Is this just to say
'Shall I be gone long?
Forever and a day.
Where will I go?
Ask my song.'
The sweet cold plums
in the ice-box
were no compensation
for the note attached there
by the adulterer.

A Value Attached to Match a Compensation
My total being is within.
Not without as you may suspect.
You may believe I should reflect worth.
With a value attached to match a compensation.
My total being is within.
Not without as you may suspect.
You may believe I should reflect worth.
With a value attached to match a compensation.
I am compensated.
But beyond a value you would never be able to designate.
My total being is within not without as you may suspect.
With a value attached to match a compensation.
Even I am unaware of the depth of my treasures.
As long as I know they are there...
My concerns I keep at a minimum.

0265 This is just to say
William,
that I'm glad that you
enjoyed the plums
which I was saving
for breakfast
I'm saving the note
you tacked on the
icebox door
for the divorce
I'm suing for
to show how selfish
you are
and later I'll publish it
to show just how offhand
a poet can be
revenge is
best enjoyed
at leisure
sweet and delicious
as cold plums

(Love&Death Poem) A (I Love You) Final Resting Place
Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
It can't end this way
Just listen to me
You will make it
You will live on
With you the kids are growing so strong
Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
No its not okay
You must fight
With all you strength
Think of those you love
Think of those who depend on you the most
Anything to keep you going
You are the one I love.
You the one that I just cant let go.
No matter how hard I try
I looked into her eyes and she died
I never got to say my final goodbye
A (I love you) final resting place
Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
In your eyes i see the beautiful sparkle of the of the snow
Just live on.
This is just so wrong.
My heart is already gone
It has jumped out my body and committed suicide
Just beat the hell out of my insides
Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
Sir but you have to the paramedic says
I'm sorry shes already gone
How could this happen?
Why me?
I thought we were destine to be.
A long lived family.
This will never be satisfactory.
I'll love her till the day I die.

Cutie Pie
CUTIE PIE
Cup cakes and cotton candy
Sugar plums and honey buns
Sweet potatoes and candy yams
taste so good,
on my tongue
The scent of sweet cinnamon sprinkles on an apple crumb pie
cuts through my senses
bringing tears to my eyes.
Just like when I image your face, sweet father of mine.
It creates a space in my heart
filled with the sweet cherished love you have for me.
I’ve never wanted to be nothing more than you sweet baby
so blessed that you’re all mine and I forever your little lady.
Let me forever be that apple in your eye
To have and to hold….wearing your love draped around me like a coat.
It will forever keep my heart safe and warm from the cold.
There’s nothing more precious than a daughters love for her daddy.
You’re the first to call me a cutie pie…which I never knew I was cute until you.
So whenever I look at my imagine in the mirror I get a sweet tooth.
When I look in the mirror I see you.
My brown cinnamon skin is like a pastry treat.
Cup cakes and cotton candy
Sugar plums and honey buns
Sweet potatoes and candy yams
taste so good,
to have them
I’d break a limb
The scent of sweet cinnamon sprinkles on an apple crumb pie.
cuts through my senses
bringing tears to my eyes.
I shall forever and always be your cutie pie.

The songster
Music, music with throb and swing,
Of a plaintive note, and long;
'Tis a note no human throat could sing,
No harp with its dulcet golden string,--
Nor lute, nor lyre with liquid ring,
Is sweet as the robin's song.
He sings for love of the season
When the days grow warm and long,
For the beautiful God-sent reason
That his breast was born for song.
Calling, calling so fresh and clear,
Through the song-sweet days of May;
Warbling there, and whistling here,
He swells his voice on the drinking ear,
On the great, wide, pulsing atmosphere
Till his music drowns the day.
He sings for love of the season
When the days grow warm and long,
For the beautiful God-sent reason
That his breast was born for song.

Java Plums
those java plums
are sweet
and round and glossy
and by all means
attractive to the
palate
i am very thirsty
and you leave it on my
table and you
expect me to be just like them all
eat the plums without you
i have forgiven you
i am not eating them

Remembered
She sang, and I listened the whole song thro'.
(It was sweet, so sweet, the singing.)
The stars were out and the moon it grew
From a wee soft glimmer way out in the blue
To a bird thro' the heavens winging.
She sang, and the song trembled down to my breast,--
(It was sweet, so sweet the singing.)
As a dove just out of its fledgling nest,
And, putting its wings to the first sweet test,
Flutters homeward so wearily winging.
She sang and I said to my heart 'That song,
That was sweet, so sweet i' the singing,
Shall live with us and inspire us long,
And thou, my heart, shalt be brave and strong
For the sake of those words a-winging.'
The woman died and the song was still.
(It was sweet, so sweet, the singing.)
But ever I hear the same low trill,
Of the song that shakes my heart with a thrill,
And goes forever winging.

