On With The Show

Frankie died just the other night
Some say it was suicide
But we know
How the story goes

With his six string knife
And his street-wise pride
The boy was a man before his time
And she knew
All their dreams would come true

But ya see Frankie was fast
He was too fast to know
He wouldn't go slow
Until his lethal dose
And she knows
He'll finally come too close

[Chorus]
Well on with the show
Going on with the show
Come on baby
No

[Chorus]
Well, on with the show.
Going on with the show.
Come on baby
No, no, no.
Oh my, my, my . . .
[repeat]
He was bad.
He was never good.
But one thing that he understood.
And she knew
All those lies would come true.
The time has come and
He's paid his dues.
Suzy finally got the news.
She always knew
This day would come soon.
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
He was stopped on a dime
With a switchblade knife.
Some damn punk went and
Took Frankie's life.
And she knew
She'd have to pull through.
Broken down, with his broken dreams,
With a wink of an eye
Said "Suzy, listen to me
You must go
On with the show."
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
Oh baby!

Frankie & Johnny

[l.d.] "we'll take it a bit slower"
"this is, this is the, huh, this is the first song i ever learned, actually"
Frankie and johnny were sweethearts
Lordy, how they could love
Swore to be true to each other
Yeah, true to the skies above
He was her man, wouldn't do her no wrong
And frankie and johnny went walkin'
And johnny had on a new suit
Yeah, frankie spent one-hundred dollar notes
Just to make her man look cute
He was her man, he wouldn't do her no wrong
Frankie went over to the barroom
Stopped for a bottle of beer
Said to the old bartender man
"has my lover johnny man been here?"
"he was my man, lord, but he'd been doin' me wrong, so wrong."
Yeah frankie looked over the transom door
And then to her great surprise
There sat her lover man johnny
Makin' love to nellie bly
He was her man, but he was doin' her wrong
Well frankie lifted up her kimono dress
And she drew (ladaladalala) out a little .44
She shot once, twice, three times (three times) she shot him
And through that hardwood (door) floor
Yeah she shot her man (yeah he was her man)
Well but he been doin' her wrong yeah
He said, "roll me over so careful ah
Roll me over so slow,
Oh roll me on to my left hand side,
Because your bullet hurt me so,
I was your man, but i been doin' you wrong."
Play it chris!
(instrumental)
Well they sent for frankie's mother
Come down to huddy's saloon
To see what's the matter with her boy
She come down, frankie looked up at her
Here what she said:
She said, "oh mrs. johnson, oh forgive me please
Well i killed your lovin' son, johnny
But i'm down on my bended knee
I shot your man, 'cause he was doin' me wrong." ah
She said, "i'll forgive you frankie,"
She said, "i'll forgive you not, not
For killin' my lovin' son johnny,
He's the only support that i've got,
'cause you shot my man and he was doin' you wrong."
Well the last time i seen frankie
She was a-sittin' in a dungeon cell
She would be there moanin', herself
With no one there to care
She shot her man, a he'd been doin' her wrong, so wrong
Well bring out the overtime hearse all day long
You gotta bring out the pony and truck hey
They're gonna take johnny, johnny to the cemetary (graveyard)
And they ain't never coming back
Oh he was her man, oh but he been doin' her wrong, so wrong
Well the story ain't got no moral, lordy
But the story ain't got no end
Well the story only goes to show
That there ain't no damn good in men
He was her man, but he was doin' her wrong
Yeah, ba-da-ba-ba-da-ba-ba-da-ba-ba-ba-ba

Frankie carroll
He got drunk last night
I tried my best to help him
But he wound up in a fight
And his missy got him
She said
Frankie, its alright
Frankie wont do you wrong
Frankie carroll
He beat his kids last night
I dont like you kids shouting
Shut up now, dont care whos wrong or right
And his missy got him
She said
Frankie, Ill keep the kids quiet
Frankie, frankie, whats wrong?
Frankie carroll
He fell to bed last night
And his head hung off the pillow
And his eyes were closed shut tight
And his missy
She got up and turned out the light

