Today, I want to be cynical!

Today, I want to be cynical
I won’t listen those long lyrical
I don’t care people’s opinion
Today, I want to be cynical
I’ll be the sour vinegar
On the tip of your tongue
I’ll quench my cold blood
I’ll shut my crying heart

Today, I want to be cynical
I deny false sympathy
I believe world’s hypocrisy
Today, I want to be cynical
I’ll burn your comical face
With acid glance’s attack
I’ll breed my poisonous words
I’ll carve my sadistic smile

Today, I want to be cynical
I shame self pity
I laugh at naivety
Today, I want to be cynical
I’ll be the sound of thunder
Shake often your bright day
I’ll know your hidden mistake
I’ll close your chance to break

Today, I want to be cynical!

Cynical Baby Downtown

'Soothing voices are announcing,
cynical baby downtown,
another suppression of hope,
a day of compulsory dancing,
cynical baby downtown,
and subliminal sex, guns and dope.

The mistress of rude assumptions,
cynical baby downtown,
is trying to give us a clue,
displaying the bodily functions,
cynical baby downtown,
of what I might mean to you.

Old men are showing photographs,
cynical baby downtown,
of some of the targets we hit;
I guess the animal that laughs,
cynical baby downtown,
has had a testosterone fit.

And the party went ballistic,
cynical baby downtown,
but no one was to blame;
it was your explosive lipstick,
cynical baby downtown,
that had just spoken my name.'

Diamond

OK, be cynical – say,
why, it’s only a piece of dead wood
that found itself trapped when
the earth’s crust heaved a sigh…

be cynical - say,
it didn’t ask for you to
dig it up - buried there
recovering from the shock…

be cynical - say,
anyway, it looked like a pebble then
until a man so cleverly polished it..

be cynical – say,
it’s nothing of itself – all it does
is to reflect the light that’s always all around..

be cynical – say,
we’d only value it as a piece of glass,
if smart guys didn’t fix it for them to seem rare,
and silly girls say, look, it proves he loves me…

now just look at this diamond..
what use is your mind
when your eye and your heart
get on so well without it?

Cynical Days

Another years gone by,
The worlds grown older,
Sometimes I heave a sigh,
People grow colder.
Every day I do my best to show,
I can make it in this world I know,
But all the bad thoughts that people bring,
My faith in human natures
Getting pretty thin.
Help me get through these cynical days.
Help me get through my cynical ways.
You say its just a passing phase,
Youve got to help me get through, these cynical days.
Another see through scheme,
People are shallow.
The dark nights closing in,
My dark thoughts follow.
I try and make my world a better place,
(my efforts seem in vain),
But Im competing in a human race,
(falling deeper down the drain),
That value things that just dont count,
Makes me wonder what its all about.
Help me get through these cynical days.
Help me get through my cynical ways.
You say its just a passing phase,
Youve got to help me get through these cynical days.
Yeah, you say its just a passing phase,
Youve got to help me get through these cynical days.
Yeah, you say its just a passing phase,
Youve got to help me get through these cynical days.
Yeah, you say its just a passing phase,
Youve got to help me get through these cynical days.
Cynical days.
Cynical days.

I'm Dreaming Of A Cynical Christmas

I'm dreaming of a cynical christmas,
Just like the ones we used to know,
Where us sarcastic blighters,
And RAF fighters,
Could deliver witty statements on the go.

I'm dreaming of a cynical christmas,
Just like the ones we used to know,
Where we take the mickey,
When the situations stickey,
And end up thrown out in the snow.

I'm dreaming of a cynical christmas,
Just like the ones we used to know,
We can laugh at him 'til he dies,
Chokes to death of one of our mincepies,
And our happiness never be low!

