0412 The wind and the tree
The soft spring wind
is whispering words of love
to the slender branches
whose leaves flutter
like young girls
talking of love
(for Brian Tinsley with best wishes)

Younger Girls
Words and music by robin zander and rick nielsen
Try to bend me, try to shake me
Try and turn my head around
Oh try to change me, rearrange me
I think you know about the boy you found
A fantasy like this is hit and run
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
I had a dream about girls like you
You said call us, you'll get two
One for your money, two for the show
I'll give you something more
I know,i know,i know,i know
It's hard enough to make you wanna cry
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
It's hard enough to make you wanna cry
And it drives me out of my mind
I'm in love with you, baby
My poor innocent baby
Don't you say maybe
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Feels so good, let me in
I might jump right out of my skin
Don't you ever grow up little girl
Sweet young thing, not so innocent
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
(repeat to coda)

The Birds' Lullaby
I
Sing to us, cedars; the twilight is creeping
With shadowy garments, the wilderness through;
All day we have carolled, and now would be sleeping,
So echo the anthems we warbled to you;
While we swing, swing,
And your branches sing,
And we drowse to your dreamy whispering.
II
Sing to us, cedars; the night-wind is sighing,
Is wooing, is pleading, to hear you reply;
And here in your arms we are restfully lying,
And longing to dream to your soft lullaby;
While we swing, swing,
And your branches sing,
And we drowse to your dreamy whispering.
III
Sing to us, cedars; your voice is so lowly,
Your breathing so fragrant, your branches so strong;
Our little nest-cradles are swaying so slowly,
While zephyrs are breathing their slumberous song.
And we swing, swing,
While your branches sing,
And we drowse to your dreamy whispering.

Im In Love
Mom is talking on the phone talking to her agent
Got a big role in the egg & i
Dad is in the hall checking the replacements
Got the underware in overdrive
Somethings going on
I can hear the rumble getting louder on the quiet side
Call it what you want
Some will call it hunger
Some will call it everything in sight
So let the girls wear pants
Let the young boys dance in twos
And the walls? paint em blue!
cause Im in love with you
Summer turns to fall every single summer
Its a wonder that were still around
Well I could build a wall, I could be a bummer
I could tell you everythings down
Oh somethings going on
I can hear the grumble getting quiet on the louder side
Call it what you want
Some will call it thunder
Someone else will call it dynamite
So let the girls romance
Give the young boys dancing shoes
And the walls? paint em blue!
cause Im in love
Im in love with bees & birds (Im in love)
Im in love with the sun (Im in love)
Im in love with thought of the day
When the world is one (Im in love)
Im in love with the boys and girls (Im in love)
Im in love with the rain
Im in love with the sound you make
When you call my name
Sounds like peace again
Somethings awful wrong falling down is easy
Its the getting up thats getting hard
Call it what you want it can be misleading
But it can also take you where you are
Well I can hear them all talking to their faces
This is not the way you want to be
Take it to the wall or any other place
And you will see what Ive been trying to mean
So let the young girls dance
With the young boys dancing too
And the walls? paint em blue!
cause Im in love
Im in love with the boys and girls (Im in love)
Im in love with the sun (Im in love)
Im in love with thought of the day
When the world is one (Im in love)
Im in love with bees & birds (Im in love)
Im in love with the rain
Im in love with the sound you make
When you call my name
Sounds like peace again
Im in love (Im in love)

Verses II
Supposed to have been written in the New Forest,
in early Spring.
AS in the woods, where leathery Lichen weaves
Its wint'ry web among the sallow leaves,
Which (through cold months in whirling eddies blown)
Decay beneath the branches once their own,
From the brown shelter of their foliage sear,
Spring the young blooms that lead the floral year:
When, waked by vernal suns, the Pilewort dares
Expand her spotted leaves, and shining stars
And (veins empurpling all her tassels pale)
Bends the soft Wind-flower in the tepid gale;
Uncultured bells of azure Jacynth's blow,
And the breeze-scenting Violet lurks below:
So views the wanderer, with delighted eyes,
Reviving hopes from black despondence rise,
When, blighted by adversity's chill breath,
Those hopes had felt a temporary death;
Then with gay heart he looks to future hours,
When love shall dress for him the summer bowers.
And, as delicious dreams enchant his mind,
Forgets his sorrows past, or gives them to the wind.

Brian Lubeck
I will hold your hand
And we shall dance
The chacha
The sound of
Brian lubeck
Is chacha
I hold you by my hand
Your hand
Your side
Of pleasure
As I slide
My mind
To your
Soft slender
Body swaying
The chacha
To the magic
Of brian lubeck
How I wish
To make love
To someone
Like you
Tonight
Nameless
Woman of
This dancing floor
Where your name
Is simply
A chacha
To the beat
Of brian lubeck.

