In the spirit of Rumi - 50 - One Thing
Oh the pleasure, the happiness,
the delight, the joy, the bliss,
of doing just one thing above all!
When I was a child, I did many things;
that’s right for children – there’s the world,
go play in it; ask, what’s a horizon? but what
lies beyond? and why can’t I see angels
if angels can see me? …
When I was a young man, I did many things;
that’s right for young men – which one will I love?
which one will love me? And when we’ve together found our love,
oh what then? and oh what then?
But now I’m older, there seems less time
for many things; they will look after themselves
without my help… so, what delight
to give oneself to just one thing…
one thing at a time; and then
one thing…
and it seems, it doesn’t matter what;
roses need an expert to collaborate
in dreaming up new beauty from an older stock;
dogs need exercise, and a two-legs to look up to;
grandchildren are born to love grandparents
in a special way..
and, duties done, and hearts served well,
one thing…it might be poetry,
in which to say, look, all this
I’ve received: here’s recognition,
acknowledgement, and gratitude…
and the other things, like sleeping, eating,
become day by day like living in someone else’s poem;
someone else committed to one thing…
and then one day, perhaps,
life’s curtain twitches; and some great being
looks in the window, the very moment you look out;
and ‘one thing’, in the most natural way,
becomes…

Sonnet: Love Rules the World
Love is the thing by which God made our earth;
Love is the thing that saves us from dangers;
Love is the thing by which God gave man, breath;
Love is the thing that binds neighbors, strangers.
Love is the thing that creatures on earth seek;
Love is the thing we expect in friendship;
Love is the thing that rules man's heart, mind meek;
Love is the thing that thrills hearts in courtship.
Love is the thing that binds a family;
Love is the thing a teacher gives pupils;
Love is the thing we ought to give fully;
Love is the thing that every man's heart fills.
Love is the thing that gives meaning to life;
Love is the thing that binds man, God in strife.

Get On The Right Thing
All at once you get love on your mind
And your world is as kind as a penny
Oh.... and you knew it all along / you did the right thing
Believe me its true / and it can happen to you
All at once you get sound in your ears
And your cloud disappears into yellow
Well you know they were were wrong
Get on the right thing / well you knew it all along
Get on the right thing
Believe me its so / because I happen to know
Try a little love, you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing (repeat twice)
My little love you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing / get on the right thing
Get on tee right thing do / get on the right thing you
All at once we see things in our skies
And we both realize it together
Well you know they were wrong
Get on the right thing / yes you knew it all along
Get on the right thing / believe me its so
Because I happen to know / you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing, get on the right thing,
Get on the right thing / you cant go wrong get on the right thing
And try a little love / and it cant go wrong
Get on the right thing you etc.
Try a little love, you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing etc.

Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
She is waiting
In the office
For the bell to go
She is thinking
Of their meeting
Just a month ago
Now shes running
Through the people
Everyone so slow
Now he holds her
And he loves her
He tells her so and
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
By the nightfall
They have driven
From the world they know
Shes so happy
Theyre together
And their love will grow
And when you feel your chance has come
Whos going to throw it all away
And if theres someone left behind
You have to say that
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love

Every Little Thing
When Im walking beside her,
People tell me Im lucky
Yes I know Im a lucky guy
I remember the first time
I was lonely without her
Cant stop thinking about her now
Every little thing she does
She does for me
And you know the things she does
She does for me
When Im with her Im happy
Just to know that she loves me
Yes I know that she loves me now
There is one thing Im sure of
I will love her forever
cause I know love will never die
Every little thing she does
She does for me
And you know the things she does
She does for me
Every little thing she does
She does for me
And you know the things she does
She does for me
When Im with her Im happy
Just to know that she loves me
Yes I know that she loves me now
There is one thing Im sure of
I will love her forever

Nothing In Heaven
Nothing
I mean not a Thing
Literally
No Things
Can You Imagine
That lack
Of Things?
Everything on the Earth
Stays on the Earth
Or under earth
If that be your preference
But nothing
Not one thing
Gets packed
No Things in Heaven
Let me say it
One more time
Not
One
Thing
Only you
And the memory
Of everyone
You ever loved
And every moment
Lived, but not
Lived for the love
Of Things
Can you dig that kind of Thing?