Frankie Lee

Writers: leo sayer & ray parker, jr.
On every corner of every avenue
The words been passed all around
Better watch out, lock up your daughters
cause that bad frankie lee is back in town
All the ladies fall for frankie
Sayin, frankie lee, how can it be
Of all the men here, youre the only one
Whos got the key, to set us free
Oh, frankie lee
Now theres a woman, in this neighborhood
Whos loving frankie in her mind
But in fear of bein discovered
She keeps her secret locked up inside
Just then a stones thrown up at the window
And she looks below, what does she see
Theres a man there, standing neath the streetlight
It looks to be
Like frankie lee
Youd best believe
Well, old frankie steals through the back door
While her old man is leavin by the hall
But before she hears his footsteps
Frankies standing at the bedroom door
So she holds him, then she begs him
Oh frankie lee, dont cha ever leave
And he tells her, shes the only one
Hes got the key
That frankie lee
To set her free
Then as the moon fades, into the night sky
Frankie leaves while shes asleep
Then hes up and out on the street again
Hes got the key thatll set you free
That frankie lee
Every kid in this ol gangtown
Theyd want to be like frankie lee
Please the ladies, like a vagabond
Hes got the key
That frankie lee
To set them free
Yeah, every kid in this ol gangtown
Yeah, theyd want to be like frankie lee
Cassanova and valentino
Theyd like to be as good as frankie lee
Every kid in this ol gangtown
Theyd like to be like frankie lee
Please the ladies, like a vagabond
Hes got the key
That frankie lee
To set them free

Don't Go Too Fast

Verse 1:
Destination nowhere land
Let us find a place where heartaches end
It's good to hold you tight
Just make me surrender
Come on in and find out baby
We got time and hope and dreams enough
So don't you hurry love
Chorus:
Oh baby babe don't go too fast
Feel the rhythm of my heart
Don't you go for everything
I'm not a puppet on a string
Baby babe don't go too fast
Play it cool and make it last
Baby let your feelings flow
Just take it easy - get it slow
Love can be so beautiful
Feel the rhythm of my heart
Verse 2:
It's a "now or never-night"
Baby don't you try to break my pride
I've got magic words:
Together forever
Take away the spell of darkness
Baby come into my world of fears
To kiss away my tears
Chorus:
Oh baby babe don't go too fast
Feel the rhythm of my heart
Don't you go for everything
I'm not a puppet on a string
Baby babe don't go too fast
Play it cool and make it last
Baby let your feelings flow
Just take it easy - get it slow
Love can be so beautiful
Feel the rhythm of my heart
Bridge:
Take a chance on me tonight
Baby look inside of me - you'll see
The flames of destiny
Chorus:
Oh baby babe don't go too fast
Feel the rhythm of my heart
Don't you go for everything
I'm not a puppet on a string
Baby babe don't go too fast
Play it cool and make it last
Baby let your feelings flow
Just take it easy - get it slow
Love can be so beautiful
Feel the rhythm of my heart
Baby babe don't go too fast
Feel the rhythm of my heart
yeah yeah oh oh
Love can be so beautiful
Feel the rhythm of my heart

The Life Of Mary O’Henry & Simon Le Frankie

Is life chance, or pre-ordained
Is life chance, or pre-ordained

Mary O’Henry,
Was born in a time when the world was at war
Nobody saw
Grew up an orphan
Struggling through life never knowing there’s more
Than being wretchedly poor

Oh life can hold so much pain
You wonder why it should be so
There but for the grace of God, walks another
In sullen steps that could have been you

Is life chance, or pre-ordained
(The life of Mary O’Henry & Simon Le Frankie)
Is life chance, or pre-ordained
(The life of Mary O’Henry & Simon Le Frankie)

Simon Le Frankie,
was born with a headline in the Times
a paradigm
he grew up wealthy
living his life to the full, life can be so good, I guess as it should

Oh life can be endless champagne
You wonder why it should be so
There but for the grace of God walks another
In graceful steps that could have been you

