fragile maiden
drown into river
loosen is her hair

Together Well Die
Madness is fragile and fragile is she
In chaos shes agile and madness is me
We knew from the beginning it wasnt alright
Like being in a padded room for more than one night
Judgment escaped me I speak for us both
Like the bond that we made we call it an oath
Together we will live
Together well die
Filled with the confidence of nothing to loose
Armed with an axe and a whole lot of booze
Plans were made down to each detail
With a plan like that how could we fail
We packed all our gear in the trunck of my brothers car
cause time is running out says the clock on the wall
Judgment escaped me I speak for us both
Like the bond that we made we call it an oath
Together we will live
Together well die
Madness is fragile and fragile is she
In chaos shes agile and madness is me
She had the key to keeping me insane
But now Im gone and shes got to be tamed
As I am telling you as it is true
Im on my way to bury you
Gonna put you down under
Gotta put you down under

The River Sings
The river sings
A voice rises above
Fairer than the water, rings
I know you well
For the river has told
All there is to tell
It sung of a maiden
Fair as the water’s song
Her heart heavy laden
Though she sang
Her song was sorrowed
In voice the sadness rang
No words were needed
The river knew
Her voice it heeded
She walked alone
Her gaiety was lost
River, her only home
She listened to the water
Telling a story
Calling her River Daughter
The river sang, through day and night
Sang for her, the only listener
She joined the song, through dark and light
She called to her lover
Come free me!
Called with song and river

Dica
With flowers fair adorn thy lustrous hair,
Dica, amidst thy locks sweet blossoms twine,
With thy soft hands, for so a maiden stands
Accepted of the gods, whose eyes divine
Are turned away from her--though fair as May
She waits, but round whose locks no flowers shine.
Of This You Can Be Sure
The summer sun rises over the hills,
With a beauty and certain grace,
But it cannot compete with the beauty of you,
Or the beauty of your face.
The falling snow in wintertime,
Makes everything look so new,
But it cannot compare with the beauty,
The beauty that is you.
The birds in springtime sing their song,
So sweetly and so pure,
But they cannot compare with your sweet words,
Of this you can be sure.
The colorful leaves on autumn trees,
All covered with morning dew,
May be glorious in their beauty,
But are nothing compared to you.
All the wonders on this fine earth,
And the glory of up above,
Are nothing compared to your sweet charms,
Or the beauty of your love.

Ophelia is Drowning
Ophelia is drowning,
And she is not afraid,
She thinks death quite romantic
At 20 she is already an old maid.
Ophelia is drowning
In a view for all too see
In a unrequited suicide
For a love such as he.
Ophelia is drowning,
Her faded fingers hold a wedding bouquet,
And the water fills her lungs
She will never see her wedding day.

She Is Lovely (French / Dutch Roundel) (In Answer To Dorothy Parker)
She is lovely, but sometimes silent is she,
so fragile she looks with her golden hair
but always she is seen as fair
and about her sheer beauty most men agree.
Still she smiles with modesty
while her looks are beyond pretty and somewhat rare.
She is lovely, but sometimes silent is she,
so fragile she looks with her golden hair
that I a withering flower see
and men at her do continually stare
but of this she is totally unaware
as if she is from this world free,
she is lovely, but sometimes silent is she.

Fragile (demo 1998)
Four o'clock in the morning
I close my eyes and consider you
Is this some kind of warning
To let me know you're just passing through my life?
It's a good place to be
For someone like you to take solace in me
This is my fragile reality
For someone as eager as you
Can break me in threes
And break through my needs
To get to the dirt
You learned how to hurt... me
Six o'clock in the evening
I brush my hair and will you to know
Is this some kind of teasing?
And are you prepared to be half as true as you try,
As you try hard to be?
Someone so cautious and careful and free
And why are you waiting for me?
You're steady and stable and able to be close to me
I'm strapped to my seat
The tables have turned
You know how they burn right through me
Why do you wrestle with my right to be different from you?
Why do you settle for me if it's not what you wanted to do?
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
Only with you
Four o'clock in the morning
I hold your head and take care of you
Are these symptoms of touring?
Did someone you love leave you black and blue?
Sometime, somewhere I'll never be
Aware of misfortunes and torture and grief
This life is a good place to be
For someone as fragile as you
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
But only with you
Only with you
I'm fragile too
But only with you
Only with you
I'm fragile too
But only with you
I'm fragile too (7x)
But only with you
Only with you
I'm fragile too
But only with you.

