Unicorn 8

In the deepening dusk of forest glade,
in the mist of clouds rolling over the high hills,
in the sea-fog rolling in at turn of tide,
what feature of its form alerts us first
that it’s so present, now, and here?

That spiralled horn – why is it that we know
that’s where it should be seen,
that place upon our forehead we can feel ourselves?

The unicorn within us knows –
when attention spirals to a fine, fine point
and thought is stilled; that’s when
our single-pointed horn calls presence to its purest form,
its purest place, within ourself;
ourself; unicorn.

Unicorn 11

Where the unlimited, expanding, limiting itself as it expands,
reaches where it can limit itself no further –
there it is; there in its, our, world; there you may see it;
where it could not be more beautiful
and yet be seen; where it could have
no other form, and still have form;
where it is most itself.

And so, where we are most ourself,
when we are most ourself, it’s there;
near; you may see it; you may not; near;
you and it, so close; and where
we are where all the stories tell –
the gate, the door, the mirror, the key that calls the hand,
the undergrowth pushed through, and there –
in the clearing in the woods, it is;
treading on the silent mossy ground,
can white be so transparent?
waiting for nothing and yet there;

where the limited meets the unlimited,
where we know
that whom we always knew we are,
unlimited;

Unicorn.

And The Money Kept Rolling In (And Out)

Che: And the money kept rolling in from every side

Eva's pretty hands reached out and they reached wide
Now you may feel it should have been a voluntary cause
But that's not the point my friends
When the money keeps rolling in you don't ask how
Think of all the people guaranteed a good time now
Eva's called the hungry to her open up the doors
Never been a fund like the Foundation Eva Peron

Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling on in rolling on in rolling on in rolling on in on in

Would you like to try a college education
Own your landlord's house take the family on vacation
Eva and her blessed fund can make your dreams come true
Here's all you have to do my friends
Write your name and your dream on a card or a pad or a ticket
Throw it high into the air and should our lady pick it
She will change your way of life for a week or even two
Name me anyone who cares as much as Eva Peron

Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling rolling rolling
Rolling on out rolling on out rolling on out rolling on out on out

And the money kept rolling out in all directions
To the poor to the weak to the destitute of all complexions
Now cynics claim a little of the cash has gone astray
But that's not the point my friends
When the money keeps rolling out you don't keep books
You can tell you've done well by the happy grateful looks
Accountants only slow things down figures get in the way
Never been a lady loved as much as Eva Peron

Thanks To The Rolling Sea

(words & music by batchelor - roberts)
Thanks to the rolling, rolling, rolling, thanks to the rolling sea
Thanks to the rolling, rolling, rolling, thanks to the rolling sea
Fish on the table and fish on the fire, fried fish hanging on the tree
Everything here that your heart desires, thanks to the rolling sea
Thanks to the rolling sea
Living is good and living is fine, were happy as can be
We owe all this to the salty brine, thanks to the rolling sea
Thanks to the rolling sea
We work all day but our hearts are gay, and while we work we sing
The mighty sea is good to us and weve got everything
Abalone steaks and tuna fish cakes, taste so heavenly
We know who we owe it to, thanks to the rolling sea
Thanks to the rolling, rolling, rolling, thanks to the rolling sea

The Unicorn

In the land of make believe
lives a creature in the wild.
Sleek, white and beautiful to see,
I become again as a child.

I ride bare-back and feel the muscles
of this steed with a horn.
We ride through the clouds slowly
and a new morn is born.

I will tame his wildness and spirit
for I am still a virgin.
Chaste and still able to mount.
I have the power over him.

Unicorn, my unicorn I fear growing up
for surely I will fall in love
and maidenheads will be forgotten
and you will rise above

searching for another virgin maiden
to grab hold your horn in their hand.
And I will miss the ride we shared
in this wonderful magic land.

Unicorn 6

Self-moved; self-stilled; why then for us
this noble creature takes the form of unicorn?

Part horse, with shaggy goatlike hooves,
and lion’s tail; and on heraldic shields
its glorious spiralled horn so fitly crowned
with lilied coronet, marking royal intelligence;
proud in its humility and gentle in its strength,
sometimes rearing up, and sometimes bowing low.
Why then this form?

Forgotten, then, the ancient reasoning, or only
part remembered: that the Creator gave to man
dominion and tender care of all His creatures.
All living things called animals, share living heart;
Thus all with heart are in our close-knit care.
Man and horse
the ancient working team; so agile in the battle,
so bonded in a war of death and life; so faithfully
untiring in the working, drawing, ploughing day;
and in play, in tournament, so joyous,
bonded to mankind; what wonder
that this creature looks so nearly as a horse?

