He flew with angels
At school, the look-up homework
one day was ‘mercy’…
and that proved itself
to be indeed itself
what the dictionary said
haunted; seemed inadequate;
haunted again
he smelled his life, as one
smells Spring in the air
of a freezing January day
every one of his thoughts
began and finished
with the word unsounded
then his actions too grew
out of it, returned to it
his friends, his wife, his family:
some heard it, some did not
years passed; in the darkness
of the quiet evening street,
the great and famous called on him
what he had to say was
too great for the public,
too young yet for the public
but the word, nourished,
slipped into the courtroom,
whispered in the palaces,
stood behind the priests
who did not say it yet
heard it murmuring in their ear
while for him, the word grew and grew,
flew with him higher ever higher
so they talked of how to martyr him
because the word was too big for them
he died before they decided on his fate
and was that too what it meant
leaving the word in the air like
a limitless embrace, like
the warm wish of a departing guest
said over the shoulder with a smile,
a wave, a memory
and a sowing and a growing,
a reaping, a vastness, a light,
a boundless love

The Word
Find the word, understand the word,
Depend on the word;
The word is heaven and space, the word the earth,
The word the universe.
The word is in our ears, the word is on our tongues,
The word the idol.
The word is the holy book, the word is harmony,
The word is music.
The word is magic, the word the Guru.
The word is the body, the word is the spirit, the word is being,
The word Not-being.
The word is man, the word is woman,
The Worshipped Great.
The word is the seen and unseen, the word is the existent
And the non-existent.
Know the word, says Kabir,
The word is All-powerful.
Cycle of Word
When one word drown, one word will raise
When one word vanished, one word will exist
When one word gone, one word will come
When one word finished, one word will show
When one word flies, nothing can take it back
When you talk, I wait like exiting child
The next word my ears will hear
But you keep silent, wandering in your own dream

Favourite Word
The magazine is running a competition
it wants to know our favourite word
they say they want to know why
it's the best word you've ever heard?
So it got me thinking really hard
what word fills me with delight?
could it be a word linked to Halloween
like terror, spooky, demonic, or fright?
But I like a word that just sounds funny
something like snuffle, truffle, or ruffle,
but I love a word I heard when I was young
and it still makes me smile and it is Kerfuffle
My mother said the neighbour's are at it again
sounds like there having a row or a scuffle,
and my dad would just laugh and say to us.
'take no notice it's only a bit of a Kerfuffle.'
So that's my favourite word I reckon
maybe because I first heard it when I was young?
so I'm going to say it more often to people
as Kerfuffle just slips of the tongue!

Word Is Out
Written: stock waterman
Intro:
Ooh yeah
Now word is out
The word is out
Innocence
Word is out
Over town
Now the word is out
Word is out
Now the word is out
The word is out
1:
Youre clinging to a lie
Still you hope to try
And save your face, ooh
Its a no-win situation
There aint gonna be a saving grace
Because youre sticking to a story
It really makes no sense
No judge or jury could ignore the evidence
Chorus:
Because the word is out
I cant go on believing in your innocence
Now the word is out (the word is out)
The word is out
You cant go on pretending
Its all over town
Now the word is out (the word is out)
2:
Aint but one redeeming feature
So you may as well accept your fate
(accept your fate), ooh
You cant wriggle out of this, its gone too far
Its much too late (its much too late)
But its funny my suspicions lead me to the lie
From the friend of a so-called friend
I heard about your double life
Chorus:
Ooh yeah
Because the word is out
Cant go on pretending
Innocence
The word is out
The word is out
Yeah
Over town
Now the word is out (the word is out)
Its all over town
Chorus:
(repeat & fade)

The Word
Say the word and you'll be free
Say the word and be like me
Say the word i'm thinking of
Have you heard the word is love?
It's so fine, it's sunshine
It's the word, love
In the beginning i misunderstood
But now i've got it, the word is good
Spread the word and you'll be free
Spread the word and be like be
Spread the work i'm thinking of
Have you heard the word is love?
It's so fine, it's sunshine
It's the word, love
Every where i go i hear it said
In the good and bad books that i have read
Give the word a chance to say
That the word is just the way
It's the word i'm thinking of
And the only word is love
It's so fine, it's sunshine
It's the word, love
Now that i know what i feel must be right
I'm here to show everybody the light
Say the word and you'll be free
Say the word and be like me
Say the word i'm thinking of
Have you heard the word is love?
It's so fine, it's sunshine
It's the word, love

And since I am but a word for you
You said it
You love me
As a word and nothing more
But just a word
Without a stand
Just a word
Unable to make
Your love come true
In the form of
Body and sweat
In the shape of a kiss
in the substance
of a hug
or an embrace
I admit it
I am just a word
And I am deleting
This word
Myself
You follow
the time is 11: 52 in the evening
and you are not sleeping
like me
us is also a word.

Are you ready to catch
The word in your life?
Has your word the strength
And power the bear the life?
Through the word
Is your life become happy?
Word word life life
Coining of words through life
Is the successful art
That is to cultvate.
You are here
I am here
Words are around us
Go and trace
Go go and crash.

The Word I Say
A word is dead
until it's said.
And so I say
my word to you.
And what word is it
I say to you?
I have never had
to think it through.
For it has always been
the word I've said
and will say repeatedly
until I'm dead.
The word I say
is what I feel.
The word you hear
has sweet appeal.
So I give to you
the word I've heard
that always and ever
repeats in my being
like the song of a bird
that sings to its mate
and can't hold back
before it's too late
to hear.
That word is love,
my dear.

