Rumi

Did I Not Say To You

Did I not say to you, “Go not there, for I am your friend; in this
mirage of annihilation I am the fountain of life?”
Even though in anger you depart a hundred thousand years
from me, in the end you will come to me, for I am your goal.
Did I not say to you, “Be not content with worldly forms, for I
am the fashioner of the tabernacle of your contentment?”
Did I not say to you, “I am the sea and you are a single fish;
go not to dry land, for I am your crystal sea?”
Did I not say to you, “ Go not like birds to the snare; come, for
I am the power of flight and your wings and feet?”
Did I not say to you, “ They will waylay you and make you
cold, for I am the fire and warmth and heat of your desire?”
Did I not say to you, “ They will implant in you ugly qualities
so that you will forget that I am the source of purity to you?”
Did I not say to you, “Do not say from what direction the ser-
vant’s affairs come into order?” I am the Creator without
directions.
If you are the lamp of the heart, know where the road is to the
house; and if you are godlike of attribute, know that I am your
Maser.

This Fire Is Just False

With the fire about to start,
I saw up high, and there were the stars.
I put more wood in, the fire was going.
As the heat rise, so did your name,
It screamed, and scream in my head.
I sat there paralyzed,
I wanted to know why,
Why is it that your name was on my mind?
You were there, and you are there,
I can't forget you, I just can't.
I want to be next to you,
Keeping you in my arms, feeling the warmth,
Like I did in front of the fire.
As the heat rise, you were there,
As I got warm your name was there.
All I'm trying to say is,
Your name is in my head.

And I on your way,
I'll move aside, get cold,
And forget your name was there.
Because this fire is just false,
I forgive you for trying to make me love you,
But I don't deserve you.
Dear friend I must say good-bye,
Even though, I hate to lie.

i see you walking on the snowy land
alone
there is no shining sun
the paths too slippery
for your asian
feet

you feel the world is too narrow for you
and you do not fit
like thread
to the eye of the needle

you have cried
more than many times that your fingers
can no longer count them
you have put too much
salt
on the snow

the air is dry and everything
is humid
there are no leaves on the trees
no birds singing
on this harsh foreign land
you are still
alone

on a broken heart you shall thrive
on broken wings you shall try
to fly away again
but for how long
my friend?

my friend do not be lonely
your home is waiting
warmer
the sun is always there
to caress your cold skin
and the moon at night
awaits you
for some more poems
that i make
to appease the
anger in your heart

come home my friend
they have been waiting

Awen

Ugly cows from Awen,
Seven years of famine to your land;
But with the jawbone of a donkey,
I have made a heap over here.

Scrawny and very ugly,
To be in prison for three days;
But the governor over the land is yet to meet me.

Very ugly and lean,
With the jaqwbone of a monkey at hand;
And i have been able to lie very low over here.

Like the sand of the sea,
Life here is beyond measure!
Like three hundred foxes tired tail to tail.

A dog will not whet its tongue and,
You shall not eat anything unclean;
But like six hundred thousand men on foot,
A Nazirite should not drink wine or strong drink.

Act of God?

A coin when dropped will
In one second, fall sixteen feet
In two, sixty four
In three, one hundred and forty four.

They were driving back from Sydney
Mum and Dad and their two kids
The freeway was a nightmare
So they took the old road that they did.

The old road’s quite an old road
Been there for many years
The rain was slanting sideways
Being late home was their fear.

It was night and many lights were out
The road was dark and quite awash
Water running everywhere
The kids shrieked with every splash.

A short drive now back to the warmth
Of the house in which they lived
A short drive back now to that home
Where they brought up both their kids.

Just two and three I think they were
A precious time of life
The kids strapped in the back seat
In the front was man and wife.

A dip there in the road appeared
Just where there is a creek
But we’ll be home soon they both said
Both kids were now asleep.

‘Slow down now, that’s deep water’
Said the man unto his wife
Those were the very final words
He would utter in his life.

One hundred feet, one hundred feet
One hundred feet or more
Was the depth of that great puddle
Into which the rain had poured.

It was at a place called Somersby
When the rain had drained away
That they winched up that death carriage
On the following grey day.

Yes, the chasm it was very deep
A Grand Canyon not a puddle
So for everyone upon that road
And every time you loved ones cuddle
Just think of those four driving home
And think of their full fright
And hold each other closely
Each and every single night
We should live for every minute
We should relish every hour
For simple stupid circumstance
Can destroy life’s fragile flower.

A coin when dropped will
In one second fall sixteen feet
In two, sixty four
In three, one hundred and forty four.

It was that deep.

I met the family's best friend in a local pub yesterday. He had just got back from identifying the bodies.

