A Hundred Spells
Turandot, Puccini’s opera, told by stylised illustrations in a book
the heart of an Ice Princess frozen by the Moon Goddess, three
riddles posed to every Prince who wished to be her suitor on pain
of death if he could not get the answers right, beheaded by
imperial gesture of the shimmering beauty
Another Prince intrigued by the Princess, the first riddle: Every
night it soars anew, every day it dies - Hope, he replied; Illusion
said the Princess cold - the second riddle: Dream and the flame
flares anew - It is my blood that burns within with love for you,
answered the Prince - the third riddle: What is ice
that gives you fire - You cast a hundred spells - he sighed, The
answer is Turandot; he won the challenge, but would not marry
her against her will, set her one riddle - Say my name, made
her a gift of it to doom them both if she named him, then she
declared LOVE to be the stranger’s name
Chose to marry the strange Prince who by being brave and
generous won her respect; she despised all others but
feared him, cried her first tears - Conquer you or be
conquered – an enchanting Persian tale from A

Love And Be Loved
The Princess was given a gift;
she would love and be loved
her whole life long, when the
evil fairy came with her curse
to the christening, saying the
Princess would be turned out
of her kingdom; she could not
take away the gift of love
Though the curse was fulfilled,
the Princess lost her kingdom,
love went with her in the form
of a Prince turned into a Hedge-
hog who loved the Princess
more than life; the Princess
grew to love the Hedgehog
also and her kiss revealed
Her love to him, turned him back
into a Prince; all the evil fairy had
done was to make sure that the
Princess had an adventurous life,
married her true love who had laid
down his life to save hers when he
became a Hedgehog to serve…

Disney Story
(written from a male perspective)
You say you’re Cinderella
Or so you want to be
Does this mean that you’ve found
You Prince Charming in me?
You also say you’re Jasmine
So Princess please be mine
A whole new world I’ll show you
A world of love divine
Your favorite is Tinkerbell
So I’ll be Peter Pan
Together we can fly away
Off to Neverland
And if you’re Sleeping Beauty
Then I will be the one
To kiss your lips, open your eyes
And fill your life with sun
And if I was the Beast
And your name was Belle
I know that I could count on you
To free me from the spell
And if I was Prince Eric
Would you come with me?
As my Ariel I would show you
A love deeper than the sea
Just like a Disney tale
Filled all with love and laughter
You and I will be together
Happily ever after
So tell me your desires
I’ll make your dreams come true
A life of happiness
Princess, I’ll share with you
Please be my Princess
And your Prince I will be
Together we can live
Our own Disney story

Journey To The Kingdom Of Dark Prince(Sun Princess-VI)
The Princess awe-stuck asked the Dark-prince at once
'But how could you reach our kingdom as my horse? '
'In Wizi-quizy -witchy fair, your court sorceress,
bought me though, I couldn't tell her as days were worse!
Told the Prince and pleaded princess to touch him then,
with her magic wand, to turn him to, the large-winged bird.
Princess, felt very ashamed, how could she ride on his back?
The Prince laughed, and said -'Princess, I'm your guard.
But I need you to dispel the dark-spell of evil wizard.
My parents are captivated in his prison, under his spell.
We have to get before night falls, with all black-art.
Touch, touch me with your magic stick without any fail.'
Reluctantly, Princess did so, and rode on the mythical bird.
They whispered all the way and the prince told how did he,
fall in love with the princess since he saw her in her realm!
Then the princess said, 'O, O my prince! 'ashamed was she!
As they were going near Dark-realm, the light of the sun was
Fading out, fading out and fading out, the vista thus changed.
The woods, rivers, seas and hills lost their color natural...
Only black, and black and black, also darkness there reigned.
The prince in form of bird, could not keep his wings opened.
Rewinding wings meant, going down, down, to earth's surface.
Princess, told to land him soon, in any place which may be safe.
They darted down near a den, occupied by a primordial lioness.
She rushed roaring but the princess then sprinkled the love ray
calling her-'Dear, lioness, we are the guest of Dark-realm,
come and greet him with honor, and show us king's palace's way.'
The lioness said with tearful eyes, 'My husband is no more king
of kingdom, the Black Magician has made us animal'she did say.

