Sulphur And Brimstone (Revised)

Once I'd mastered cut and paste by cheerfully
bouncing up and down, I transferred my Work
Plan to the assessment instrument making it
sing like a violin, though sadly, an ominous
contrabass creating the song of ‘Rating 3 -
Competent' seldom needing to be asked about
progress of tasks while showing commitment

I am an accomplished advisor ready to guide
anxious colleagues through the disastrous
minefield of Self Assessment, recognized as
inspirational after confessing I worked with
a blinding headache and suffered self-
immolation to get through a never-ending
avalanche of self-referencing questions

I feel justified; my being means something
I help others through pitfalls that threatened
me as I braved brambles of confusion, arriving
in calm waters of Assessment Duly Completed
and handed to HR - the Section spawned in
Hell suffering us the sulphur and brimstone
of self-evaluation!

Giving Up Life

Every year when we do Assessment with a
custom-made Assessment Instrument and I
have to explain why I have not changed into
a machine as yet

When I have to hide my fear of turning into a
robot and secretly rejoice that I have not lost
my feelings as yet - and everybody despises
me as a low achiever

And I receive a low mark for not being competent,
at all - I go through agony, I would LOVE to fit in -
would LOVE to turn into a machine if it could bring
me a feeling of safety

But I cannot kill my soul, stifle my spirit and destroy
my feelings, I don't know how to rejoice at the pros-
pect of killing myself, while I abhor being the most
lowly official alive

I live with the shame because I cannot disown my
inner self, I suspect giving up life is not my decision,
I have tried it before and it never worked - I'm stuck
with being me…

I Am In Total Agreement With Your Assessment

I am in total agreement with your assessment.

It is difficult to live with limited funds.
Budgeting to pay for shelter, food and utilities.

I am in total agreement with your assessment.

It is difficult to witness others live being deprived.
While their lives are being ignored.
And/or exploited in a hussle to keep them needy.

I am in total agreement with your assessment.

So many now are forced to descend from high horses.
And getting a taste for the first time,
How life is lived without good credit scores.
Or multiple opportunities coming to knock at their doors.

I am in total agreement with your assessment.

Very few are not so quick to pass judgement these days.
And knowing from my own experience...
How to remove myself from someone stunned.
Learning they too have become shunned and 'thumbed'
By the very same ones they supported,
At the expense of their own inhumanity.

I am in total agreement with your assessment.
But do not believe,
I am here empathetic and prepared to embrace your pain.
I've already been numbed by your reaction to mine.
I see nothing in that to aid my benefit with gain.

Like I said...
I am in total agreement with your assessment.
It is so vivid.
As if I'm still living it with too much acceptance.

I Didn't Express That Assessment

I will never find you trustworthy.

'Why?
Because I have the right to change my mind,
When I decide?
And I am not concrete in any decision I make,
To declare I've made one to keep?
And I have never did anything to prove I have integrity? '

That's my feeling about you exactly.

'Well...
Everyone has a right to express their own opinion.
Even though I may not agree to that assessment,
You have of me.'

Remember...
I didn't express that assessment.
You just made it easier not to argue with you.

This Is Going To Be A Long Ride

My observations are never premeditated.
With a plan to only accept that which I believe.
I experience a witnessing,
As a student willing to learn.
I take notes whether mental or written.
And free myself from regurgitating quotes,
To whisper into ears to then leave.

I'm not like that.

What I describe is viewed with my eyes.
And what I hear is seldom my own sentiments.
Although when I see something that should be clear,
But to others it is not as it appears...
I wonder when my delusions have ended.
And how many conscious aren't aware when they start.

I'm not like that either.

Could we all be confused,
And refuse to accept we've been abused and neglected...
By our own delusions?
Could we all be wishing what we witness isn't what it is.
To admit what is does exist without the benefit of our wishes?
Could my observations perceived as not being premeditated,
Be, in fact, a comforting of a trap...
My mind extends to enhance my comprehension?

Or...
Could I just be needing rest and have yet to confess,
I can use as much of it as I can get?

'Yes! '

I'm sorry.
I am having a personal self assessment.
Am I disturbing you?

'Yes.
I am hoping your 'self-assessment'...
Soon ends as to not to further prolong,
My 'already' too long bus ride.
But who knows...
Maybe I am confused AND deluded! '

I apologize.
I didn't realize I was speaking that loudly.

'No problem.
I do the same thing myself.
At home.
Alone.
When I'm seeking an intelligent conversation.'

Oh.
I agree with you.
This is going to be a long ride.

Surgical Strike

Its lonely in the field
That we send our fighters to wander
They leave with minds of steel
Its their training solution
Weve programmed the way
It leads us to order
Theres no turning back
A surgical strike
Weve taught them not to feel
Performance is their task
A surgical strike
Its time is arriving now for you
The plan for the day
Will be swift as the lightning they harness
The atom display is not mindless illusion
At master control, assessment will not
Be by humans-theres no turning back
A surgical strike
Weve taught them not to feel
Performance is their task
A surgical strike
Its time is arriving now for you

Quarterly Review (Revised)

Did not sing in key, made so many mistakes, changed
the wrong things, did not find musical tonality required,
missed references, inserted others that should have
been left out

In spite of a new system inhibitor to prevent too much
adrenaline in my central nervous system, I still lost the
plot, can't continue translating, feeling bad with a
headache, my mind confused

I want so much to be an asset to our team but my dream
is in abeyance - ‘Wanting is a good thing' my guru says,
but it did not help me to do my work well and present a
neatly finished assessment document

The worst is the feeling of being a criminal

Here to Give

I am here to give.
Not wallow away,
In your solicitation...
To be understood for 'your' insecurities.
While you self indulge,
Seeking opportunities...
To feed more of your greed.