It's A Love Thing
Yeah, yeah
Ooh it's a love thing
I been working all day long
And I'm ready to come on home to you
All the other guys roll their eyes
And don't realize it's what I want to do
It's what I want to do
They say I'm wrapped around your finger
But they don't understand
That what we got is more than just a diamond
On your hand
Baby it's a love thing, whoa
Baby it's a love thing, yeah
Sure I could hang around and complain about
The way things ought to be
Yeah there's trouble in the world
But you're the girl
Whose open arms are all I really need
And that's why I come runnin'
To be there by your side
To let 'em call me crazy
But it can't be denied
Baby it's a love thing, whoa
Baby it's a love thing, yeah
And it's not about the same last name
It's not a thing that can be explained
It's how you make me feel inside
And the way you hold me everynight
It's a love thing, whoa
Oh baby, it's a love thing, yeah
He we go now
It's a love thing
They say I'm wrapped around your finger
But they don't understand
That what we got is more than just a diamond
On your hand
Baby it's a love thing, whoa
Oh baby it's a love thing, yeah
Come on it's a love thing, whoa
Oh baby, It's a love thing, yeah
Oh, it's a love thing, whoa
Oh sugar, it's a love thing
No it ain't about no diamond ring
It's a love thing, whoa
Oh baby it's a love thing, yeah
It's a love, it's a love, it's a love thing

The matter of a thing
You are a spiritual thing,
You are a living thing,
You are a breathing thing,
You are a amazing thing,
You are a vivacious thing,
and you can arise above anything,
because you were created by the King of Kings,
to do wonderful and kingly things.
Therefore each day, as you look into
the mirror, allow your eyes to behold you.
Also be ever mindful, and make a mental note of
the true, authentic you.
The matter of a great thing.

Gimme That Thing Called Love
(myles goodwyn)
Published by northern goody two tunes, ltd./capac - ascap
You take my breath away, its not the things you do
But the way you do it, I knew it was gonna work out this way
Its beyond the point of pleasure, to the point of no return
I should know better, whatever, I guess Im gonna live and learn
Gimme that thing called love, show me a thing about love
Gimme that thing called love, show me a thing about love
Reach out and touch me girl, I wanna tell you that its right this time, this time
Its such a sweet surrender, I feel myself going under your spell, oh well
Right or wrong, baby go on, just have your way with me
I dont scare that easily, whatever you want, please go on
Whatever it takes, take it out on me, come on
Gimme that thing called love, show me a thing about love
Gimme that thing called love, show me a thing about love
Hold on, look my way, Im turned on by the things you say
I wont forget about the night we had
I wont be sorry for the things Ive said, this time
Reach out and touch me girl, I wont be sorry for the things Ive said
Its satisfaction guaranteed, I wont pretend itll always be this way
But at least Im gonna have my day
Beyond this point of pleasure, to the point of no return
I should know better, whatever, I guess Im gonna live and learn
Gimme that thing called love, show me a thing about love
Gimme that thing called love, show me a thing about love
Reach out and touch me girl, reach out and hold me girl
I wont forget about the nights weve had
I wont be sorry for the things Ive said, this time

Sweet Thing
Its safe in the city, to love in a doorway
To wrangle some screens from the door
And isnt it me, putting pain in a stranger?
Like a portrait in flesh, who trails on a leash
Will you see that Im scared and Im lonely?
So Ill break up my room, and yawn and i
Run to the centre of things
Where the knowing one says
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing, sweet thing
If you want it, boys, get it here, thing
cause hope, boys, is a cheap thing, cheap thing
Im glad that youre older than me
Makes me feel important and free
Does that make you smile, isnt that me?
Im in your way, and Ill steal every moment
If his trade is a curse, then Ill bless you
And turn to the crossroads, and hamburgers, and
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing, sweet thing
If you want it, boys, get it here, thing
cause hope, boys, is a cheap thing, cheap thing

Hot Thing
Hot thing!
Hot thing, barely 21
Hot thing, looking 4 big fun
Hot thing, whats your fantasy?
Do u wanna play with me?
Hot thing, baby u dance so good
Hot thing, baby I knew u would
Hot thing, tell me what u see
Hot thing, when u smile, when u smile, when u smile
Are your smiles, are your smiles 4 me?
Hot thing, maybe u should give your folks a call
Hot thing, tell them youre going 2 the crystal ball
Hot thing, tell them youre coming home late,
If youre coming home at all
Hot thing, tell them u found a brand new baby doll
Hot thing, I cant wait 2 get u home
Hot thing, where we could be alone
Hot thing, I could read u poetry,
And then we could make a story of our own
Hot thing
Hot, hot, hot thing
Hot thing, hot thing
Hot thing, hot thing
Hot thing, barely 21
Hot thing, looking 4 big fun
Hot thing, whats your fantasy
Hot thing, dont u wanna play with me?

