On Mumbai Serial Blast
Who are these harbingers of terror?
Who are these enemies of humanity?
Who are these vampires of destruction?
Whose hearts don't melt at the screams of innocent people,
Whose eyes don't shed tears at mutilated corpse,
Whose sentiments have turned indifferent to weal and woe,
Don't they have parents?
Don't they have children?
Don't they have brothers and sisters
Wives and relatives?
Then why they play the game of terror?
No one can justify this dreadful act,
No religion on the earth supports terror,
It is a deliberate attempt to endanger the unity and integrity of the country,
But our unity is not strained,
It runs in our veins in the form of blood,
Howsoever hard they may hit,
Their mal intentions will crumble away after colliding with our resolve,
And ultimately we shall emerge as winners,
And they will definitely come to grief.

Abba Sigh
In the midst of terror
Dry bones sing
Earth vomits
Innocent blood shed
Creation shudder
Heart stained
Where greed left its mark
Human predators multiplied
Canibalism on the rise
With eyes open
Compassion in a casket died
In the midst of terror
Rivers flow
Babies cry
Angels spit
The wicked man dread
Abba sigh
Time is tense
Air is stiff
Lungs collaspse

Yet another Blast...
Strangely enough
This world is ridden
With vampires
Vampires not interested
In sucking blood out of you
But interested in spilling your blood
On the surface of the earth
To create gore and terror
Whether in stark day light
Or during a normal night
Their fangs are hidden
From all tech-savvy gadgets
They feign innocence
As they casually stroll
Amidst thick crowds
Once the job is done
They vanish as if at the day break...

I've turned insensitive
To death
I'm now sensitive
To life
Of late
I anticipate death
At every corner
To me theses days
Life is but a distant cry
Why shed tears
Over the inevitable?
And commonplace?
Why regale
Over what passes off
At an abrupt turn?
Somewhere
In some corner of the earth
Collective wails rise and fall
Deafening the earth's ears

War of Terror
They do not belong to the earth
Hold them through their backs
Rape their women
Crush their children
With iron hand
With heavy boots
With bombs and planes
They do not know civil liberties
Join hands
In brotherhood
In one creed
Protect the rich
Cross and crescent
In one hand
Horns of the helmets
In another
Prepare your swords
For the slaughter
Carbon your faces
In black
Perpetuate your rule of terror
Indefinitely
You have stolen their freedom
And the day
When the flood of tears and blood
Shall raise them up
To hold you on your neck
But
Kill them rob them
They do not belong to the earth

Unity
As I watched the inauguration
of the forty fourth President of the United States.
I waited eagerly to listen to his address.
He spoke of many things,
but the message of unity came out loud and clear.
A unity between all peoples
regardless of their colour, religion or creed.
Working together we could create a better world
for our children and their children.
As he spoke I agreed with his every word
and could only hope and pray he was right.
We live in a troubled world
and only when the walls of hatred crumble
will the unity begin.
Then the violence will subside
and unity will heal all the open wounds.
Let us pray that day will not be too far in the future.

Under constant fear
We are living under constant fear
The crowded market places has brunt to bear
It is easy target for terrorists to strike
It is scene of the day and much to our dislike
Some of the disgruntled forces think otherwise
Their ideology is based on weapons to improvise
They think people can be subdued by violence
There terror has to be spread on large scale hence
There have no religion to follow
Some of outdated customs forcefully to allow
No voice against their action to be tolerated
Cut the throats and leave the body mutilated
Some of the provisions made for spread of the terror
The arms, ammunition and training provided to minors
The brain wash and untruth spread in the minds
Where can one survive and only terror to find?
It is not the religion alone behind the game
The age old custom and monopoly to blame
They have no hesitation to kill a person
What will they offer in His audience any valid reason?
It is alright to go in and praise martyrdom
It is essential and necessary for any freedom
It requires sacrifice if not to be called zero
The nation pays homage to such brave heroes
No nation can be cowed down by suicide attacks
It speaks of cowardice act and generally lacks
The strong resolve to attain the desired aim
How can they seriously come forward to claim?
Some futile steps here and there can not weaken
The nationalist sprit can not be shaken
It will strengthen the opinion against them on the contrary
These steps are unwarranted and totally unnecessary
We have witnessed enough of bloodshed
Now there is no scope for counting the dead
How many lives can you take by surprise?
There is no more gain left to summarize
No one may buy the arguments
This is real freedom fighter’s movement
The independence can not be won by wanton killing
It will add to woes and only grief filling
The world at large has realized the point
Some of the nations have yet to join
To offer meaningful solutions to the fight
The honorable place has to be given to the right
We may leave behind troubled land
Burning with fire and no one is to be trusted as friends
History will never pardon us for such a fluid and dangerous situation
How much blood might have been shed till then for such continuation?

