Did you ever know I was a child
My cry your smile
My tears your cups
My hunger your belly dance
My hands like sticks
Wave your campaign flags
Your knives & your stabs
Did you ever know I was a child

When I Touch Your Belly
When I touch your belly tears of amazement run down my eyes.
I am so amazed that inside your womb a life lies.
A child that was created all from our love;
God, I can’t believe that in a few weeks you’ll give birth to our miracle of love.
When I touch your belly with my ear;
I can’t believe the heart beat I hear.
It like a little drum beating a message to me;
In the sounds of the beat I swear our child is saying hi daddy.
When I touch your belly I caressing you as well as our child;
I’m caressing you to say thank you for carrying our child.
I could not have chosen a better mother then you.
These are all the things I’m saying when I touch your belly.
Mama's cry
child, please dont cry when we fail 2 try.
Child, smile with me even when a mile we walk through troubles.
Child, brace me with your love and forever you live by his grace.
Child, i know not of tomorrow but walk with me.
Walk me with and lets make this talk a reality,
a vision seen by the mind and a mission won win the heart.
Your tears, your fears when we crawl-
despair not and walk with me.
Mama! The call of every son and daughter of man.
Every dawn and dusk,
a picture of uncertainity draws on the child's faces.
In my own motherland, their stomach shed hopeless tears of hunger.
They crave for what many put to waste as their tongues fail to taste and they retire to their graves.
Child, just walk with me.

Hunger in Botany Bay
Hunger lurks down the streets of Botany Bay;
The lonely child famished and peckish cries for food
None notices the child, for they’re preoccupied with the travesty of justice in Botany Bay
An observant vagabond pays heed to the child, and shares the lone piece of bread
The child ecstatic with what’s it got, runs to its hovel
The hovel where it was raised, is full of abjection and misery
The child runs to its mother, gives the lone piece of bread
The mother in tears, tears up the piece of bread
Gives a piece to the child to satiate its hunger
Keeps the other piece for the other slumbering child
For such is the love of the mother, careless about her own hunger
Gets lost in the agony of doubt, of how she will raise her children
In this world full of misery and pain.

Dance, Dance Everywhere!
Dance, Dance Dance
everywhere,
When I look at the sky,
I see the clouds dance
Into steps of winds
My heart dance when I watch clouds dance!
How it can make me dance?
Without any tune or beats,
Its own beats me my heart dance.
Some strange tune it sings in silence and dance!
When I see at shore of ocean waves that dance,
Some birds in sky fly and dance,
On the waves boats that to the tune of waves, dance,
My mind sing lyricless
music to which it dance!
When I walk along the beach,
The headless crown of palm trees with wide open hands dance,
Watching them dance trees start their dance!
When I on countryside, green paddy fields dance,
Looking at them, the bird on the branch dance!
When walk along, trees with fruits dance,
And to its own rustling music, leaves dance!
When I walk in the park,
Plants with flowers dance!
Looking at the graceful dance flowerless dance,
When I move on street, hope and hap dance,
Seeing at them even hopeless an hapless to dance!
Smile on faces with hope dance,
Wrinkles on the forehead of hapless dance!
When I look at people in them mind dance,
In some happiness dance,
In some sorrowfulness dance,
Some I found with desperation dance
In some their laziness dance,
In some saintliness dance,
Most of the time wickedness dance,
And in some other dreams that dance!
Success that dance with some,
Distress that in unsuccessful dance,
In some hearts mercy that dance
Together with love and kindness dance!
Some where cookedness dance,
And some where innocence dance,
In every nation either hunger dance,
Or in people's mind anger that dance,
Either corruption in corrupt mind dance,
Or those systems on the heart of people dance!
Dance, dance, dance everywhere,
It is time for my soulful dance,
If you see somewhere some other type of dance
Just sing it dance
and let no other see the pain in your heart dance
Hide it with that unfailable lips on which smile may dance
Dance, Dance, dance,
Tune your steps with eternal dance!

Grandma monkey loves
Monkey grandma loves
Child of her daughter more
Than child of her son
In morning dew
She carries child of daughter
Up her back and child of son
Down her belly to shake off dew
In noon sun heat
She turn child of daughter
Down her belly and child of son
Up her back to be beat by hot sun

A New Day!
lay down your guns,
your knives, your flags.
get out of your tanks,
your planes, get off
of your carriers.
stop the bombs,
the rhetoric, the patriotic march....
unball your fists, open your hands.
proclaim this a new day....
the first day of forever...
when humanity decided
to become human again!

