Silent refugees

What are we left with
When years and health are gone
When tents fall down under the roofs
When the shelters no longer shelter

When winters close down frozen and fireless
When summers burn crying for some ice
When springs forget to grow
And autumns die within a leaf

Who are we left with
When all the beloved are gone
When the helpful can no longer help
When there are no more roads to run
When the vacuum of the universe
Closes beyond our heads

Silent refugees from the earth
Silent refugees from the sky
In Who we shall die

Tihe izbjeglice

Sa č ime smo ostavljeni
Kad prođ u godine i uruč i se zdravlje
Kada se šatori pod krovovima ruše
Kad više nema skloništa

Kada se zime bez vatre smrznu
Kad ljeta prže i vape za ledom
Kad proljeć a zaborave da rastu
Kad jeseni umru u jednom listu

Sa kim smo ostavljeni
Kad voljenih više nema
Kad i oni od pomoć i pomoć i ne mogu
Kad više nema puta kojim bismo jurili
Kad se praznina svemira
Zatvori iznad glave

Tihe izbjeglice sa Zemlje
Tihe izbjeglice iz neba
U Kome mi ć emo umrijeti

And when the eyes there were no more/I kada ociju više nije bilo

I weaved
I weaved the sky I the washer by the spring
I washed the clouds I the knitter by the hearth
I knitted the fires I the builder by foundation
I built the words I the sewer by the thread
I sewed the colours I the painter by the canvas
I painted the eyes I the blind
To get to know me I waited

I kada očiju više nije bilo
Ja sam tkala
Tkala neba ja pralja kraj izvora
Prala oblake ja pletilja kraj ognjišta
Plela vatre ja zidarka kraj temelja
Zidala riječi ja vezilja kraj konca
Vezla boje ja slikarka kraj platna
Slikala oči ja obnevidjela
Da spoznaš me čekala

I build within the houses I will never live in (Nafaka)

the beds I sleep in I have never made
rains I drink I will never fall with
and the rains I fall in I never drank
the wind I breathe embracing the sides of the worls

what I want I can say no more
open for everything
for happiness and sorrow
good and evil
a cloud and a sun
even though
what I say can embrace me no more

u kucama gradim koje stanovala nisam
u krevetu spavam koji pospremila nisam
kise pijem s kojima pasti nikad necu

oblake i sunca
iako
sve sto hocu vise ne moze da me zagrli

The sky is a circle/Nebo je krug

nebo je krug
zatvoren za misao neba
prostora ima vise u kapi vode
kojom gasim zedj za poznanjem
od neba odbolovan san

the sky is the circle
closed for the thought of the sky
there’s more space within a waterdrop
in which I quench the thirst of knowledge
it’s a dream the sky had already got over

The River 2/Rijeka 2

you sang alone
alone by an autumn made willow
with your face in a shadow of a water drop
and I was flowing

you sang alone
alone by the banks closing in the lap
with the sounds silent on your lips
and I was flowing

and I loved your song
and your face in a shadow of a water drop
and the sounds silent on your lips
that's why I was flowing

ti pjevao si sam
sam kraj jasike od jeseni
s licem u sjeni od vodene kapi
a ja sam tekla

ti pjevao si sam
sam kraj obala sastavljenih u krilu
sa zvucima tihim na usnama
a ja sam tekla

i voljela tvoju pjesmu
i tvoje lice u sjeni od vodene kapi
i zvuke tihe na usnama tvojim
zato sam tekla

Širokosa/Blond Beyond The Sun

Plavi se iznad sunca
Ko brijeg širok poljima snivam
Kosa raspletena nad osmjehom zore

Ovaj svijet više nije tajna
Jer Isterom gonjen rašiva halje obalastoj misli

Nad pregrštima
Raste ko klasjem ispleteno
Novo runo jagnje i bjelina

I plavi se iznad sunca
Ko široko more i svetionici
Rašivena halja

Blond beyond the sun
Like a wide hill dreamt of by the fields
The hair untied above the smile of dawn

The world is no longer a secret
For chased by Ister
It tears the dresses to the bank-like thought

Beyond the armfuls it grows
As if entangled in spikes
A new fur a lamb and the whiteness

And it's blond beyond the sun
Likes wide seas and the lighthouses
A torn dress

Picaro turns her face towards the sun

…chameleon like chiseled in a rock rock chained pours the rainbow colours the silent sky reflections where to think is if I was a tree I would turn my leaves to you so that you can mirror yourself in the streams of written currents if I were a butterfly I would turn my wings to you so that you can wing yourself in warmth from the hands an embrace to you if I had hands I would repeat the digging up of the wells which your light has not as yet reached if I was the light I would be faster than a thought if I had a thought from you I would make it a gift to the face cut in years towards death if I had a face I would not be a picaro of self an unoverstepped hurdle at the threshold of an entrance…I’ve got nothing.

I Am Not That Privileged

What is it you are thinking?

'I'm thinking of all the people,
Referred to as refugees.
When that hurricane Katrina,
Left 'those' people desperate...
Homeless and hungry.'

They were not 'refugees'.
They were citizens.

'Oh.
I see.
And why no mention of 'refugees' left,
Desperate, hungry and homeless...
By a wider devastation,
Created by the hurricane Sandy? '

A depiction of priorities have changed.
And obviously quite different.

'I see.'

Is there an implication you are trying to emphasize?

'Of course not.
I am not that privileged,
To pass judgements with prerogatives.
I've learned too many lessons too early.'

