And What Happened To Those Poets?
Where are you all?
The most popular members over here, whom I read with care?
Has the coldest hand gripped them
Nor have they run into the asylum of living the other way?
I remember the other Canadian and
The one from Antarctic Exploration Team?
They were here with a popularity of over
Of amazing 3500 and Plus hits over a week!
Patrick White, the Emo Girl and Nilakshi`s shadow now triumph..
All the best dear poets.
I remember the British torch bearers who stood ever top for long?
But no Indian except Dr John Celes to stay on.
Titanic Yoonoos and a few lot still write here often
But the rest have begun to flee the forum.
Persian Nightingale from France and Abbha Sharma from Jaipur
Are withdrawn for ever or where are you both?
Here have I fallen too from 968 hits of November 2009
Down to the one below a number never imagined.
Long escape from penning down our thoughts
Has done the job of this alienation.
Many Poets come and go and change their ranks ever
And the newer ones later join the list of the forgotten lot.
These words are addressed to those who crave for
Fame and Name which never stay ever once you keep aloof.
Write on... my chums and peers to keep
The legacy tread the path of no escape for long.

Versatilty
I think that I can claim to be
a poet who is versatile.
I try to write my poetry
in varied form and varied style.
I emulate and imitate
styles of great poets of the past.
To show that I appreciate
poets that time has over cast.
Although long dead their words live on.
A source of inspiration to
poets today.Though they’re long gone
and I give credit where its due.
Although some things I write are new
I cannot trace their origin.
I trust my muse as poets do.
She prods me until I begin.
She tells me there is no such thing
as writers block there cannot be.
A poor excuse for not writing
I’m not allowed to be lazy
That’s something she won’t tolerate
and drags me from my bed to write.
Though I protest the hour is late.
She is insistent that I write.
If she should choose to stay away
I’d seize the opportunity
to simple have a lazy day
Without my conscience pricking me.

(V – 2010) The Poet’s Nature
Reflecting Nature’s various hues
Poets write colourfully.
Echoing Nature’s innate songs
Poets write musically.
Learning from Nature’s righteous laws
Poets write more sensibly.
Drawing from Nature’s spotless love
Poets write more humanely.
Living with Nature’s poetic life
Poets write living poetry.
Can't Escape the Word
Taking a day away from the pen
makes me feel delinquent again
as if to say why do this thing
when to write will most assuredly bring
peace and comfort as you write,
just as the day is comforted by night.
Tried to change and escape the word
but the word followed and I heard
' Pick me up.
I miss your hand.
Don't leave me whilst you play.
There'll be plenty of time for that my dear
on some faraway day '
So tonight you glide easily and I see
word after word appear before me.
Are you comforted now dearest friend?
Will there never be a time to finally end
this union between my thoughts and you?
Will you follow me when my life is through?
Can't escape, so why do I try?
Cannot let the pen ever run dry.
Some day I know the pen will rest
and I will seek another quest.
But I'll always remember the pen.

A GIRL IN DERRY June 19th,2011
A girl in Derry long ago said that I was full of lust,
She was probably right as she left me in the dust,
Said she was going to join a convent the very next week,
I often wonder if that experience was completely unique.
And if perchance she’s still alive, would she remember me,
A Canadian sailor from across the Atlantic sea,
But that was very long ago, even long before the pill,
Before many lovely ladies went crazy but some don’t still.
Is there something I may have missed somewhere along the way?
Lots of things forgotten so I should have kept a dossier,
Or wrote a book about the many people and events,
Could have been a best seller because of the contents.

The Deceased Poets Of Nature
Such beautiful poems to Nature they did write
The poetry we love for to read and recite
May they rest in peace now where-ever they lay
The deceased poets of Nature their poems live today
They glorified Nature and her praises they sung
And though they may be long dead their poems remain young
the poets of the land and the poets of the sea
In their beautiful poetry their greatness we do see
Their poems and their songs I loved as a boy
And their poems and their songs I will always enjoy
The beauty of Nature they did celebrate
And beauty in their words they loved to create.
Great insights of Nature from them we did gain
The beauty of their words with us does remain
We loved them for their poems in decades long gone
The deceased poets of Nature their poems living on.

