Art Of Title
The description, the distinction
The display, the design
The divider, the destination
It could be a word, it could be a long sentence
It could be straight forward, it could be the study itself
It could come in the blink of eye, it could be debated for days
The tell sign, the trade mark
The teaser, the track
The theme, the talk
It could be brilliant, it could be plain
It is well thought, it could be just a joke
It is a true philosopher, or just for formality tag
The word, the emphasis
The color, the tone
The size, the graphic
The rule of attention, the opposite direction
The bold line, the creative mind
The first impression, the face of decision
Don't judge a book by its title

A Writer's Block
With pen poised over the blank white sheet,
Waiting to receive writings, inspirational or automatic,
Through some sphere of phychic channeling,
My mind remained still.
Bleak snow-covered tundra in an artic freeze,
The whiteness of the paper blinds the eye of my imagination.
Feeling the chill breath of solitude sweeping
Across the barren flats of reflection,
I cap my pen and swear to never write again.
Then, faintly seen, upon a distant slope of thought,
A vague impression, a word, a sentence lights the
Winter's sky; line by line trails of creative expression
Mysteriously appear across that stark and frozen plain.
Like some great river's ice broken up at first breath
Of spring, a poem is freed to float.

If you cry 'Forward' you must without fail make plain in what direction to go. Don't you see that if, without doing so, you call out the word to both a monk and a revolutionary, they will go in directions precisely opposite

Plain Description...
....and so i finally
found it,
this charm of simply
telling you
what is in my mind,
no extra color
nothing about perfume
just the plain
color of my skin
my sweat,
my fears, and wishes
it is like seeing stars
outside the house
and then coming back again
to your study table
and begin
writing about it, nothing added
but plain

Why Acrostic?
Acrostic poetry
conceals a word
read it repeatedly
on every first sentence
soon you'll know the secret
the theme reveals the word
in every first letter of the line
can see who/what the poem about

The Word
Find the word, understand the word,
Depend on the word;
The word is heaven and space, the word the earth,
The word the universe.
The word is in our ears, the word is on our tongues,
The word the idol.
The word is the holy book, the word is harmony,
The word is music.
The word is magic, the word the Guru.
The word is the body, the word is the spirit, the word is being,
The word Not-being.
The word is man, the word is woman,
The Worshipped Great.
The word is the seen and unseen, the word is the existent
And the non-existent.
Know the word, says Kabir,
The word is All-powerful.
Fundamental of Liar Chapter CV: Later
A magic word to stop a whining child
A lazy word to avoid problem
A vague word to cover our fear
A determined word to achieve our dream
A distant word to hang the commitment
A teaser word to hint surprise
A playful word to tease the loser
A promise word to fire revenge
A threatening word to doom the enemy

Cure For Stuttering
Whilst walking to work through Brunswick Square
A man on a bench went to stand
He wore a brown suit and he had auburn hair
And a notebook was poised in his hand
His eyes were sincere and they pleaded to me
More than his words when revealed
A stammering sentence
congealed at his lips
And the smirk at my mouth I concealed
I fashioned a smile which served to bring calm
And he heartily took in some air
He passed me the book at the end of his arm
And I read under his watchful stare
The sentence was simple, it said nothing new
And I handed it back with conviction
I decided to give him the time he was due
And help cure his crippling
affliction
He looked at me kindly with thanks in his face
And I noticed his eyes were ice blue
He spoke his first words with a steadying pace
Which for him was a brave thing to do!
I turn out to be candidate number3
He had been there from first light of Sun
He had to stop one hundred people like me
and get us to sign when he'd done!
Although I admit I first thought it a joke
And this method of cure quite absurd.
My mind would be swayed with each word that he spoke
By the last line less stutter was heard
I told him well done and I said he was brave
He thanked me and wished me good day
His eyes thanked me too with the look that they gave
And with that we both went on our way

The Purple Cast
A breath is not a word
A whisper is not a sentence
Pain is not a paragraph
But Pride and Prejudice do make a book
What is a word?
Where is a sentence?
Who is paragraph?
When is a book?
All these question race through our minds
The universal quest for understanding
Flat on our backs, we contemplate
While the ambulance siren sounds

Reason
Reason
Reason's season too few seize on
Responses fair. Reaction's treason -
Rhymed or prose - too seldom frees one
Rose thought mind's bees land with ease on.
Refuse subjective judgements' lease on
Rational logic, right brain keys on
Reach to teach each just one flees none.
notes
PLEIADES: This titled form was invented in 1999 by Craig Tigerman, Sol Magazine's Lead Editor. Only one word is allowed in the title, followed by a single seven-line stanza. The first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title. Rhyming is not required but may be used for added effect.