One Hundred Thousand Marching

One hundred thousand marching
One hundred thousand men
One hundred thousand heading
To a place and a time when
One hundred thousand dying
One hundred thousand cold
One hundred thousand praying
Forever young and never old
One hundred thousand lives were lost
One hundred thousand felt the pain
One hundred thousand maimed and slaughtered
And yet those armies march again.

Music At The Villa Marina

FOR some abiding central source of power,
Strong-smitten steady chords, ye seem to flow
And, flowing, carry virtue. Far below,
The vain tumultuous passions of the hour
Fleet fast and disappear; and as the sun
Shines on the wake of tempests, there is cast
O'er all the shattered ruins of my past
A strong contentment as of battles won.

And yet I cry in anguish, as I hear
The long drawn pageant of your passage roll
Magnificently forth into the night.
To yon fair land ye come from, to yon sphere
Of strength and love where now ye shape your flight,
O even wings of music, bear my soul!

Ye have the power, if but ye had the will,
Strong-smitten steady chords in sequence grand,
To bear me forth into that tranquil land
Where good is no more ravelled up with ill;
Where she and I, remote upon some hill
Or by some quiet river's windless strand,
May live, and love, and wander hand in hand,
And follow nature simply, and be still.

From this grim world, where, sadly, prisoned, we
Sit bound with others' heart-strings as with chains,
And, if one moves, all suffer, - to that Goal,
If such a land, if such a sphere, there be,
Thither, from life and all life's joys and pains,
O even wings of music, bear my soul!

The Fountain Leaps as if its Nearest Goal

The fountain leaps as if its nearest goal
Were sky, and shines as if its life were light.
No crystal prism flashes on our sight
Such radiant splendor of the rainbow's whole
Of color. Who would dream the fountain stole
Its tints, and if the sun no more were bright
Would instant fade to its own pallid white?
Who dream that never higher than the dole
Of its own source, its stream may rise?
Thus we
See often hearts of men that by love's glow
Are sudden lighted, lifted till they show
All semblances of true nobility;
The passion spent, they tire of purity,
And sink again to their own levels low!

Anhelli - Chapter 1

Exiles came to the land of Siberia, and having chosen a broad site they built a
wooden house that they might dwell together in concord and brotherly love; and
there were of them about a thousand men of various stations in life.

And the government had provided women for them that they might marry,
because their sentence made known that they were sent to people the country.

For a time there was among them great order and great sorrow,
for they could not forget that they were exiles
and that they should see their fatherland no more-unless God should will it.

And when they had already built the house and each one had taken up his own work,
except the people who desired to be called wise men, who remained in idleness, saying:
'Lo, we ponder on the salvation of the fatherland,' they beheld upon a time a great flock
of black birds flying from the north.

After the birds there appeared a sort of train and caravan,
and sledges harnessed with dogs, and a herd of reindeer with branching horns,
and men on skis bearing spears : it was the whole Siberian people.

At their head, moreover, walked the king of the people, who was at the same time a priest,
dressed according to their custom in furs and in corals,
and he wore a wreath of dead serpents instead of a crown.

Then that ruler, drawing near to the throng of exiles,
said in the language of their own land : 'Hail !

'Behold I have known your fathers who were also unfortunate,
and I have seen how they lived in the fear of God and died, saying `Fatherland ! Fatherland !'

'Therefore do I wish to be your friend and to make a covenant
between you and my people, that ye may be in an hospitable land
and in a country of well-wishers.

'And of your fathers now is none living except one only, who is already old
and who is well-inclined toward me ;
but he dwelleth far hence in a lonely hut.

'If ye desire that the friend of your fathers be your leader,
I will abide with you and forsake my own people;
for ye are the more unfortunate.'

Yet more that old man said, and they showed
him reverence and invited him to their tabernacle.

And they made a covenant with the people of Siberia,
who departed and settled in their snowy villages ;
but their king remained with the exiles that he might comfort them.

And they marvelled at his wisdom, saying
'Lo, this he hath surely gotten from our fathers,
and his words are from our ancestors.'

And they called him Shaman, for so the people of Siberia
call their kings and priests, who are wizards.

Mirage

Mirage
I am just a mirage
Oh - I am just a mirage
When you look at me
Thru your crystal glass you will see
That I am now your past
But you give your love to me
In your life I wasnt meant to be.
Oh I am just a mirage
Oh I am just a mirage
Just a mirage fading away like water
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I am just a mirage
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I am just a mirage
I am just a mirage
But until that day has come
When you say Ill be your only one
I will live the way its meant for me
With ups and downs and mystery.