A lion’s reminiscence, lordly in authority, there too;
and goat, so footsure feeding on the crags; so when
the kingdom of the beasts seeks to repay mankind,
it’s said their gratitude then takes this creature’s form
to be more ready recognised by man; leaving
to those beasts more domesticated – and more consumed -
who used to share even man’s abode -
the cows, the sheep – and, prophetically,
the humblest, least complaining, beast of burden, ass,
the honour of attendance there
around the stabled birth of God as man…

When love and gratitude bonds man and creatures in his care
- with fellow creatures of his own mankind -
this creature, purest love, is seen to gently graze
as if it were forever there; self-moved; self-stilled.

UniCandle unicorn had a coupon that expired soon,
UniCandle unicorn joined Dave's email club yesterday at noon.

a delicious chocolate coconut banana which is really sweet!
Now UniCandle unicorn had to fly back to Krendoll again,
but he would stop back to see Mr. Big Toe who is his new found friend.

O Unicorn!

Ye lovely horse
with fore-head horn –
O unicorn!
Ye folk-lore beast,
From heaven born:
Where hast thou gone?

With lovely mane,
Ye came in dreams,
O unicorn!
To true virgin,
In moonlit beams,
To sleep upon!

To dance awhile
In pastures green,
O unicorn!
With feet agile,
And cloud-white sheen,
In early morn!

When earth was new,
And men were good,
O unicorn;
Then leaves had dew,
And forests, wood;
And fields had corn!

By fair maidens,
And lovely dames,
Ye were allured;
And turning tame,
Ye played a game,
O unicorn!

O beauteous beast,
Mystical one,
O unicorn!
Ye did adorn
The ages past –
Have ye now ceased?

Purest Feeling

Purest feeling
Purest feeling
Well I think Im gonna push it
As far as it will go
Give in to desire
Only you will know
So tell me all your secrets
Ill stick it in your head
I wish I could remember
Everything she said
Purest feeling
Purest feeling
Purest feeling
Purest feeling
Well she could be a saviour
With everything she does
Or some kind of punishment
For people just like us
I dont really believe she understands
Whats happening to me
The sooner that she gets it
The better it will be
Purest feeling
Purest feeling
Purest feeling
Purest feeling
I have got to figure it out
I just want to know
I cant live with it
Purest feeling

Unicorn 13

who does not wish, openly or secretly,
to meet it, in some quiet place?
even a secret image in the mind's dead index
of those materialists who
deny it a reality, calling it a
‘mythological creature’ – as if
the mind were not superior to flesh and earth?

this, the very reason for
its longevity – who would not,
were it material, have hunted it by now
for a prince’s ransom, its magic horn ground down, hunted to
extinction – so that we would say
‘as dead as unicorn’ and left
the dodo forgotten and unmourned?
and so, to be a myth is logical…

and thus, the unicorn lives, beyond
some banal death at a hunter’s hands;
easy, peaceful in its own preserves,
grazing in the pure air of our minds,
free to remind us that we too are born free.

the secrets of creation
hide in such unthought hills as paradox –
we, yearning for a meeting
in a place we know not where
where in that still and silent place
loud with silent joy,
moving in ways beyond the movement seen,
we meet it when the looking stops

and paradox on paradox,
once met, we do not seek to meet and meet again –
its tender single glance
tells us for ever that it always lived
inside ourselves; we ourselves
that ‘mythological creature’,
more real than our mirrored self,
grazing in the wooded groves of stillness,
the mossy dells of silence; or,
its wild mane wind-tossed,
on the flying highest hills of freedom
or bright-eyed, salt-browed, white
between the spraying waves and curling surf:
knowing ourselves to be, forever to have been:

The Unicorn

As I wandered through the woods one night,
I stumbled upon a most magnificent sight.
It was an hour or so, before the break of dawn,
That, in a moonlit clearing, I spied a Unicorn.

Hidden behind a tree, I stood and stared;
To reveal myself to him, I did not dare.
In the grassy clearing, he stood and grazed,
As I stood there watching him, in a daze.

Of the Unicorn’s beauty, I was in total awe;
He was the most majestic creature I ever saw.
His coat was as white as freshly fallen snow,
And, it had to it, a pearlescent, luminous glow.