Tell thee truth, sweet; no
TELL thee truth, sweet; no.
Truth is cross and sad and cold:
Lies are pitiful and kind,
Honey-soft as Love's own tongue:
Let me, love, lie so.
Lies are like a summer wind,
Wooing flower-buds to unfold
Lies will last while men are young.
Tell thee truth, love; no.
Let me, sweet, lie so.
Lies are Hope's light ministers,
Footless birds upon the wing:
Truth's a name for plodding care:
Tell thee truth, sweet; no.
Truth's the east wind on the Spring—
'Tis the wind, not Spring-time, errs.
Lies will last while maids are fair.
Let me lie, love, so.

Try A Little Tenderness
(harry woods/jimmy campbell/reg connelly)
Oh she may be weary
Young girls they do got weary
Wearing that same old shabby dress
Yeah yeah yeah
But when she gets weary
Try a little tenderness
Oh yeah, thats all you gotta do
You know shes there waiting
Just anticipating
Things that shell never, never possess
No no no
But while shes there waiting
Try a little tenderness
Its not just sentimental, no no no no
She has her grief and cares
But the soft words
That are spoke so gently, yeah
It makes it easier, easier to bear
You wont regret it
Young girls they dont forget it
Love is their only happiness
Yeah yeah yeah
Its so so easy
Try a little tenderness
You know what I mean
But the soft words
They are spoken so gently, yeah, yeah
It makes it easier, easier to bear
She may be weary
Young girls they do got weary
Wearing that same old shabby dress
Yeah yeah yeah
But when she gets weary
Try a little tenderness
Yeah, a little tenderness
Thats all youve gotta do
Listen to me
Try, try, try, try
One time for the last time
A little bit of tenderness
Tenderness, tenderness
Ooh, need you, I love you
I want you tonight, love me, baby
A little bit of tenderness

Can't Stop Now
Vanilla tulips
I hum softly
Wind in my hair
But can’t stop, can’t stop now
Crack of branches
Soft steps coming closer
Clouds in the distance
One for me, one for you
But won’t come, won’t come today
So hold out till tomorrow
Your breathing, so soft
So vulnerable
Hang on to a wish
You made yesterday
But won’t end, won’t end now
At peace with everything
Chill runs through me
Close my eyes
Glad for this diamond desert
This fantasy, right here, right now
But the fortune-teller’s misled
Cheerful, friendly, but misled
My head must weigh an eternity
More than words can describe
Only thoughts and dreams
And wishes
Can describe
Vanilla tulips
Come again
I hum softer now
Wind, that same wind in my hair
But can’t stop, can’t stop now
Crack of branches
Soft steps coming closer
Clouds in the distance
One for me, one for you
But won’t come, won’t come today
So hold out till tomorrow
The chat of two women
Two classmates were chatting.
By chance they've met in the street, indeed.
They were not so old and not so young,
much more than forty.
The first one said: 'I feel so young
and want to be sometimes so naughty,
I want to love again and certainly be loved, .
I want the romances to sing,
I want to fly so high in a swing,
I want to dance under the rain
in Spain, on the plain..............,
To hear sweet words of love again,
To die of passion.'
Another one said with a compassion:
'What are you talking about?
I can live happily without
all those crazy wishes of yours,
cause I don't like anyone
to shatter my peace and quiet,
I think how soon I'll be retired.
Put those foolish wishes out of your head.
We are getting old,
all we had had already past.
I remember you've always been an enthusiast.
Two women were chatting,
The first one just forgetting her age,
the other one was old enough
and her life was a real tough.
Two women were chatting,
Two different destinies and souls.
The first one was full of life.
The second one was getting empty.

Spring Lovers
Love comes like a rose-vine clinging upward
Grasping for that first cool breeze of spring air
With a kiss of sunrise to its beauty’s reward
Fragrance burst out from its eminent bud’s lair.
When withered tree stands upon winter’s bliss,
And a snow shimmers on its branches’ content,
Love comes in spring for new leaves then to hiss,
Till this season’s course breakthrough its intent
When castles of clouds assent playful birds
Glide high and low beyond their leafy shrines
And the sunset’s amber blush oceans’ greens,
Spring is from the hearts of many sky’s herds
When the prairie cast its colors from the distant,
Unfold their leaves to dance with the windward,
And the cattle begins to sheave in a wide verdant
Spring spread love to the land of the shepherd
When the sun gives the moon a tranquil light
To the faintest stars throughout sky’s height
And the wind chimes playing a great harmony
Under the moon is where spring lovers stay

Whispers In Blindness
Darlin you were looking good
When you came to me
And asked for a dance
And I said we can dance
Felt like a queen
Swedish summernights are hot
And the trees can talk
We lay on the grass
So easily, so blessed
Whispers in blindness
And I didnt hold you back
Im talking about it babe
Cause youve been teasing me
Im talking about it
Cause you are bad right through
Stay with me and I shall want
No other love
Stay with me another love another lie
Stay with me and I shall want
No other love
You were talking so sweet
But you were touching
And teasing
I can hear the soft bells ring
Through a thousand years
They call out to me
They say its only once in a life we love
Now Ive had the honour too
You were holding my hand
You were kissing my skin
Stay with me
Trees are whispering
Only once my dear

The Autumn That Suddenly Gambol Recklessly
The autumn that suddenly gambol recklessly
drawing bright lines, made me think of you
but we were worlds apart
when the stars were shining late in the night.
Still I had dreamt about you,
that you like spring
come young and pretty to me,
while the wind was blowing through your hair,
whispering words of love through the reeds
and a whole squadron of birds were singing along
and that night wasn’t dark anymore,
your eyes went to the depths of my soul.

