So called...
was called
was calling for too long
was called far too much
was summoned in a song
was squatted in a touch
was whispered through the storm
was craving the deepest word
was calling voices warm
was not left to die unheard
was cherished cave deep darkness
was lit up in a flame
was given in a smileness
a long forgotten name
was picked up from the floor
was hung onto the wall
was asked to be no more
the haunt of a dead long call
was made a picture map
was given a nice warm hand
was never allowed to slap
but a handshake to befriend
was taken down to earth
was given flesh and bone
was never killed at birth
was never left alone
was never dying nameless
left in tokens of a desire
was never burned quite blameless
it lived on sacred fire

A Far Cry
In the dead of night
On the wings of the wind
I hear the ocean bell
With a flash of light
In the beat of the dark
The sound I know so well
I shall never forget you
It's been so long
I should never have left you
The call so strong
[chorus]
It's a far cry from a wild world
It want to get back to you
Such a long road, to the homeland
I must make my way to a far cry
From the chords of the earth
To the depths of the sea
I will return
As I look to the hill
Through the eyes of the storm
I touch the flame
I shall never forget you
It's been so long
I should never have left you
The call so strong
[chorus]
It's such a far cry

Your Mistake
Hello again
I guess you're in trouble
You pretend that nothing's wrong
You call me up
When you've got a problem
Silence when the problems gone
You think I'm so easy
But you're never further from the truth
Every time it rings
I know it's you
There's nothing left to say
This torch has burned away
You took too long I could not wait
I do believe there's nothing left to say
All your life
So much attention
A camera flash and you turn your head
I'll tell you now
Would it make any difference
You never listened to a word I said
Always there when you need me
But you're never here when I need you
I can't be your friend
'cos I want to be your fool
There's nothing left to say
This ship has long since sailed away
I picked up my pride and I'm on my way
I believe there's nothing left to say
Except - It's your mistake
It's your mistake

A Hope Carol
A night was near, a day was near,
Between a day and night
I heard sweet voices calling clear,
Calling me:
I heard a whirr of wing on wing,
But could not see the sight;
I long to see my birds that sing,
I long to see.
Below the stars, beyond the moon,
Between the night and day
I heard a rising falling tune
Calling me:
I long to see the pipes and strings
Whereon such minstrels play;
I long to see each face that sings,
I long to see.
Today or may be not today,
Tonight or not tonight,
All voices that command or pray
Calling me,
Shall kindle in my soul such fire
And in my eyes such light
That I shall see that heart's desire
I long to see.

Tis Breath, Then...
tis breath, then...
wrought with infinite longing,
that called light from darkness,
and being from non-being.
that, spent as wind,
calling forth waves from oceans,
calling forth land from water,
blowing dry and forming.
tis breath, then...
calling male and female to join.
calling trees and mountains to tangle.
defining hill and valley,
both far and near.
calling forth fire from imagination,
calling thought from inertness.
calling music from stillness.
tis breath, then...
calling tribe unto tribe.
creating gods from reflection.
calling souls from dead bones,
naming names, defining eternity,
calling forth desire, hunger, and wonder.
calling forth construction and ambition...
calling forth ego!

The Wilderness
Come away! come away! there’s a frost along the marshes,
And a frozen wind that skims the shoal where it shakes the dead black water;
There’s a moan across the lowland and a wailing through the woodland
Of a dirge that sings to send us back to the arms of those that love us.
There is nothing left but ashes now where the crimson chills of autumn
Put off the summer’s languor with a touch that made us glad
For the glory that is gone from us, with a flight we cannot follow,
To the slopes of other valleys and the sounds of other shores.
Come away! come away! you can hear them calling, calling,
Calling us to come to them, and roam no more.
Over there beyond the ridges and the land that lies between us,
There’s an old song calling us to come!
Come away! come away!—for the scenes we leave behind us
Are barren for the lights of home and a flame that’s young forever;
And the lonely trees around us creak the warning of the night-wind,
That love and all the dreams of love are away beyond the mountains.
The songs that call for us to-night, they have called for men before us,
And the winds that blow the message, they have blown ten thousand years;
But this will end our wander-time, for we know the joy that waits us
In the strangeness of home-coming, and a woman’s waiting eyes.
Come away! come away! there is nothing now to cheer us—
Nothing now to comfort us, but love’s road home:—
Over there beyond the darkness there’s a window gleams to greet us,
And a warm hearth waits for us within.
Come away! come away!—or the roving-fiend will hold us,
And make us all to dwell with him to the end of human faring:
There are no men yet may leave him when his hands are clutched upon them,
There are none will own his enmity, there are none will call him brother.
So we’ll be up and on the way, and the less we boast the better
For the freedom that God gave us and the dread we do not know:—
The frost that skips the willow-leaf will again be back to blight it,
And the doom we cannot fly from is the doom we do not see.
Come away! come away! there are dead men all around us—
Frozen men that mock us with a wild, hard laugh
That shrieks and sinks and whimpers in the shrill November rushes,
And the long fall wind on the lake.