So this is a word.
A word thats happines that word that lifts you up

Speak The Word
Unsettled hearts
Promise what they cant deliver
Bring me the wine
And the cold night air to clear my head
Gray matter memory house
Master of this trembling flesh
Steady still my doubts
Let me speak the word that precedes bliss
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
These weakened knees
Have not touched ground or pew in ages
I havent bowed my head
I offer thanks to any God or to ask for favors
But watch me now
Im falling down
Praying
To speak the word that precedes bliss
To speak the word
To speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word

God’s Word
Living out the Truths we’ve heard, comes in obeying God’s Holy Word,
As the Word of God dwells in us, when we live our life for Christ Jesus.
We can live our lives in Christ’s Love, as we focus on our Savior above,
In this world, to live our life higher, God’s Word needs to be our desire,
Through the Word of God’s Wisdom, we’re fit to serve in His Kingdom.
All men will wither to fall like grass, but, God’s Word shall forever last,
God’s Word will last forevermore, with Truth eternally certain and sure.
The Lord’s promises will fail never, as His Holy Word shall last forever,
The Word of God will empower, the life of believers each day and hour,
Power that’s been revealed by God, to guide us upon this earthly sod.
Only God’s Word can fill your soul, to make one’s life pure and whole,
God’s Holy Word can purify the lives, of every believer in Jesus Christ.
It is God’s Word that changes men, filling hearts and cleansing them,
With Living Water from the Lord, while blessing in our heart is poured,
To keep our life on this earth pure, from a source that’ll forever endure.
Following men we falter and fail, but, living God’s Word we will prevail,
To live for God’s Kingdom friend; a new life in Christ which has no end.
The Word of God is available to all, who’ve been freed from man’s fall,
For one to begin a New Life in Him, Christ, who saved us from our sin,
To live according to God’s Word, those eternal Truths that we’ve heard.

Word Up
Oh
Yo pretty ladies around the world
Got a weird thing to show you
So tell all the boys and girls
Tell your brother, your sister and your mamma too
We're about to go down
And you know just what to do
Wave your hands in the air like you don't care
Gilde by the people as they start to look and stare
Do your dance, do your dance, do your dance quick mamma
Come on baby tell me what's the word
Word up (up up) everybody say
When you hear the call you've got to get it underway
Word up (up up) it's the code word
No matter where you say it you know that you'll be heard
Now all you sucker DJ's who think you're fly
There's got to be a reason and we know the reason why
You try to put on those airs and act real cool
But you got to realise that you're acting like fools
If there's music we can use it
Be free to dance
We don't have the time for psychological romance
No romance, no romance, no romance for me mamma
Come on baby tell me what's the word
Word up (up up) everybody say
When you hear the call you've got to get it underway
Word up (up up) it's the code word
No matter where you say it you know that you'll be heard
Word up (up up) everybody say
When you hear the call you've got to get it underway
Word up (up up) it's the code word
No matter where you say it you know that you'll be heard
Word up (up up) everybody say
When you hear the call you've got to get it underway
Word up (up up) it's the code word
No matter where you say it you know that you'll be heard

Tell a word
Word word and word
without word
you are cowherd.
Tell a word
where include
entire world
where include
all creature
and water air
sky and earth
and also include light.
Tell a word
that is bright.
word word and word
through your word
I can know you
friend not foe.
Tell a word
and in that word
I conquered
entire world.

Shut Up in the Dark
All my life, I never knew
The world was to be savored,
So older and taller I grew,
And this world was never favored.
All my life, I never found
The world as oh-so-great;
Never listened to the sound
And let fate just be fate.
All my life, I never heard
The calling of the lark.
Of course my ears heard not a word.
I was shut up in the dark.

The very last word spoken
The last word spoken
was said in a whisper,
as if it wasn't meant at all
but it was the final word
that she ever spoke to me.
But she's gone now
so the word was meant
that final word spoken
said so quietly to me
maybe she didn't want to say it,
that's why it was whispered
but the word was goodbye.

In the Beginning
In the beginning was the Word…
what’s a beginning, then?
a beginning, perhaps, not in time;
a beginning, perhaps, with time itself;
in our time, the recognition’s all;
beginning known within our being;
being that is beyond beginning;
and so, always being; always beginning..
so, in the beginning – is - the Word..
the Word, a sound? yet heard before the ear;
a speaking and a listening,
waiting to be heard…
the Word, finding for itself a time;
finding for itself a place;
a wakening; a becoming;
for this, we know:
a beginning; a becoming;
the word becomes, as things become;
every word is a becoming;
that, the yogis hear;
that, poets listen for;
that spurs all philosophers;
every becoming is the Word;
every word is a becoming.

The Word That Wouldn’t Fit (Fun Poem 25)
A writer’s life is full of woe,
you find a word you like,
then you write something,
and try to fit that word in,
but when you look again.
That word you thought of
it just won’t fit in,
no matter how hard you try it,
that word just will not go.
In a fit of frustration,
you stick it here and there.
Just like jigsaw puzzle
where the pieces will not fit,
so this word will not go anywhere.
In the end you say, “OH heck! ”
Then you put the word
to the back of your mind.
Maybe another day
in another poem,
that word just might fit.
Having said all that,
I’m not betting on it.
