Ricochet
I stood all the doorways
Shipwrecked by the night
Stardust named my bits
And the myths did not know
Whether it was the bullets or the heart
No staircase no upper floor
I sun burst bruised each step
Said all the poems written long ago
Were they just whispers words fallen apart
Air ate mist
Mist ate my breath
Nowhere could I go
Bounced back by darts

I wrote a poem on the mist
And a woman asked me what I meant by it.
I had thought till then only of the beauty of the mist,
how pearl and gray of it mix and reel,
And change the drab shanties with lighted lamps at evening
into points of mystery quivering with color.
I answered:
The whole world was mist once long ago and some day
it will all go back to mist,
Our skulls and lungs are more water than bone and tissue
And all poets love dust and mist because all the last answers
Go running back to dust and mist.

There's A Sunset That's Made Only For The Glass Hour
some sundials that dropp silent secs of time
no shade in between standing too close to the past
it blooms like flowers never seen by eyes
it whispers like rains your hands have never touched
there's just a hint of the dusk in an unheard breaking
of window panes that stood closed for too long

The star Bethlehem born
The stardust spreading the beautiful night
The star Bethlehem being most sublime
Is being shot again and again
Broken hearted crosses we cross
Broken hearted crosses we count
Like beads of starry nights
Asleep unawake still crossing
The rivers of the first step stone
You think you could have died of shame
(The last line inspired by Franz Kafka 'Process')

Blitz
Sky shifted
Focused
Rifling lens sifts
Spits of bullets
Across a no hide
Spot targets shot
In fields of masterminds
All you ever wanted was
To see your children
In Heaven

Dislocated
An invoice of silence in a bill of time
Sometimes a second pronounced targeted holes of darts
Much as I try never to miss a single point
The whole world within might easily fall apart
Makes me a queen of arrows – a fractured disjoint

A sonnet for a Valentine
Now let’s take this lie make it you and I
A single sonnet in stripes of zebra hides
That ride the waves of black and white tides
Take bits of word bullets for a love to die
In black and white you’re a Poison Walker
And from your lips some lethal potion
Ruined back in time all the devotion
Made you speechless frozen full time stalker
Still neither the days nor the nights can drink
Dangerous drops from your lips unspoken
Stains of justice against the love token
Neither the dark nor the lights can think
Fare thee well my number do not dial
I bid you farewell in an anti-chronic style

Winter Whispering...
Winter Whispers …
In The Cold and Dark
As A Frosty Mist,
Her Breath Departs
Her Low Timbre
Sends Shivery Chills
Winter Whispers …
Trembles and Thrills
Winter Whispers …
Thru The Cold and Dark
Secret Confessions
Glitter and Spark
… A Rendezvous
A Liaison
On A Moonlit Blanket
… Love-Spun
… Wispy Words
Like Tendrils of Smoke
Freezer Burns and Brands
… Moans Spoke
A Trenchant Touch
But Innocent Tone
An Elemental Power
Of Her Own
Tho’ Stormy Night
There’s No Blustery Call
Just A Calm Hush
Soft As Snow Fall
Each Time She Meets
There’s Thaw In Speech
As Winter Whispers
What She Seeks …
… A Solid, Block-Season
Of Icy Swells
And Climatic Echoes
Of Avalanche Tales
Her Final Wish
Is To Leave Her Mark
Her Fading Sound
Sibilant and Stark
As Winter Whispers …
… Cold and Dark …
Slowly Melting
Any Bitter Heart

My cellars were closed
The doors shut wept
No name on
My secret kept
Seep below a frozen ground
Stood silent like lips
Making no sound

The tree I am/ Ja sam drvo
The tree I am
Sideroad’s heart
My words in leaves
They touch the ground
The river I am
A beat in veins
My words in a drop
A swallowed water
The cloud I am
A written sky
Quote me not
The night is eavesdropping
Ja sam drvo
Srce krajputaša
Moje riječ i u lišć u
Dotič u tlo
Ja sam rijeka
U venama dodir
Moje riječ i u kapi
Progutana voda
Ja sam oblak
Ispisano nebo
Ne citiraj me
Prisluškuje noć

The glow in the fog and mist
The spectral glow of a bobbing lantern
As if tossed upon a stormy sea
Appearing..then fading anon, absorbed
In foggy essence, to fade again so feebly
Once more, ere sinking in finality
Into the quicksand of mist
Mere glow of candle, so dear to see
Seen now…then not, …with capricious twist
The spectral light, drifts through the night
As a ghost through fog and mist
Through ribs of rain, the tremulous light
Chills the brain, befogs the sight
Dimly lit, by lanterns in the mist
Dark clouds upon the soul this night
Fog is the dark abode of lost souls
Who wander without rest with lantern high
The mist, the breath, of hollow death
The fog, the food, on which to persist
Tis best my friend, not to be, nor ne'r to see….
The glow in the fog and mist

