Something's gotta give! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Am being sent to, sent to
A fine finishing school
For a refresher course
for a refresher course
In minding Ps and Qs.

So off I am
so off I am
To Swiss embassy
Oft heard they can
Oft heard they can
Turn a clot into a swan.
into a swan...

Once I have a glimpse
I have a glimpse
Of those snow clad hills.
Am bound to, am bound to
forget my lofty mission
Take an instructor and go skiiiiiiiing.

Who cares, who really cares
About disapproval,
There is no way
There is no way
to please people
there will always be reasons

All I ask is to live and let live
Or else something’s gotta give.

Sans People

Will you let me have a glimpse of people?
People on the streets? People sauntering by, people smiling.
People intending to take a right turn,
Suddenly changed the mind and took to the left.
People across the meadows,
Past the shops, cinemas, theatres, Opera houses,
People racing down, people in the cars, bus, tram, train.
How I wish to have a glimpse of them, the procession of people!
Will you let me have a glimpse of them-
Men, women and children in the houses?

Am I to live only with the fluky glimpse of a strip of cloud
Or the streak of sun, penetrating through the chinks of my window?
People, they said are barred out,
I've to live the rest of my life sans people.

A Swan Song(dying sentence)

Remember me, remember my swan song,

I can't re-orient myself,
I can't live it all over again,
I can't re-orient myself,
I can't live that stain of my plastered smile again,

Let this be the last moment,
Let me say the last good-bye,
It won't count anything now,
So let me lay in silence,

Life has treated me well and I have had enough of it,
Lets end this game,
Enough of milling in and out,
Hear my swan song,

And let this end now,
I need to be away,
away from these thorns,
far far away,

Where you'll only see my memories,
my shadows,
my untold stories buried after me,
and my last swan song,

Hear my swan song,
I feel like a fish out of water,
from pillar to post,
fallen back upon,

Let me be buried under sand,
let me give my final test,
I'll never return, its time to sing,
sing my last swan song,

Hear my swan song,
maybe this moment or the other,
my soul would rest in peace,
before disappearing,
let me sing,
sing my swan song,

I only remember now the memory lived in me,
a perfectly encapsulated morsel,
of a good past,
from piebald brush strokes swaying,
to barren now, that I'd become,

As I'll say my last goodbye,
hear my swan song,
because now you'll never hear my voice again,
for ever and ever and ever...

Over The Hills

The old hound wags his shaggy tail,
And I know what he would say:
It's over the hills we'll bound, old hound,
Over the hills, and away.

There's nought for us here save to count the clock,
And hang the head all day:
But over the hills we'll bound, old hound,
Over the hills and away.

Here among men we're like the deer
That yonder is our prey:
So, over the hills we'll bound, old hound,
Over the hills and away.

The hypocrite is master here,
But he's the cock of clay:
So, over the hills we'll bound, old hound,
Over the hills and away.

The women, they shall sigh and smile,
And madden whom they may:
It's over the hills we'll bound, old hound,
Over the hills and away.

Let silly lads in couples run
To pleasure, a wicked fay:
'Tis ours on the heather to bound, old hound,
Over the hills and away.

The torrent glints under the rowan red,
And shakes the bracken spray:
What joy on the heather to bound, old hound,
Over the hills and away.

The sun bursts broad, and the heathery bed
Is purple, and orange, and gray:
Away, and away, we'll bound, old hound,
Over the hills and away.

Am I The Only One Who Cares

(don schlitz,reba mcentire)
Jamie turned 13 tonight
But she didnt blow out the birthday lights
Jamie and her momma had another big fight
She locked herself in her room
She climbed up on her windowsill
Sat and stared at the cars on the street
And listened to her own heart beat
And whispered to the moon
Am I the only one who cares what I do
Cause if Im the only one then who can I turn to
Oh moon can you tell me that its not just me and you
Or am I the only one who cares what I do
The moon said jamie cant you hear yourself
Youre acting like there aint nobody else
Come on girl take a big ole breath
You know what you gotta do
Theres one more thing before I go
A womans been standing at the window below
Searching for the words to let you know
How much she loves you too
And youre not the only one who cares what you do
And Im not the only one that you can turn to
Now jamie please believe me
Its not just me and you
And Im not the only one who cares
She cares too
Jamie heard her mama
Softly knocking at her door
The moon just smiled and whispered
You all dont need me anymore
Im not the only one who cares what you do
And Im not the only one you can tell your troubles to
Ive done the best I can
Now the rest is up to you
And Im not the only one who cares
You both care too
You both care too