Is life chance, or pre-ordained
(The life of Mary O’Henry & Simon Le Frankie)
Is life chance, or pre-ordained
(The life of Mary O’Henry & Simon Le Frankie)

Mary O’Henry - Grew into a woman, working wherever she could
In places no woman should, luckless in Hollywood
Simon Le Frankie – wondered the world on a wave that trebled in size
Until he died – they died the same time

Atlas in turmoil
Life is choices made in a game
Who moves the pieces
Is life chance or pre-ordained

Is life chance, or pre-ordained
(The life of Mary O’Henry & Simon Le Frankie)
Is life chance, or pre-ordained
(The life of Mary O’Henry & Simon Le Frankie)

Butterfly

A caterpillar had the feeling

That change was coming

That time was stealing.

To embrace the metamorphosis

It wove a cocoon around its chest

And choose our wall to take its rest.

The young are thoughtless, often cruel

And I was no exception.

I would have destroyed it but

for Frankie’s intervention.

Frankie lived in the corner house

He was older and quite wise.

He taught me that this green cocoon

would change into a butterfly.

He bade me watch, he had me wait

to see the wonder taking shape.

We saw the Monarch first take wing

once caterpillar, now a King.

Several summers passed us by.

I still lived but Frankie died-

He was just eighteen, Young and brave

A landmine put him in his grave.

He died just before Saigon’s fall

His name’s inscribed upon the Wall

Corporal Frank Evangelista Junior,

beloved by mother and mourned by sister.

A terrible loss when Frankie died-

He might have been a butterfly.

(The incident with the Butterfly happened in 1960. Lance Corporal Frank Paul Evangelista jr.USMC died during the Vietnam war when a landmine blew up his jeep. I recall he died in March of 1969, but I altered the time lines slightly(using my poetic license) .. Had he emerged from the experience of war, he may have proved to be a great man.)

Frankie & Johnny

(words & music by gottlieb - karger - weisman)
Frankie and me we were lovers
Oh lordy how we could love
Swore wed be true to each other
Just as true as stars above
I was her man, she caught me doing her wrong.
My luck in poker was fading
When a new gal caught my eye
I gambled, I tried to change my luck
With a chick named nellie bly
I was frankies man but I was doing her wrong.
Yeah! frankie came looking to find me
Yes, she wasnt looking for fun
For in her sweet loving hand
She was totin a 44 gun
To shoot her man if he was doin her wrong
Well frankie walked into the bar room
And right there in front of her eyes
There was her loving johnny
Making love to that nellie bly
I was her man, she caught me doing her wrong.
Frankie, I beg, please dont shoot me
Well theyll put you away in a cell
You know theyll put your where the cold wind blows
From the hottest corner in hell
Im your man, I know I done you wrong.
Easy on the roll, real easy
Easy on the roll, real slow
Roll me over real gently
cause my wound hurts me so
Well I was her man
Well I done her wrong
Well frankie told johnny
Well this is the end of my song
I was her man, well I done her wrong
Well , hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Done her wrong

Stay With Me

[chorus:]
I want you right here with me
If you really wanna be with me
Then come on, just stay with me
Cuz I really wanna get to know you
Oh, I want you right here with me
If you really wanna be with me
Then come on and stay with me
Come on and stay with me
Look at me girl, I cant believe
This feeling is more than a crush on you
And I can tell by the way you smile
You feel the same and were both more than friends
If you want it then baby tell me so
Why dont you tell me, baby
Candle fade, of love gotta let it show
Why dont you let your feelings show
Itll be our little secret no one has to know
We can keep it on the down low, baby
We can take it fast, or do you like it nice and slow
I need you by my side
[chorus]
Can you tell in my eyes
The happiness when you are in my heart
The joy you bring makes me wanna sing
I love you and you mean the world to me
If you want it then baby tell me so
Why dont you tell me, baby
Candle fade, of love gotta let it show
Why dont you let your feelings show
Itll be our little secret no one has to know
We can keep it on the down low, baby
We can take it fast, or do you like it nice and slow
I need you by my side
[chorus 2x]
Its not hard girl, to tell that im
So in love with you, baby
And I know you feel what I feel cuz when
Were together it feels so right
So stay with me
[repeat chorus until fade]

Do You Have It In Your Heart?