Riverside

I never made it
I just put it off a while
Just sleepin' at the bottom of a tree with my shoes off
I never faked it
I just do it awful well
Just dreamin' of a time when I can take another day off
Because ooh, well it's got me down
By the riverside
Got me down today
Well it's got me down
By the riverside
Got me down today
I never craved it
I never do it all
I just wake up in the morning by the tree and shake the dew off
I never saved it
I just hung it out a while
I'm not leavin' with the bottom of my feet up in a U-Haul
You know you look so pitiful
Easily critical
You shouldn't be so cynical
All from the pit of your heart
Well it's cruel the way you pass me by
Well it's hard, and it's hard
Well you've got me down
By the riverside
Got me down today
Well it's got me down
By the riverside
Got me down today
By the riverside...

Proud To Be Amongst The Crowd

There was a time,
When I referred to someone as being a fool...
I intended to offend.
Today?
I am very cautious to call anyone a fool.
Too many today,
Would think that to be a compliment.
And proud to be amongst the crowd.

I miss those days,
When being cynical and sarcastic...
Would get an eyebrow raised.
Today?
Even men are getting their eyebrows shaved,
And arched to look permanently offended.
Needless to say,
My approach has sought to seek alterations.

Condition Critical

Oh the tension's mounting
The pressure starts to show
All the men in haunting
Please don't let me go
(Don't go)
Try to free my body
(Don't go)
Try to strap me down
(Don't go)
These'll never break me
(Don't go)
Free wheel to look at me
Condition critical
I'm feeling physical
Condition critical
Now I'm really cynical
The bells they are ringing
Or is it in my head
My nerves numb understanding
I'm falling out of bed
(Don't go)
So call it paranoia
(Don't go)
I don't see it that way
(Let's go)
You say I adore ya
(Hell no)
We're gonna rock they way
Condition critical
I'm feeling physical
Condition critical
Now I'm really cynical
Ooh ooh
Whips and chains
Don't feel no pain
What's so wrong
I think I'm going out of my head
Over heels
I can't feel
No pain, only pleasure
Get me out
Take me home
Can't you see my condition
Woo-woo-woo
Condition
Condition
Condition critical, critical
Condition
Condition
Condition critical
Condition critical
I'm feeling physical
Condition critical
Now I'm really cynical
Condition critical
I'm feeling physical
Condition critical
Now I'm really cynical (Cynical)
Condition
Condition
Condition critical, critical
Condition
Condition
Condition critical, critical
Condition
Condition
Condition critical, critical
Condition
Condition
Condition critical, critical

Affirmations(2002-2004)

Today, I will get up before my alarm
Today, I won't close my eyes until dusk
Today, I will not get a speeding ticket
Today, I will count this day as a first
Today, I will enjoy the life that has been left to me
Today, I won't frown over the may-have-beens
Today, I won't cry over the should-have-beens
Today, I won't wonder about the could-have-beens

Today, I'll smile.......Today, I'll Laugh.... Today, I'll relax

Today, I won't feel alone because I don't see you
Today, I'll find something new that wasn't true of you
Today, I won't be afraid to look upon a new face
Today, I'll step up and take my place
Today, I won't think about what I've lost
Today, I'll look forward instead of behind
Today, I'll find some piece of mind

Today, I'll hope.... Today, I'll pray... Today, I'll believe

Today, I'll dream as if I always did
Today, I'll wish on a star the way I used to
Today, I'll reach for the heavens and sigh
Today, My heart will start to heal
Today, the biggest miracle is ME.
Today, Yesterday's problems ceased to be
Today, the rain has stopped and the sun has returned
Today, the breath of kindness is found in words

Today, I wonder.... Today, I am a child.

There has been a day like today
But a fresh new day is today
It is a unique day today
It is wide open today
All the answers for our questions has today

Let us dream today
Let us laugh today
Let us share our love today
Let us express our greatness today
Let us trade many a yesterday for today

Let us perform our tasks today
Let us make it a magnificent today
Let us thank God for giving life today
Let us thank God for seeing His creations today
Let us love most about today

A golden day is today
For it is a fact today
It has arrived today!

Extremely Frightening

What is wrong?
What's the matter?

