To Avoid Rejection
take a part of your
pelvic bone
close your eyes
let someone take
the flesh
and bone to bone
of your own bone
let it grow
smoothly
to get rid of the pain
and start anew
bone to bone
of my contention
following yours
nothing
opposing
blood following
the flow

I used to look after someone with Alzheimer's and she used to sing this over and over and chuckle to herself until the wordsand she gradually faded away and there was no enough memory and wit to sustain the song or her any longer.

[Month of] January
It freezes- all across a soundless sky
The birds go home. The governing dark's begun:
The steadfast dark that waits not for a sun;
The ultimate dark wherein the race shall die.
Death, with his evil finger to his lip,
Leers in at human windows, turning spy
To learn the country where his rule shall lie
When he assumes perpetual generalship.
The undefeated enemy, the chill
That shall benumb the voiceful earth at last,
Is master of our moment, and has bound
The viewless wind it-self. There is no sound.
It freezes. Every friendly stream is fast.
It freezes; and the graven twigs are still.

The Eastern Swamphen
Invertebrates and slugs and such they eat
The water birds with big and ugly feet
You know them by their wild and distinct cry
And their legs are always dangling as they fly.
Related to but larger than moorhen
And with coots, rails and crakes they too share common kin
In or near water they are known to stay
And from lake or pond they won't be far away.
Midst water reeds they build their nests of reeds and grass
No work of art just an untidy mass
And three up to five eggs the female lay
With brown spots through the lightish buff to gray.
With purple under black and red on face
And flicking tails familiar to their race
Birds when once seen you never could mistake
They roost in ponds or reedy swamp or lake.
If danger threaten to water they retreat
The water birds with big and ugly feet
And you know them by their wild and distinct cry
And their legs are always dangling as they fly.

Riverside Walk
The wildering flowers bloom beautiful and gay
Along the green banks of the water way
And joyful songbirds whistling merrily
With tiny hearts brimful of ecstasy.
And all seem perfect save for water flowing gray
But pollution is a common thing nowaday
And keeping rivers clean don't appeal to modern man
As it's not part of his progression plan.
From her nest midst water reeds dark moorhen fly
And she utter forth a shrill like chirping cry
A warning to her little moorhen chicks
To leave their nest and head for cover quick.
From reed built nest four young dark moorhens creep
With bright orange bills and as they swim they cheep
And head for cover towards the river bank
And hide themselves midst rushes green and rank.
I walked along in pensive solitude
And a quarter mile down stream from Moorhen brood
I came upon what I don't often times see
A mallard out swimming with family.
From mother duck a warning sound did ring
She beat the water with her flapping wings
And her seven ducklings her signal did obey
And dived under water and hid themselves away.
The mother duck was circling in the sky
Whilst all of the time on me she kept an eye
And her anxiety for her family did grow
And she quacked aloud warning them not to show.
And as I walked homeward in the gloam of day
The wildborn birds piped with the joys of May
And my thoughts were of wild duck and moorhen
And tainted water for man a shameful sin.

A Soul Dies
Sky overcast, moon was sad.
Ashes were sent to the lake.
Who killed the bird in morning rain?
Ashes were sent to the lake.
A hidden slaughterman did not die.
Ashes were sent to the lake.
The good old name now spells the doom.
Ashes were sent to the lake.
I will call you in pitch-dark night.
Ashes were sent to the lake.
Ascending gods have ruined my life.
Ashes were sent to the lake.
A child was stolen from a mother’s bed.
Ashes were sent to the lake.

Attachment
Our attachment patterns our the shells for which we extend out to others, that we we emerge from, most get marooned in them to some extent, still most find a way to have fulfilling lives.

Moon in the lake dances with ripples?
'May the poor find wealth; those weak with sorrow find joy.May the forlorn find new hope, constant happiness and prosperity.May the frightened cease to be afraid, and those bound be free.May the weak find power, and may their hearts join in friendship.'-The Dalai Llama
Young ferryman's straw-house
by the lake
unbolted bamboo door
rattles to the Eastern wind.
He peeped through the broken window
and saw moon dances with ripples in the lake?
His memories dragged to his sad past.
Poor drunkard Tinsmith's beautiful wife and daughter
drowned in this lake on a full moon.
And if that tear dropp hidden in his eye speaks?
Certainly it's deep the tale
Like the haunted lake?
*The barley field's mealy mouthed midwife rumoured around the villagers the deceased were pregnant?