Verse1:
Baby all the songs
On the radio
Seems theyre playin too fast
Or theyre playin too slow
Nothin seems right
Since you walked out of my life
Loves a lost feeling
That cuts just like a knife in my heart
Darlin emptiness surrounds me now
And chains are all around me tonight
And Im bound to your love
But when push comes to shove
It seems just like an endless fight
So tell me...
Chorus:
Do you have it in your heart?
To give another try before we say goodbye to love
So that we can try again baby
Do you have it in your heart?
Am I losin my mind?
Maybe I was too blind to see
That our love could ever end
But baby if you have it in your heart
You will never part from me
Verse2:
Just the other night
At the movie show
I saw you from a distance
But you didnt know
Though time has passed,
I can still read your face
I could tell that girl,
She made you feel so out of place
Boy I know...
Though we said goodbye forever I know
We could never let our dreams die
cause Im looking around
I dont like what I found
Boy wont you look me in the eye
And tell me...
Chorus
Bridge:
Lets put our pride aside
And try to be strong
So we can put the pieces back
Where they belong
Baby Im losin sleep
And Ill be losin much more
If you dont walk back
Through my hearts door

The Ballad Of Frankie Lee And Judas Priest

by Bob Dylan
Well, Frankie Lee and Judas Priest,
They were the best of friends.
So when Frankie Lee needed money one day,
Judas quickly pulled out a roll of tens
And placed them on a footstool
Just above the plotted plain,
Sayin', "Take your pick, Frankie Boy,
My loss will be your gain."
Well, Frankie Lee, he sat right down
And put his fingers to his chin,
But with the cold eyes of Judas on him,
His head began to spin.
"Would ya please not stare at me like that," he said,
"It's just my foolish pride,
But sometimes a man must be alone
And this is no place to hide."
Well, Judas, he just winked and said,
"All right, I'll leave you here,
But you'd better hurry up and choose
Which of those bills you want,
Before they all disappear."
"I'm gonna start my pickin' right now,
Just tell me where you'll be."
Judas pointed down the road
And said, "Eternity!"
"Eternity?" said Frankie Lee,
With a voice as cold as ice.
"That's right," said Judas Priest, "Eternity,
Though you might call it 'Paradise.'"
"I don't call it anything,"
Said Frankie Lee with a smile.
"All right," said Judas Priest,
"I'll see you after a while."
Well, Frankie Lee, he sat back down,
Feelin' low and mean,
When just then a passing stranger
Burst upon the scene,
Saying, "Are you Frankie Lee, the gambler,
Whose father is deceased?
Well, if you are,
There's a fellow callin' you down the road
And they say his name is Priest."
"Oh, yes, he is my friend,"
Said Frankie Lee in fright,
"I do recall him very well,
In fact, he just left my sight."
"Yes, that's the one," said the stranger,
As quiet as a mouse,
"Well, my message is, he's down the road,
Stranded in a house."
Well, Frankie Lee, he panicked,
He dropped ev'rything and ran
Until he came up to the spot
Where Judas Priest did stand.
"What kind of house is this," he said,
"Where I have come to roam?"
"It's not a house," said Judas Priest,
"It's not a house . . . it's a home."
Well, Frankie Lee, he trembled,
He soon lost all control
Over ev'rything which he had made
While the mission bells did toll.
He just stood there staring
At that big house as bright as any sun,
With four and twenty windows
And a woman's face in ev'ry one.
Well, up the stairs ran Frankie Lee
With a soulful, bounding leap,
And, foaming at the mouth,
He began to make his midnight creep.
For sixteen nights and days he raved,
But on the seventeenth he burst
Into the arms of Judas Priest,
Which is where he died of thirst.
No one tried to say a thing
When they took him out in jest,
Except, of course, the little neighbor boy
Who carried him to rest.
And he just walked along, alone,
With his guilt so well concealed,
And muttered underneath his breath,
"Nothing is revealed."
Well, the moral of the story,
The moral of this song,
Is simply that one should never be
Where one does not belong.
So when you see your neighbor carryin' somethin',
Help him with his load,
And don't go mistaking Paradise
For that home across the road.