Shock And Terror
the psychotic dress the senseless feature
it terrifies every living creature
predictability is wearing thin
groundbreaking practice for the preacher
clowns mortified by my expression
breathing new life into invention
and gagging the maggots with a weary hand
has failed to leave any impression
the shock and terror keeps me sane
the shock and terror keeps me sane
does anybody feel the same?
the shock and terror keeps me sane
up now for seven days and wired
the concept of sleep is way too tired
and I've dialed in a plan to reinstate
your sense of humor has expired
the shock and terror keeps me sane
the shock and terror keeps me sane
does anybody feel the same?
the shock and terror keeps me sane

Let's sing together one fragrant song!
When a Man cries in pain
Please do not ignore him
And if you laugh louder
Just watch outside
As someone may laments
in a corner?
We're Kings and Queens
Mothers and Fathers
Brothers and Sisters
Friends and not Enemies.
World is a one Yard!
And please do not make barbed wire fences.
Heart is the Religion of Human beings
And when it's pierced so painful!
Let sing together hand-in-hand
And we must marry each other for good
Ridiculous embargoes and taboos the old kites
Must send to the transparent tattered sky.
There're only two nations in the precarious World
A Man and a Woman?
Humanity is the Religion!
In the human sensitive veins
Vermilion blood river flows?
We purposely make this paradise Earth a living Hell!
Instead of rage bullets
Fix the harmonious strings into your precious metallic guns
And sing together in high pitch.
We're Mothers and Fathers
Brothers and Sisters
Kings and Queens
Friends but not enemies
Fences and quarrels no need
And World is a one Yard!
*A humble dedication to 9/11 victims and their families! Almost ten years passed but still we carry the pain in our bleeding hearts?

Iraq Today
bulldog faced
bulldozed, face
flattened, dried
and creased
to a patch,
an aching patch
large as iraq
tears flow
swift as justice
a noose to
stamp a
committment
not to return
to terror
floods with blood
distraught land
that echoes
prayers
as much as
screams and
cries with the
road to balance
hearts dammed
like the Tigris
heaven only
knows the secrets
of enemies and friends
in a fractious land
the mighty river
tarries out to sea
without a care
looters, bulliers, saviours,
enemies, or invaders
i recall hamurabi
and and his honeyed sumeria
where justice were
chiselled hard as stones

A Dragon and a Hero
Note: This is a two-part acrostic poem.
Death and destruction descends like a storm -
...creature of legend and mythical form.
Reaping the lives of the women and men -
...flames of the winged one scorching their skin.
Agony, terror and hopelessness reigns -
...children are crying with fear in their veins.
Giant and scaly, with hell colored eyes,
...beast of the ancient rains fire from the skies.
Only the strongest survive the attack -
...dreading the day that the creature comes back.
No man or weapon has challenged the scourge.
...hope that a hero will someday emerge.
Hope brings a hero to vanquish a beast.
Evil had driven its blood thirsty feast.
Ruthless and epic - the battle campaign.
Ode to the hero - the dragon is slain.

Poverty: War Of Today
POVERTY: WAR OF TODAY
melvin banggollay
Poverty abound everywhere
Even in paradise of plenty
As long as there are brothers
Who seldom eat sweet honey,
as long as there are sisters
under prostitution's malady,
when children are still under
abuse and exploitation by many
and as long as there are disaster
jeopardizing life and property.
Poverty is a war and disaster
Hounting every nation today
that can't be won by a leader
without the help of everybody
as it is a war arm with disaster
that can only be hurdled with unity,
frugality, thriftiness with power,
economical spending and industry,
good governance by our leaders
with an undying vow to foster unity
peace and cooperation as brothers
among anyone to preserve humanity.

Terror-struck?
When terror strikes your very doors,
Unleashing deaths like ‘bolts from blue’,
And taking all by surprise too,
Just ask yourself why this happens?
When terror struck your neighbor’s doors,
And you defended militants,
Not bringing them to justice fast –
God measures you in like measure?
No sane of hearts will terrorize!
No human beings good will kill;
No hate-less souls can kill by scores;
All those on earth must love brethren.
Death is the same that comes to all;
Death is tragic when premature;
Death of children is heinous crime;
Just evil minds car-bomb brothers!
Terrorists cause panic, chaos;
Terrorists spread fear through bullets;
Terrorists gain, when we divide;
No God will support evil-minds!
Let world unite to fight terror!
Let none protect a terrorist;
Let lives of citizens be safe;
Let’s value lives across the globe!

Sestina: War
There is nothing like war
But a fire
Plaguing the land
Spreading rapidly
Hurting those who cant prevent pain
Destroying those who are innocent
The destruction of fire
Guns spraying bullets rapidly
Blood seeping into the land
Not only death, but torture and pain
Killing those who are innocent
All for the cause of war
A marsh of green land
Destroyed by red fire
Turning a once plushed land to char, rapidly
And bringing pain to the innocent
To further on the war
For a point to cause national pain
News spreading rapidly
Spreading across to many in a land
About the death of which is war
Bringing to good hearts, pain
And of the upcoming apocalyptic fire
Bringing terror to the innocent
Families who can’t avoid the war
Getting wiped out rapidly
Through screams and pain
From the soldiers of hells fire
Leaving the innocent
Six feet under the land
Nations defeated rapidly
Leaving once great nationed lands
Charred by evils fire
Wiping out the innocent
Causing people and economic pain
All for a man made war
But what good comes out of war?
Though it causes pain
In the long run, you’ve freed the innocent