'Why do you ask?
Nothing is wrong.
In fact...
I am feeling great.
No need to complain.
Not today.
Everything is right 'there'...
Up in the face.'

You respond as if you can be pleasant.

'Oh...
Don't try it.
You're trying to see my eyebrow arch?

That's exactly what I am saying.
You said that...
And not a raised eyebrow did I see.
No sarcasm!
Nothing cynical!
Nothing 'snide'...
Flip or 'clippish'!
Nothing at all to say,
About how stupid fools are.

'Well...
Come on,
Give me a break!
I use to pride myself...
In having something 'wise'
And smart mouthed to say!
Now?
It seems 'everybody' has stolen my routine.

I...once again,
Have decided to be innovative.
Now I express love, patience and understanding.'

And that's what's frightening.
Very few are doing that at all today.
You stand out like a wart on someone's face.

'Now...
I want to point out something.
IF I had said that to you...
A few months or even days ago,
You would be ready to argue or fight with me.

Today...
I don't have to say a word.
People can see all of their blemishes and flaws.
They are all out in the open now.
Every last one.

And 'that' to you should be extremely frightening.'

Why is that?

'I haven't seen so many ugly people in my life!
Have you? '

Is Today the Day

Is today the day
we tell Satan flee
is today the day
we will be free

Is today the day
we curl and run
is today the day
we use that gun

Is today the day
much like before
Is today the day
to close the door

Is today the day
the walls come down
Is today the day
we will abound

Is today the day
we ask Jesus in
Is today the day
life begins again

Is today the day
we help a friend
is today the day
Will we let Him in

Pretending To Be Concerned

I use to be accused of making,
Some of the most outrageous comments.
With a cynical and sarcastic flair.
But today my statements are not as offensive,
As I would like others to perceive them to be.
No!
It seems my 'detected' embitterness,
Now is expressed openly by many.

Am I angered by this?
YES!
When I was thought to be a misfit maverick,
With nationalistic motives...
That allowed me to flaunt a daring to be different.
Today?
Everybody wants to be deemed as a disgruntled citizen.
And loudly voicing their disgust.

It seems as if when I did this,
I was quickly abandoned...
By those who chose to defend their pretentions.
And now...
They are pretending to be concerned.

Today...

Today, the leaves were greener
Today, the sky wasn’t grey
Today, the sun was brighter
Yes, it changed today

Today, people transformed
Today, they weren’t rude
Today, I felt loved
All just today, it’s true

Today, I lived for today
Today, was not for the future
Today, was a great day
Not menial, tiring, brutal

Today, I laughed in silence
Today didn’t make me cry
Today, everything became clearer
But, today, I couldn’t figure out why

And today, if everything changed
And today, if it wasn’t a dream
I don’t know what happened
But today will become everyday, it seems.

Just for today...

Just for today I will start my day the right way
Just for today I will pray on my knees
Just for today I will be thankful for all my treasures
Just for today I will lean more into HIS understanding

Just for today I will be confidant and share my heart
Just for today I will not be afraid
Just for today I will Love myself unconditionally
just for today I will extend grace to all I know

Just for today I will be BOLD and Courageous
Just for today I will share my hopes and dreams
Just for today I will listen to others as well...
and just for today I will help others succeed.

Just for today I will accept myself for who I am
Just for today I will work on my gifts...and
Just for today I will extend a hand to a fellow man
Just for today I will know God put me on this earth to Give

With Angst And Cynical Rhetoric

Why are your commentaries,
So filled with angst and cynical rhetoric?

'I like the way you put that!

If my concerns were printed,
To exclude all delusions...
I would be considered socially unfit.
And with the use of censorship...
You would not be exposed to any of it.

That is why I have chosen,
To edit my own comments.
Ensuring my angst felt with cynical rhetoric,
Would leave you to read between the lines.

To find your own reason,
To mutilate and redefine...
A more intellectual way to express your anger.'
