You torment me with your bladed tongue;
if only you knew my life is left unsung.
Now I am broken;
blind, and left unspoken;

I am left with a voice of silence;

Flowers for a Grave.
A life time of love gave.
A wonderfall person to miss.
Words left unspoken,
now must stay that way.
I just hope you knew that,

Tears escape from my eyes.

A young gentleman came riding past,

Now I Lay Me Down To Weep
now i lay me down to sleep
when the lights go out i begin to weep
i weep because of what i see.
there is anger all around
a gentle heart can't be found.
people bickering and killing one another
for the simplest of things
a chain, a watch, a ring.
hearts are broken-words unspoken
respect has gone out the door
never to return-forever more
the word of god must be spread throughout the world.
and it must start with the youngest boy and girl.
if they are taught when they are young
they'll get to see the sun
the sun that shines so bright
will become their guiding light.
for the adults have lost that sight
and they continue to fight.

My Broken Heart
I am alone most of the time.
But oh how can that be?
A room full of people where I am
and loneliness is with me.
My mind is drifting in and out
while conversation can be heard.
But silence has taken over my heart
because of your unspoken word.
My heart is broken from words unspoken
and breathing is a chore.
The sound of your voice is what I need
just as I did before.

Graveyard in the snow
Today, I cannot find your grave,
because the stone with your name
is set in the earth,
down, where it is not in the way,
when the caretakers mow the grass,
now you are covered with snow.
Everything is white,
so full of peace, so still,
I sit on the bench,
it is so cold, but
I feel so close to you,
after all, you are cold,
under the earth,
under this white sheet,
hidden, but there, I know.
Only a raven,
shiny in funeral coat of feathers,
black against the white,
sits with me, in a tree,
not far, insistently cawing,
a warning, an emphatic word
of solace.
The trees, dark green
under the snow,
are so silent,
I can hear a soft sliding,
when the clumps of snow
fall on the ground,
startling the raven.
He flies away,
a shadow against the clouds
of winter sky.
I must leave you now,
the deep cavity of my grief
is like the silence
of your snow-covered grave,
enticing me to stay.