This Is Just To Say
I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast
Forgive me
they were delicious

Let Me Compose Myself
let me compose myself
like a symphony
note tumbling upon note until
they are chasing each other
down the staff
and through the measures until
i have composed an opus
a song calm as the thrust
of the ocean upon sand
so i can turn
and have a song to play
trembling fingers on the violin
dragging from the strings
song and sound
a composition, a calmness
the thought of my body
in your arms
when you cradled all of me
and carried me home
and the song i have sounds
the way the air smells like winter
in the morning
around november when
the wind carries a bite
and the bite is its warning:
'Get out while you can
the winter is harsh
your skin will be chapped and red
and the cold will kill the crops
your stomachs will rumble
like the roll of a drum
your winter hunger will expand
beyond the need of food
your cold fingers will
long for the warm press of summer'
as they press the strings against
the fingerboard
pulling the silence from the air
and funneling it down my throat:
i am quiet;
you are bringing forth into
my wordlessness the reality of sound
you are replacing the silence
with song
a composition i remember
as my own

You can stay in perfect bliss, if you so choose
It is all fine here
I do not see anything
Nor do I hear anything
No hunger
No sleep
Ever wakeful
All of us here
Do not wish or long for anything
Things are fine around
And we are in great comfort
The dull light available
Is good enough to make out
What is happening
How come everything,
Everything means everything
Including me and mines, near or far
Has become totally insignifcant
We have nothing to worry about
We have nothing to plan or act
We just keep moving here and there
In the thin air
Only thing we do to each other is to smile at each other
Regardless of the other taking note of it or not
Once a while we understand
That someone has left
For taking shape
And once again that someone
Will hear, see, cry and laugh
Travel to this world was smooth
Staying here is wonderful
I do not know how long will I be here
As I will also go to a shape anytime
Is what my understanding says
All of you will one day or the other come here
And that time you will recall
What all I said above
I will not invite you here
As you feel you are safe there
I will not say you will also be in comfort
As many of us feel
All depends on how much
Attached are you with things around you
The more attached there
The more difficulties here
But, note, your coming here
Is definite and inevitable
But no one knows
When, how and why
Nevertheless, do not be afraid of this world
It is wonderful, painless
You can stay in perfect bliss
If you so choose
From a just departed soul

Our Sweet Love
I thought about a summer day
And how the time just floats away
Pretty things like incense and flowers
I wanna make them part of
Our sweet love
Could last forever
(our sweet love)
Our sweet love
Could last forever
I thought about a winter night
And how Id like to hold you tight
Candlelight the warmth of a fire
We could make them part of
Our sweet love
Honey its heaven
(our sweet love)
Our sweet love
Could last forever
Sweet love sweet love
Like a child with his new toy
My heart is filled with joy for
Our sweet love
Honey its heaven
(our sweet love)
Our sweet love
Lord knows I love her so
I feel it down inside my soul
A precious love like this can flower
Theres nothing in this world like
Our sweet love
Should last forever
(our sweet love)
Our sweet love
Could last forever
Our sweet love
Could last forever
Our sweet love
Could last forever
(our sweet love)

The Sugar-Plums
No, no, pretty sugar-plums! stay where you are!
Though my grandmother sent you to me from so far;
You look very nice, you would taste very sweet,
And I love you right well, yet not one will I eat.
For the poor slaves have labour'd, far down in the south,
To make you so sweet and so nice for my mouth;
But I want no slaves toiling for me in the sun,
Driven on with the whip, till the long day is done.
Perhaps some poor slave child, that hoed up the ground,
Round the cane in whose rich juice your sweetness was found,
Was flogg'd, till his mother cried sadly to see,
And I'm sure I want nobody beaten for me.
So grandma, I thank you for being so kind,
But your present, to-day, is not much to my mind;
Though I love you so dearly, I choose not to eat
Even what you have sent me by slavery made sweet.
Thus said little Fanny, and skipp'd off to play,
Leaving all her nice sugar-plums just where they lay,
As merry as if they had gone in her mouth,
And she had not cared for the slaves of the south.

