It's beautiful
to walk through the glittering snow
under the street lamps through the silver path
sparkling mind towards the home
where someone always opens the door for you
and ask you if you'd like a cup of something

The Path Through The Snow
BARE and sunshiny, bright and bleak,
Rounded cold as a dead maid's cheek,
Folded white as a sinner's shroud,
Or wandering angel's robes of cloud.--
Well I know, well I know
Over the fields the path through the snow.
Narrow and rough it lies between
Wastes where the wind sweeps, biting keen:
Every step of the slippery road
Marks where some weary foot has trod;
Who'll go, who'll go
After the rest on the path through the snow?
They who would tread it must walk alone,
Silent and steadfast--one by one:
Dearest to dearest can only say,
'My heart! I'll follow thee all the way,
As we go, as we go
Each after each on this path through the snow.'
It may be under that western haze
Lurks the omen of brighter days;
That each sentinel tree is quivering
Deep at its core with the sap of spring,
And while we go, while we go,
Green grass-blades pierce thro' the glittering snow.
It may be the unknown path will tend
Never to any earthly end,
Die with the dying day obscure,
And never lead to a human door:
That none know who did go
Patiently once on this path through the snow.
No matter, no matter! the path shines plain;
These pure snow-crystals will deaden pain;
Above, like stars in the deep blue dark,
Eyes that love us look down and mark.
Let us go, let us go,
Whither heaven leads in the path thro' the snow.

Walk With My Spirit
In a hotel room watching the white snow fall
Glistening past with beckoning mossy leaves,
Drape with beauty outside upon the wall
Silent ice in the night hung from the trees.
In the gentle night I took a walk with my spirit,
Snow caught my eyes fluttering with little wings,
They try to fly flapping with all their might,
But end up covering the street and soak clothes.
Cold sober response shook the worn knees,
And my tearing teeth broke lamentable silence,
A smitten figure misplace in night ease,
Try to walk outside upon snows frozen ice.
My limbs dug tunnels and tried to hold me tight,
But the ground took my stride to skip and dance,
I walk the path where the street had gone,
For once in my life I felt carried by a spirit.
Along the path set for me with beaten snow,
I started to float and struggle to find a way home,
I should have sunk deep in sleep by now,
Instead, plague with regret; I am out on my own.
I went where footsteps lost their charms,
The softer images in mind losing the fight,
Trying to stay alive swaying with my hips and arms,
The images weren't meant to last through the night.

Leave My Blues At Home
I been trapped inside four walls, feel like I cant call to no one
Ah, way out on the outside.
Well livin alone is easy, but too long just dont seem really
Quite the thing to do, no.
Think Ill drink up a little more wine, to ease my worried mind.
And walk down on the street, and leave my blues at home. all behind.
The landlord is on my line, I cant get no peace of mind.
But I know theres something better.
I cant stay and I cant run, cant keep waitin for someone
To find and go roll.
Well Ill gather up all my four leaf clovers.
Dont leave, Im on my way over.
A walk down on the street, and leave my blues at home. all behind.
And I feel I have to scream
Whenever I get the notion.
And though I try so hard,
I cant hold back my emotions.
But i... love you, but I cant have ya. wont you sit by my side.
You dont work, the man dont pay ya.
There aint no saint to come and save ya, oh, puttin your toll down.
Well, if you ride you pay the fare... with satan on your back.
And he dont care where you come from or where you goin.\
And before I get myself all down, I jump up and kick the door down.
And walk down on the street, and leave my blues at home. all behind.

Can't Walk You Home
You're a rich girl we all know
daddy runs an airline,
mummy's eye is on the dough
and the butlers' on the bread-line
You're so bright you glide through school
brains run in the family
You've been taught the "how do you do"
and all your men are manly
I'm just a boy, not what you're used to
That is why I can't walk you home
that is why I can't walk you home
that is why I can't walk you home
that is why (Why) I can't walk you home
I don't want to run you down
I don't mind the money
but last time when you asked me round
you said I was funny
Pulling strings and pony tails
just to get to know me
The only time you'll ever fail
is when you try to own me
I'm not a toy, I'm no use to you
That is why I can't walk you home
that is why I can't walk you home
that is why I can't walk you home
that is why (Why) I can't walk you home
[Mike Solo]
I'm just a boy not what you're used to
That is why I can't walk you home
that is why I can't walk you home
that is why I can't walk you home
that is why (Why) I can't walk you home

0110 Visiting Billy Collins
The gate opens easily -
someone's oiled it quite recently.
There's fresh gravel on the path
this winter day.
There's a dog kennel out there and
a single warning bark from inside the house but
your shins are safe.
Those neighbours of his seem
quiescent today..
The doormat has said
WELCOME for
some frayed years now.
There are lights on and
the door opens quickly although
they weren't expecting you so soon.
'How about a walk around after
coffee, this crisp morning?
Just as far as you like? There's
lots to show you..'
We walk further than
I intended, laughing
over the word
'accessible'.

