wear a crown or win imperial power,
But to use wisely for the race life's terrible great hour.

O Liberty, who lights the world with rays that come from God,
Shine on Columbia's troubled track, and make it bright and broad;
Shine on each heart, and give it strength to meet its pains and losses,
And give supernal strength to one who bears the whole world's crosses;
Take from his thought the fear of friends who may not pull together,
And bring the glorious ship of State safe through wild waves and weather.

See deep, not wide

The more I serve the whole
The less I care for the single.
The more I regard the mass
The less I share with the singles.
When I see broad and wide
I miss seeing near and deep.
Who wants wide eyes?

A search for face

II patted on the broad solder of friend
as the music was airing from the band
the air has become thick and lovely
the dance floor is used very freely

It is nice to be a part
in a party to look very smart
many dreams and thoughts at heart
i feel the spring is awaiting start

I tend to look at beautiful faces
they all seem to be in lovely race
all colorful dresses with shining chicks
the last day to come at the end of the week

It is tender age to be looked after
we mix with young people and roar with laughter
it is different world and free from worry
it has no limit and no load to carry

I never went alone in party
though all boys and girls were to be around twenties
it was all fun and and nothing to bother
it was to see only beautiful face and consider

The days is looking to be very long
the heart mind fear it is going wrong
the nights too are spent in eagerness
the next day preparedness to find and trace

No one can blame rising star
though the distance is very far
the coming of an age is always noticed
always full of fun and intentionally enticed

No dirt to wash in holy water
only respect the wishes and needs to cater
still it is herculean task
people often cut joke and repeatedly ask

Let them find lovely place
talk freely and face to face
it will be easy to make firm bond
to develop feelings and really fond

it may not have easy sailing
all the chances may not be availing
it may run into rough weather
no one may want to provide a breather

What is most need at this juncture?
there should be an attempt to find bright future
no one can make them sure
but ready help and guidance must be assured

Why there is sudden spurt in death ratio?
they are just beginner or abnitio
who else will take them to safety?
this will not be done by lord or any deity

it is fine to be in company
everybody may want to accompany
still it is considered as grave hazard by many
it should be made enjoyable and not very funny

I wished it to happen
i dreamed in day time even
i wished too for the day to come near
for the beautiful words to whisper and hear

Ticket To The Moon

Remember the good old 1980s?
When things were so uncomplicated?
I wish I could go back there again
And everything could be the same.
Ive got a ticket to the moon
Ill be leaving here any day soon
Yeah, Ive got a ticket to the moon
But Id rather see the sunrise in your eyes.
Got a ticket to the moon
Ill be rising high above the earth so soon
And the tears I cry might turn into the rain
That gently falls upon your window
Youll never know.
Chorus:
Ticket to the moon (ticket to the moon)
Ticket to the moon (ticket to the moon)
Ticket to the moon (ticket to the moon).
Fly, fly through a troubled sky
Up to a new world shining bright, oh, oh.
Flying high above
Soaring madly through the mysteries that come
Wondering sadly if the ways that led me here
Could turn around and I would see you there
Standing there (and I would see you there, waiting...)
Ticket to the moon
Flight leaves here today from satellite two
As the minutes go by, what should I do?
I paid the fare, what more can I say?
Its just one way (only one way)...
Repeat chorus:
Repeat chorus:

Two bright eyes

Bare eyes shine in night,
look so powerful and bright
Keep staring but not made known,
Seem they are made for my own

Say not words but also not hide,
just smile broad with eyes wide,
convey deep feelings with no regret,
bright and shining eyes speak not yet,

why close eyes alone?
and face not covered,
So eyes when shut,
face may reveal,

You close the eyes,
life come to an end,
glitter and shine,
smile peters out,

find me so close even not near,
distance more but mind fear,
eyes shut but separation bear,
Near to come is idea to cheer,

You may say you are around, ,
even go round but not found
with steps so gentle on ground,
little it heard with no sound,

Oh, two eyes,
just face unveil,
lower it down to neck,
Find me there just to check,

Eyes may shine,
face may reveal,
wounds may heal,
love may look real,

What 'Is' Tasteless?

What 'is' tasteless?

Hmmm...
Let's see.
Someone attempting to define it,
For others.
And in doing so trys to determine,
What is appropriate etiquette...
To then demand what IS or IS NOT,
Accepted taste.
As if a quorum has delegated,
What will or will 'not' take place.

'But that is not deciding what 'is' tasteless.
That is censorship.'

Hey...
When someone wants to limit,
Anyone's exposure to what is available...
With an infliction of restrictions,
They, who select themselves as judge and jury...
Make those choices amongst themselves,
For fear of raising a consciousness.

'But...
Isn't that ignorance? '

No!
I don't think so.
I would think that would be called...
A preference to ignore reality.

'Well...
It is all quite immature to me.'

And neither are you judge or jury.
You have not been qualified,
To be among the selected few!
Your time has 'yet' to arrive to decide,
Just how broad someone's eyes are allowed to open.
And how wide.

Double Wide Paradise

(paul thorn/billy maddox)
I dont want to cry
I dont want to walk the floor
This mobile home
Dont feel like home no more
Since you left tell me what else can I do
Just come back home
Forgive me and forget it
This bed I made
Im tired of sleepin in it
Its freezin cold, and baby that aint cool
Im waitin on you
Here at the ponderosa trailer park
There wasnt nothin that could keep us apart
Then I broke your heart, in our
Double wide, double wide, double wide paradise
Come on back to our double wide paradise
Double wide, double wide paradise
I bought a swimmin pool
From the man at sears
He put it together
I filled it up with tears
Cant find no happiness no matter what I do
Just cause I got
The treasures of the world
It dont mean nothin
If I aint got you girl
Inside my castle
I got the king size blues
Im waitin on you
So baby when you get to feelin alone
You know I always leave my porch light on
So you can come back home, to our
Double wide, double wide, double wide paradise
Come on back to our double wide paradise
Double wide, double wide paradise
We can have a second honeymoon
Well throw some ribs on the barbecue
Just like we used to do
Double wide, double wide, double wide paradise
Come on back to our double wide paradise
Double wide, double wide paradise

Snow Filled Fields

And a new day is born on the broad expanse of the snow
And man is now freed from the phantoms below -- and I must go!
I turn away -- the snow and its beauty my visit prolong --
But now day returns and my heart must leave with its song
That it gleaned from the stars and the moonlight's soft glow,
From the broad breast of the land and wide sweep of white snow.

Who Scared You

Who scared you and why were you born, my babe?
In two-time's arms with all of your charms, my love.
Why were you born, just to play with me,
To freak out or to be beautiful, my dear?
Load your head, blow it up, feeling good, baby
Load your head, blow it up, feeling good, baby.
Well my room is so cold, you know you don't have to go, my babe.
And if you want it up right, I'm gonna love you tonight, my love.
Well I'm glad that we came, I hope you're feeling the same.
Who scared you and why were you born? Please stay.
I see your rider coming down the road.
Got a virgin carrying a heavy load,
One sack of silver and one bag of gold