His flickering ears were alerted by every sound;
At the tiniest whisper, his head turned around.
His golden, spiral horn stood at least a foot long;
Heaven help the creature who does him wrong!

The moon shone in his large, dark, reflective eyes.
Although he seemed so gentle, he seemed so wise.
His long, soft, shiny mane was just like ‘angel hair’;
Curled around his neck and shoulders, it flowed there.

His hooves, like his horn, were of burnished gold.
He really was the most beautiful sight to behold.
Suddenly, he galloped off into the surrounding mist.
Now, having seen a Unicorn, I know that they do exist.

Levon

Levon
Now came the right time to go to that paradise
That is on the other side of the world
But you climb on the unicorn first
And I will climb after you on the unicorn
But I hope that the unicorn can handle our weight
Because the unicorn alone is 820 lbs
And we are 460 lbs
Yes our wieght is fine for the Unicorn
Levon
When we get to the paradise it will be onthe other side of the world
But I hope that we get the paradise the way we want
And we can take a bath in the lake in the paradise
Levon
How big is the paradise?
The paradise is the size of a soccer field
Levon
Sleep now and I will sleep with you also
In the paradise
That paradise belong to us now
And nobody else will be able to share this paradise with us
Because it has room just for the two of us
But we are not going to see cars or ambulances in paradise
Because paradise is not like the earth
And paradise is much better than earth

Unicorn 7

This forest glade, mossy, silent underfoot,
shaft of sunlight catching the quivering flight of woodland moths,
tempts even the shyest, slender deer
whose slightest nostril twitch, reveals a whole forest’s map;
the crackle of a single twig, a disappearing, graceful leap;
yet even the deer graze undisturbed
when in a thought’s space, that creature’s there;
for not proximity but presence, is what they share;
each, in peace, moves in the other’s presence;
this we know as peace.

and on the high hills where the air is ever on the move,
the eagle, circling like the first navigator
of the globe – yet seeing so much more –
glances undisturbed; with knowledge, and love, too, that’s beyond
family, or prey, when that strange, familiar white creature
with flowing mane, prances, canters, into sight; their presence shared
so far apart; so near.

and in the foamy waves, the dolphins leap and sport
around it, as that creature, open-mouthed as if in joy,
shakes from its wet and glorious mane
the salty drops of water, while the dolphins
speak to it in a language beyond beauty’s sound –

so this noble creature in its turn
undisturbed by those to whom it shows itself
beyond all perturbations of the world;
detached, yet gives itself to all;

Orpheus, or unicorn, or Muse –
to be led by such a creature, joyously,
knowing nothing of the where or here or there
but trust – this the poetry of the world.

To ride upon the unicorn.

Rollin' with the Flow

Once was a thought inside my head
Before I'd reach thirty I'd be dead
Now somehow on and on I go
I keep on rolling with the flow
Folks said that I would change my mind
I'd straighten up and do just fine
Ahh, but I still love rock and roll
I keep on rolling with the flow
While guys my age are raising kids
I'm raising hell just like I did
I've got a lot of crazy friends
And they forgive me of my sins
Some might be calling me a bum
But I'm still out there having fun
And Jesus loves me, yes, I know
So, I keep on rolling with the flow
(Keep on rolling with the flow)
While guys my age are raising kids
But I'm raising hell just like I did
I've got a lot of crazy friends
And they forgive me of my sins
Can't take it with you when you're gone
But I want enough to get there on
And I ain't ever growing old
So, I keep on rolling with the flow
(Keep on rolling with the flow)
I ain't ever growing old
If I keep on rolling with the flow
(Keep on rolling, keep on rolling)
Keep on rolling with the flow
(Keep on rolling, keep on rolling)
Keep on rolling with the flow
(Keep on rolling, keep on rolling)

The Last Unicorn

Written by jimmy webb, 1982
Found on the last unicorn soundtrack, your move (french import only), premium gold collection, centenary collection, and highway.
When the last eagle flies over the last crumbling mountain
And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain
In the shadow of the forest though she may be old and worn
They will stare unbelieving at the last unicorn
When the first breath of winter through the flowers is icing
And you look to the north and a pale moon is rising
And it seems like all is dying and would leave the world to mourn
In the distance hear the laughter of the last unicorn
Im alive, Im alive
When the last moon is cast over the last star of morning
And the future has passed without even a last desperate warning
Then look into the sky where through the clouds a path is torn
Look and see her how she sparkles, its the last unicorn
Im alive, Im alive
