TWO travellers, worn with sun and rain
And gropings o'er dim paths unknown,
Meet where long separate ways have grown
To one, and then diverge again.
They halt anigh the green wayside,
Where groves pant with the impassioned song
Of nightingales; wild roses throng
There round them leaning side by side.
As close and still more close they cling,
Like some weird tale--once more in dreams
Lived through with ghastlier horror--seems
That old, cold, lonely wayfairing.

Close beat of heart on happy heart;
Beating as though no more apart

The Old Home Calls
Come back to me, little dancing feet that roam the wide world o'er,
I long for the lilt of your flying steps in my silent rooms once more;
Come back to me, little voices gay with laughter and with song,
Come back, little hearts beating high with hopes, I have missed and mourned you long.
My roses bloom in my garden walks all sweet and wet with the dew,
My lights shine down on the long hill road the waning twilights through,

One Special Summer
The summertime of my soul
Quickly sends chills down my spine
In remembrance of passion
We had that one year
My heart races as I remember it
We held each other tightly
As we never wanted to let go
We wanted this summer to last forever
Everything was just right
The nights were cool and starry
Nothing kept us from being together
It was always peaceful and bright
We walked down the lover's paths
Feeling close to one another
As we strolled through gorgeous nature
Creating an ambiance like no other
We would overlook and faults we had
Keeping true love alive at all times
We had everything in the palm of our hands
Being together allowed for big dreams
We thought this summer would be just the start
The beginning of a lifelong journey

Haunted
THE house is haunted; when the little feet
Go pattering about it in their play,
I tremble lest the little one should meet
The ghosts that haunt the happy night and day.
And yet I think they only come to me;
They come through night of ease and pleasant day
To whisper of the torment that must be
If I some day should be, alas! as they.
And when the child is lying warm asleep,
The ghosts draw back the curtain of my bed,
And past them through the dreadful dark I creep,
Clasp close the child, and so am comforted.

Morning sunlight touched my face
