Ibrahim's tale

Ibrahim

Ibrahim was a shoemaker
in that Persian land afar
where wisest men practice crafts
in side-alleys without name
and teach with stories

One day, Ibrahim was overcome
by happiness beyond all belief
while the sun moved from there to here

He told his friend, who said
you look the same to me

He went to the doctor who said
we’d better keep an eye on that,
it might need an X-ray

He went to the priest who said
the Devil has cunning ways
to tempt with gifts

He went to the politician who said
it’s just a way to avoid
your social responsibility

He went to the psychiatrist who said
such delusions are uncommon but
not unknown come back next week

Ibrahim walked home
through the market and stallholders smiled
even though he bought nothing

a stray dog followed him home
his wife said you’re late for dinner
how lucky you are to have me for a wife

his children said
didn’t you bring anything home for us?

But here the story of Ibrahim
splits into many versions;

so you who know that bliss
which overcame our Ibrahim
must complete it for yourselves
to tell to your chlldren and
your children’s children

so that wise men smile, and angels laugh,
and poets pause, and storytellers
nod to themselves, while
they shape and tack their shoes, that
a storyteller carries on wise shoulders
a responsibility to human beings
greater than any king..

Fishing For A Friend

when you go to fish
go fishing for the finest kind
which good anglers always do.

if you're looking for a fine fish
you must choose the purest lake
in which good anglers fish.

if you catch a fine fish
try not to let it get away
good anglers real them in.

you must bring your fish home
a fine fish will quench your hunger
after a long day fishing.

Oh How We Laughed..(Always On My Mind)

Always On My Mind (Oh how we laughed)

Life ‘s journey leads us: but, to our graves!
As the sun humbles itself and leaves
The world.. to darkness and me.
A numbness invades me insensitively.
With many a heartache following me.
My aging eyes and speak able words cease to be,
As I dipped upon the wide silvery greying seas.
Chains and dreams of haunting memories
Like the tidal waves, keeps on bothering m
Leaving traces of many a foot prints and more!
The insensitive waves dashes into the sea shores,
While my life stately ship sails with honor, dignity
Over the rough dark impatient seas so majestically•
Hoping for blue calm waters of serenity
As the journey sees its end unconditionally
To My Two BrothersFirzoe Ibrahim (died 61)
and
Fairuf Ibrahim (died 42)

Warrior...

Knocking at my windows every night
Filling my Empty Room with Light

Round the corners started to Roam
Hunting every breath of the day's Gloom

Warping my heart with silky beams
Shielding it from Sadness Schemes

Dressing me with Magical Wings
Taking me where Angels sings

Where each Cloud blocks the pains
And Every whiff of Air…
Cleans my Heart of earthly Stains

Till Nothing can be Found
But a Peace of mind…
So overwhelming...So profound…

Memories of 10th March 2008 Barbican Hall by shirani ibrahim 03/19/2010

15th March the awaited day dawns with a remembrance

Another miraculous event with a heavenly fragrance

Loss for words i dont know what to say

My twin rivers overflowing, feeling the emotions of today

Its a secret language that i cannot understand

It was a dream but tiday i awake to see its wonderland

As Nadi enters the... Barbican Hall

And majestically walks the red carpet, dignified and tall

Amusment Park

Place called fairy land
Lights and castels highly stand

Land of Million Lights
Laughters reach mountain heights

where Lonely hearts starts to enjoy
the Air of happines and joy

Land where you can hide in
when life forces you to Give in

Screams coming from a rollercoster
and stress finally get its moistur

Fairy wheels hug the skies
and souls free their Longing sigh

Bupming cars run into each other
about it Drivers wont Bother

Its where you can scream you heart out
and you wont worry about falling apart

Even it its called Insane
It's Much better than a Life so Plain

Coz Sometimes you find your serenity
in a place filled with insanity

The Storm Keeps Coming

The Storm Keeps Coming 14th Jan 2010 by shirani ibrahim Published on 01/14/2010

Winter Spring Summer or Fall… alone with sadly none to call,
The stormy waves keeps coming greedily… an effort to rise with every fall.
Time after time…. the cruel waves that hunger so mercilessly,
Day after day they seem to be getting rougher closer deliberately…
Where do one go from here and where can one go..
The stormy waves that keep dashing rapidly to and fro
Eats the sandy shore so very insensitively
Till the end of time when earth makes a resting bed so graciously…

The challenge as we saw in the Nigerian project was to restructure the economy decisively in the direction of a modern free market as an appropriate environment for cultivation of freedom and democracy and the natural emergence of a new social order.

My brother's bday....and he is gone!

Firoze ibrahim...born 20th Feb 1948....died 13th August 2009
Feelings stirred, my brothers bday dawns, an emptiness felt,
My ageing eyes overflows with a pain that cannot be dealt.
Moving along life's journey, precious thoughts do unfold
Memories of the wondrous days shared, in our hearts we hold.
Days filled with fun, laughter the sweet fragrance of love.
United we walked through trials, a blessings from above.
Those Phone calls, greetings, meetings are all now.. so gone
Sunrise, sunset and non-stop each day do effortlessly dawn.
Clinging to the sweetness and his gentle caring words,
Lessens the pain as his voice with kindness still heard.
Looking back down memory lane I must say I can’t help find,
An unexplainable sad loss in the background of my mind....

Barbican Hall...Melina Walks the Red Carpet..10th Marcg 2008

Melina walks the Red Carpet of Barbcan Hall 10th March 2008

Smiling face she stood on the danger slope
Grasping her innocent kids, her only young hope
Inhuman gales that did ghastly moanest loud
Fictitious pathetic songs and sullen dark clouds
Did not, could not Melina's dream ever drain
She gracefully walked along the red carpet to her gain
Into History her dream n she made her fame
Her descendants be, proud of her dignity and name!
Her journey once again filled with glowing radiance
With the flavor of the sweetest melodious fragrance.
Her two kids and sis she stood that special glorious eve
With cap and gown she faced Princess Ann Majestically.