There Is a Solemn Wind Tonight
There is a solemn wind to-night
That sings of solemn rain;
The trees that have been quiet so long
Flutter and start again.
The slender trees, the heavy trees,
The fruit trees laden and proud,
Lift up their branches to the wind
That cries to them so loud.
The little bushes and the plants
Bow to the solemn sound,
And every tiniest blade of grass
Shakes on the quiet ground.

The Whispering Wind
like the whispering wind you sent to me
like the hopeless time you gave to me
i watched your dreams all slip away
i watched your dreams all slip away
there's a hopeless place inside my heart
when i look inside i see where we are
like the whispering wind in the top of the trees
i will watch the sky come following me
like the rain on my windows late every night
like the hope i have for us every time
it's like the whispering wind in the top of the trees
i see it sway as you come for me
there's a whispering wind i feel it inside
like a place i can feel but never will see
let a whisper come touch you come touch every thing
i stand in the way of the things i can be
let the whispering wind come lift us away
let it push us apart if we wish to stay
you're my sweetness my baby my love for all time
like the whispering wind it makes you all mine
like the whispering wind you stand here with me
like the whispering wind you stand here with me
i see your dreams all slip away
slip away
slip away
slip away

Too Young For Love
Too young for love?
Ah, say not so!
Tell reddening rose-buds not to blow
Wait not for spring to pass away,--
Love's summer months begin with May!
Too young for love?
Ah, say not so!
Too young? Too young?
Ah, no! no! no!
Too young for love?
Ah, say not so,
To practise all love learned in May.
June soon will come with lengthened day
While daisies bloom and tulips glow!
Too young for love?
Ah, say not so!
Too young? Too young?
Ah, no! no! no!

One makes the other.
Wind blows; leaves wave.
Leaves wave; wind moves.
Carbon cools; food forms.
Food burns; carbon leaves.
Boys love; girls nod.
Girls nod; boys jump.

To spring (in reply to John Keats)
When the last impact of winter disappears,
the sun starts to glow bright in its longing,
cold days are dissipated by sunshine
you arrive in your pretty enchantment
with joyful countenance,
in a dashing conquering,
causing everything to sprout new
skipping along like a young child capering,
then you spread you bridal gown out wide
run jolly and overjoyed
so that insects, birds unite with you rejoicing.
Everybody are swept away by your jauntiness
when blossoms are snow white, golden yellow, blushing pink on branches
insects, birds, the wind, the weather are in love with you, are your followers
as if everything in your presence have great joy,
I hear your voice in every whispering
while you hop along, spread your hair and are flaunting
as a girl, slender and pure bringing arms full of love
full of life, full of passion and still young,
you sing the whole day long
drunk with love
stretching your arms out to me, circling out wider.
For you, everybody sings a paean
the wind, birds and insects sing glad
as if you sweep the feet out from under everything
from the big enchantment, that everything living gets from you
as if your rule will never pass,
suddenly all living things are exuberantly free
and you are so innocent, so without suspicion,
but for me you stay a love child
blinding with your beauty
and even the first rain worships you
seeks pampering from you.

Rainbows Painting This Very Day
I dance with you with clouds to twinkle thru,
We surrender to the rainbows painting this very day
Waltzing o'er tree tops green against the bluest blue, `
Darting here darting there not a moment for to stay.
We hung around still, to form our wings waiting for our dance
Butterflies in love we flutter wings changing with the wind,
Resting on a golden leaf for love our only chance
We stand for life's beauty never can rescind.
Natures brush bestowed its glory for us just to show
Spring is nigh and you know in just a passing glance
That it's a pleasure just to make your eyes brighten with a glow
So remember for the sunshine spring we will always do a flutter dance!

Autuemn's Leave's Of Royalty
As the wind caressed playfully by my side,
It brought up the Autumn leaves that engulfed the sky,
Spreading colors of red, orange, yellow, the colors of you,
Like dust in the wind. You were a lovely rose dancing astray,
In my mind, soul, heart you were there to stay,
Whispering louder for if people should hear,
The words ‘I loved you” were very clear,
As it lifted me into the sky piercing me with its power,
I was enveloped in the leaves belonging to your royalty,
Love was enchanted in these magical leaves, For your heart to mine,
For they meant I belonged to you
My Beloved Autumn Queen