Alberta Bound

Oh the prairie lights are burnin bright
The chinook wind is a-movin in
Tomorrow night Ill be alberta bound
Though Ive done the best I could
My old luck aint been so good and
Tomorrow night Ill be alberta bound
No one-eyed man could eer forget
The rocky mountain sunset
Its a pleasure just to be alberta bound
I long to see my next of kin
To know what kind of shape theyre in
Tomorrow night Ill be alberta bound
Alberta bound, alberta bound
Its good to be alberta bound
Alberta bound, alberta bound
Its good to be alberta bound
Oh the skyline of toronto
Is somethin youll get onto
But they say youve got to live there for a while
And if you got the money
You can get yourself a honey
A written guarantee ta make you smile
But its snowin in the city
And the streets and brown and gritty
And I know theres pretty girls all over town
But they never seem ta find me
And the one I left behind me
Is the reason that Ill be alberta bound
Alberta bound, alberta bound
Its good to be alberta bound
Alberta bound, alberta bound
Its good to be alberta bound
Its good to be alberta bound

My mom

My mom is very sweet and always caring.
She worries about me when I am in school.
She makes sure that I get where I am going
On time so that I don't feel like a fool.
She cares whenever I pick on my younger brother.
She cares whenever he or I get hurt.
She cares whenever I score a goal in soccer.
She cares about the buttons on my shirt.

But best of all, my mom loves all of us
Who live with her, both when we're good and bad.
She makes me happy with a hug and kiss
And holds my hand whenever I am sad.

We've Heard It All Before

Einstein, he said, nothings original
Find something new, That's easy for him to say
Took his whole life explaining his theory
Try squeezing your life into 3 minute songs like
"My love, your face is a symphony
You play the strings of my heart
Say that we never shall part
If you say goodbye, then I'll surely die without you"
Oh, we've heard it all before
Oh, we've heard it all before
Don't wanna hear it anymore
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
We've come a long way from mono to stereo
Mozart would freak at the crap on the radio
Hits all produced by computer technology
Stick it in one end, it comes out the other
"My love, your face is a symphony
You play the strings of my heart
Say that we never shall part
If you say goodbye, then I'll surely die without you"
Oh, we've heard it all before
Oh, we've heard it all before
Don't wanna hear it anymore
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
We've heard it, we've heard it (oy)
You plug us in and we regurgitate the hits
Bombard your senses with sound of microchips
Program it digitally into the top five
Brainwash your ears, is it tape or is it live?
Live, live, live, live, live, live, live, live, live
Oh, we've heard it all before, we've heard it, we've heard it
Oh, we've heard it all before, we've heard it, we've heard it
Don't wanna hear it anymore, we've heard it, we've heard it
Oh, we've heard it all before, we've heard it, we've heard it
Oh

Save The Children

(marvin gaye/al cleveland)
I just want to ask a question
Who really cares?
To save a world
A world in despair
Who cares?
Therell come a time, when the world wont be singing
And flowers wont grow, no, bells wont be ringin
But who cares?
Who really cares?
Whos willing to try to save the world
That is destined to die
When I look at the world it fills me with sorrow
Little children today really suffer tomorrow
Oh what a shame, what a sad way to live
All who is to blame, when we cant stop livin
You gotta live, live for life
But let live everybody
Live life for the children
Oh, for the children
You see, we have to save the babies
Save the babies
Save the babies, save the babies
If you wanna love, save the babies
All the children all over the world

Judge Me Not

If you are not attached to your physical form
you wouldn't care what was the norm.
You wouldn't care what people thought of you
because that is not really you which has them confused.
So judge me not and judge not the world
we live in appearance haven't you heard?
So who really cares if your hair is blue?
Who really cares if you have 2 different shoes?
Maybe o.k. if you are in the public eye
Or maybe you could get away with it because
you are setting the style.