They Thought I Was A Thief Too
They thought I was a thief too
Get those handcuffs jiffily
Let us brace him
How I quaked!
In terror we pray
Gnash our teeth
Our knees knock,
Our hearts resigned to fate.
It was my voice and identification
That affected my release
I was simply lucky
One of them knew me.
In terror we pray
Gnash our teeth
Our knees knock,
Our hearts resigned to fate.
Now I can exhale
I came closely calamity
Jaws of exclusion closed in on me
But Samson's grip loosed them again.
In terror we pray
Gnash our teeth
Our knees knock,
Our hearts resigned to fate.
I swing and exalt like Lekeleke
But I also quiz;
If God dwells in thick darkness,
Must I too?
In terror we pray
Gnash our teeth
Our knees knock,
Our hearts resigned to fate.

Unity is the most important thing on the road to stamping out terror. You need global rules of law and order, and they have to be enforced. Start with that principle.

America When Will You Come Of Age?
America when
will you come of age
realize as God said
“As you judge
as you do unto others
so will you be
judged so will it
be done unto you”?
A little faith compassion humanity
goes an awfully long way
wins honest hearts minds sincerity.
Why make such resolute enemies
with inhuman terror tactics?
“when love thy neighbour as thyself”
“do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
Wins international domestic good will
wins hearts minds of good people globally.
Why make war on an entire religion
thinly disguised as crusade war on terror?
Have we not had enough crusades?
Once America stood as a nation of justice
honoured The Geneva Conventions!
Honoured International Law! But alas
political dementia seems to have set in
alarm bells are going off world wide
global deterioration scale sees reasoning
judgement personality proudly espousing
“we can attack anyone anywhere without
real provocation we can propaganda cause!
we need no justification international support
we can attack anywhere any when yes we can”
hubris is a serious disease staining white house
Once the Ten Commandment were displayed
in schools public buildings honoured in high
office now America walks with a different God.

The Sunderland Calamity
'Twas in the town of Sunderland, and in the year of 1883,
That about 200 children were launch'd into eternity
While witnessing an entertainment in Victoria Hall,
While they, poor little innocents, to God for help did call.
The entertainment consisted of conjuring, and the ghost illusion play,
Also talking waxworks, and living marionettes, and given by Mr. Fay;
And on this occasion, presents were to be given away,
But in their anxiety of getting presents they wouldn't brook delay,
And that is the reason why so many lives have been taken away;
But I hope their precious souls are in heaven to-day.
As soon as the children began to suspect
That they would lose their presents by neglect,
They rush'd from the gallery, and ran down the stairs pell-mell,
And trampled one another to death, according as they fell.
As soon as the catastrophe became known throughout the boro'
The people's hearts were brim-full of sorrow,
And parents rush'd to the Hall terror-stricken and wild,
And each one was anxious to find their own child.
Oh! it must have been a most horrible sight
To see the dear little children struggling with all their might
To get out at the door at the foot of the stair,
While one brave little boy did repeat the Lord's Prayer.
The innocent children were buried seven or eight layers deep,
The sight was heart-rending and enough to make one weep;
It was a most affecting spectacle and frightful to behold
The corpse of a little boy not above four years old,
Who had on a top-coat much too big for him,
And his little innocent face was white and grim,
And appearing to be simply in a calm sleep-
The sight was enough to make one's flesh to creep.
The scene in the Hall was heart-sickening to behold,
And enough to make one's blood run cold.
To see the children's faces, blackened, that were trampled to death,
And their parents lamenting o'er them with bated breath.
Oh! it was most lamentable for to hear
The cries of the mothers for their children dear;
And many mothers swooned in grief away
At the sight of their dead children in grim array.
There was a parent took home a boy by mistake,
And after arriving there his heart was like to break
When it was found to be the body of a neighbour's child;
The parent stood aghast and was like to go wild.
A man and his wife rush'd madly in the Hall,
And loudly in grief on their children they did call,
And the man searched for his children among the dead
Seemingly without the least fear or dread.
And with his finger pointing he cried. "That's one! two!
Oh! heaven above, what shall I do;"
And still he kept walking on and murmuring very low.
Until he came to the last child in the row;
Then he cried, "Good God! all my family gone
And now I am left to mourn alone;"
And staggering back he cried, "Give me water, give me water!"
While his heart was like to break and his teeth seem'd to chatter.
Oh, heaven! it must have been most pitiful to see
Fathers with their dead children upon their knee
While the blood ran copiously from their mouths and ears
And their parents shedding o'er them hot burning tears.
I hope the Lord will comfort their parents by night and by day,
For He gives us life and He takes it away,
Therefore I hope their parents will put their trust in Him,
Because to weep for the dead it is a sin.
Her Majesty's grief for the bereaved parents has been profound,
And I'm glad to see that she has sent them £50;
And I hope from all parts of the world will flow relief
To aid and comfort the bereaved parents in their grief.