The Bloom is not a Bloom
Bloom not bloom
mist not mist
Night half come
heaven bright go
Come like spring dream how long time?
Go like morning cloud not find place The bloom is not a bloom,
The mist not mist.
At midnight she comes,
And goes again at dawn.
She comes like a spring dream -
how long will she stay?
She goes like morning cloud, without a trace.
When a morning got clothes pinned on the sky
with the garment clouds dressed in hues of sorrow
I saw a blade child cutting through the breath
towards a flake spilled white to be washed away with snow slides
I saw the ice melting into knives falling from the edges
of the buildings built too high to scraper aspire the limits
I saw the footsteps falling apart into pools of dirt
that was mis-named for the first sign of spring
the pigeons that used to come to my window sill
to eat the crumbs of the words I left unspoken
they window pane fly around the treetops in the park across the street - that street that will never come in
I saw things missing from the torn out pages of the books burned
in the name of new readings and old interpretations
I saw them crying out at me helpless enough ever to utter them
saw them floating up in the sky alongside who knows where dragged clouds
with a tear of a lover, the thorn of the beloved
an eye of a baby innocently taking in the horror of growing up to the knowledge of innocence
the staircase sweeping the brooms
and the brooms flying new sticks of war
the owner barking at his dogs
little lessons of loyalty to the whip
I saw the traces of the mist for a lonely traveller untrodden
in this oblivion lamb wombed seeking for its mother
cradle credo swaying in each embryo delivered
the painful queues of waiting for the things
to eventually outgrow themselves into the sky
that once long ago whispered to Atlas
'I never even meant to fall down on you
why don't you rest your hands in peace
I'm just a thin layer of yourself
that you keep boxing with you muscle thought'

Tell me how you step into your name
In a silent change of paths
That always leave your steps on a threshold
In the lockedness of name
Easily like a deer
Taming a world within his horns
Painfully like a bee leaving the sting
To its foe
Who flies away to die alone
And which is even more important
With whose name on you lips
Will you step out of your naming

If I could see through the rains
To find a thunder heart that beats
My veins away away apart
Oh yes it would be so easy to die
Too easy to die to fall
Melt in the pools of a wet trace touch
If I could see through the rains
I believe I'd find there both life and death
In a single dropp link that unchains
My eyes my hands my breath

Old McDonald had a farm
Old McDonald had a farm
Oi oi oi oh oi oi oi
And on that farm’s menu many
Ia ia ohs
But the birds of prey
Let the dolphins say
‘Let us all now swim
Singin’ bum bam bim’
So the morning wing
Let the eagles sing
And the dogs wow wowed
At a sunlit cloud
And the cows mew mewed
‘We are not subdued! ’
And the ducks kwa kwad
‘We will not let guard
Old McDonald oi oi oi
Ia ia oh! ’
And a woodoopecker pecked
What a woodoohacker hacked
And the Robby Rabbot sniffed
Little tortoise so swift
And the monkey’s swaying laughter
Spread smiles forever after
Donkeys burst out loud loud loud
Ia ia ooooooh!

To
The Day was dying; his breath
Wavered away in a hectic gleam;
And I said, if Life's a dream, and Death
And Love and all are dreams -- I'll dream.
A mist came over the bay
Like as a dream would over an eye.
The mist was white and the dream was grey
And both contained a human cry,
The burthen whereof was "Love",
And it filled both mist and dream with pain,
And the hills below and the skies above
Were touched and uttered it back again.
The mist broke: down the rift
A kind ray shot from a holy star.
Then my dream did waver and break and lift --
Through it, O Love, shone thy face, afar.
So Boyhood sets: comes Youth,
A painful night of mists and dreams;
That broods till Love's exquisite truth,
The star of a morn-clear manhood, beams.

Hail Macbeth
Hail Macbeth I’m in your field
To deliver the messages of the witches set free
The Lady is strong she will not yield
Unless she is placed in a ‘not to be’
Hail Macbeth the golden eyes are shifting
Remember the earth belongs to me
Hail Macbeth the bullets are sifting
The blue that unlike you can clearly see
Hail Macbeth get out of your text
Before it’s too late for you may be the next
