0019 An intrusive thought in the bathroom at Christmas
We control freaks like to feel
we have our thoughts in some sort
of order; though yes, we like to have
spontaneous feelings, it shows
that we are human (not just
control freaks, ha) - but we like to feel
we have those feelings, too, within
some sort of mental framework –
Saint Paul stricken, on the road to Tarsus,
with a blinding epiphany
is good to read about – it can happen
to others, great – but, as the song goes,
but not for me…
It happened, with a corny total appropriateness,
on Christmas morning (I almost feel
I have to apologise for that…) : I’d overslept;
hadn’t even put the radio on, to work myself
gently into Christmas cheer;
the bath was running; and then
I suddenly felt blest.
No. Knew myself blest.
You’d have to know
the nervous, melancholic, depressive me
to know the inconvenient inappropriateness
of that ‘state of grace’ as some would say;
my control freak brain couldn’t find a mental slot
where such thoughts belong; while registering
that many people would feel only
gratitude for that..
but that was it: it had happened;
now I had it in my memory
for the rest of my life; I had to deal with it; and worse,
I knew that what I recognised
so inconveniently, as the bath filled up,
was something that had a future and a past,
and if true in this brief moment
then had been, would be, true for ever…

There’s a beautiful tradition
that while those who give
are blest, that those who receive their gift
are not blest until (rather like
‘pass the parcel’ which we play
sometimes on Christmas Day)
they pass the gift along
to someone else..
But this control freak thinks,
try to tell someone else
and you can finish up
not believing it yourself..
I guess I’ll have to try
writing a poem about it sometime
but without
trying to find some sorta
mental framework for it
etc.

Torture remains
i cried myself to sleep,
3 hours later,
i still can't think of nothing else,
the torture you did to me,
you made me bow down to you,
you made me do what i didn't want to do,
i was scared of you,
a child who wanted to be loved,
becames a sexual toy instead,
what makes it worse,
you wasn't even family,
everybody had there doubts,
but you made them believe,
that you were some kind of saint,
made me feel like i don't belong,
i still feel that way until this day,
in my heart i know i'm better than just sex,
but in my mind i believe its all i'm good for,
do you know how hard it is,

Christmas wishes.
A Christmas tale so dear to me
Of Christmas past, now, and to be
A ghostly figure told each one
And this is how my tale begun
The 1st ghost showed me Christmas past
2 children playing with dreams to last
Parents watching as they grew

I'm Not Brave Or Known For Courage
I'm not brave or known for courage I am allergic to fear
Of the violent and aggressive I am happy to stay clear
And far too many violent people in the World of today
Who don't respect the rights of others that does seem quite sad to say.
The living life form that I fear most happens to be my fellow man
Of those known to be violent I avoid them if I can
Even on their best behaviour bullies they have darkness of the soul
And one must say they are quite dangerous when they are out of control.
I'm not brave or known for courage just your average ageing bloke
And I like being with laid back people those who like to tell a joke
These to me are feel good people they are nice to get to know
Acquaintances with their sort into friendships do grow.
One known for to be violent could never be my friend
I see their type as control freaks of that I won't pretend
I like the easy going sort power over others they don't need
Not hard to get along with and quite likeable indeed.

The Empty Box
This I will not put into my normal rhyme and verse, for it is a story of
Faith and hope.
The empty box
I felt empty inside, as the greatest gift had been taken away.
Like an empty Christmas box with all the ribbons and bows
On the outside showing all its beauties, but no one
Knew that the box was empty inside.
What happened? Who took out that gift?
Was it supposed to be temporary
For it was something that I truly missed.
What is the purpose of a beautiful decorated box
If there is nothing inside, to show the depth
and meaning of its wrappings.
Had I taken out the gift? Or misplaced or given it away?
I did not know!
An empty box is like a universe without its stars
Or sun or moon. Void and dark.
I felt like a floating object in space with no
Beginning and no end.
I still had my mind active and working.
I decided to back track to the times before this
And what could have happened.
I had an untimely death of a family member
Then I was laid off from work.
I didn’t have enough money to make
My car or mortgage payments, and to top it off
I wound up with a severe cold.
That was when I turned angrily and blamed god
For all my misfortunes.
But by doing this - I became empty inside
With no emotions, I then realized that this
Is one of many misfortunes to come to test my faith.
I knelt down on my knees and prayed for forgiveness
For allowing myself to weaken.
I then recalled the poem - “ footprints in the sand”
And I felt my heart start to fill up again.
For I knew that in my weakest hours
God would carry me.
Now! That Christmas gift was replenished
And filled the emptiness with the most beautiful gift
This world could ever know.
FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE.
I knew things would work out for me
If I just gave god my problems to take care of.
So if you see an empty gift box!
It is not really empty, for it contains
GODS LOVE FOR ALL HIS CHILDREN.