Touch Me Fall
All skate
Now reverse
Im waking from a dream
The neighborhood is green
All the sounds Ive missed
All the years
Come down to wedding death and fear
Ill Ive heard has been in vain
Like water on a stain
Touch me
Im so beautiful
Rub your hands
Across my head
Just like this
Come with me
Now its not worth it
If you dont
Are you hiding
I am hiding
Cypress moon
Im bald in june
Like the granite
In a stream
Swamp ophelia
Im torn down
Let your waters
Let me drown
Touch me
Im so beautiful
Rub your hands
Across my head
Just like this
Come with me
Now its not worth it
If you dont
Are you crying
I am crying
Jump jump
Jump so high
Watch me let you down
If I stumble
I will stumble
If I fall
I will fall
Im trying to hold it
Like rain in a river
Everything is
Getting bigger
Better this
Wont last forever
Touch me fall
Touch me fall
Jump jump
Jump so high
Watch me let you down
If I stumble
I will stumble
If I fall
I will fall
Im trying to hold it
Like rain in a river
Everything is
Getting bigger
Better this
Wont last forever
Touch me fall

Goodbye (Love Poem)
Is this madness, this something called love?
And sometimes desire and often just lust.
When I drown in the moment I forget who
I am, and more important, who I am not.
When the time comes for our goodbyes,
A last kiss always stays with me, so that
Although we’re apart, I know we are not.

The Ying & Yang Of Her Hair
One day I tell her
I love her hair
up.
Another day I tell her
I like her hair
down.
“Which is it? ”
She frowns
“Up
or
down! ”
“Ah...”
I say
“Either
or neither! ”
“I love your hair
up
in that it can
come down
splash all over me.”
“And I love your hair down
in that it can be
put up
in a cathedral of curls! ”
“I love the one
becoming the other
…the process of
becoming! ”
You leave the room
only to return
with one side up
& one side down.
I laugh.
“Not quite what
I had intended.
You throw yourself
into my lap
let your hair
waterfall
all over me
& I
drown... drown

Dams On The Cuyahoga
Just west
of the Lake,
meanders
the burning river.
The river
in my dreams.
The river on fire.
The river
that oozes
rather than flows.
The river
in which
a person
does not drown
but decays.
And there
the river sits,
waiting for me
to come back home.

In Resisting
in resisting you
your breaths so near my nostrils
your hands
warming my hands
your hair blown by this
scented air
from your eyes
silently too
gazing
sizing what i may give you
i gently
lift your hands
away from my hands
shy away from your hair
trying to entwine
some locks of my hair
i waft the scented
air away from
my nostrils
i gaze away
from your gaze
i walk a step farther
away from you
i become a boat
my mind like paddles
sailing away from you
against the current
i begin to feel
that i am a rock
in the middle
of this raging river

River Of Love
(sambora)
Let me tell you a story
About body and blood
Theres a fire below
Deep in the river of love
Hey pretty mama Im just trying to be polite
I wanna make you feel the rhythm of the river tonight
And when the story is over
Youll be satisfied
Honey, honey, honey dont you understand
To make you feel like a woman
Makes me feel like a man
Let me take you down to the river of love
Baby pull me under
Make me drown in your flood
Baptize my body in your river of love
Wontcha take me down
I wanna drown
In your river of love
If youre a little lovesick
Woman I got the cure
Let me be your preacher
And you can be my whore
I feel your heart pumpin honey dont say not
I wanna dive in your river
Take you down real slow
And then your body will quiver
And the river will flow
Honey, honey, honey dont you understand
To make you feel like a woman
Makes me feel like a man
Let me take you down to the river of love
Baby pull me under
Make me drown in your flood
Baptize my body in your river of love
Wontcha take me down
I wanna drown
In your river of love
Down, down, down let me take ya
Down, down, down I wanna take ya
Let me take you down to the river of love
Baby pull me under
Make me drown in your flood
Baptize my body in your river of love
Wontcha take me down
I wanna drown
In our rive of love

Drown
Drown, drown
Drown, drown
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
And you know that I need you
So give me something I can do
But you just take and rip away, until its over
Ive been waiting for so long
Finally found out what went wrong
Listen closely and you will hear, that it is over, right now
She ties you down, down, down, down, down, down, down
Wasted!!
You made me love you
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Lie your head down thoughts consume
On a blanket in your room
Wraps into fire and comes so clear
Face head over
Drifting out, out into sea
Looking glass, cleared for me
Glancing slowly for some room
To bang a nail solidly through
Its all over cant you see
Ive given you all of me
So scratch until you dig away, all of the venom from your vein
I cant help you, cant you see, that it is over
Dont you know its over, dont you know its over
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Sacrifice my soul to you
Disappearing in thin air