How Do You Write Poetry
There is a question I am often asked,
of which I have no answer for at all.
The question is a simple one,
how do you write poetry?
To be honest I haven’t got a clue.
With me the words just trickle out
one after the other,
if they rhyme that is great
and if they don’t, I just scratch my head.
I cannot tell anyone how to write,
for me it’s just a natural thing.
I write almost everything,
novels, short stories, poems and songs.
I have even written a couple of plays,
but that was a long, long time ago.
However to tell anyone how to write,
I would not know where to begin.
The answer I give to the question is simple;
write whatever you like good or bad.
It’s yours and be proud of it
no matter what anyone else has to say.
The more you write the better you will get.
However, the most important thing
that you should always remember and that is
that you write, write, and write!

Good Poets and Bad Poets
Some poets get awards and think they are good poets.
Some poets never get awards and think they are bad poets.
Some poets think they are good poets only in their own mind
Some poets think they are bad poets in somebody's else mind.
Some poets think they are good poets in somebody else mind.
Some poets think others think they are good poets but they don't in their hearts.
Some poets think they are good poets in their hearts but not in anyone else's mind.
All are insecure, except those who get security from the opinions of others and that, alas, doesn't last and isn't real.
Some poets have left the entire scene and live only in their mind.
Some poets take criticism and don't mind.
Some poets avoid criticism and do mind.
Some poets write poetry to get love.
Some poets love to write poetry.
Some poets are ahead of their time, in their mind
Some poets spend a lifetime feeling like failures in their mind
Some poets live only after they die.
Some poets have much to say but can't articulate
Some poets retreat, believing others don't understand
So which one of these am I?
I guess I am all of these and none of these
and no matter what my description
I intend to keep doing what I do:
Write. Right

Absolute Necessity
Absolute necessity
Is poetry a luxury or one of life’s necessities?
I have to read, I have to write poetry a pure delight.
Other poets inspire me.Exploring the variety
of forms and styles that I can find, serves to stimulate my mind.
I do not claim to be the best I am just one amongst the rest
of poets posting on the net. Who you remember or forget.
Is poetry a luxury the answer must be NO from me.
To some it seems a waste of time to other folks it is sublime.
You are quite free to make your choice. But I will always raise my voice.
Applauding poets who can write fine poetry that brings delight,
Uplift the hearts of other men, more power to the poet’s pen.

I Write Poems For Poets
I WRITE POEMS FOR POETS
I write poems for poets
Our situation as poets-
The longings the feelings
We so need to express-
The love of language-
The hunger for recognition-
The frequent rejection-
The kind word of a reader that moves-
Poems for poets
We as we each are
All so different-
And we as we share
Words and worlds
We hope to have read.

My Poet Time Travelers
I thought of it all day and well into the night
That for you a poem I would write.
What words can you use to describe a person
You’ve never seen.
Then a realization came into my mind
I’ve been writing them for a very long time.
Every time we write about GOD and his begotten son
The words flow freely and never left undone.
So it matters not if it is sight unseen
We write about everything- it’s a poets dream.
Poets go into worlds never traveled before
Seeking all that GOD has made
And come back with knowledge that they’ve gained.
Into the realms of mystery, love, excitement and fear
So that with you these words they could share.
They see the realities of today
The dreams of yesterdays
The future of tomorrows
And the pains and sorrows.
They are the time travelers of the mind
Their eyes are open - they are not blind.
So when you read what they write
It’s because of this time travelers insight.
So to my time traveling co-poets, this I must say
I am proud to have traveled this road with you
Into the minds of man, and writing
The stories that they all understand.

I Read and Reread/ The Poets I Love
I READ AND REREAD/ THE POETS I LOVE
I read and reread
The poets I love-
I seek new poets
To love poetry more with-
I write my own small poems
And read them again occasionally-
Sometimes I find in them lines
I want to return to
And remember.
If only I could be such a stranger to myself
That I in reading a poem of my own
Would know it belongs to Literature.

