Have you heard how Moliere
in the final scene
sank into a chair,
blew his candle out, smiled,
clutched his side and died?
The crowd went wild!

Tei ('Demirifa due')
'Demirifa due'
Your died on the 3rd of March 2002;
And was buried on the 16th of March 2002,
But what is the independence of man when death calls? !
Tei, 'demirifa due';
You were with me on Friday the 1st of March 2002,
Then on Sunday the 3rd of March 2002 i heard of your death;
For death took you away from me like a candle in the wind.
Of the Red Sea and the Black Sea,
Of the Blue Sea and theWhite Sea,
But the wind blew you away so soon into the world unknown;
Young and fresh and never married,
And of the tears of many who came to see your dead body.
I was short of wards when i heard the news,
Because we had an appointment to go out together on the 4th of March;
And being an artist like myself,
We planned to visit the ART CENTRE (in Accra-Ghana) to sell some works.
Tei, 'demirifa due';
You were knocked and run down by a tipper truck with double axles!
And death knocked at your door so early and you were gone too soon.
Wailing and gnashing of teeth,
Your candle died out so soon in the wind;
And this sad note will be remembered always.

At the Tug-0-War
’Twas in a tug-of-war where I—the guvnor’s hope and pride—
Stepped proudly on the platform as the ringer on my side;
Old dad was in his glory there—it gave the old man joy
To fight a passage through the crowd and barrack for his boy.
A friend came up and said to me, ‘Put out your muscles, John,
And pull them to eternity—your guvnor’s looking on.’
I paused before I grasped the rope, and glanced around the place,
And, foremost in the waiting crowd, I saw the old man’s face.
My mates were strong and plucky chaps, but very soon I knew
That our opponents had the weight and strength to pull them through;
The boys were losing surely and defeat was very near,
When, high above the mighty roar, I heard the old man cheer!
I felt my muscles swelling when the old man cheer’d for me,
I felt as though I’d burst my heart, or gain the victory!
I shouted, ‘Now! Together!’ and a steady strain replied,
And, with a mighty heave, I helped to beat the other side!
Oh! how the old man shouted in his wild, excited joy!
I thought he’d burst his boiler then, a-cheering for his boy;
The chaps, oh! how they cheered me, while the girls all smiled so kind,
They praised me, little dreaming, how the old man pulled behind.
. . . . .
He barracks for his boy no more—his grave is old and green,
And sons have grown up round me since he vanished from the scene;
But, when the cause is worthy where I fight for victory,
In fancy still I often hear the old man cheer for me.

Enchanted Glen
The king sat on his lavish throne
and ruled his people all alone,
no queen at his side only an empty chair there.
His would be queen a princess fair
had run off with a tinker from across the square.
The crowd stood a gasp as the tinker
on his white charger rode passed
the princess fair clutched in his arms
smiling face filled with her charms.
They rode into the enchanted glen
and were never seen again.
Sometimes on cold and lonely nights
you can hear the king’s men galloping after them.
They too rode into the enchanted glen
and were never seen again.
All that is heard is their ghostly horses in flight
on cold and lonely nights.
No one rides into the glen no more
to discover the secrets it stores,
those who have tried
like the tinker, princess fair
and the king’s men
where never heard of again.
The enchanted glen remains quiet
with its secrets it will not tell
except the echo of ghostly hoof beats
on cold and lonely nights.

So You Died
so you died!
when i heard,
i cried.
you were apple
of my eyes,
love of my life.
when you
left my side
i died.
i died
when you died.

Depicting Reflection
I gaze at the looking glass one final time
As I hope for some veritable truth to find
But the cracks run along my face in jagged lines
As the mirror cracks from side to side
Peering into the cold, dark faceted eyes
A broken poppet stares back from inside
And I catch a reflection of that I despise
As the mirror cracks from side to side
The scarred reflection is now forsaken
And many are the times my heart has died
But now it is my soul that is breakin'
As the mirror cracks from side to side
I gaze at the looking glass one final time
As the mirror cracks from side to side

Condolence
They hurried here, as soon as you had died,
Their faces damp with haste and sympathy,
And pressed my hand in theirs, and smoothed my knee,
And clicked their tongues, and watched me, mournful-eyed.
Gently they told me of that Other Side-
How, even then, you waited there for me,
And what ecstatic meeting ours would be.
Moved by the lovely tale, they broke, and cried.
And when I smiled, they told me I was brave,
And they rejoiced that I was comforted,
And left to tell of all the help they gave.
But I had smiled to think how you, the dead,
So curiously preoccupied and grave,
Would laugh, could you have heard the things they said.