Note To Self: Don't Die
I'm as blue
I'm as blue as the ocean is true, it's just refelctions of the sky
I'm as cold
I'm as cold as the stories you told but never sick enough to die
Note to self: don't change for anyone
Note to self: don't die
Note to self: don't change for anyone
Don't change, just lie
I'm as sick
I'm as crass as the things in your past, you wished that you could let them go
Caged birds
Caged animals starving for class
In your house when you're alone
Note to self: don't change for anyone
Note to self: don't die
Note to self: don't change for anyone
Don't change, just lie
Who do you call when you're alone
Nobody, baby
Who do you want to be, figure out and just let me know
Don't change, don't change, don't change
Just let me go
Just let me go
Just let me go

Life Is A Long Song
When youre falling awake and you take stock of the new day,
And you hear your voice croak as you choke on what you need to say,
Well, dont you fret, dont you fear,
I will give you good cheer.
Lifes a long song.
Lifes a long song.
Lifes a long song.
If you wait then your plate I will fill.
As the verses unfold and your soul suffers the long day,
And the twelve oclock gloom spins the room,
You struggle on your way.
Well, dont you sigh, dont you cry,
Lick the dust from your eye.
Lifes a long song.
Lifes a long song.
Lifes a long song.
We will meet in the sweet light of dawn.
As the baker street train spills your pain all over your new dress,
And the symphony sounds underground put you under duress,
Well dont you squeal as the heel grinds you under the wheel.
Lifes a long song.
Lifes a long song.
Lifes a long song.
But the tune ends too soon for us all.

Joy and Pleasure
Now, joy is born of parents poor,
And pleasure of our richer kind;
Though pleasure's free, she cannot sing
As sweet a song as joy confined.
Pleasure's a Moth, that sleeps by day
And dances by false glare at night;
But Joy's a Butterfly, that loves
To spread its wings in Nature's light.
Joy's like a Bee that gently sucks
Away on blossoms its sweet hour;
But pleasure's like a greedy Wasp,
That plums and cherries would devour.
Joy's like a Lark that lives alone,
Whose ties are very strong, though few;
But Pleasure like a Cuckoo roams,
Makes much acquaintance, no friends true.
Joy from her heart doth sing at home,
With little care if others hear;
But pleasure then is cold and dumb,
And sings and laughs with strangers near.

Drifting Along
Nowhere to go
But I'll still be cruising
I live this life long
Long long time
You know I'm drifting along (drifting along)
Can't see where I am going
I will get to my destination
I'm feeling the pressure (pressure)
All around me crumble (man now)
But I won't be put down this time
I'm shifting along
Though I sing a sweet song (sweet song)
We'll murder in the streets where I be livin'
I'm closing my eyes (closing my eyes)
Don't want to see killin'
Gentle giants will roam forever
I'm cruising the street
Wondering who I will meet
Oh love has got to reign in our world
La la la la
La la la la la la
I don't know where I am going to (I don't know where I am going to)
La la la la
La la la la la la
I don't know where I am going to
Drifting along
Drifting along
Closing up my ears to the sound
I don't want to hear

The humming top
The top it hummeth a sweet, sweet song
To my dear little boy at play -
Merrily singeth all day long,
As it spinneth and spinneth away.
And my dear little boy
He laugheth with joy
When he heareth the monotone
Of that busy thing
That loveth to sing
The song that is all its own.
Hold fast the string and wind it tight,
That the song be loud and clear;
Now hurl the top with all your might
Upon the banquette here;
And straight from the string
The joyous thing
Boundeth and spinneth along,
And it whirrs and it chirrs
And it birrs and it purrs
Ever its pretty song.
Will ever my dear little boy grow old,
As some have grown before?
Will ever his heart feel faint and cold,
When he heareth the songs of yore?
Will ever this toy
Of my dear little boy,
When the years have worn away,
Sing sad and low
Of the long ago,
As it singeth to me to-day?

Let Me Enjoy The Moment
let me enjoy
the moment
with you
let it be
brief and yet
so memorable
and then let
each sweet note
go into the air
into smoke
and sparkle
inside a glass
and then
to an empty space
so much like
a very sweet, sweet song of love
and then like a rain
that pours and then stops
and then
silences itself, and then
we part, saying
'please, do not say
any word'