Magic Ride (Whatever U Wish 4)

[Chorus:]
Come on let me take you on a magic ride
Boy I wanna show you better ways to fly
Whatever you wish for
I'll do it for you
All the other girls are a waste of time
Whatever they may have ain't as good as mine
Whatever you wish for
I'll do it for you

[Verse 1:]
I can light a fuse in you
Make you finally see all the things you need
If you wanna know the truth then you must believe
It's hidden here in me
When you finally cross the line
I know that you'll be mine
Boy you make our dreams come true
You know you only have to let go
That I can begin to show
What I've got for you
Come on

[Chorus]

[Verse 2:]
I can see it in your eyes
You've got the spark I need t o set my spirit free
And we don't even have to try time is on our side
And we can be complete
When you finally cross the line
I know that you'll be mine
Boy you make our dreams come true
You know you only have to let go
That I can begin to show
What I've got for you

[Chorus]

My boy TQ

[Rap part TQ]

[Chorus]

The Ballad Of Frankie Lee & Judas Priest

Well, frankie lee and judas priest,
They were the best of friends.
So when frankie lee needed money one day,
Judas quickly pulled out a roll of tens
And placed them on a footstool
Just above the plotted plain,
Sayin, take your pick, frankie boy,
My loss will be your gain.
Well, frankie lee, he sat right down
And put his fingers to his chin,
But with the cold eyes of judas on him,
His head began to spin.
Would ya please not stare at me like that, he said,
Its just my foolish pride,
But sometimes a man must be alone
And this is no place to hide.
Well, judas, he just winked and said,
All right, Ill leave you here,
But youd better hurry up and choose
Which of those bills you want,
Before they all disappear.
Im gonna start my pickin right now,
Just tell me where youll be.
Judas pointed down the road
And said, eternity!
Eternity? said frankie lee,
With a voice as cold as ice.
Thats right, said judas priest, eternity,
Though you might call it paradise.
I dont call it anything,
Said frankie lee with a smile.
All right, said judas priest,
Ill see you after a while.
Well, frankie lee, he sat back down,
Feelin low and mean,
When just then a passing stranger
Burst upon the scene,
Saying, are you frankie lee, the gambler,
Whose father is deceased?
Well, if you are,
Theres a fellow callin you down the road
And they say his name is priest.
Oh, yes, he is my friend,
Said frankie lee in fright,
I do recall him very well,
In fact, he just left my sight.
Yes, thats the one, said the stranger,
As quiet as a mouse,
Well, my message is, hes down the road,
Stranded in a house.
Well, frankie lee, he panicked,
He dropped evrything and ran
Until he came up to the spot
Where judas priest did stand.
What kind of house is this, he said,
Where I have come to roam?
Its not a house, said judas priest,
Its not a house . . . its a home.
Well, frankie lee, he trembled,
He soon lost all control
Over evrything which he had made
While the mission bells did toll.
He just stood there staring
At that big house as bright as any sun,
With four and twenty windows
And a womans face in evry one.

Show Me (Cherry Baby)

Show me, show me
Show me how
Show me, show me
Show me how
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry
I found you wanting
Like everyone
Always trying
Happy lying
cos Im no stranger
To the ways of the world
I felt like crying
I felt like dying
We took a coffee
You took it so strong
Shaded from the neon
I could still see your eyes
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Found in the gutter
With a knife in her back
Letter said sorry
Please dont worry
She had a lover
With danger in his eyes
I tried to tell her
But she had the wildest heart
Show me, show me
Show me how
Show me, show me
Show me how
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Oh cherry baby
Oh cherry
Show me, show me
Show me how
Show me, show me
Show me how
Show me, show me
Show me how
Show me, show me
Show me how