Or subject myself to listening to testimonies,
Of how your needs are not being met to please...
More of your selfishness.

I am here to give.
And feel blessed...
I am not caught up,
In attempts to make impressions.

'But you ain't got a penny and your pocket.
Or a bucket to carry anything claimed you own.'

Who is to say I was the one needing those things?
And someone else didn't?

Like I said...
I am here to give.
And not to impress...
You or anybody else,
In the doing of what it is 'I' do!

Does that provide you with a hint or a clue,
As to how I feel about your assessment made of me?

I Was A Fandango

What did I see in you,
Was it love or otherwise,
The evaluation of my eyes,
The assessment of my mind,
And analysis of my heart,
So wrong and blatant,
Loving you was a fandango

What did you give to me,
I thought I was home with you,
Yet so much home alone,
Your presence an ideal absence,
I regret meeting such,
Needing you was a fandango

Were you down enough for me,
Maybe so much far away from me,
Were you the one to love,
Maybe I was the one to hurt,
I wanted you more and more,
Wanting you was a fandango

Did we reach for the stars,
Why did I think you were my star,
So counterfeit and cosmetic your attitude
Yet I built castles for you, you alone,
Not in the air but in the fertile lands
I admired you more and more,
Admiring you was a fandango

I gave up my life for you,
You gave up my life for yourself,
I was left in pool of misfortune,
Trapped in you valley of omen,
I cherished all we had,
Cherishing such was a fandango

Smelling Salts

Why do the people with the least intelligence,
Get the most attention?
This is a trick question,
Isn't it?
Are you filming a 'Reality Show'?
Where are the cameras?

'There are not cameras,
I am serious.
Why do you think,
Those of intelligence are the least admired?
And they may be highly qualified too.
But they seem the last to be hired.'

Well...
Let's agree on this.
Look around you.
How much of what 'you' observe,
Is a result of displaying collective competence?

'Can you be more specific? '

I'll try.
But I don't want to blow my cover.
Being considered a fool has gotten me by.
However...
I will offer this as an hypothesis.

'Sure, go ahead.'

If you were in business,
Of selling a commodity or a message.
And you were doing that,
For the purposes of earning money?
Would you just choose to sell to those of intelligence?
Or...
Would you care less who had the money?
As long as your needs were met and addressed?

'But that would not lead to a fair assessment.'

A 'fair' what?
ASSESSMENT?
Here.
Take this. It's free.
And on me.
However...
If for any reason you decide you would like to franchise?
I'll have to charge you a franchise fee.

'What is this? '

Smelling salts!
And trust me...
You have just proven there is a fortune to be made,
In the selling of it.

The me in me

The me in me

The me in me
Feels, sees, hears, touches, speaks
And does all that I do
At the same time
The me in me
Becomes joyful or otherwise
Pleased or otherwise
Enthused or otherwise
Depending on its assessment
Of the event occurred
Or the situation in which I am

The me in me
Is my friend and my enemy too
It consoles me when I feel I am in trouble
And cajoles me when I am hesitant
It cheers me up and jeers me as well
It judges on people, things and happenings
And drives me to act
On the basis of its evaluation

Of late, I am of the opinion
That I have been taken for ride by
This me in me
And I need to stop it somewhere
I started requesting
The me in me
To free me of its clutches
And it says
It is upto you to go free
Or to stay locked up in me

I am unable
I am undone
I am bonded

I long for freedom from
The me in me

Others Who Have Donated

Fatal dispositions taken,
To examine one's life to compare...
With a measuring of things,
Blinging and with a sparkle that dazzles.
Produces in the minds of those controlled,
An acceptance one is made to feel...
In the 'loop'.
And this 'togetherness' is more important...
Than that life one says is wished,
To live with a happiness one claims to have earned.

And when this happens...
An assessment of one's life,
Seems to yearn to depreciate a valued life experience.
To exchanged for a temporary life glistening in pretense.
And doing everything one can,
To keep 'good' credit kept.
With...
A preferred rating met to match,
Others attracted who have donated with a depositing,
All of their common sense.

Defects Affect

When a history kept,
Is left to be repeated.
And it becomes a comfort that sets,
Within mindsets to identify as not needing...
To assess and correct.
Because it is perceived to be the best yet.
That history kept,
With thoughts of it being better left as is...
As defects affect,
Fails...
From the lack of self assessment.
And can only achieve defeat.
To leave a disbelief,
Successfully chasing...
Concepts held together by those deluded.

Something To Do Was Payment Enough

You say you work to have 'stuff' and things.
Things for you that make your life more meaningful.
And you believe those denied,
Should be classified as lazy.
Since they do not use initiative...
To recognize or create their own opportunities that await.

Yet there is something missing from your assessment!

'Oh yeah?
Like what? '

You and others like you,
Have successfully blocked all their avenues to progress.

That's not true,
When my ancestors arrived...
They spoke not a word of English.
And immediately on the South Side of the city...
They were inspired to open several pizza parlors.
And my grandfather once told us...
None of those folks wanted to work for him.
And he offered them FREE pizza too!

'How much did he offer to pay them? '

Hey...
In those days,
Having something to do was payment enough!
That's what's wrong with them now...
Their expectations are too high!