Tutorial for David de Santis
I read some poetry today
by long dead poets from the past,
which I enjoyed I have to say.
Their golden words were meant to last
.
Though they long since returned to dust.
The legacy they left behind
for poetry students is a must.
It is as if they were designed.
To act as templates we can use
as we learn to write poetry
It would be foolish to refuse
to benefit from history.
So find a poet you admire
from the past or present day
You might just find his works inspire
you to write a different way.
Experiment with every kind,
free form, free verse, formality
then in due course you’re sure to find
which one of these is your forte
The time you spend to learn the rules
is one investment you must make
Like any trade you need the tools,
Before you can attempt to make
your claim to be a master bard.
The road to fame is long and hard
with very little cash reward.
you have to try, no one is barred.

The Time Has Almost Gone
It's been quite long since i have written a poem
I've almost forgotten how to rhyme
I miss the moments my mind would have flown
To a journey of concepts without time
As i now pick up my pen, i review
All my bygone written compositions
Then for a moment, i try a few
Attempt to write my thoughts into poem translations
I deem, for long without much practicing,
To forgetfullness i have given up my acumen,
How can i write now all the amazing,
Those choices of words to metaphor my fellowmen?
Hand dont fail me, i wish to write more,
To write about anger, silence, God, love and hate,
To write how and why purposes are made for,
To write of endings, farewells, destiny and fate,
So mind, cooperate with my hand,
That i may still bedazzle and touch my readers,
May i still be effective in the message i command,
So i may inspire artists, lovers, and leaders

If I Could Pen One Worthy Lyric
If I knew I had penned one worthy lyric that would outlive me by more than a day
Then I'd be happy at this very minute to give penning of doggerel away
I'd say to myself I've written something of value to call it quits now seems the time
For too long I've put too much effort into penning of doggerel rhyme.
The beautiful song of the shrike thrush in the morning breeze comes to me
He whistles in the nearby Woodlet I know his song though him I can't see
He cares not for fame or for success content in his own territory
His gift of song he'll pass on to his offsprings to insure his immortality.
Around his borders in the breeding season he whistles and sings all day long
His greatest gift from Mother Nature the gift of a beautiful song
His song will live on in his children when from the Woodlet he has gone
If I could pen one worthy lyric my legacy too would live on.
If I could pen one worthy lyric I would gladly give rhyming away
But perhaps I will keep penning doggerel right up until my dying day
In hope of writing something of value that others may read and enjoy
Like the poems of the immortal poets that I read in school as a boy.

All The Same
Remember when I carried that heavy load,
Remember when I fought that long battle,
Remember when the rocks fell on me,
Remember the dying moments my love,
Remember the tragedy that faced me,
Remember you never moved my love,
In the demise of your man you stood still,
Watching me sink and not giving a hand,
Remember the care and concern my love,
Remember when you were sick on bed,
When I ran to you to see you recover,
Remember when I was sick on bed my love,
When you enjoyed and slept to the fullest,
Remember when I missed you my love,
When I came all along to be with you,
Remember when you missed me my love,
When you stayed and never bothered to step,
Remember the days when nights were cold,
When I made a choice to be with you,
Remember when the day was so perfect,
When you made the choice to stay in bed,
Remember the trees that were long standing,
When you thought of cutting them for no reason
Remember the war that approached us,
When we chose to be cowards than warriors,
Remember the water that flowed,
When our hearts did flood within,
Remember the moments I shouted,
When you pretended you were not hearing,
Remember the effort I put my love,
When you never did the same,
All the same my love, I love you

Sweet Surrender
All the miles of glory really nothing to me
It's our love here, we are invisble again
Imagine how it goes, I believe in sweet surrender
And searching for so long, it will stay with me forever
No, I won't ever ask for your surrender
No religion and choruses again
But it won't leave me desolate and angry
Are there no poets in politics again
See the window upon the free world closing slowly
And poor men crawl upon your boney knees again
Imagine how it goes, I believe in sweet surrender
And searching for so long, it will stay with me forever
No, I won't ever ask for your surrender
Holy roller and passion play again
On this day that I don't care to remember
No religion and choruses again
Imagine how it goes, I believe in sweet surrender
I feel lost as a dying rose in embers
No religion and choruses again
No, I won't ever ask for your surrender
Are there no poets in politics again
No, I won't ever ask for your surrender
Holy roller and passion play again
On this day that I don't care to remember
No religion and choruses again