Ecce Ancilla Domini.
Behold the Handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to Thy word.'
The Angelus
The bells from St. Mary's still rings in the twilight
though I am a million miles away
from my hometown in which I was raised.
I hear them this early evening,
somehow they ring out this end of day
that falls, lies, then drowns
into the waters off this big city river bridge
where I sit alone,
just thinking
across the river
Ophelia closes her shop
the books standing alone, now
in perfect attention
waiting to be held
waiting to be read
I understand the books
this river's light and its reflections hold me now
and that, that is good
like the light always seems to be
though its passing will silence
the mourning birds
deepening my melancholia
like the waters of this river....
still, for now
the light shines
as the Angelus Bells ring
the light dancing
across the waters of this wide river
(Mars and Venus ascending)
that sameness of light reflects
in the eyes, the smile of Ophelia
who closes the doors
on the books
in the shop
who wait to be held
who wait to be read
who wait to be understood
as we all do
or hope to
before the Angelus Bells
ring us out of our days....

Just Drown
I'm sorry I'm no longer around.
I'm sorry you can no longer hear my foots steps as they hit the ground.
You angered every inch of me.
Go ahead live in your sin and filth.
All I got left to say is
Just drown.
Just drown.
Just drown.
It's getting harder and harder to keep your head above the same water.
No I'm no longer using my foot to hold you down.
This time it's your doing all on your own.
My hands washed clean.
I have done this so obsessively.
For I can't stand to have a spec of you left on me.
All I got left to say is
Just drown.
Just drown.
Just drown.
You still try to reach me.
But I'm just so far gone.
As that phone rings.
Oh I know that number oh so well.
I'm not answering it.
The person on the other end can go straight to hell.
All I got left to say is
Just drown.
Just drown.
Just drown.
Beg Satan for a greater mercy then I could ever give.
For all the things you did.
I just never can forgive.
A vulnerability you can no longer breach.
I was weak.
But now the walls are made of stone.
I built them all alone while you were sipping drinks upon your favorite beach.
All I got left to say is
Just drown.
Just drown.
Just drown.
Oh how I so wish you would disappear forever.
Instead of this constant nagging.
It is getting to be flat out harassment.
I let go so why can't you.
A normal parting of ways.
That just can never happen.
Not another constant reminder of days past.
Why is it we always want the one thing we can never have?
Such a drag.
All I got left to say is
Just drown.
Just drown.
Just drown.

MO CAILIN ALAINN RUA(My Beautiful Red Haired Girl) /RED RIVER/WEARING HER HAIR - Sequence
MO CAILIN ALAINN RUA
(My Beautiful Red Haired Girl)
Your hair
taken by the wind
blown
into flame
a fiery red
Medussa
standing on
the edge
of this
mountain
a world
turned to stone
as if your gaze
froze this landscape
into place.
I too
still as stone
your hair
flaring up into the air
fiery snakes
like thoughts
bursting out of your mind
fighting the sunset
that only
a small box camera
captures
& contains
this photo
cutting off your head
from the rest of you
mythical
untouchable
mo cailin alainn rua
mo cailin alainn rua.

RED RIVER
Your hair
trickles down your back
in curls...curls
curl after curl
rivers of ringlets
cascading down your spine.
I want to drown
in the waters of your hair.
You wear a waterfall
over each shoulder
The fiery flames
of your tresses
crashing over thigh & hip & buttock!
My hands
like fishes
swimming all over
your body
splashed with the beauty
of your hair
touching & touching
the sheer
nakedness
of
you.
***** **
WEARING HER HAIR
You stand
before me
dressed only
in the dress
that your hair
weaves about you
naked
yet
not
you wear
your hair
as a magical
garment
from a half remembered half forgotten fairytale.
You undress
throwing your hair over each shoulder
I come to you as if a spell
commanded me to & you
wrap me
in your hair.
Both our
nakedness
wearing your hair
sheltered here
lost amongst
kisses.
***
A fellow poet(well, it wasn't a fella) divulged that she too was red of the hair(this had been unknown to me) and so this homage to redheads came into being just on this wisp of information...the memories and images flood back into being.

Teach The Gifted Children
Teach the gifted children
Teach them to have mercy
Teach them about sunsets
Teach them about moonrise
Teach them about anger
The sin that comes with dawning
Teach them about flowers
And the beauty of forgetfulness
Then take me to the river (take me to the river)
And put me in the water (and put me in the water)
Bless them and forgive them (take me to the river)
Father cause they just dont know (take me to the river)
All the gifted children
Teach the gifted children
The way of men and animals
Teach them about cities
The history of the mysteries
Their vice and their virtues
About branches that blow in the wind
On the wages of their sins
Teach them of forgiveness
Teach them about mercy
Teach them about music
And the cool and cleansing waters
What do they say, take me to the river (take me to the river)
Take me to the river (take me to the river)
Put me in the water (take me to the river)
And teach the gifted children (take me to the river)
All the gifted children (take me to the river)
(take me to the river)
(take me to the river)