Repression
Let not one word
be left unsaid.
Let not one song
be left unsung
or ever hung
out to dry.
So no one can ask
how or why?
For they both were left
in a head to die.
Speak your word.
Sing your song.
To keep it mute
in a head too long
leaves a vaccum
out in space
and inner frustration
left in place.

The Black Bordered Letter
An’ SO ’e’s dead in London,
An’ answered to the call,
An’ trotted through the Long Street,
With ’earse an’ plumes an’ all?
We was village boys an’ brothers—
We was warm as we could be,
In the milk-walk an’ the fried fish,
Up in London, ’im an’ me.
We was warm,
We was warm,
As we ’ad always been;
We never ’ad a dry word
Till she come between.
I lived round Windsor Terrace,
An’ ’im across the wye,
An’ when I sailed a emigrant
We never said good-bye!
He wos better than a brother—
Wot you Bushmen call a mate.
(Did he reach the rylwye stytion,
As they told me, just too late!)
We was warm,
We was warm,
As pals was ever seen;
We never ’ad a dry word
Till she come between.
I meant to go back ’ome again,
I meant to write to-night;
I meant to write by every mail,
But I thought ’e oughter write.
An’ now ’e’s left North London—
For a better place, perhaps—
She’s flauntin’ in ’er widder weeds,
With eyes on other chaps.
We was warm,
We was warm,
As we ’ad always been;
We never ’ad a dry word
Till she come between.
Oh! tongues is bad in wimmin,
When wimmin’s tongues is bad!
For they’ll part men an’ brothers
World oceans wide, my lad!
There was seven years between us,
An’ fifteen thousand mile,
An’ now there’s death an’ sorrer
For ever an’ awhile.
We was warm,
We was warm,
As two was ever seen;
We never ’ad a dry word
Till she come between.

The Calling
Feel the calling of a miracle
In the presence of the word
Now we hold the right to rearrange
How the stories can be heard
In the beginning is the future
And the future is at hand
Ill be calling voices of africa
Be the rhythm to the plan
From the congo to lenasia
Be the writing on the wall
Ill be calling the colors of india
See the asian life explode
Chorus
Head into the headlight
Dont turn from the rain
Theres a fire raging somewhere near
Liek a longtime friend whos
Seen it darker than ebony
Take off on the turnpike
(asking for the first call)
Give me more of the same
(asking for a song)
Theres a fire burning in my heart again
Ill be calling the dragons of china
See the dancers of the nile
See the wings of change are on display
This revelation mine
Feel the calling of the miracle
In the presence of the word
Chorus
Feel the calling of a miracle
The revelation mine

Sweet Old World
(lucinda williams)
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
The breath from your own lips, the touch of fingertips
A sweet and tender kiss
The sound of a midnight train, wearing someones ring
Someone calling your name
Somebody so warm cradled in your arm
Didnt you think you were worth anything
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
Millions of us in love, promises made good
Your own flesh and blood
Looking for some truth, dancing with no shoes
The beat, the rhythm, the blues
The pounding of your hearts drum together with another one
Didnt you think anyone loved you
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world

We were young,
And none of us know quite what to say,
But the feeling moved
Among us in silence anyway.
Slowly we had made
Quite a change--
Somewhere we had crossed a big line.
Down upon our knees,
We had tasted holy wine,
And no one could sway us
In a life time.
Purer than the sky,
Behind the rain.
Falling down all around us,
Calling out from a boundless love.
Love had lit a fire;
We were the flame.
Burning into the darkness,
Shining out from inside us.
Not a word.
And no one had to say we were changed.
Nothing else we lived through
Would ever be same the same,
Knowing the truth
That we had gained.
Purer than the sky,
Behind the rain.
Falling down all around us,
Calling out from a boundless love.
Love had lit a fire;
We were the flame.
Burning into the darkness,
Shining out from inside us.
Stay with me.
Make it ever new,
So time will not undo,
As the years go by,
How I need to see
Thats still me.
Falling down all around us,
Calling out from a boundless love.
Yeah....
Burning into the darkness,
Shining out from inside us.
Purer than the sky,
Behind the rain.
Falling down all around us,
Calling out from a boundless love.
Love has lit a fire;
I am the flame.
Burning into the darkness,
Shining out from inside us.
Purer than the sky,
Behind the rain.
Falling down all around us,
Calling out from a boundless love. (ohh....)
Love has lit a fire;
I am the flame.
Burning into the darkness,
Shining out from inside us.
Purer than the sky,
Behind the rain.
Falling down all around us,
Calling out from a boundless love.