Famous Final Scene
Words and music by bob seger
Think in terms of bridges burned
Think of seasons that must end
See the rivers rise and fall
They will rise and fall again
Everything must have an end
Like an ocean to a shore
Like a river to a stream
Like a river to a stream
Its the famous final scene
And how you tried to make it work
Did you really think it could
How you tried to make it last
Did you really think it would
Like a guest who stayed too long
Now its finally time to leave
Yes, its finally time to leave
Take it calmly and serene
Its the famous final scene
Its been coming on so long
You were just the last to know
Its been a long time since youve smiled
Seems like oh so long ago
Now the stage has all been set
And the nights are growing cold
Soon the winter will be here
And theres no one warm to hold
Now the lines have all been read
And you knew them all by heart
Now you move toward the door
Here it comes the hardest part
Try the handle of the road
Feeling different feeling strange
This can never be arranged
As the light fades from the screen
From the famous final scene

Wildside
Words and music: lindsay west, mike reno, jimmy lee douglas
Ill try to tell you cause
I know youll understand
The pleasure you measure
Comes from my first command
Everybody gotta listen to me
Cause its time that we hit the streets
Its like no other place girl
Youll have me whole world at your feel
Out on the wild side
Yeah, livin all your fantasies
On me wild side
You can come, but you cant leave
With one shot you feel hot
No one can slow you down
Our days are bound to change
And tonight were gonna hove it all
You are wild and you are willing
But ore you ready to sacrifice
Now youre headin in the right direction
But youre gonna hove to pay the price
On the wild side
Livin all your fantasies
On the wild side
Yeah, you can come but you cant leave
Youre wild and you are willing
But are you ready to sacrifice
Now youre headin in the right direction
But youre gonna hove to pay the price
Out on the wild side
Yeah, livin all your fantasies
On the wild side
You can come but you cant leave
On the wild side
Yeah, livin all your fantasies
On the wild side
Oh, you can come but you cant leave
On the wild side, wild side
Wild side, wild side
Wild side, wild side
Wild side, wild side

Leave A Candle
Leave a candle burning bright
So that I may see tonight
The darkness pushing all around
Drowning out my every sound
Leave a candle on the sill
If no one does so then I will
I'll light the candle on my own
And I'll fight on all alone
Leave a candle let it sing
Else I can't stop my cutting
My blood will flow out, drip, and fall
As shadows move across the wall
Leave a candle to the end
It shall be my only friend
Let it burn untill my death
And blow it out with my last breath
Leave a candle in the dark
So it leaves it's glowing mark
And guides me to my final rest
Cause I failed the living test

I stand at your side.
I stand near you every day.
I was with you yestuarday and I'll be here tomorrow too.
I know you think suicide is the end,
But it's not belive me it's not.
I walk with you everyday And I wish you would'nt cry.
I saw you at my grave to day it's nice and tidy.
I see you lay the flowers for me.
How I wish I could tell you that I'm ok
I wish some how I could let you know I'm happy and free.
I see sat in the chair with my photo.
And I see your tears flow.
I see you with another night of crying.
I never wanted to cuase you this pain.
I whisper to you Mum I'm ok.
It seems you heard cos you looked up and smiled.
And every time I look in on you know I see your smile.
But I am allways at your side.

Maids In May
Three maids there were in meadow bright,
The eldest less then seven;
Their eyes were dancing with delight,
And innocent as Heaven.
Wild flowers they wound with tender glee,
Their cheeks with rapture rosy;
All radiant they smiled at me,
When I besought a posy.
She gave me a columbine,
And one a poppy brought me;
The tiniest, with eyes ashine,
A simple daisy sought me.
And as I went my sober way,
I heard their careless laughter;
Their hearts too happy with to-day
To care for what comes after.
. . . . . . .
That's long ago; they're gone, all three,
To walk amid the shadows;
Forgotten is their lyric glee
In still and sunny meadows.
For Columbine loved life too well,
And went adventure fairing;
And sank into the pit of hell,
And passed but little caring.
While Poppy was a poor man's wife,
And children had a-plenty;
And went, worn out with toil and strife
When she was five-and-twenty.
And Daisy died while yet a child,
As fragile blossoms perish,
When Winter winds are harsh and wild,
With none to shield and cherish.
Ah me! How fate is dark and dour
To little Children of the Poor.

End Matters
We strive to end all matters at the start,
Like the arrow that finishes and exerts,
Must the final scene be of the dart?
I see wonders and forests of trees apart,
They struggle and inhabit the comforts,
We strive to end all matters at the start.
Likely outcomes reside in the cart,
Rolling into the street that reasserts,
Must the final scene be of the dart?
My living is called a sentence to depart,
Mine is the life that is of introverts,
We strive to end all matters at the start.
I catch the idiots of the hour in a flowchart,
Forgetting the tree of animals with efforts,
Must the final scene be of the dart?
I gather storms and saucers in what heart?
The real question lies in megahertz;
We strive to end all matters at the start,
Must the final scene be of the dart?

