Shattered Dreams
A young lad
Lay on the floor,
Wrapped in a white sheet
A smile playing on the lips.
Serene, at peace.
The dog whined at his feet,
Parents sat on either side,
Tears streaming down their cheeks.
Swollen eyes,
Aged by grief
Overnight.
Watching in disbelief,
Could
It be just a bad dream,
Or
The naughty son
Playing a practical joke
In his inimitable style,
Just to provoke.
A gust of wind
Blows in the autumn leaves,
Shattering a glass
To pieces,
Breaking
The silence and the reverie.
Another day is born,
The clock strikes.
Dreams wiped out in
An instant
By a drunken driver’s
Error of judgement.
Those who live
Must go on

shattering fast
i'm glass, i'm glass
i'm shattering fast
i'm glass, i'm glass
i'm shattering, shattering
glass, glass, glass
i'm shattering fast
i'm glass, i'm glass
i've got a lot of tears
in a blood-stained jar
it's been a real long time
since i walked the fine line
you put up the walls
you put up the walls
hold all my calls
i'll be by the pool
won't you please
worship me
won't you love
what i adore
all alone
in my soul
i betrayed
rock and roll
rock and roll

rock and roll
everybody knows i'm last, i'm last

A Gust Of Love
My heart a window your love passes through
flying open as your love's wind blew
breaking, shattering glass into pieces
your love passes through as my pang increases.
When the wind is gone, with all of love's gust
I pick up the pieces of its broken trust
cutting my hands they slowly bleed
another gust of love is all I need...

The Nurse's Watch
From 'The Boy's Wonderhorn'
The moon it shines,
My darling whines;
The clock strikes twelve:--God cheer
The sick both far and near.
God knoweth all;
Mousy nibbles in the wall;
The clock strikes one:--like day,
Dreams o'er thy pillow play.
The matin-bell
Wakes the nun in convent cell;
The clock strikes two:--they go
To choir in a row.
The wind it blows,
The cock he crows;
The clock strikes three:--the wagoner
In his straw bed begins to stir.
The steed he paws the floor,
Creaks the stable door;
The clock strikes four:--'tis plain
The coachman sifts his grain.
The swallow's laugh the still air shakes,
The sun awakes;
The clock strikes five:--the traveler must be gone,
He puts his stockings on.
The hen is clacking,
The ducks are quacking;
The clock strikes six:--awake, arise,
Thou lazy hag; come, ope thy eyes.
Quick to the baker's run;
The rolls are done;
The clock strikes seven:--
'Tis time the milk were in the oven.
Put in some butter, do,
And some fine sugar, too;
The clock strikes eight:--
Now bring my baby's porridge straight.

A New Dream I Never Had: Revised
When the clock strikes 11: 11 I wish
When the clock strikes 12 I dream
At 1 I’m in love.
At 1 were together
Miles apart and yet together in our dreams
Beyond the highest cloud
Past the sun and the stars itself
In a world all of our own
We hold each other and dance
The beats go fast and slow as her voice goes high and low.
I never want this to end, just to dance forever
Staring straight into those lovely eyes
To have the touch of her soft lips on mine
To have he scent of her hair all around us
And the smile I want to lose myself in
She will never frown because she knows that I might die
But we notice our last moments and must end the night well
As our clocks strikes 6 and the must dream end
I fly back to my home
And she to hers
I don’t worry though
I’ll see her at 10 again
At 10 I’ll be lost in her smile
Wishing for the touch of her soft lips
And forever staring into those lovely eyes
Will I be able to hold her?
Will she dance with me?
We will have no music
Everyone will watch as she holds her hands inside mine
Now at 11: 11 I don’t need to wish
Now at 12 I don’t have to dream
At 1 we’ll be together
But for right now I’ll live in the moment
Because I’m holding her tightly
And never letting go
As she sings her song that plays high and low
The moon is our light
The trees our witness
The grass the dance floor
As I hold her she may not yet know
I am there for her
If she calls for me I will come running
She has not yet learned no matter what
Broken or dying
I will always come back
This is my promise
This is my swear
I shall be her sword and shield
Only if she needs me there
Katie my girl
Katie my sweet
I typed this poem
After dancing off my feet
The dream I had was beyond compare
You were beautiful
And I was there
You only laughed at me once
When I tripped on a leaf
I grimaced only once but I found relief
Because I saw that smile
The only smile that can save a life
It healed my leg and I jumped up back on my feet
And we continued to dance to a very gentle beat
This poem may seem corny
And you’re probably tired of hearing this line
But “honey I love you, if you love me will
You please smile for me”
So I can see your face and you can see mine.