A London Thoroughfare. 2 A.M.
They have watered the street,
It shines in the glare of lamps,
Cold, white lamps,
And lies
Like a slow-moving river,
Barred with silver and black.
Cabs go down it,
One,
And then another,
Between them I hear the shuffling of feet.
Tramps doze on the window-ledges,
Night-walkers pass along the sidewalks.
The city is squalid and sinister,
With the silver-barred street in the midst,
Slow-moving,
A river leading nowhere.
Opposite my window,
The moon cuts,
Clear and round,
Through the plum-coloured night.
She cannot light the city:
It is too bright.
It has white lamps,
And glitters coldly.
I stand in the window and watch the
moon.
She is thin and lustreless,
But I love her.
I know the moon,
And this is an alien city.

Out In The Street
Put on your best dress baby
And darlin, fix your hair up right
Cause theres a party, honey
Way down beneath the neon lights
All day youve been working that hard line
Now tonight youre gonna have a good time
I work five days a week girl
Loading crates down on the dock
I take my hard earned money
And meet my girl down on the block
And monday when the foreman calls time
Ive already got friday on my mind
When that whistle blows
Girl, Im down the street
Im home, Im out of my work clothes
When Im out in the street
I walk the way I wanna walk
When Im out in the street
I talk the way I wanna talk
When Im out in the street
When Im out in the street
When Im out in the street, girl
Well, I never feel alone
When Im out in the street, girl
In the crowd I feel at home
The black and whites they cruise by
And they watch us from the corner of their eye
But there aint no doubt girl, down here
We aint gonna take what theyre handing out
When Im out in the street
I walk the way I wanna walk
When Im out in the street
I talk the way I wanna talk
Baby, out in the street I dont feel sad or blue
Baby, out in the street Ill be waiting for you
When the whistle blows
Girl, Im down the street
Im home, Im out of my work clothes
When Im out in the street
I walk the way I wanna walk
When Im out in the street
I talk the way I wanna talk
When Im out in the street
Pretty girls, theyre all passing by
When Im out in the street
From the corner, we give them the eye
Baby, out in the street I just feel all right
Meet me out in the street, little girl, tonight
Meet me out in the street
Meet me out in the street

Walk Away
They say love will win in the end
Hold him close and surely hell be
What if its heartaches break you again
Walk away, baby, walk away.
It takes more than just one to provide
Why forgive him just to keep it alive
'Cause when its hurts are done, cry out this time
Just walk away, baby, walk away.
Think of me once in a while
I held this old dream, you see
And theres a path that leads to my door
And a home for a refugee.
Dont feel guilty for foolish desires
It aint easy to drown a fierce fire
Cry will lead you to something much higher
Walk away, baby, walk away.
And darling, please, forget me not
Bring out your tears to me
'Cause through the years I never spoke out
And finally Im begging, please.
If he cries out, love me once more
Just turn around, go on and open the door
Save your dream, score the one you adore
And walk away, baby, walk away.
Walk away, baby, walk away
Just walk away, baby, walk away...

Riverwalk
High above the mile high Colorado Rocky mountains,
Anywhere I see, I see the tall cliffs with silver lined snow caps,
The Alpine fir, blue spruce and oak trees abound,
The winter snow is gone, the summer greenery has come to stay.
In and around the trails,
I hear the music of river creek flowing down the hills,
The sparkling clean glacier water sings its own divine tune,
The gentle wind blows over and serenades her with whispering chime.
There are many obstacles in the river's path,
The fallen limbs, boulders and numerous rocks,
The river embraces these hurdles with tender touch,
It embraces, under flows, overflows, still playing its melodious tune.
I walk miles along the river walk,
I try to listen to the joy in the music of the current flowing fast and slow,
Whatever the intricacies and hurdles we face,
We must flow like the river, singing, dancing and living with joy.

The Birch
The white birch is covered
All with snow veil,
As with silver, rather,
Outside my dwell.
On the fluffy boughs,
With the snow lace
There appeared flowers
On the white hoar dress.
And the birch is staying
In the quiet dream,
As the gold, the snowflakes
Are sparkling in the peace.
And the dawn, so lazily
Going around,
Sprinkles the new silver
On the lacy boughs.

Be My Baby
I saw you walk down the street
With some other girl
Always thought that I was the only one in your world
Baby can you tell me so
Out of sight of of mind aint what love ought to be
And I hoped all the time that youd be faithful to me
Faithful to me
All Im asking you for when you walk out the door
Is to me my baby, baby
I just want to be sure
That forever and more
You would be my baby
Love is just like a flower baby it has to grow
And when you are away Im even loving you more
I just have to let you know
One on one is the way and thats the way it should be
So if youre not gonna stay
Then dont be playing with me
You can set me free
All Im asking you for when you walk out the door
Is to me my baby, baby
cause all this lovev is for you
And you know that Im true
And Ill be your baby
All Im asking you for when you walk out the door
Is to me my baby, baby
cause I knew from the start
That you were working my heart
Wont you be my baby
I remember our walk other saturday night
Sweet harmonies filled and floated through our minds
Never felt this way before
We were riding so high on love and understanding
So why go wasting your time when you have got such a find
That is everlasting
All Im asking you for when you walk out the door
Is to me my baby, baby
I just want to be sure
That forever and more
You would be my baby
All Im asking you for when you walk out the door
Is to me my baby, baby
cause all this lovev is for you
And you know that Im true
And Ill be your baby
And I want you to love me baby.