Beyond Belief
“You’ll never believe, what it is that I see”
Said the old man just before he died
He squeezed my hand tightly, as he whispered lightly
And he pulled me down to his side
“I wouldn’t have believed, ” he said with a sigh
As I put my ear close to his lips
His dim eyes brightened, as his hand slowly rose
he pointed into space with thin fingertips
“It’s not…not at all, what you’d think it to be, ”
He whispered, as his hand… slowly fell to the bed
“We were wrong, all of us wrong, It goes on you see! ”
Barely audible now, slowly lowered his head
I put my hand on his brow, my cheek against his… tenderly
I could sense the ebb of his final tide
“You’d never, …ever believe, what it is that I see, ”
His eyes closed…he smiled…then he died

Doomed to Die?
That old man over there looks a bit of a freak
Thought the woman sitting in the opposite chair,
He just sits there fidgeting and he doesn't speak
Wearing an expression of absolute despair!
Perhaps he's just fallen out with his wife
Or had some bad news but what do I care?
It's not up to me to rearrange his life,
There are people with problems almost everywhere.
I think I'll go out for a cigarette
She decided and smiled, for a bit of 'fresh air',
It's hardly time for my appointment yet
And I'm getting the creeps with him sitting there!
As she stood outside smoking she heard a loud thud
And went back in and saw him lying there,
Twisted and crumpled and covered in blood,
It was over his clothes and smudged in his hair.
'Quick! Phone the police! ' she heard somebody shout
So she made a quick exit and ran down the street,
'I don't care what they think but I've got to get out
There's a killer round here that I don't want to meet! ! '
'You'd better come down to the station, dear, '
The policeman said with that look in his eye
That told her he thought her behaviour quear
And her claim to innocence was merely a lie.
'It's really got nothing to do with me! '
She exclaimed in frustration and started to cry,
'Please let me go home and cook the kids tea,
It's a terrible shock to see someone die! '
Later that evening as she lay in her bed
She pictured the scene and still wondered why
The victim had seemed already half-dead
With the strange light of madness that shone in his eye.
'Perhaps he deserved it, or welcomed his death,
Perhaps he was paying his ultimate debt,
Whatever it was he's breathed his last breath,
It's a day I will always want to forget! '
In her dreams she was standing overlooking the shore
On a headland when suddenly he appeared at her side,
'I can't stand it! ' he said, 'I don't want to live anymore! '
And he threw himself down to the sea and died.

Keep that candle burnin bright, mama
Ill be kind of late tonight, mama
Theres a yellow moon above me, mama

Tonight
blew, blew away
but i don't wanna fade
blew, blew, oooh
and if you love her
you know it will come true
and if you need her
you know that she'll be there
stay awake, i lie here
with her and i fall
and when i wake inside you
i know you know i'm yours
blew, blew away
but I don't wanna fade
blew, blew, oooh
and if you're sad, too
until the angel sings and touches you
don't confuse my only life
i said blew, and please don't ever leave
And i will greive, and (re)member thee
Hope to meet you there
(solo)
i wanna let her know
And i wanna let her go
i wanna let her know
That i love her so
i'm blew, blew, blew away
but I don't wanna-
blew, I love you
blew

One Of The Crowd
(lowe/tennant)
--------------------
When I go fishing with my rod
I often get that urge
To fall asleep a sleep so deep that
No-one notices me
Dont want anyone to know my name
Dont want to get a fax
Dont want to meet the royal family
Just cause Ive paid my tax
Dont wanna be seen or heard
Dont want to shout out loud
I want to be part of the herd
One of the crowd
Dressing individually doesnt impress me
I think that its pathetic
Following fashion, I just like it
Dont i?
Dont wanna be seen or heard
Dont want to shout out loud
I want to be part of the herd
One of the crowd
(one of the crowd)
(one of the crowd)
Fishing
Fishing
I never fight, but every night
I think its gonna be alright
I think I might think in spite of
Every - thing
Dont wanna be seen or heard
Dont want to shout out loud
I want to be part of the herd
One of the crowd
One of the crowd
One of the crowd
One of the crowd

The Poet’s Hat
The rain had fallen, the Poet arose,
He passed through the doorway into the street,
A strong wind lifted his hat from his head,
And he uttered some words that were far from sweet.
And then he started to follow the chase,
And put on a spurt that was wild and fleet,
It made the people pause in a crowd,
And lay odds as to which would beat.
The street cad scoffed as he hunted the hat,
The errand-boy shouted hooray!
The scavenger stood with his broom in his hand,
And smiled in a very rude way;
And the clergyman thought, 'I have heard many words,
But never, until to-day,
Did I hear any words that were quite so bad
As I heard that young man say.'

Walk On The Wild Side
Holly came from miami f.l.a.
Hitch-hiked her way across the u.s.a.
Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her leg and then he was a she
She says, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
Said, hey honey, take a walk on the wild side
Candy came from out on the island
In the backroom she was everybodys darling
But she never lost her head
Even when she was given head
She says, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
Said, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
And the coloured girls go
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Little joe never once gave it away
Everybody had to pay and pay
A hustle here and a hustle there
New york city is the place where they said
Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
I said hey joe, take a walk on the wild side
Sugar plum fairy came and hit the streets
Lookin for soul food and a place to eat
Went to the apollo
You should have seen him go go go
They said, hey sugar, take a walk on the wild side
I said, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
All right, huh
Jackie is just speeding away
Thought she was james dean for a day
Then I guess she had to crash
Valium would have helped that dash
She said, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
I said, hey honey, take a walk on the wild side
And the coloured girls say
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