A Wind From... Elsewhere
The wind blows here... the wind blows there
The wind seems to blow from... everywhere.
But the wind I love... when it blows... blows fair...
This wind... when it blows... blows from... ELSEWHERE! Can you see its graceful fingers... playing in your hair?
Nay! You cannot see the wind... e'en though you know it's there.
It's flitting... it's flirting... it's prancing everywhere
This wind... when it blows... blows from... ELSEWHERE! It blows unexpectedly... with a gentle breeze... it blows...
The Great Hand of Miracles... brings it... then it goes
To greet the early morning sun... to dance to and fro
From the highest, loftiest mountain heights... to valleys... far below. 'Who is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth...
Who gathereth the winds in his fists—Who maketh a wind to pass over...
Thou hearest the sound thereof...
But canst not tell whence it cometh... and wither it goeth.' The wind blows here... the wind blows there...
The wind seems to blow... from everywhere.
But the wind I love... when it blows... blows fair—
This wind... when it blows... blows from... ELSEWHERE!

Life's Purpose
I can hear people singing- beautiful melodies,
Upbeat and tuneful- I sing along-
I sing alone except for the company of
The comrades who live inside
The fortress of my mind.
I can hear raindrops splashing
Rhythmically onto the pavement outside, as
A cool breeze creeps through
An open crack in my bedroom window- I realize that
This is the autumn I have been waiting for.
Foliage on the trees changing color,
Skies are darkening- although it is only 6 PM-
I walked in the woods this morning amongst
Deer, squirrels and mallard ducks- as
The sun was just rising
I believed I was the queen of the forest.
However, right now my heart has become an empty cage,
Darkness will rule in less than an hour, and
Darkness succumbs early within the next six months,
Taking over the sky, as a black cloud
Has just taken over my mind, suddenly as
A gust of wind would do before a storm arrives.
I ask myself- 'What is life's purpose? '
I was born into a desolate world of
A mother who always had a severe death wish and
Was never there for me, and of a father who
Never understood, and tried to ignore
The demons who had taken over my mind at an age so young, and
The voices that plagued my mind as far back as I could remember,
Who still haunt me, although nobody else could hear them calling, and
Nobody else could witness their threats.
I often ask myself 'what do I have to live for? '
Born of parents who abused and misunderstood me, and
I have always been the laughing stock amongst others, if not just feared.
Seemingly in a gust of wind,
My mother and father departed this world some years back,
Leaving me to pick up the pieces of their shattered dreams.
The leaves upon the trees are golden, magenta and orange- some brown-
The air is crisp, cool and refreshing-autumn has always been my favorite season-
I have been left with dreams of my own only I can fulfill,
Although some of these dreams have been lost along the way,
I can see my own sun shining through the clouds and through the early morning's fog.
I feel my strength rising and filling the empty cage that once captured my heart.
My life has been a hurricane of sorts, and I have survived- if there is a god,
I believe I must be one of his chosen.
Beautiful melodies are playing inside of my mind and as I sing along
I am in awe of the magnificence of this wilderness-
I see that this world is a miraculous place and I can also see that in many ways,
The dreams that I have left are being fulfilled- and although in reality
I can never be queen of a forest, inside the world of these dreams I can be, and
As I am alive to be part of this special and extraordinary place,
I can now see that life does have meaning as does each and every moment in time.