For All Princesses
Of being a fairytale princess; every little girl has dreams
So real to them, it all really seems
By her mean stepmother, Cinderella was made to work so hard every day
Her fairy godmother helped her out in the best possible way
She met her handsome prince charming at the ball
Losing her glass slipper; on the ladies of the land; he had to call
Everyone of them tried it on their foot
She became a princess without her soot
Snow White cleaned the house for the seven dwarfs in the wood
The wicked queen tried the poison apple trick to kill her; if she could
Into a deep sleep Snow White drifted
From her side the loyal little men; never shifted
Along came her prince; with a kiss awakened her
Living happily ever after; they all were
To prick her finger on a spinning wheel, an evil fairy made
Princess Aurora for one hundred years; asleep, stayed
To break the spell; a good fairy tried
After a great length of time; her prince was by her side
He had broken through the tanglement of branches; that did surround
The castle everywhere
Then he saw sleeping beauty lying there
A princess in a long white gown
On his knee and bending down
Her lips with his; the prince did touch softly
He stepped back; awake, was she
Rejoicement went throughout the land
The prince and princess together did stand
All these fairytale princesses had so many trials to go through
Before their wishes came true
Even the princess who on a mountain of mattresses had to sleep
Her awake all night, this did keep
She proved that she was a princess with a delicate skin; absolutely
As under all the heap of foam was a little pea
My daughter Sarah is a princess to me
That's how it will always be

The Princess and the Frog
A princess was out for her morning jog
When, by the pond, she met a frog.
She grabbed the poor thing by its head:
”It might turn into a prince! ” she said.
She closed her eyes and made a wish,
Then gave the frog a sloppy kiss.
The Princess counted One, Two, Three...
And opened up her eyes to see.
In a blinding flash and clouds of smoke,
The frog became a handsome bloke.
He stared at the princess in dismay
Then turned and ran the other way.
”Wait, my darling. Please! “ she cried.
The handsome prince to her replied:
”Go stick your head in the palace bogs -
”I hate a girl who kisses frogs! ”

Living on a Hope
Living on a hope
Looking through blind eyes
Whispers on a silent night
Which fall on deaf ears
As the shattering rain drops
Lull me to sleep
It’s not what I’ve dreamed of
But what it really is
Distant memories of what used to be
Current memories of present times
Written on the clouds above
This is beyond, so unpleasant
Maybe not all that glitters is gold
Awaiting the fair princess
The felling of her hand on my face
So pail (in color) and cold (in feeling)
Lips touch lips and breaths intertwine
Emotionally unstable is the prince
Who is now a frog
Why the pain and misery
What lures the creature into a beast
What fuels the emotion into sheer tears
Questions remain unanswered
As the night alls to a halt
Well the frog may be the prince
But what is the princess
Pray for the prince as the battle never ends
Since what you see is a prince battle hate over love
A romance which may never end
Or should have never started in the first place
Draw your courage and fight for what you believe in
And always let your heart lead the way
Through a strong but definite mind.

The Regret Of The Snow Princess
i do not know if you have heard
about the story of the snow princess
who is destined to be paired to the
spring prince and come valentine's
day they are set for a date in that
castle cloud inside the love garden
it is said the snow princess has nothing
to tell coz that night the spring prince
only pinched her ears, no piercing ever
happened, and summer may not come
joyously and earlier as you expect it to be.