Never Is A Long Time
You build it up and tear it down, theres no reason to follow you. you left the song without a sound, you left the story I made for you. softly angels bow and cry in the stillness of the night.
Never is a long time - goodbye. no answers for the asking. its a long time - goodbye. no mercy for the aching. its a long time - oh I see no light on the forsaken. never is a long time - goodb
Ets spend the night when this dream has come to an end.
Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cry, and yes, Ive cried over you. youve left me blind in paradise. youve left me hungering for the touch of you. snow white angels run and hide in the black
Of the night.
Never is a long time...

Calling Back My Spirit
Something has been sleeping in me, weeping in me, creeping in me
Something has been crying in me, sighing in me, dying in me
In the righting of this wrong, I may have to fight a long awaited duel
Im calling back my spirit from you, Im calling back what is my own.
Something has been burning in me, churning in me, turning in me
Something has been weeping in me, creeping in me, awaking in me
And in the execution of this task, I may come to see my enemys mask
Slip and fall
Im calling back my spirit from you, Im calling back what my own
Im calling back, Im calling back,
Im calling back my spirit from you, Im calling back what is my own
The storm of your outrage seethes and whips around my brittle bones
Anger and violence erupt from your lips and your cover is blown!
I seek the sound of your name
I stand in my own footsteps and I claim my power
Im calling back my spirit from you, Im calling back what is my own
Im calling back, Im calling back, Im calling back, Im calling back,
Im calling back my spirit from you now!, Im calling back what is my own

Long Way From Home
(coverdale)
I would do anything I could to be near you,
Walk all night in the pouring rain
To be at your side
My heart is aching for love,
My bodys shaking with desire
Believe me, baby, when I say
I will drink you dry
I would do anything to be near you,
Youre everything any man could claim
I see your face in the night,
I hear you calling my name
But, its a long long way from home,
Im just trying to get a message to you,
Its a long long way from home,
An I dont know what Im gonna do
Id been looking for love for so long when I found you,
Too many years I walked alone
When I touch you inside I feel you burning me with fire,
Believe me baby when I say
I will feed the flame
I would do anything to be near you,
Walk all night in the pouring rain
I see your face in the night,
I hear you calling my name
But, its a long long way from home,
Im just trying to get a message to you,
Its a long long way from home,
An I dont know what Im gonna do
I would do anything to be near you,
Youre everything any man could claim
I see your face in the night,
I hear you calling my name
But, its a long long way from home,
Im just trying to get a message to you,
Its a long long way from home,
An I dont know what Im gonna do
I would do anything I could to be near you,
Check in on any night time flight, I dont mind
My heart is aching for love,
My bodys shaking with desire
Believe me baby when I say
I will drink you dry
I would do anything to be near you,
Walk all night in the pouring rain
I see your face in the night,
I hear you calling my name
But, its a long long way from home,
Im just trying to get a message to you,
Its a long long way from home,
An I dont know what Im gonna do
Its a long long way from home,
Im just trying to get a message to you,
Its a long long way from home,
An I dont know what Im gonna do,
Its a long long way from home

The Wild One
We Was going through A lifetime
I had a banshee on my back
we're down in corpus christie now
picking up the slack
now I was wondering where the wild boys
had started off and gone
this memories jamming buttons
stuck on some old song
And if you get this message
leave a sign or make a call
Mohammed's left his calling card
and it's written on the wall
Looking for the wild one, wild one
Looking for the wild one,
Looking for the wild one,
Looking for the wild one
She was gone in twenty seconds
right before my eyes
no more honey kisses
no more long goodbyes
and I feel like pink nevada
or cooler shade of blue
mother earth is closer now
walk me out in the morning dew
And if you get this message
leave a sign or make a call
Mohammed's left his calling card
and it's written on the wall
Looking for the wild one, wild one
Looking for the wild one,
Looking for the wild one,
Looking for the wild one
Looking for the
Solo
Sometimes I stop breathing
just to feel reborn
and it's like rolling thunder
blowing through the corn
through my back pages
I can see the change
there's a storm a coming now
coming through the rain
Solo
and I'm out here drifitng
a million miles alone
floating in a spaceship somewhere
falling like a stone,
falling like a stone
Still looking for the wild one,
yeah yeah