Just A Glimpse

Just wait, there's no need to frustrate
Waiting is the best part
I'll see you it's only a matter of time (before i)
I love you, and no one can take that away (still crying)
To prove to you, this isn't just an obsession
(Your soul) lights up inside (scared of my own dreams)
Super imposed (wanting to be free)
You twist the ocean (cry myself to sleep)
It tastes good, to me
Sweet, sour, flavour (still crying)
Your taste, makes, cringe and smile
(Your soul) lights up inside (scared of my own dreams)
Super imposed (starving for release)
You twist the ocean (cry myself to sleep)
It tastes good, to me
Just one more glimpse
Just one more glimpse (please let me in)
Just one more glimpse (scared of my own dreams)
Just one more glimpse (one more glimpse of you)
(if you can help)
Help, help me out,
One more chance, help me out,
One more glimpse, just one glimpse,
Of her face, I am broken...
FOR JUST ONE MORE GLIMPSE
Just one more glimpse (please let me in)
Just one more glimpse (scared of my own dreams)
Just one more glimpse (one more look at you)
Just one more glimpse
(if you care)
JUST ONE GLIMPSE (if you care)
(if you care)

Tell me, O Swan, your ancient tale

Tell me, O Swan, your ancient tale.
From what land do you come,
O Swan? to what shore will you fly?
Where would you take your rest,
O Swan, and what do you seek?

Even this morning, O Swan, awake, arise, follow me!
There is a land where no doubt nor sorrow have rule:
where the terror of Death is no more.
There the woods of spring are a-bloom,
and the fragrant scent 'He is I' is borne on the wind:
There the bee of the heart is deeply immersed,
and desires no other joy.

Stop

Yes its true that I believe
Im weaker than I used to be
I wear my heart out on my sleeve
And I forget the rest of me
Yes theres times Ive been afraid
And theres no harm in that I pray
Cuz Im more frightened everyday
Someone will take the hope I have away
But you gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes I know
But you gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes I know
All the times Ive given in
You fit me like a second skin
And one by one I will begin
To wear you on the days Im feeling thin
But you gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes I know
But you gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes
You gotta give it up
To get off sometimes I know
Youd better stop, stop, stop
Using me up
Youd better stop
Cuz Ive had enough
And Im ready to forget the reasons
That keep me here
Youd better stop, stop, stop
Using me up
Youd better stop
Cuz Ive had enough
And Im ready to forget the reasons
That keep me here

My First Narrative Poem

When he was born,
the stars collapsed,
No one rejoice,
Not even himself.

When he was 3,
The people cry,
If why they give,
Someone like this.

When he was 10,
He's left behind,
& no one cares,
Even if he dies.

When he turned teen,
He learned to live,
Live the life alone,
Coz no one cares.

The time have passed,
No companion,
On his right side,
Even in the left.

He learned to survive,
Survive alone,
In his own way,
People loves him tight.

The Black Swan

When the swans turned my sister into a swan
I would go to the lake, at night, from milking:
The sun would look out through the reeds like a swan,
A swan's red beak; and the beak would open
And inside there was darkness, the stars and the moon.

Out on the lake, a girl would laugh.
"Sister, here is your porridge, sister,"
I would call; and the reeds would whisper,
"Go to sleep, go to sleep, little swan."
My legs were all hard and webbed, and the silky

Hairs of my wings sank away like stars
In the ripples that ran in and out of the reeds:
I heard through the lap and hiss of water
Someone's "Sister . . . sister," far away on the shore,
And then as I opened my beak to answer

I heard my harsh laugh go out to the shore
And saw - saw at last, swimming up from the green
Low mounds of the lake, the white stone swans:
The white, named swans . . . "It is all a dream,"
I whispered, and reached from the down of the pallet

To the lap and hiss of the floor.
And "Sleep, little sister," the swan all sang
From the moon and stars and frogs of the floor.
But the swan my sister called, "Sleep at last, little sister,"
And stroked all night, with a black wing, my wings.