Moja Jutra

Moja jutra su jutra
Jutra moga sutra
Tu svićem tu zanoćim
Ponoćno dišem
Tešku tminu raznosim
Zvijezdama je brišem

Moja jutra su jutra
Jutra moga sutra
Tu svjetlošću puta
Hranim sive gladi
Stojim nesvrgnuta
Gdje riječ mi se gradi

Moja su jutra
Jutra moga sutra
Bjelinomispisuju
Noći tihe magle
Plavim ispisuju
Što ruke su takle

Teret jedne strasti
U osvitu pjene
Jutrom ću potkrasti
Sopstvene zjene
Da svako bijelo prividom gine
Zlatom se optoči i suncem sine
U znak moga jutra
U jutro moga sutra

Your eyes beyond the sky- Tvoje oci iznad neba

your eyes beyond the sky
the most innocent, I know
they will survive
all the burns of the body
and preserve the soul

for - all that you watched
for - the nightmare on the nuclear trash
and the breath left on the split atom
once all these things
will have to take a rest

tvoje oci iznad neba
najnevinije, znam
one ce preživjeti
sve opekotine tijela
i sacuvati dušu
jer - sve što si gledao
jer - nocna mora na nuklearnom otpadu
i dah ostavljen na pocijepanom atomu
sve to jednom morace
da se odmori

Anonymous despair/Anonimni ocaj

'why are you looking for a charisma within yourself, stuffed bird
the possiblity of enlightment divides you endlessly
from craving a mission
the smell of earth concentrated circles of stupidity and ignorance
like rings
the further I don not understand
it looks to me like a dead sentinel' (Johny Shtulich)

bare in each star
that sharpens the knives of fear down the silver
to pour down into emptiness the keys without an opening
always somehow into wrong keyholes

an anonymous despair staggers behind the fragrance of deer
freedom is a horrible thing when you've got nowhere to go with it- isn't it

you'd rather exchange it for a cigarette smoke
bitter rakia from the spring of each drink
or her hands that now embrace the air

now what- when there's no charisma that could feed you
when all the idols burned lie in the ashes of lies
when you know that the birds stuffed with the news of the end of the winter
cannot fly because of the eye frozen at the bottom of a trophy

now where -as you elbow your way and push through the sentences of a story
in which you did not want to be a narrator anyways
not even a side character-through the word needle ears
searching for a new hero that will not be yourself

'zašto tražiš harizmu u sebi punjena ptico
mogucnost prosvjecenosti razdvaja te do u beskraj
od žudnje za misijom
miris zemlje koncentricni krugovi gluposti i neznanja

ljutu rakiju s vrela svakog pijanstva

If you knew/Kada bi znao

if you knew how much I want you
you'd be scared
you'd be absolutely terrified
you'd learn a tigress paw is a safer handshake
you'd learn a snake's tongue is has a softer touch
you'd find a cave a lighter place to be
you'd not be able to bear it
you'd die

but if you knew how much I love you
you'd find a way to my home
and I'd be cured

When you turn the other page of a cheek/Kad okreces drugu stranicu obraza

When you turn the other page of a cheek
A slap of morn written abyss down your neck
A glove that you lift right from the floor
To throw it into the face of the tree swallowers
That keep growing faster than the boughs
Up to the sky lid in the cauldron of each word
Does it ever come to your mind
What it is there that bursts out in a dream

Do you then think of streets those winding snakes
With their tongue dipped into the poison paths
The buses that turn questionless to a wheel
Insanity spinning both Alladin and the lamp
A sign post in the dark

Do you then think of the houses windows and doors
And heart beats facing the gate of the entrance
As if it was the first time to come into a human
Not knowing whether the host was inside

Do you then think those thoughts from the threshold of pain
Making way to earth mother dust and death
To rest all your thoughts at the end of the road
When the earth bursts out and leaves you with no breath

Kad okreceš drugu stranicu obraza
šamar jutra ispisan brazdama do vrata
rukavicu koju podižeš sa poda
i bacaš u lice gutacima drveca
što rastu brže od granja
do poklopca neba u kotlu svake rijeci
pomisliš li nekad šta puca u snu

misliš li tad na ulice krivudave zmije
s jezikom umocenim u otrov puta
autobuse pretocene u tocak bez pitanja
što bezumno okrece Aladina i lampu
putokaz u mraku

kada zemlja pukne i kad ostaneš bez daha

We have went our separate ways

But you have left me with some good memories

We are no longer together

But you have left me with unforgettable moments

We have went our separate way

But you have left me with little tears to cry

We are no longer together

But you have left me with no questions as to why

We have went our separate ways

But you have left me with so much to live for

We are no longer together

But you have left me with peace inside my heart

We have went our separate ways

But you have left me with out a partner

We are no longer together

But you have left me with an extra friend

Fading Memories

I have suddenly realized I have lost it.
I have lost the joy that was in my life.
When did that happen?

I don't know the exact day...however
as near as I can figure out, it happened
slowly. Ever so slowly...almost unperceptively.

Of course the joy in ones life manifests itself
through that in life that one loves. And so...
mine...my joy, slowly left...as those I love were
no longer in my life. Some of it left, when I
moved...and left behind the drooping willows that
fronted the house I no longer have. The house
where so many beautiful memories were born.

Lots of it left...when the friends of a lifetime
were house in places I no longer went to. It left when
I stopped the ritual of fine dining in places where I
was known by name. It left with scores of doormen,
and servers that I had grow found of.

Most of it...most of my joy, left with family...when came
the day when holidays and other celebrations no longer
was a part of my life.

I miss the joy in my life. I miss all the loved ones
that I shall never see again. Some dead...some
scattered like leaves in the wind, to the far
corners of the earth.

As I grow older, faded memories of joy become less
vivid. Until...a day like today...when something
.or someone reminds me...
Of Lost Joy...And Fading Memories.
