Good Teachers Bad
Some teachers regret the day when they taught their students to read and write
I wonder about mine.
Neki uč itelji zažale dan kad su svoje djake nauč ili da č itaju i pišu. Pitam se za svog.

Happy Teacher’s Day in India,2010
Teachers teach students to learn;
Teachers show them how to earn;
Teachers guide students to read;
Teachers help them if they need.
Teachers share with pupils, ken;
Teachers show them how to pen;
Teachers train them in most things;
Teachers make them good earthlings!
Teachers mould their character;
Teachers act facilitator;
Teachers are a boon on earth;
Teachers bring students, mirth!
Teachers care for children-wards;
Teachers don’t expect rewards;
Teachers slog throughout life-span;
Teachers make them man / woman.
Teachers are a humble lot;
Teachers make learning, an art;
Teachers perform well their part;
Teachers love students in heart!
Teachers are next to parents;
Teachers are a nation’s wealth;
Teachers make a student great;
Teachers are a must for all.
Revere teachers on this Day;
Thank them truly in some way;
Emulate them, if you may;
‘Give them good health, God’, you pray!
“Happy Teachers’ Day! ”
Most lovingly dedicated to all my teachers,
Living and dead, who made me,
‘What I am, today! ’

You cannot teach me
I paint the birds because they fly
And draw the windmills because they spin
I colour the hearts because they beat
And dance the dawns for what they are
I write the words because they speak
When silences spread I listen – you know
I listen carefully so as not to get mute
No one taught me that
I always knew

unless it is taught tears to cry

Let me be today (Nafaka)
Tomorrow I will die
There’s still some time to go
Let go of me today
There’s a sky I’ve got to kiss
Tomorrow I will cry
Today I’ve got to seize the day
It’ll slip away into oblivion
Today I’ve got to step out of the circle
It’s not my time to leave
To drag the soul out of the shells
I want to know everything
But this is not the day to ask
Let go of me today
I need to be one with everything
I’ll part some other day
Let go of me one more day
It’s not my time yet
I’ll die another one
NEKA ME DANAS
umrijecu sutra
ima jos vremena
Pustite me danas
moram da poljubim nebo
plakacu sutra
danas treba da uhvatim dan
skliznuce u zaborav
Danas moram da izadjem iz kruga
nije mi jos vrijeme da odem
da izvucem dusu iz skoljki
Hocu sve da znam
ali nije dan da pitam
Neka me danas
treba da se stopim
rastacu se nekog drugog dana
Pustite me jos danas
nije mi jos vrijeme
umrijecu neki drugi put

Sonnet: Students’ Duty to Teachers...
Most teachers share knowledge with students all,
And help them learn the things they ought in life,
And train and groom them for the exam-hall,
And eke a livelihood, avoiding strife.
How should students repay their sacrifice,
Devotion, love and labour, teachers lend?
–Obedience, industriousness suffice,
With reverence to teachers till the end.
One can’t repay a teacher’s service, love,
Or priceless time, attention rendered free;
When students toil to rise in life, and prove
Much greater than their teachers tend to be,
It fills a teacher’s heart with joy to know,
His work was useful to students somehow!

Crone/Hron
Crone
A big watchmaker
Clocked endlessness
Within the circle of his own limits
Crone
A big watchmaker
Never sharpened his own hands
Crone
A big watchmaker
Repeatedly cleaned
His own mechanisms
Crone
A big watchmaker
Stood at the entrance
Self-determined
Self-encaged
Hron
Veliki casovnicar
Otkucavao je beskraj
U krugu svojih granica
Hron
Velki casovnicar
Nikada nije ostrio
Svoje kazaljke
Hron
Veliki casovnicar
Stajao je na ulazu
Samim sobom omedjen
Samim sobom odredjen
2009.

O tebi
O tebi ne govorim ljudima jer shvatili ne bi
O tebi govorim
Tek listu kad lomno padne na tlo
Sumraku kad te razlije u boje
I rubu ponornog sjećanja mog
Tek tmini kada progovori glasno
Suzu prolomljenu u dnu crnog oka
Što kanuti neće nikad
Tek vratima odškrinutim i odjeku koraka
Zalutalim pragovima što kuće svoje traže
Otkucaju srca i posljednjom mrežom
Zahvaćenu vodu što kroz konope
Nazad u izvor lije
O tebi ljepoto moja
Ne govorim ni tebi
Jer čak ni ti shvatio ne bi
Da s površine riječi ništa se ne kreće
I ništa u dubine vratiti se neće

Teacher’s Day Verses (A Pot Pourri)
Most teachers teach;
And some do preach;
Not all can reach
The pupil each!
On ‘Teachers’ Day’
Students must say,
‘From heart, we thank you, aye,
for showing us life’s way! ’
Teachers are mostly right;
Pupils should never fight;
They show all wisdom’s light
With selflessness and might.
Each teacher is God’s gift,
Who gives us our life’s lift;
And warns us not to drift
Away, from learning shift!
Our teachers help us learn;
Sometimes they are quite stern;
The mid-night oil, we burn;
Our learning helps us earn;
There are some hearts that care,
And show love that is rare
Like parents, and knowledge share;
And smile, when students well fare.
Let students thank God
For teachers’ precepts, rod;
They must always nod
To teacher’s every word.
Our teachers mean a lot;
In life, they change our lot,
And prevent us from rot;
To thank them, we all ought.
Our Teachers give the spark
That lights our lives quite dark;
They keep us on the mark
Like guardian angels, Hark!

Kroz vene ko uz konope svemira
Ti vereš se bez daha sav od svoga cilja
Puštaš riječ i u bezdomni šapat
Raskuć no piješ kišu doma svog
Piješ i pjevaš ravno ka srcu
Piješ padaš pjevaš
Pi-pa-po pi-pa-po
Ravno ka srcu
Piješ ustaješ pjevaš
Pij-usta-pjev pij-usta-pjev
Ravno ka srcu

Tis a highly descriptive task
to write your lips as they bite the glass
rims standing even and the drink it's been
made of sweet and bitter
rivers lakes and oceans
spilling drops of blue
to dwell on your eyelashes
eyes closed quiver fear
to stand on the fingertips
and to read the lines
broken palms of hands
geometry divinity
grasped in human kind

About a poem
You filled the glasses
Words into glasses glass made drops
Golden pots for a thunder-like
‘Drink’ of big silences
You filled the glasses
On the tables across the earth
Meanings laid walking on debris
You filled the glasses
Like hours into a sandclock
The sand upon which
You write up the names
Glass made drops
You write up the scars of a sip
Drunk you plough and keep ploughing
Over the dreams you spill