All I Have

I m anxious and distraught for the last few days
Now theres nothing of the sort that makes it all right
This moment I am compelled to go off the deep end
I clutch at every straw , my heart is sinking
I give it one more try, I give it all I can
I never wanted more, I give it one more shot
I give it all I have to make things right
What scope is there left? where is the hope then?
Ive heard it all before when life is measured
A slow and tame despair is inside all of us
Your passionate old dreams sometimes you cry for
I give it one more try, I give it all I can
I never wanted more, I give it all I have
I give it one more shot to make things right
Little else we can cherish, little else is not enough
A glimpse, a glimpse of heaven
How can I see the stars?
As all others do, as all others do
As all others do , as all others do
I give it one more try, I give it all I can
I wont fail once more
Take the bull by the horns
Try my luck once more
To make things right
Again

Earth And The Wedded Woman

I

The shepherd, with his eye on hazy South,
Has told of rain upon the fall of day.
But promise is there none for Susan's drouth,
That he will come, who keeps in dry delay.
The freshest of the village three years gone,
She hangs as the white field-rose hangs short-lived;
And she and Earth are one
In withering unrevived.
Rain! O the glad refresher of the grain!
And welcome waterspouts, had we sweet rain!

II

Ah, what is Marriage, says each pouting maid,
When she who wedded with the soldier hides
At home as good as widowed in the shade,
A lighthouse to the girls that would be brides:
Nor dares to give a lad an ogle, nor
To dream of dancing, but must hang and moan,
Her husband in the war,
And she to lie alone.
Rain! O the glad refresher of the grain!
And welcome waterspouts, had we sweet rain!

III

They have not known; they are not in the stream;
Light as the flying seed-ball is their play,
The silly maids! and happy souls they seem;
Yet Grief would not change fates with such as they.
They have not struck the roots which meet the fires
Beneath, and bind us fast with Earth, to know
The strength of her desires,
The sternness of her woe.
Rain! O the glad refresher of the grain!
And welcome waterspouts, had we sweet rain!

IV

Now, shepherd, see thy word, where without shower
A borderless low blotting Westward spreads.
The hall-clock holds the valley on the hour;
Across an inner chamber thunder treads:
The dead leaf trips, the tree-top swings, the floor
Of dust whirls, dropping lumped: near thunder speaks,
And drives the dames to door,
Their kerchiefs flapped at cheeks.
Rain! O the glad refresher of the grain!
And welcome waterspouts of blessed rain!

V

Through night, with bedroom window wide for air,
Lay Susan tranced to hear all heaven descend:
And gurgling voices came of Earth, and rare,
Past flowerful, breathings, deeper than life's end,
From her heaved breast of sacred common mould;
Whereby this lone-laid wife was moved to feel
Unworded things and old
To her pained heart appeal.
Rain! O the glad refresher of the grain!
And down in deluges of blessed rain!

VI

At morn she stood to live for ear and sight,
Love sky or cloud, or rose or grasses drenched.
A lureful devil, that in glow-worm light
Set languor writhing all its folds, she quenched.
But she would muse when neighbours praised her face,
Her services, and staunchness to her mate:
Knowing by some dim trace,
The change might bear a date.
Rain! O the glad refresher of the grain!
Thrice beauteous is our sunshine after rain!

Live Life

Have you heard about trouble throughout the land
With the fascists and the left wing militants
Out of work executives are killing themselves
And the i.r.a. are killing everybody else
Dont panic, dont lose control
Keep your head, keep ahold
Act normal theres nothing wrong
Stay cool, just carry on
You gotta live life and be yourself
You cant live life for anyone else
You gotta live life thats all you do
Nobody gonna live your life for you
Dont get depressed when you read in the press
About world revolution and social unrest
Try not to panic when you switch on the news
And see crooked politicians and the unemployment queues
Its only life its really fine
So dont you believe all you read in the headlines
Live life see it through
Carry on its all you can do
You gotta live life for yourself, cant live for anyone else
You gotta live life, thats all you do
Nobody gonna live their life for you
Extra verse from long version:
Trendy intellectuals always take action,
For every cause thats ever been in fashion.
Weekend revolutionaries protest and sing
Because theyre dedicated followers of any old thing.
They got every solution for every revolution.
They live in the slums just like the poor people do
But theyd rather sniff coke instead of glue.
Right-wing fascists beat up the blacks,
Then they salute the union jack.
You cant pretent theres nothing wrong,
Its not the end, so just carry on.
Oh, lifes a mother, oh, lifes a mother
Oh, lifes a mother, oh, lifes a mother
You gotta live life for yourself, cant live life for anyone else
You gotta live life, thats all you can do
Nobody gonna live their life for you
Live life, you gotta live life
You gotta live life, you gotta live life