Pretty Thing
Think about the good things
Think about the bad things
Think about a reason to see you tonight
Something getting hard when you rock it up
Something getting hot when you rock it up
Pretty little girl let your sweet thing sway
Never gonna treat you wrong
Tie you down pretend youre madonna
Never gonna treat you wrong
Oh you pretty thing
Shake your pretty thing
Gimmee that pretty thing
Think about the love thing
Think about the sex thing
Think about you holding me, taking me down
Something getting hard when you rock it up
Something getting hot when you rock it up
Pretty little girl let your sweet thing sway
Never gonna do you wrong
Strip you down and take you to pieces
Always gonna love this song
Oh you pretty thing
Feel that pretty thing
Suck that pretty thing
Pretty pretty pretty girl
La la la la la la la
Hey hey
Gimmie love
Pretty girl
Oh you pretty thing
Shake that pretty thing
Give me that pretty thing
Oh pretty thing
Give me that pretty thing
Shake that pretty thing
Give me that pretty thing
Oh you pretty thing
Shake that pretty thing
Heal that pretty thing

The Same Thing
Here is my case
We've got no time to waste
Cuz we want the same thing
We're fighting a war
But we don't know what for
Cuz we want the same thing
I know we're different now
Different as night and day
But still want you near
I just want you to stay
I wanna take this chance
I want to be with you
Cuz what you're looking for
I am looking for too
We dream the same thing
We want the same thing ...ooh...
And all that we need is to
See it together
We dream the same dream
We want the same thing ...ooh...
For now, for love, forever, amen
I look in your eyes and
I know deep inside that
We want the same thing
Breaking the chains that
Just keep us in shame
Cuz we want the same thing
No matter what we say
No matter what we do
Beyond the battlelines
Baby we know what's true
We dream the same thing
We want the same thing ...ooh...
And all that we need is to
See it together
We dream the same dream
We want the same thing ...ooh...

I Love Every Little Thing About You
Though they say youre not my friend
Youve been here through thick and thin
And for that little girl I love ya
And all I want to do is talk about ya.
Im here to say
I love you more each day
And I just want to tell the world
That I love you so.
Though they put me down because
I love you as much as I do
But they dont know what youve done for me
Youve made such a happy man out of me.
And Im here to say
Love you everyday, yea
And I just want to tell the world
That I love you so.
Baby, I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing
About you baby
Oh yea, I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing
About you baby, mmm yea
Though they say that I am wrong
Cause my love is strong
Theres only one that I place above you.
Its God that I place above you.
Girl I just want to say
Love you more each day, yea
I just want to tell the world
That I love you so, yea.
Some folks say that its strange
But my whole life you have changed
Youve saved all the pain the worlds put on me
All I want to do is talk about you and Im here to say
Love you everyday, yea yea
Telling everybody that,
I love you so, yea yea
I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing about you baby, yea yea yea
I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing about you baby.
Oh yea, I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing about you baby.
You know I love, I love ever lit thing, about you babe,
I love it
I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing about you baby.
I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing about you baby.
-every damn thing about you baby
I love, I love, I love, I love every little thing about you baby. oo
Ooh, mmm, sugar, all right, cookie, puddin, oh yea

Would You Like to Participate With Us
Would you like to participate with us,
During our global meditation?
Many of us are striving for a higher consciousness!
And we are going to do this the first of the year.
At 12noon!
'Excuse me?
A higher what?
Consciousness.
Oh, I'm conscious all right.
Ain't nuthin' wrong with my mind!
Naw...
Ya'll go 'head with that mess!
Since...
That's yo thing not my thing and my thing ain't yo thing.
And you and them that do those things think ya'll all that!
Well..
My feet is on the Earth,
And I ain't got time to waste on nonsense!
I ain't 'bout to raise 'nuthin' no time soon!
I ain't got time to waste on that! '
So, that is a no?
'That's yo thing not my thing and my thing ain't yo thing.
And you and them that do those things think ya'll all that!
You better come down to Earth and be real! '

Hard To Reveal
Ryan
You see in my eyes a reflection
That I wanna give you affection
My eyes don't lie
They show you my deepest emotion
When we make love in slow motion
My eyes don't lie
All the things you see are previews of you and me
My eyes don't lie a thing
My eyes don't lie a thing
All the things I see are secrets you share with me
My eyes don't hide a thing
My eyes don't hide a thing
Chorus
It's hard to reveal
There's something about you
We're two halves of a whole
You're my heart - You're my soul
x2
No need to search for devotion
My body will give you the notion
My eyes don't lie
Swept by the deepest temptation
I'll show you my imagination
My eyes don't lie
All the things you see are previews of you and me
My eyes don't lie a thing
My eyes don't lie a thing
All the things you see are secrets you share with me
My eyes don't hide a thing
Your eyes don't hide a thing
Chorus x2