Dance
Dance!
When you get the chance.
It's okay to pat your feet.
And sway as you move,
To the rhythmic beat.
Dance!
Enhance your prancing,
By letting loose.
Get up and shake that butt.
Give all those excuses up!
Wave your hands and feel free to do it.
Remove those restrictions with thoughts deluded.
What is there to prove if you don't or do?
Improve your health and state of mind too!
Tighten up those muscles in that sagging behind...
And,
Dance!
Treat it like a mental release!
Dance!
From your head down to your feet.
Dance!
Get rid of those excuses you keep.
Dance.
Dance.
Dance.
Dance.
Dance!
Treat it like a mental release!
Dance!
From your head down to your feet.
Dance!
Get rid of those excuses you keep.
And...
Dance.
Dance.
Dance.
Dance.
Dance!
Wave your hands and feel free to do it.
Remove those restrictions with thoughts deluded.
What is there to prove if you don't or do?
Improve your health and state of mind too!
Tighten up those muscles in that sagging behind...
And dance.
Treat it like a mental release!
Dance!
From your head down to your feet.
Dance!
Get rid of those excuses you keep.
And...
Dance.
Dance.
Dance.
Dance.
Dance!
Treat it like a mental release!
Dance.
Treat it like a mental release!
Dance.
Treat it like a mental release!
Dance.
Dance.
Dance.
And keep on dancing!

Cry Freedom
How can I turn away
Brother/sister go dancing
Through my head
Human as to human
The future is no place
To place your better days
Cry freedom, cry
From a crowd 10,000 wide
Hope laid upon hope
That this crowd will not subside
Let this flag burn to dust
And a new a fair design be raised
While we wait head in hands,
Hands in prayer
And fall into a dreamless sleep again
And we wave our hands
Hands and feet are all alike
But gold between divide us
Hands and feet are all alike
But fear between divide us
All slip away
There was a window and by it stood
A mirror in which
He could see himself
He thought of something
Something he had never had but
Hoped would come along
Cry freedom, cry
From deep inside
Where we are all confined
While we wave hands in fire
Wave our hands
Hands and feet are all alike
But gold between divide us
Hands and feet are all alike
But fear between divide us,
Slip away
In this room stood a little child
And in this room this little child
She would remain
Until someone might decide
To dance this little child
Across this hall
Into a cold, dark, space
Where she might never trace her
Way across this crooked mile
Across this crooked page
Cry freedom, cry
From deep inside where
We are all confined
Till we wave our hands
How can I turn away
Brother/sister go dancing
Through my head
Human as to human
The future is no place
To place your better days
Hands and feet are all alike but gold between divide us hands and feet are all alike but fear between divide us hands and feet are all alike hear what I say hear what I say oh, so be it
How can I turn away brother/sister go dancing through my head human as to human the future is no place to place your better days

A Lifetime In Your Hands
Baby.
On the floor they lay
Not a wrinkle or crease to save
Little hands do wave
Wanting to play
Young child.
In dirt and muck
Hands still mild and soft
More by youth than luck
Plays the young child hands aloft
Teenager.
Learning in school
For peers appear cool
In paint and ink
Their hands do stink
Young adult.
Now working hard
Sweat and toil
midday sun, mad
Hands now a trowel
Middle age.
Hands hard and worn
Some cut, sworn
Holds a child
Strong and mild
50 - 60
Wrinkles appear
Fingers and thumbs
On the rear
Liver spots like speckled crumbs
Old age (ish)
Wrinkled and lined
Courted and dined
Etched in their story of life
Sprinkled with some strife
End of time.
Transparent and Boney
Face hard set, maybe lonely
Hands wave a sigh
Soon to say goodbye

Dance Into My Life
Dance into my life, only for a while
Whirl me round and round
Dance me like an angel child
Hes passing through my world
He doesnt even know
Times not on my side
No word or goodbye, Ill go
So dance on, right now I want to dance on
Until the moments over
And Ill be going home
(Ill be going home)
Just dance on, right now
I want to dance on
I cant let him notice the tears in my eyes
In my eyes, in my eyes
Dance into my life
Hold the moment fast
Make believe in us
Nothing real in life can last dance within my life
Dance me to the door
I cant see the time, but the time has come for sure
So dance on, right now I want to dance on
Until the moments over
And Ill be going home
(Ill be going home)
Just dance on, right now
I want to dance on
I cant let him notice the tears in my eyes
In my eyes, in my eyes
Dance with me, dance with me
Wont you dance with me
Dance with me, dance with me
Wont you dance with me
So dance on, right now
I want to dance on
Until the moments over
And Ill be going home
(Ill be going home)
So dance on, right now
I want to dance on
Until the moments over
And Ill be going home

Of Words And Dance...
Do you dance? Will you dance with me for
the rest of our lives?
I shall dance with you, through trouble times.
I shall dance with you in the dark of night.
We shall dance and skate on a rainy day.
We shall skip and dance our worries away.
We will dance with our children, and our friends,
through life.
Dance, yes we will, in laughter or tears.
Dance, on the stage of life, that we live.
Dance, through the hardships and troubles of life.
And will you dance with me, thou I am sad?
For I know that dance, will make me glad.
And when you weep, fear not my love,
I'll dance you to a happy place.
We'll dance among a field of flowers,
as the stars above, become our shower.
And the moon shall smile as it sees us dance,
two in love...twirling a ballet of life.
And do you say, will we tire of our dance? Na,
for with you as my love...life is a ball. Life is a dance
of love and that shall never end
Dance With Me...
Do you dance? Will you dance with me for
the rest of our lives?
I shall dance with you, through trouble times.
I shall dance with you in the dark of night.
We shall dance and skate on a rainy day.
We shall skip and dance our worries away.
We will dance with our children, and our friends,