Matter is Music. The Atoms Sing.
Matter is music. The atoms sing. A frog
leaps into the water and strings a guitar.
Tree rings like odes in the heartwood of the apple.
The rain breaks like tears into tiny harps.
A gust of stars, a lyric of dust wheeling
into galaxies like symphonies in hydrogen alpha.
And the light, too, playing the flowers
like the stops of a flute, and the leaves
like semi-quavers, and their fruit, like whole notes.
Adagios of colour, bass runs of taste,
and sound the echo of a shape shifting mirror
that touches the light like a lake
touches the moon inseparably playing
on the plectra of its waves like an encore
among lovers mastering each other's bodies
like first violins. Or red-winged blackbirds,
the woodwinds, or the wavelengths of disparate stars
resonating with the eye into lyres, and eagles, and swans.
And me? I'm this voice that's been scored
by time and space to reveal the contours
of a theme interweaving like a melodic river
through the mindscape of a dream in counterpoint.
And I can hear tides in the rush of the wind
breaking in the leaves of the silver Russian olives
and the great sorrows of children who died young
playing in the rain on the syrinx of the columbine.
And strange and eerie from a distant window
I can hear the muted suffering of a song
whose words I know all too well by heart.

Hidden Tears Within
Let the rain roll down the face
Hiding tears of sadness for
Our grief will come to us
Without even asking, playing
Different roles, so when
Comfort deny us pain
They see our faces and will
Know it will come back again
Even if disguised, praying
Amnesia sometimes. Tears
will always warm the songs
Of sorrow, subsiding the silence
Within our hearts, playing
Rhythms of grief.

Playing With Uranium
In for an evening, of lite entertainment
and who would believe you, could worry the neighbor
Come on over to my place, playing with uranium
If it blows up in your face, see you on the other side
Come on over to my place, playing with uranium
Reinvent the human race, you just got the invitation
We go undiscovered, cause people are careless
One way or another, they'll never forget us
Come on over to my place, playing with uranium
If it blows up in your face, see you on the other side
Come on over to my place, playing with uranium
Reinvent the human race, you just got the invitation
Playing with uranium, playing with uranium
Never be the same again
Cause they're playing with uranium,
Playing with uranium, playing with uranium

Remember, it's Me
When raindrops touching your lips
remember, it's me giving you a kiss
When the wind is blowing thru your hair
remember, it's me playing with it
When your eyes are wet
remember, it's me wiping your tears
When the sun tickles and make you smile
remember, it's me telling a joke
When your hand are wet
remember it's me watering the plants
When your body is all relaxed
remember, it's me rocking you to sleep
When you cover yourself with a blanket
remember, it's me keeping you warm
When the moon shines thru the window
remember, it's me protecting you
When the radio is playing
remember, it's me singing our song
When you hve butterflies in your stomach
remember, it's me, telling you he is a good guy
When the phone rings
remember, it's me giving you my blessing

In The Silence Of A Reverie
In the silence of a reverie,
I hear a lonesome whistle call.
The cries of someone wanting
their lover to come back home,
and the sound of anguished voices
from a battlefield far away.
In the silence of a reverie,
I hear a baby cry for its father.
A father who marched to duty
to fight a far off war
and whom will never see
another spring again.
In the silence of a reverie,
I hear the muted cries
of the wailing widows
struggling in the tears of their grief.
I see the white crosses
row upon row is silent cemeteries.
In the silence of a reverie,
I hear a future filled
with the cries of hope and understanding.
A future filled with victories
from the enemies
we hold within our minds.

A Victim of The Unseen Corner of Life
everyday i used to see her,
sitting on the sand,
playing with the dust of dreams..
her loneliness is growing up with her..
the other kids are playing on th field..
her eyes are following them as they run, jump and share fun..
her sad look falls down on the ground..
days went by..
none is there..
next the door..
they are still playing but she.. she.. she is.. where?
my little poor girl!
they hide her
in a tight room,
with her epilepsy,
with that monster

in silence..
12 years old
and the story of her cold
had been told
but they just said (her fate)
NO..!
it's not a fate
to live alone
in that pain...
it's not a fate
to feel nothing
except the four walls...
it's not a fate
to lose her happinness
next that door...
it's not a fate
to have none
by her side...
it's not a fate
to be frightened
in her little age...
it's not a fate
to be different
from the others
to see the future
as mirage...
It Is Not A Fate..!
it's not...!
there is a story behind
this fate;
it's their fault..
their own fault...
as once they killed her peace
before 8 dark scary years...!