A Poet To Be
A poet I claim not to be,
For words are never there.
In all the years I've tried to write,
I have no words to share.
I sit and think but nothing comes,
No inspiration here.
I want to write of anything,
But still no words I fear.
I read the works of other poets,
I wish I were like them.
How do they write such beautiful lines,
A poet, I'm not him.
I try to write from the heart,
From deep within my soul.
I try to write of the love I have,
But cannot reach my goal.
But why I ask, why can't I write,
Of love so pure and true.
Why can't I write about her eyes,
A mix of green and blue.
I want to write about her smile,
It brightens up my day.
I try to think of anything,
But words I cannot say.
I wish I knew how to write,
A poem with such bliss.
I wish I knew how to describe,
Her soft but tender kiss.
I cannot even begin to write,
How she holds me tight.
How her arms around me,
Makes everything just right.
A poet does not have to think,
The words flow right out.
When I sit and try to write,
I want to scream and shout.
I mean come on, how hard can it be,
To write about her hair.
Such long beautiful natural blonde,
That flows in the air.
I try to write about her laugh,
The words will not fly.
Time passes and finally,
I say it's soft and high.
It's been an hour and a half,
I'm here on verse twelve.
I had to go to Rhymezone,
To find out the rhyme is shelve.
A poet does not do that,
Go online to find a rhyme.
A poet has it in his head,
And can write at any time.
But a poet I am not,
For I cannot write of love.
How the girl I am with,
Is an angel from up above.
How I love her with all my heart,
And want to spend my life with her.
How her love for me is more,
Than I can ever be for sure.
As I draw near the end,
My mind is not so numb.
I realize I've just written of love,
A poet I have become.

I Cant Escape
This song appears on two albums, and was first released on the one world album. it has also been released on the country roads collection album.
Funny thing about this little heart of mine
All the ways that it can say
(I love you)
Longer than forever
Till the end of time
No matter baby come what may
(I love you)
Look at me now sittin all by myself
Face another sleepless night all alone
All I look forward to is lying here living this song
I cant escape thinking every day about you
Cant escape wishing dear you were still mine
Cant escape thinking maybe I still love you
Cant escape caring for you all of the time
Listen to the music on the radio
Top forty hits of yesterday
(I love you)
Leavin on a jet plane
Blowin in the wind
The silly games that people play
(I love you)
Each of them carries your memory still
I can still see that look in your eyes
The one that preceded your kisses and followed your sighs
I cant escape thinking every day about you
Cant escape wishing dear you were still mine
Cant escape thinking maybe I still love you
Cant escape caring for you all of the time
Every rain in the morning reminds me of you
Every night when its cold outside
Every time that I ache inside
(I love you)
(I love you)
Sometimes I wish it was ten years ago
We were starting all over again
Yet the way that I feel is much more than just remembering when
I cant escape thinking every day about you
Cant escape wishing dear you were still mine
Cant escape thinking maybe I still love you
Cant escape caring for you all of the time
All of the time
All of the time

Poets
Poets write
and when the poem is done
they search for words
to write another one.
Poets write
and when the poem is through
they search for thoughts
to write another two.
Such is the life of a poet.

Im Coming Home Again
(roberts / bayer-sager)
Im not as crazy as I used to be
Some of my devils upped and left me free
To find a quiet space
Im not as out of place
Im not as lonely as I was before
I dont go in less theres an open door to leave by
Im starting to believe my own existence has a right to be
And Im comin home again
Its been too long a time
Gettin back whats mine
And I cant remember why I went away
But its lookin now like maybe I can stay
The poets cried for dreams they never saw
The only certainty is nothins sure
And most things stay the same
Or go back where they came
And though my answers still are undefined
By takin chances I can start to find some reasons
Somethin to believe in
I can make it through
I can make it through
And Im comin home again
Its been too long a time
Gettin back whats mine
And I cant remember why I went away
But its lookin now like maybe I can stay
Oh, and Im comin home again
Its been too long a time
Gettin back whats mine
And I cant remember why I went away
But its lookin now like maybe I can stay