Hunger
Your stomach stretched thin
Your rib cage pronounced
A bewildered gaze tell your story
Where are your parents?
Where are your friends?
You are dying from hunger
And there are no outstretched hands
You were dealt losing cards
Although you played to win
Some will say it's because you sin
On your back you lay
Hands on belly
Dead but breathing still
What type of life you lived?
Have you ever smiled?
Ever laughed uncontrollably
Because you were filled with joy?
Ever been out on the town?
If you did it does not show
Your body does not tell
Of happy times
It says grief, loneliness, abandonment
And pain
Ever gazed at the sky?
Dreamed of greatness and significance?
A time without lack
Or bitterness?
Maybe so but your body disagrees
Hunger, hunger is what I see
What if you could dream again?
Hope again and laugh?
Would you?
Could you?
If you are going to die anyway
Why not just laugh?
Laugh uncontrollably
This is your last hour
Hunger wins
Cannot receive food now
Cannot digest
Thirst cannot be quenched now
So laugh
Laugh for the first time
Laugh!

Sticks and Stones
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but word may never hurt me.”
Said a wise man in a faraway land so many years ago.
So tell me why my heart feels so torn apart if all she did was speak,
I think we should see someone new; the problems are with you (I forget about mine)
Shoot some flags, shoot some flags, wound me some more;
Point out my mistakes, leave my wreck in your wake. Forget all i said
How i loved you, how anything i'd do, to get across to you.
Forget all i did give, the words i did my best to live: all because i loved you
So tell it all to me again how you stabbed my back when all i did was love you.
Cause apparently sticks and stones may break my bones, but words may never hurt me
I wish that it were true.

Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
To the music
Dance, Dance
To the beat
Dance, Dance
To the rhythm
Stomp your feet
Dance, Dance
Even though
Your tune they don't hear
Dance, Dance
For yourself
Have no fear
Dance, Dance
If you're alive
You're doing well
Dance, Dance
And grin
So the world can tell
You know you've got
A life to live
You're looking at the joy
This world can give
And you're dancing and laughing,
Won't be dragged down
You'd rather keep moving
Than stay with a frown
Dance, Dance
'Til it's played to the end
Dance, Dance
With a smile
My truly brave friend

Bonfire
stoke the fire!
sticks of prejudice
and hatred...
sticks of greed
and apathy.
sticks of profit
and loss....
sticks of capitalism,
and oil....
sticks of guns,
and patriotism.
sticks of sexual abuse
and addiction...
sticks of oppression,
and slavery....
stoke the fire!
build it up till
it's all gone....
maybe we'll find
...tomorrow..
in the ashes!

No Difference (For Hune)
it is in the dissolution of self
that the self is revealed...
in various and innumerable forms,
constant birth and dying,
constant evolving...
yet never constant!
wave after wave,
individual in nature,
yet plural in nature.
ocean, wave, ocean!
the half burnt candle,
and the star exploding,
no difference!
the child playing with sticks and stones,
and the pyramids...
no difference!
the lone man standing on the mountaintop,
and a million starving children...
no difference!

Could Bear To Look!
broke down,
system.
faces peeled,
razor knives.
hands cut off,
feet bloodied.
mouths open,
gulping air.
eyes plucked out
by the lies.
souls bartered
for a cup of rice.
flags burning,
bodies strewn.
the well oiled wheel,
turns in spite.
no god,
could bear to look!

When and Why
When I bring you coloured toys, my child, I understand why there
is such a play of colours on clouds, on water, and why flowers are
painted in tints-when I give coloured toys to you, my child.
When I sing to make you dance, I truly know why there is music
in leaves, and why waves send their chorus of voices to the heart
of the listening earth-when I sing to make you dance.
When I bring sweet things to your greedy hands, I know why
there is honey in the cup of the flower, and why fruits are
secretly filled with sweet juice-when I bring sweet things to your
greedy hands.
When I kiss your face to make you smile, my darling, I surely
understand what pleasure streams from the sky in morning light, and
what delight the summer breeze brings to my body-when I kiss you
to make you smile.

But in the Wine-presses the Human Grapes Sing not nor Dance
But in the Wine-presses the human grapes sing not nor dance:
They howl and writhe in shoals of torment, in fierce flames consuming,
In chains of iron and in dungeons circled with ceaseless fires,
In pits and dens and shades of death, in shapes of torment and woe:
The plates and screws and racks and saws and cords and fires and cisterns
The cruel joys of Luvah's Daughters, lacerating with knives
And whips their victims, and the deadly sport of Luvah's Sons.
They dance around the dying and they drink the howl and groan,
They catch the shrieks in cups of gold, they hand them to one another:
These are the sports of love, and these the sweet delights of amorous play,
Tears of the grape, the death sweat of the cluster, the last sigh
Of the mild youth who listens to the luring songs of Luvah.----