A tissue's lament
Once a perfect soft white sheet
Now a crumpled smelly rag
Once a song on a serene windchime
Now a broken chord in a backroom bar
Once innocent wrapped up in my pure white bed
And sheets of a hundred others
On which I rested my angelic head
Hopes smashed
Dreams of serviette fame defeated
Now blown away
Under a barrage of vulgar sneezes
No gentle soft lips to tap and pamper after meals
Only rough hands that grab
With old food long congealed
My hope for better things shattered, scattered torn
My dreams of being a 'Hollywood handkerchief flattened
Alas! never born
Only a snotty nostril symphony plays for me
In inharmonious keys
Once used up, scrunched up, and forgotten,
But still I dream of better things,
If only I' been made from cotton!

Hearts That Love Nature
Hearts that love nature
will be eternaly young,
eternal and immortal
like the nature itself,
which never dies to this
loving, beating heart,
nature that is alive
in the air that we breathe,
in the crowning glory of
the sun rising from
amidst the depths of the horizon;
Nature that is immortal,
the songs of the nightingale
and the cuckoo and the songbird,
will ring out in harmony
for infinite years,
the melody will keep playing
even when dust is created
and destroyed to dust,
hearts that feel nature
will become nature and live on,
amidst the vast sky
of splendour and elegance,
within the deepest corners
of the infinite oceans,
along on the breeze
that blows across this land;
Hearts that love nature
will be eternally young and immortal,
will strive in peace and silence,
the calmness and tranquility,
of merging with mother nature,
born again with
the leaves of new birth,
those fresh blossoms of spring,
whose scent is divine perfume
to this awakening earth,
and our hearts will be one,
playing gently on those meadows
surrounded by diasies that
once intrigued great poets of the past,
and we remain young and
immortal, forever...

Autumn's Grace
The autumn’s dream may keep its dying grace
With flecks and shades of bleeding leaves and yellow.
The cold wind's scorch may wither the green’s space,
When fruits of green a bit more need to mellow.
And autumn’s tear on every leaf perceives
The cold wind, which scorches green so cruelly,
Till glass fleck shade of bleeding yellow leaves
The living world to meet its ground so coolly.
And autumn’s red may silence the bird’s voice,
When shivers of the tree the rain embrace
And nature's hide, having no other choice.
The winter slowly comes showing her white face.

The Great Chance
NOW strikes the hour upon the clock
The black sheep may rebuild the years
May lift the father's pride he broke
And wipe away his mother's tears.
To him, the mark for thrifty scorn;
God hath another chance to give,
Sets in his heart a flame new-born
By which his muddied soul may live.
This is the day of the prodigal,
The decent people's shame and grief,
When he shall make amends for all.
The way to Glory's bloody and brief.
Clean from his baptism, of blood,
New from the fire he springs again,
In shining raiment white and good,
Beyond the wise, home-keeping man.
Somewhere to-night-no tears be shed!-
With shaking hands they turn the sheet
To find his name among the dead,
Flower of the Army and the Fleet.
They tell, with proud and stricken face,
Of his white boyhood far away-
Who talked of trouble or disgrace?
'Our splendid son is dead!' they say.

No Difference
i stared out the window
at the bare frozen limbs
of my favorite old tree...
i closed my eyes...
saw leaves bud forth
and turn green...
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i stared at the young girl
reading at a corner table
i closed my eyes...
and saw an old grandmother
washing dishes with her grandbabies
playing in the floor at her feet...
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw the young man
carrying his son on his shoulders
i closed my eyes...
and saw an old man standing
by his son's casket
draped by a flag...
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw an old man
standing on the corner begging
i closed my eyes...
i saw a young boy
playing ball in the street
laughing and dodging cars
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw a crack head shivering
by an electric heater in a bare apartment
i closed my eyes...
and saw a young a/g student
helping some kid with his math
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw a desperate girl
walking the streets
looking for a john
i closed my eyes...
and saw a young girl's room
stuffed animals on the bed
pictures of her and her daddy on the wall
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw a young man
wild-eyed with fear
in a prison cell
i closed my eyes...
i saw a young boy gone hunting
with his grandpa on thanksgiving morn
with his dog by his side
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i pulled back the veil of time...
knowing, there is no difference!