Cycle of Word
When one word drown, one word will raise
When one word vanished, one word will exist
When one word gone, one word will come
When one word finished, one word will show
When one word flies, nothing can take it back
When you talk, I wait like exiting child
The next word my ears will hear
But you keep silent, wandering in your own dream

Word is an Actor to the Poem
Word is an actor to the poem
Play small part in the end of some row
Or get the centre of attention
Written in title and crucial point
Or just a bridge between other characters
Word is an actor to the poem
Cast and found to create whole story
Have a role building imagination
Changed by mood or deep thought
Dancing in the mind of every poet

A Well Crafted Word
Why am I so philosophical, a philosopher a long time ago once wrote.
The song writer, script writer, poet and novelist like to use a great quote.
Some poems are written with a catchy rhyme and a theme.
A well crafted word can help and be a great writers dream.
Everyone knows that the pen is mightier than the sword.
A well crafted word can give the reader great reward.
'A metaphor is just like a simile'; An unknown author once quoted.
It's true about all writers I know, they all hate their words being misquoted.
To writers one and all, a well crafted word is always a must to write down.
Just remember this about all writers, they can make great use of a pronoun.

Today... 'The Word
Word of love and the Word made flesh
Word incarnate forever blessed
Word of life and the Word of light
Word of power and Word of might.
Word that was spoken, Word of the Lord
Word of the Law and the Word of God
Word of peace and Word eternal
Word of truth and last Word of all.
Word of wisdom and the Word of healing
Word from heaven, a Word so appealing
Word fulfilling the Word of prophecy
Word of the Spirit and Word of destiny.
Word of exhortation and Word of grace
Word of encouragement and Word of faith
Word of promise and a Word of insight
Word from the beginning and Word of delight.
Word of knowledge and a Word of boldness
Word of peace and the Word of righteousness
Word of the covenant and Word of love
Word of the Father from heaven above.

The Word That Wouldn’t Fit (Fun Poem 25)
A writer’s life is full of woe,
you find a word you like,
then you write something,
and try to fit that word in,
but when you look again.
That word you thought of
it just won’t fit in,
no matter how hard you try it,
that word just will not go.
In a fit of frustration,
you stick it here and there.
Just like jigsaw puzzle
where the pieces will not fit,
so this word will not go anywhere.
In the end you say, “OH heck! ”
Then you put the word
to the back of your mind.
Maybe another day
in another poem,
that word just might fit.
Having said all that,
I’m not betting on it.

Have You?
have you ever experienced walking
just walking away without having any destination in mind?
just seeing the place where you always pass
the trees along the path
some weeds and stones and carabao dung
no conclusions
just observations
the clouds hanging on the side of the hill
the sun shining above a tall coconut tree
you take shade
and some streaks of light pass thru the leaves
sometimes i drive the car
but i do not have any place in mind
or name
or purpose
i just keep driving following the road
and slowly i see the ordinary things
and people and
structures
an old bridge abandoned
beside its railing some vines
rust overcoming its steel edges
your mind keeps traveling
but you do not stop it
it is the one controlling itself
not you
the sounds of birds and the
motors and some conversations
of people around you
vendors and passers-by
carrying their goods and
important supplies
have you ever written a poem
without any plan as to its theme
or a careful thinking about some imagery
or a deliberation as to the propriety of its tone
its count and color?
this is the one.
this is the poem that is making itself.
no rules. no theme.
no expectations.
plain monologue.
no unity. no consistency. nothing logical.
it is free. and it may be nothing but
an ugly piece.
but it is.
it is. Just as it is.
and this could be nothing but a
portrait of the face of
nothing. Nobody. No one.
No.Yes. A No.

Nobody on the boat
It was not me at all
How could I have that much fall?
I was so resolute and brilliant
This looked something subservient
How can I look like cruel man?
I did all fine things for man and woman
How many institutions were run on charity?
They had fine display of standard and quality
I thought something had really gone wrong
The theme was entirely different from original song
The mirror had no real reflection of its own
But I was renowned man and well known
Till this time I was falsely made to believe
It was under falsehood that I presented and lived
It struck my mind that mirror is reminding me of something
It has altogether different picture for real thing
Even though I had escaped people’s attention
My conscious was there for its mention
It spoke gently when I was facing mirror
There absolutely no misjudgment or an error
The mirror was reminding me of impeding danger
I was about to face ire, rage and anger
People were trying to know about my intention
I was fool not to catch nerves and attention
Was this a stern warning to mend the ways?
Was it some signal to remind me of going away?
I thought of it and decided to shed the double life
How difficult it was to live on the edge of the knife?
It works on no particular principles
You may find many followers or disciples
But the moment their goal was over
You will be left alone to find the shield or cover
I laughed at the mirror impression
Though I was same but left me with depression
What would happen if I am dragged and made scapegoat?
I will have no shore, no friends or no body in the boat

You Cant Judge A Book
You cant judge a book by looking at the cover
No, you cant judge a man by looking at the cover
And you cant judge a book by looking at the cover
When I was young and went to school
My mama taught me the magic rule
And what she said I tried my best to follow
She said
You cant judge a book by looking at the cover
No, you cant judge a man by looking at the cover
And you cant judge a book by looking at the cover
Then I left school and moved around
And what I saw and what I found
Made me remember what she said to follow
She said
You cant judge a book by looking at the cover
No, you cant judge a man by looking at the cover
And you cant judge a book by looking at the cover
And now I think, by now Id know, that what appears is not always so
And I remember what she said to follow
She said
You cant judge a book by looking at the cover
No, you cant judge a man by looking at the cover
And you cant judge a book by looking at the cover