Love Triangle: Fairy Tale
You still dream about fairy tale
When princess meets her true love
I’m willingly to give my life for you
But what I’ve got is just unrequited story
Why can’t you feel?
It will be me, me
That sacrifices my soul to make you happy
It will be me, me
That saves you from the dragon
But I’m just your knight
You are destiny to fall to a prince
Your innocence makes you clueless
It’s a dear but also my desperation
How you will never realize
What you unconsciously do to my heart
Why can’t you see?
It is me, me
That wants you to smile only for me
It is me, me
That always looks after you secretly
Though I’m your prince
It seems I couldn’t separate you from your knight
Everyone says I’m a lucky girl
Till they envy me and starts to hate
I can’t deny my own feeling
But they always force me to choose
Why can’t you find?
It will be me, me
That could see clearly behind facade
It is me, me
That has the power to make everything on the right way
Maybe I’m the princess
But who says I’m the only one that should be happily ever after

The dress rehearsal
When the velvet curtain calls the dim lights came up
And he pushed ahead to the middle of the stage in the rotunda theatre.
He became the crown prince and the crown princess waited aside
with her new netting costume.
The happy audience clapped and whistled.
When the interval bell rang the prince went to the rest room for a make up.
'Hey! My naughty darling sleepwalker;
I couldn't sleep the whole night, please get ready to see the psychiatrist again in the morning.' His wife grumbled.
'Nobody knows that I was a crown prince once.' he muttered himself.

Frozen With Flowers (Revision)
Sitting among flowers burning with joy
of life - even the small purple ones have
yellow hearts, orange flowers seem warm
Yet it feels as if they are frozen as I sit in
the cold, then the dream - an Ice Princess
sitting atop a glass mountain
They're her only reminders of the real world,
a heroine and a prince will not come, for
all eternity the Princess sits among frozen
Beauty of long ago with ice-covered flowers
from when she still believed an inner world
of love could be realised by wishing for it
They are frozen tokens to keep her company,
she is happy, the ardent longing to find ideals
and fight for them have also been
Frozen with flowers...

True love never dies
Fiddle the riddle
Wiggle with the riddle
For true love never dies
Except those empty white lies
Love never says goodbye
It just flies
Low and high
Fiddle the riddle
Wiggle with the riddle
Perhaps you can unfold
The puzzle of true love not told
The love I know may sometimes fizzle
Then sparkle with the eye of a twinkle
After wear out like an ageless wrinkle
So I hear your cry and with you I sigh
True love itself never dies
True love never says goodbye
True love never tells a lie
True love never asks the reason why
It just flies and flies and flies and flies
Or it flies past you by

Princess And The Black Horse-V(The Journey To Dark Prince's Realm-I)
They took care of the ill dragon, Mastero was his name.
He slept until, the sun came out by breaking night's curtain.
Blackberry then, with wings flapping told princess to depart.
Dragon listening her misery gifted Sword with power certain.
If A honest, brave lady twice stir that sword of light,
No darkness could touch her, no black art would act ever.
Then he gave her, a magic pot which was of Belgian glass,
It could grab all evil soul, and it would work never!
Promising to come back soon, princess took part from him,
Getting out from the cave, they saw, his kin-dragons coming...
Princess told, to care of him and rode on Black-berry's back.
It was a fine morning, the cool breeze, kissed her touching.
The Princess felt, was Blackberry a mere horse or somebody?
His every act already proved him as having special Ex-Power.
After sometime, they reached the river of the Reminiscence.
Blackberry, bathed in water of that river for a nice shower.
In other part, the Princess, then was seeing in water-mirror.
Her conch-white face was looking bright, locks swaying in air.
what that noise made her look, and what there was going on?
Who he was there in dazzling robes, and dressed with so much care?
'Hey, Ho! Who Art thou? '-she asked and rushed to him.
Where was her Blackberry dear, no trace of there of Blackberry.
'Do You want me? '-asked the Man in dark-black prince apparel.
'No, no, I just want to see my horse-bird' replied quickly she.
'O, my Princess, don't be afraid, I'm your favorite horse-bird,
I had been in oblivion, under the spell of Persian Magician.
Now, bathing after, in this river, I got back my lost memory.
You may call me the Dark-prince, my kingdom is my destination.'