Dervishes and Mastery

Oh.
Time has slapped me in the face
The air was thick and settled
A new tick
A slower second
You have mastered time
You have mastered
Me

My.
You've really swept me off my feet.
Haven't let me down to breathe
For weeks.
I'm suffocating
Bury me deeper
Steal my atmosphere
Let me die this way
Heart speeding in a hundred different directions

Goodness.
I'm a flat out fool
For you.
I'm a fish out of water
I've grown wings
You tell me I'm your goddess
In frenzied dervishes you paint me
You whisper: muse
You brush my face with a smile
Is the creator of something divine
A god himself?

Purity

Purity grows from the heart, of the heart,
Just like the heart it bleeds from pain,
And it is succinct in its appearance,
Lots of love are made from it,
Open fire is tossed onto those in hatred
Of the pure ones, the peaceful presidents
That change their age throughout life,
Who order the children, gaze at no sin,
Fire a person from profession.
Purity is an order from the faithful,
And my heart reaches out for them
For they are pure.

Your proximity means a lot to me

Your proximity means a lot to me

Yes, it means a lot to me to be with you
And to be intimately close to you
Not just a physical togetherness
But with a soulful oneness with you
You have been the drive of my life so far
But here and there I missed you
As I chose to act differently from your direction
You never let me down any time
You kept your watch on me
Not uttering a word
Though you maintain a silence I know
What you expect me to do
That will please you
Your directions are not always worldly wise
Your directions are not always fetching
Your directions are not always rewarding
Your directions are often different from acquired wisdom
Your directions are not taught in any school
We understand them from the experience of not life, but of living
Still your proximity means a lot to me
It leaves behind a great satisfaction
After being with you and after having acted upon your direction
When I look back
I understand that
Actions performed as per your directions
Never made me regret them
Though at the time of acting
I needed lot strength than what I require
When I am acting on the path of acquired wisdom
Your proximity means a lot to me
Oh my love, that is hidden deeply in my heart
And you are different from
The wisdom planted in the mind
And gathered in life

The Bridge over the Devil’s Fire

On the long and winding road of life
With signs of laughs and frowns,
It turns in many different ways
Curved with ups and downs,
We all have to walk alone
Inside our heads guided by our soul,
Our feelings fly on wings of psyche
God’s goodness implant, his goal.
Intrinsic beings we are on this road as
Satan plants temptation pitfalls dire,
Mind full Our Lord and Savour builds
The bridge over the devils fire.
Destiny’s child we are all born
The devil he is a liar,
Let’s all live in harmony to cross
The bridge over the devil’s fire.

Spirit Of Fire In The Water

Light, celebrated in the flame
The heat burning through the shine
Warm kiss of the waving touch
Comfy, lean on the surfaces

Embodied as the heat, spirit of fire
Enliven small body with desires
Changed when it feed with anger
Growing bigger, burning hearts of other
Cursed touches left to be ashes, gray color

Minutes in reigning power
Now the fire goes down
Gone, when the sky cries
Dropping the purest water
Silent the fire, suppressed the anger
Somehow when extinction of warm
Welcoming the rise of arrogant
Water empowered with freezing touch
Frozen as snow, hot turn cold

When power flaming ego in the fire,
As also arrogant freezing the water
Heat left, diffused with miracles
Till there's nothing for each other
When tolerate not in heart of lovers

Spirit of fire, burning in the sun
Kissed the land sealed with heat warm
Melt the icy heart, sent by celebrated sunlight
The snow white in the winter alive again
Liquid as freedom, ice captured the warm
Back to flow through the river it goes

A love shared between fire and water
Two bodies of untouchable
Unites into one shared kiss
Preserve the heat into modesty
Warming when it's too cold
Cooling when it's too hot

Tolerate of two bodies
water and fire in a bond of heat
Spirit of fire swim in the heart of water
Promised harmony, keep warm in the winter
Bringing cold refreshing in this summer
Ego of each in such altered flow spirit tendency
Create a world of respect and tolerate
When two show powers holding together
Seal cold to the fire, and flame fire to the ice
Burning love in frozen hearts
Living in warm ice forever after
As spirit of fire In the water

Power Of Love

Aye aye aye aye
Feels like fire
I'm so in love with you
Dreams are like angels
They keep bad at bay, bad at bay
Love is the light scaring darkness away
I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire, love
With tounges of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down
I'll be around with my undying
Death defying love for you
Envy will hurt itself
Let yourself be beautiful
Sparkling love flowers and pearls and pretty girls
Love is like an energy
Rushing in, rushing inside of me
Yeah
The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire, love
With tounges of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
This time we go sublime
Lovers entwined divine divine
Love is danger, love is pleasure
Love is pure, the only treasure
I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
The power of love
A force from above
A sky scraping dove
Flame on burn desire, love

Gifts Of Silences...

