Remembering Christmas
A small dark plane is parked outside the complex.
A span of wings hangs over the glistening snow.
On the fuselage Fox News or CNN or something.
Crewmen mill about arm-flapping against the cold.
The night is crossed and looped with beams and cables
Lense men decide the best place to pitch the cameras
Candles burn tall at a table decked with holly-boughs.
It has stopped snowing. All is merry and bright.
There on the terrace sits Mrs. Claus herself
Mittened, beribboned, wrapped in a fur-lined parka
The slightly-embarrassed focus of so much attention,
But growing momently more and more at home.
She is talking to an interviewer-no, a whole panel of them
Having decided-why not-in favor of mikes
Of which six whistle and crackle in an arc before her
Beside a platter of just-baked Christmas goodies.
Into the microphone she says 'Yes, I pack the gifts.'
Wrapping each in plasticene or muslin.
Yes, she packs the Mister's lunch and dinner
It's a long way, all around the world, no?
Including, yes, the beers-not too many or too few
To keep the chill off and make the travelling light
And steel him for that intercontinental flight
Dark and tumultuous, over the Bering Strait.
Yes, she adores the deer, laying in for each
An extra measure of hay, some carrots, persimmons
Before they fly, wetly kissing each ones nose,
Wishing the great creatures safe haven.
They lower their heads, snort, and paw the
Ground sheepishly, mindful of her concern
Then she smiles, waves, draws her flannels about her
As the caravan begins to race, the whip crack,
With a 'hey ho my hearties, ' over the frozen turf,
Faster and faster, much like a 747, faster
Until suddenly airborn, gone and flying past the moon,
leaving her alone in the shadowy stillness.

Remembering Christmas 2
No, she never wanted to fly the reindeer
Even as many times as she's seen it done
It's the Master's schtick-who needs it-
The turbulent descent, the wind, the ashes
In the tertiary bronchioles-forget it. Besides,
It's been years since she's been down a chimney.
It's his show. Then, they're expecting him, the old man-
Expectation being the essence of the season.
The light on the frozen snow is astral.
Overshining the meager sheen from the kliegs.
It reminds her of something that happened long ago
Darned if she could say what it was now, though.
The interview is over-the crew is packing up.
Now the plane is loaded, all hands aboard
Goodbye, goodbye. The co-pilot signals back
Over the tundra taxies the little plane
Faster and faster, then off! It turns, bisects the moon
Which spills a cornucopia of musical toys:
Tom-tom. Tin whistle. Kazoo-on the snow-capped peaks
Under polaris, twinkling directly above.
Onto the plateaux, onto the ghostly slopes,
Into the vallies between crags, the fir-tufted foothills
Skidding down icey jags, alongside riverbeds
Bearing black, moon-stricken torrents,
Coming to rest at her feet. She picks one up, toots
Experimentally, watches the plane til the red wing lights fade
Unnecessarily long, turns and goes in.
Time to go in. Claus will be home soon enough.

Speedy Car
Faster than the best of men who fly,
The speedy car is on this ground of sauce.
They all praise him, fully adjusting
Him, like a man of evolution and solution.
The supermen who fight sadly say nothing
To the faster man of the car and vehicle.
Join him in song and dance, weakening his lifting,
The weights of speed are done.

Welcome Christmas
It is getting colder and colder outside
Winter is coming around the corner
and so is Christmas with all its pride
I promise it won't be getting warmer.
The nights are long and silent nowadays
Could Claus be riding his sleigh this night,
Or is there a snow storm coming this way,
Maybe Santa is checking his list to be right?
I looked above in the evening light for the thrill
of Christmas to begin and ring in happy melodies.
Once again, and for a moment I felt the cold chill
Warming me as I heard the beautiful chimes harmony.
Peace enfolded the world with glowing stars above
Christmas has come again with all its amazement
And the magic that brings the hope of course is love.
Welcome Christmas as the world awaits in enjoyment.
One more time, the Christmas tree lights shine bright
Gifts are passed around with words of great esteem
Father Christmas was here once again over night

Kite Song
I flew a kite, I held on tight to its string.
Each time I go anywhere, I held on tight.
In the middle of the night I woke up in fright,
Thinking maybe in my dream I let go of my kite.
When I was in a restaurant, talking to my friends,
Watching their mouths move faster and faster.
I thought of the kite that was flying in the sky
And made sure that my hand was holding the string.
That was a long time ago,
Many skies went by since then.
Now my hands stopped holding anything
And Ive learnt to take a walk instead.
Then one day in the evening light,
I saw something strange shining bright.
The sky was dark, with swarms of larks,
And in the midst of it all, yes, it was my kite.
How did the kite get there, Ill never know,
Floating away among the clouds to where nobody knows.
I held my gun with both my hands,
Slowly aiming at the shining dot.
The shot went off, the dot blew off,
Since then Ive never seen the kite again.

Let fog have to be disappeared.
Allow the sun light to play on the earth.
Spring will come.
Children will play joyously.
Flowers will bloom in their full swing.