Goody, Goody Giddiness
I feel a giddiness that’s goody, goody,
but cannot sing like Turandot
about it when awarded with a woody,
because to do so would be not
polite unless the gal who brought my woody on
would join me in my aria,
approving of me as no jerk but John
who’s unprepared to marry her.
Inspired by Anthony Tommasini’s review of the new Metropolitan Opera production of Puccini’s Turandot, with Lise Lindstrom singing the title part, Marcello Giordani taking the part of Prince Calàf and Marina Poplavskaya as Liù (“He’s Come to Melt the Heart of an Ice Princess, ” NYT, October 30,2009) :
Though Ms. Lindstrom may not have the biggest Turandot voice, she sang with chilling power and nailed the top notes. Her sound was impressively focused, with a vibrant vibrato on sustained tones and no wobble. The youthful shimmer of her singing was balanced by rich emotional maturity. Yet there was often a hard edge to her sound, not quite strident but close. Whether this coloring is simply a characteristic of her voice or a sign of strain for a singer in her early 40s is the question. Her performance was strong. But I worry about her future. After Act II, when Ms. Lindstrom took her first curtain call and was greeted by a lusty ovation, she certainly broke character, jumping in place, clapping her hands with “goody, goody” giddiness, looking like the California gal that, after all, she is. It was hard to adjust my perception of her for Act III….The most complete performance came from the elegant Russian soprano Marina Poplavskaya as Liù, the slave girl devoted to Timur and in love with Calàf. She sang with warmth, beautifully earthy colorings and captivating pianissimo high notes. And Zeffirelli fans mourning the retirement of his “Tosca” production can flock to the biggest, grandest Zeffirelli show of them all.

Shadow Dream Song
I meant to call her name
I meant to take her hand
I meant to be the same and understand
Just what was happening in the evening
Between the princess and the prince
I cant be bothered now
And I cant eat or drink
I cant remember how I used to think
What was the song she sang before the morning rang
Bringing the princess to the prince
Its a crystal ringing way
She has about her in the day
But shes a laughing dappled shadow
Shes a laughing dappled shadow in my night
If I could hear her voice
If I could see her face
If I could have my choice Id be in the place
Where I saw her last on the evening past
Of the princess and the prince
Its a crystal ringing way
She has about her in the day
But shes a laughing dappled shadow
Shes a laughing dappled shadow in my night

Princess And The Black Horse-VIII(Fight Between The Good And Evil)
In the den then what happened, four
of them came close, and all spoke low.
The Prince told them, how to use the
power the princess had, and she did show.
The queen, also had a Conch which could,
tell, the distance of a foe, whereabouts
of him, in river, seas, and in oceans he be,
it could clearly would say, beyond all doubts.
There was darkness everywhere, though the sun
wasn't under veil, the light was barred there,
to play the art of black art, to spread it among,
the commoners' mind for long, layer after layer.
The queen took the conch near her ear and asked,
'O, my Conch, tell me dear, my enemies of enemy how far? '
A twinkling sound rang in the Conch, and came out,
a voice saying, ' He is now in his castle, not go for war.'
Hesitatingly, the Prince then, told' But, in dark realm
will your wand play magic, now O, O princess, tell us soon.'
'Yes, yes, O prince, if I stir it three times at once,
it will work, and will dispel, the darkness now as a boon!

Princess And The Black Horse(Final Fight-I)
And they decided to start the fight at midnight,
as the wand would work then with brilliant spark.
To unriddle the mystery of dark reign of magician,
they had to kindle the light, to annihilate power dark.
Evening called night, and night sat with blackness,
and darkest became the kingdom of prince's father.
The princess, promised to call him, prince of light,
as dark denotes, night, blackness, evil power, rather.
The King opened a box of story, which told princess,
theirs was the kingdom of Light, full of peace, gay.
It was said, the sun never sets in his happy kingdom.
But, a magician came to that king's court one day.
He played trick of black magic, and covered the sun,
blocking the rays of the sun, he set his own reign.
By his power of witchery, he made the king a lion,
turning queen, to lioness, the prince a horse in chain.
Insidious was he, sold the prince in a witch-fair.
Sordid was his mind, without hesitation he became king.
In the unknown realm the prince as a dark horse,
was bought from the fair, and in king's stable did bring.