here we are again pinning needles
in our epidermal existences
trying to pierce every flesh
carefully noting every bursting of pus
and blood
mapping out the cartilages and bones
of our sorrows

two years more and perhaps another
twenty years of
existence
in order to understand the meaning of life

a life that lies there naked
so tempting and scented by the thousand jasmines
and saffrons
on spiced blankets
rosemary and lemon grass
and basil in every seams
of the pillows

the hands of time keep gripping
what ought to be mine (or even hours)
it does not know how to give
what we want to sip and savor
and caress

the eyes of the storms stare at us with
anger ready to strike us with its fits
and fists

this pilgrimage tiptoes on slow feet
because we are all tired figuring out what is real
oasis from the
mirage of the heat of the desert beyond us

we like to see the white seagulls feasting on a school
of fish
at the coastal collateral of our side trips

a little drink from the hands of the vestal virgins
some kisses from the dewy lips of dawn
a warm morning's hug, and nights non stop
fleshy circus

there are many things more to do
more events to attend too and many other letters
to compose

by then night has come with the gifts of silence
and then i say, ' i do, i will keep on doing what is there to make
the best of yet to come'

keep listening Beethoven, keep dancing Lady Dianne
we are here watching.

My Dream Regarding The Two Beautiful Birds

i

how do you get to
hit two beautiful birds
with a single
stone?

ii

or how to make these two
beautiful birds to get to stay
beside my window sill?

iii

how do i make these two beautiful birds
happier?
shall i make a bird house on a tree
beside my house
and give them grains every morning of the day?

iv

how do i make this dream about two beautiful birds
into a reality? they keep on chirping inside my mind
wanting to be given the realistic form of wings

wings flapping just above my eyes

for another thousand years
he is called the Father

Cold Feet

There was a little boy once upon a time
Who in spite of his young age and small size knew his mind
For every copper penny and clover he would find
Make a wish for better days the end of hard times
For no more cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
His clothes were always clean
His face was always scrubbed
There was food on the table enough to fill him up
His house was full of life - his house was full of love
But when winter days arrived
There was never money enough to shod his cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
He grew up to be a worker determined to succeed
He made a life for himself, free from worldly wants or needs
But with nobody to share the life hed made
No body to keep him warm at night
When hed go to sleep hed sleep alone with his cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
One night he walked the street looking to the heavens above
Searching for a shooting star a benevolent god
When a woman passing by brushed his arm
He turned and found love
He then wished for the courage to ask this stranger
Who she was to not have cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
He thought shed like the party life and want the finer things
So he promised more than he could buy
And he promised her the sun and moon to not have cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
He worked day and night his fingers to the bone
Hi worried mind guilty conscience drive him on
He cant give her what she needs
He wants to give her what he thinks she wants
Her sad-eyed face, his empty pockets drive him on and his cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
Hed struggled all his life to be an honest man
Proud that the dirt on his palms was the soil of the land
But some guys he knew from high school days
Said they had a plan to get rich quick
And they could count him in if he dont have cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
He thought about their offer accepted it without qualms
Dreamt about the life hed buy
The comfort that would come without cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
He decided to tell his wife things would soon turn around
He said the little boy is dead
A man stands with you now without cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet
Without cold feet - cold cold cold cold feet
He thought hed set his clock right - he though hed read his watch
He left in such a hurry he didnt think to wish for luck
Makes no difference if youre early - no difference if youre late
When youre out of time - the flowers have been laid
Youre six feet underground
With cold feet
Cold cold cold cold feet

Ultimate Power Is God My Friend

Despite all the power that men extol, a Sovereign God is in control.
And the power that they display can even change like night and day.
Even a king who guides a land, his heart my friend is in God’s hand.
God sets kings where they are and deposes them both near and far.
All men are just like the grass but The Word through Eternity will last.

And everyone friend is in His Plan, yes every woman, child and man.
But God will not force your hand, but before Him everyone will stand.
This world that God created friend, without question shall never end.
And The Spirit’s roaming earth today seeking souls who want to stay.
While all who have a hardened heart, from His presence must depart.

We don’t know just how or when God moves upon the lives of men.
Even those living in unbelief, God brings upon their life much grief.
This is to bring them to the place, where by faith they seek His face.
For Grace has appeared to all men, who without God stand condemned.
But God works the affairs of a nation to bring upon it His Salvation.

He is The Beginning and The End, with all power over Eternity friend.
The Millennium will be a taste of what in Eternity God has in place.
For all who truly love Him, no eye’s seen what’s prepared for them.
But for those who refuse His Grace, God has for them another place.
For God in Heaven is in complete control of every single living soul.

Ultimate Power is God my friend; He’s The One you’ll meet in the end.
All Power was given to Jesus by God, Who’s returning with an iron rod.
If you refuse to accept Him as Savior, you will be in Eternal danger.
The power of men He will dispel, casting unbelievers into Eternal Hell.
While all who accept Him as Savior, will receive God’s Eternal Favor.