Compulsive-obsessive Neurosis
he promised himself that at the first second
when he wakes up this morning
he's gonna go directly to the door
get his sneakers and face towel
and take a walk while it is still cold
and dark
but look, here he is again
like a robot, opens his PC,
stares at the monitor, goes to PH
and then starts his
obsessive-compulsive
poetry.
hmm, it maybe a mess that calls for
psychiatry
but on the other hand
the feeling is elevating
now on the ninth cloud he takes a walk
in his fields of
imagination - on the path
of nirvana.

Silver Bells
(Jay Livingston/Ray Evans)
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas Day (Eve)
City street lights, even stoplights
Blinking bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all the bustle you'll hear
Silver bells, (Silver bells)
Silver bells, (Silver bells)
It's Christmas-time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas Day
Soon it will be Christmas Day

She Knows When Youre On My Mind
She knows shes holdin someone who dont love her
She knows shes where you could have been
She knows I turn to her because you turned me down
And she knows when youre on my mind again
Every night she opens up the door to heaven
But when youre on my mind I cant go in
And you come runnin through my mind and I let my memory chase you
She knows when youre on my mind again
Sometimes late at night I hear her crying
She turns to me but you wont let her in
She knows the door is locked but she keeps trying
She knows when youre on my mind again
Every night she opens up the door to heaven
But when youre on my mind I cant go in
And you come runnin through my mind and I let my memory chase you
She knows when youre on my mind again

Heavenly Father
My father is in heaven just waiting for me,
Preparing a unique place of rest for tomorrow,
And when I get there how happy I will be,
In my flight of joy there will be no more sorrow.
When I take a heavenly star to go through the air,
In paradise on streets of gold other people will walk,
And I will know the change in the atmosphere,
Just been there without street lamps for it is not dark.
Pull up in my dream the sheets of celestial lights,
Eternity riding high on the firmament of stain glass,
New life erase the guilt that own the quibbling past,
No moon ice or winter spring hanging over the cities.
My father is in heaven away from this besotted time,
His anxious blood runs deep through my veins,
I can feel him in my body; see him in my mind,
Gauge the cosmic realm to define the species.
In time, in memory, we return to the cradle of love,
The father we worship, the king we strongly adore,
Alpha and Omega, the exceptional being from above,
A father's love is the key that opens every door.
Mine inescapable failure made into a testimony,
Onwards and upwards made a way to meet his wave,
I am almost going home soon no reason to worry,
Outliving the impact the one for my life he gave.

Improvisations: Light And Snow: 11
As I walked through the lamplit gardens,
On the thin white crust of snow,
So intensely was I thinking of my misfortune,
So clearly were my eyes fixed
On the face of this grief which has come to me,
That I did not notice the beautiful pale colouring
Of lamplight on the snow;
Nor the interlaced long blue shadows of trees;
And yet these things were there,
And the white lamps, and the orange lamps, and the lamps of lilac were there,
As I have seen them so often before;
As they will be so often again
Long after my grief is forgotten.
And still, though I know this, and say this, it cannot console me.

Silver Girl
Silver girl, stay until tomorrow
Take my heart away with just a single kiss,
Silver girl, the world out side our window,
Somehow fades away at moments like this,
While tonight in the city street the people rush by,
You and I are taking our time, precious time,
*wont you lay with me (stay with me) one moment more,
I couldnt bear to see you walk out that door,
Stay with me, by my one in the world,
For just one golden moment, my silver girl.*
The silver moon holds us in its power,
With a magic that Im not prepared to fight,
With all my strength Ive been holding back the hour,
Lie beside me now if just for one night,
Far below, in the city street the people rush by,
You and I are taking our time, precious time.

Snowy evening
Snowy evening
Snow filling the ground
Turning the city into white
She, in a bright red dress
Walking slowly, enjoying
Her walk in the snowy evening
Towards the Fence of the garden!
Greenaries of the garden
Now in white shades
With frozen drops of ice
Covering the grass
Every little bush
Like a cotton plant
Making a lovely sense!
Few snow flakes in her hands
To taste the pretty white snow
She opens her mouth
Awesome beauty with a white perl
In hand towards her mouth
With more innocence
Trees and bushes covered with snow
Wonders if she is pretty
Or the snow fall is pretty
Unexpressed silence persists
In the garden
Till the beauty
Went down the street!

Full Stop
I allowed you to tread on me unflinchingly.
My mind on pause,
ungrieved you turn back the clock.
Enough to stun the century,
I take cognisance of divine’s club foot.
I did not believe in self-pity
but I was racing against time
to avoid a jealous path running with me.
Yet I was sleeping on bushes of estranged thorns
without locking my golden age.
Tulips are no more my favourites.
You have to dig deep to plant the bulbs
and wait. When death opens the door for me,
I wanted to be free from any commitment
and ready to walk in, like a foot soldier.
This cosmos is mine, body is for you.
It no more obeys my command.
No more commas are needed,
a final full stop will do.
I am returning back to my home.
