The Little Girl With My Last Name
Who cries for the little girl who knows not, from whence she came?
Who shares with the little girl, the story behind her last name?
Years have passed; many moons have surely shone;
All the while, she has shared a legacy that she has never known!
Many a tear has been surreptitiously shed;
Many a protestation made, many a prayer said-
With the hope that this anguish might meet its cease,
Whereby, at long last, a battered soul may find peace!
Who grieves for the little girl, who knows not the depths of her own heartache?
What may be the balm for this tragic heartbreak?
The answer obviates-I am the only one who shares her pain-
She needs me, as cause to restore that smile again!

Who Will Cry
someone once asked, 'who will cry for the little boy? '
the little boy who has known no joy
the little boy who cries himself to sleep
the little boy who always weeps
the answer was he'd cry for him
he'd cry for the boy who went out on a limb
and got his soul beaten, battered, and more
but still kept goin, not knowing what's in store
now i'll ask you the very same
who'll cry for the girl who cannot be tamed
who'll cry for the girl whose alone everyday
who'll cry for the girl that's been hurt in every way
who'll cry for the girl whose afraid of rejection
who'll cry for the girl that's the opposite of perfection
who'll cry for the girl whose run out of tears

For Those of You Who Don't Know Me
I'm the girl who holds this smile,
which is not near the truth,
I'm the girl who sits next to you,
I'm the girl who begs the Lord:
'Free me of thinking it's O.K.
to hide my feelings and emotions.'
I am that girl.
I'm the girl who falls asleep crying,
I'm the girl who's good at 'lying',
I am that girl.
I'm the girl who says she's O.K.
but look in her eyes,
hear her voice,
there's a different story,
I am that girl.
I'm the girl who looks happy on the outside,
but if you felt how I feel on the inside,
then...you'd understand,
I am that girl.
I'm the girl who listens,
the girl who has sympathy and empathy,
the girl who has her own problems...but would rather hear yours,

Daddy's Lil Girl No More
look at me and tell me who you see
is it the girl i am
or the girl i used to be
you say i'm still your lil girl
well can't you see
i'm no longer her
i havent been
and can never be again
the girl i once was
she disappeared
faded away at such a young age
the lil girl she was
it all ended so soon
forcing her to grow up

Marie (unattainable love)
When I wake up in the morning my first thought is of Marie,
She’s the girl I think of all the time, she’s the girl I want for me.
Her smile is so inviting, her eyes of full of glee,