Hanover Winter Song
Ho, a song by the fire;
Pass the pipes, pass the bowl.
Ho, a song by the fire
With a skoal, with a skoal.
Ho, a song by the fire;
Pass the pipes with a skoal,
For the wolf-wind is wailing at the doorways,
And the snow drifts deep along the road,
And the ice gnomes are marching from their Norways,
And the great white cold walks abroad.
But, here by the fire, we defy frost and storm;
Ha, ha we are warm, and we have our heart's desire.
For here, we're good fellows, and the beechwood and the bellows;
And the cup is at the lip in the pledge of fellowship.
Oh, here by the fire, we defy frost and storm;
Ha, ha, we are warm, and we have our heart's desire.
For here we're good fellows, and the beechwood and the bellows.
And the cup is at the lip in the pledge of fellowship,
Of fellowship
Pile the logs on the fire;
Fill the pipes, pass the bowl.
Pile the logs on the fire
With a skoal, with a skoal.
Pile the logs on the fire;
Fill the pipes with a skoal,
For the fire goblins flicker on the ceiling,
And the wine witch glitters in the glass,
And the smoke wraiths are drifting, curling, reeling,
And the sleigh bells jingle as they pass.
But, here by the fire, we defy frost and storm;
Ha, ha we are warm, and we have our heart's desire.
For here, we're good fellows, and the beechwood and the bellows;
And the cup is at the lip in the pledge of fellowship.
Oh, here by the fire, we defy frost and storm;
Ha, ha, we are warm, and we have our heart's desire.
For here we're good fellows, and the beechwood and the bellows.
And the cup is at the lip in the pledge of fellowship,
Of fellowship
Oh, a God is the fire;
Pull the pipes, drain the bowl.
Oh, a God is the fire
With a skoal, with a skoal.
Oh, a God is the fire;
Pull the pipes with a skoal,
For the room has a spirit in the embers,
Tis a God and our fathers knew his name,
And they worship'd him in long-forgot Decembers,
And their hearts leap'd high with the flame.

New Beginning
hand me down some photographs
spread across the floor
a broken record spins in circles
she can't listen anymore
she's turned around a thousand times
she set that bridge a fire
but did you wanna listen
you took the world with you
so what is left
so what is left for me
i called you on the phone again
just the other day
it sounds to me you found your place
and everything is great
but did you wanna listen
you took the world with you
so what is left
so what is left for me
i try
so hard to figure out
why
no explanation keeps me waiting
lets try
because i know you won't forget
i know
even if the story is over
but did you wanna listen
you took the world with you
so what is left for me
so what is left for me
but did you wanna listen
you took the world with you
so what is left
so what is left for me
what's left for me

Dead Souls
Someone take these dreams away
That point me to another day
A duel of personalities
That stretch all true reality
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
When figures from the past stand tall
And mocking voices ring the hall
Imperialistic house of prayer
Conquistadores who took their share
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
Calling me, calling me
Calling me, calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me

Sun.. Earth.. Sea..
The sun saw the sea dropping tears
while it was speaking its heart out
to the earth which always have been there
then when it ended, the sun asked
'' who the hell made you cry?
'' does it worth it and tell me why! ''
the sea said nothing, kept it waves calm
the heat of the sun got hotter
which made the sea more rough
fish and sea shells were cut in half
everything just came out
the sun got the bottom of the sea
while the earth was calling it
calling ad calling again
but nothing replied
it's like its voice didn't reach
but it did
it was right in the sea's ears
right in its heart, mind and tears
they were sad
when they saw thier friend being rough
being honest to the one the would make
its water evoporates
the sun went down
the sea is still crying
the sea is stil the same
sad, thinking, being its clumsy self
that's when the earth came
it returned the shelfs to the sea
made it forget everything
it always said '' it's only u & me,
I'm just right here
I got the words in your tears
but drank those salty tears
that got me and my worry
is my sea will always be sorry
for things it would never do or have done
but I know it misses the sun ''
the night seems long
both are waiting the sun
to shine again
the sun is sleepy now
looking for the right sound
the right word and attidue
sea ad earth have been togather for long
but 6 weeks ago
they got much closer
which made them warmer
and in a great mode to continue '' their '' life