Forget Everything
Can we pretend for one second that we are together,
Whats the point of keeping my feelings at bay,
It takes alot of me,
To get the nerve to wake up,
Everyday,
And what if I dont,
Would you even care,
Would you even care,
Forget everything that we have done,
Erase me,
From your memory,
Dont call,
Dont ask about me until the day hell freezes over,
I cant remember the last time I saw you smile,
It might have been around this time last year,
It takes alot of me,
To get the nerve to tell you everything is ok,
And what if I dont,
Would you even care,
Would you even care,
Forget everything that we have done,
Erase me,
From your memory,
Dont call,
Dont ask about me until the day hell freezes over,
Its gone,
Before you know it,
You cant let go of something youve never had,
Its ash until you burn it,
I hope I never see you again,
And what if I dont,
Would you even care,
Would you even care,
Forget everything that we have done,
Erase me,
From your memory,
Dont call,
Dont ask about me until the day hell freezes over,
When hell freezes over

Across the Lake Unto the Sky
Across the lake
Unto the sky
There bloomed a rainbow
To feast my eye
That late afternoon
After a brief spell of rain
When my heart was still
Entangled with the lake's heart
There the sun rushed in
Leaving the lake half-thirsty
The archer hiding deep under the lake
Aimed and shot an arrow
At the unruly sun and left
His bow across the sky
As if telling the sun 'beware! '
Lo, vanished the sun in fright
The lake had its fill!
Do you hear the clouds applaud?

Reaching in the Bed Room Night
I could reach out to you
but hesitancy grips-
freezes things
and I grow anger about that
the hesitancy you've bred in me;
because I sense and know you'll not reciprocate
I therefore then and there plan my revenge
I know that is silly.
I had a thought with myself
ascribing actions to you
you have not done yet
and I then count my self
self righteous
for having endured
what you have said
or not done yet
based solely on my predictions
of what you would do if I did.
This is crazy before crazy
seizes me
in my understanding
of what is real and not real
and then I blame you too for this.
He said:
'I see you reach out as I have wanted but
that hesitancy makes makes me doubt
your sincerity
and I shrink away
awaiting more assurance
that you sincerely do
mean what reaching out signifies.
It is terrors fate to
to lay in bed
and each
fears to touch or reach
before sex or affection
can be breached.
And each for different reasons
takes the cowards way out;
and freezes
thereby
guarantees
freezes
and hurt feelings.
Bed room reaches
human psyches
or not.

Caught A Glimpse
What just happened?
The Hollywood Empire strikes back
And this time I am standing in their way
Now I Waited for so long
For this to come along
Now this beauty and beast is starring in my face
Still silent voice whispers 'stay'
(But in the crowd I)
Caught a glimpse of your eye
Everything freezes
I'm in an old photograph
I'm back from the start
Caught a glimpse of your eye
Everything freezes and I'm ready
To give you my heart
Mayday

Give The Dog A Bone
give the dog a bone
let him come into your home
watch him beg and whimper
for some food and some clothes
give him a job and pay him
in bones
give the dog a bone
because he will survive alone
give the dog a bone
you can pay him less
come now put your morals to the test
give him seven give him nine
but never more than ten
because the rest is mine
give the dog a bone
let him work and then send him home
he'll come back but his cover was blown
misers prevail running this slave trail
give the dog a bone

Part 4 of Trout Fishing in America
THE AUTOPSY OF
TROUT FISHING IN AMERICA
This is the autopsy of Trout Fishing in America as if Trout
Fishing in America had been Lord Byron and had died in
Missolonghi, Greece, and afterward never saw the shores
of Idaho again, never saw Carrie Creek, Worsewick Hot
Springs, Paradise Creek, Salt Creek and Duck Lake again.
The Autopsy of Trout Fishing in America:
"The body was in excellent state and appeared as one that
had died suddenly of asphyxiation. The bony cranial vault
was opened and the bones of the cranium were found very
hard without any traces of the sutures like the bones of a
person 80 years, so much so that one would have said that
the cranium was formed by one solitary bone. . . . The
meninges were attached to the internal walls of the cranium
so firmly that while sawing the bone around the interior to
detach the bone from the dura the strength of two robust men
was not sufficient. . . . The cerebrum with cerebellum
weighed about six medical pounds. The kidneys were very
large but healthy and the urinary bladder was relatively
small. "
On May 2, 1824, the body of Trout Fishing in America
left Missolonghi by ship destined to arrive in England on the
evening of June 29, 1824.
Trout Fishing in America's body was preserved in a cask
holding one hundred-eighty gallons of spirits: 0, a long way
from Idaho, a long way from Stanley Basin, Little Redfish
Lake, the Big Lost River and from Lake Josephus and the
Big Wood River.

Like the lake a Chinese poet sits beside in a painting
Who cares about
the weight of a lake?
Who would care to weigh it?
Who cares about
the colour of a lake
without the light of the sky
to reflect in it?
Who notices its modesty,
reflecting all, but silent of itself?
Who observes that the lake
remains unaffected,
not pained by loss,
not pleased by gain?
Who notices its wisdom,
obeying every law?
Who names its generosity,
among the fish, the birds,
the animals who drink?
Who knows whether the tree
leaning over it, sees its own reflection?
Who notices its love?
It bonds with earth,
It flows when needed,
as love does.
Who asks where the lake came from,
seeing it there?
Who wonders how old that lake is?
It is without age today.
Who wonders whether the lake
knows itself water,
or if water knows itself lake?
Who does not go to seek it,
for its stillness, for its silence,
as if it understands the mind’s needs,
the heart’s nourishment?
He is like that.
