Early Darkness
How can you say
earth should give me joy? Each thing
born is my burden; I cannot succeed
with all of you.
And you would like to dictate to me,
you would like to tell me
who among you is most valuable,
who most resembles me.
And you hold up as an example
the pure life, the detachment
you struggle to acheive--
How can you understand me
when you cannot understand yourselves?
Your memory is not
powerful enough, it will not
reach back far enough--
Never forget you are my children.
You are not suffering because you touched each other
but because you were born,
because you required life
separate from me.

I Understand
I understand your problem
I understand the reason for your tears
I understand what you went through
don't cry because i'm here
I'm here to catch you when you are falling
I'm here to wipe your tears
Be strong
don't let you mistakes lead you
stand and fight for yourself
don't let go
hold on still
i understand how it hurt
i understand how it feels like
get back on your feet
when stumble and fall
i understand
i understand
oh i understand your pain
i understand you went through a lot in life
but remember
be strong, and never give up
I understand

Born In The U. S. A.
Born down in a dead mans town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog thats been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up
Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a.
I was born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
Born in the u.s..a....
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said son if it was up to me
Went down to see my v.a. man
He said son, dont you understand
I had a brother at khe sahn
Fighting off the viet cong
Theyre still there, hes all gone
He had a woman he loved in saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
Im ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run aint got nowhere to go
Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., Im a long gone daddy in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., Im a cool rocking daddy in the u.s.a.

Bless The Wings
Like the rose that blooms in the wintertime
As it reaches up through the snow
The more life keeps apart
The more love will grow
Like the seed that grows in the darkness
As it reaches up to the sun
I will always reach out for you
'cos you are the one
I bless the wings that bring you back to me
Back across the shore
If i could touch you now my darling
And love you just once more
If i could hold you, hold you, hold you,
I know you'd understand,
I know you'd understand.
As i cross the bridge by the waterfall
As i make my way by the stars
There's a shadow walking beside me
Here in my heart
Like the restless wind in the tree tops
Like a whispered voice in my ear
I will always be there for you
I'll always be here
I bless the wings that bring you back to me
Back across the shore
If i could touch you now my darling
And love you just once more
If i could hold you, hold you, hold you,
I know you'd understand,
I know you'd understand.
In a far off wonderland
That flashes past my eyes
The kiss of inspiration that was mine
The dust of many centuries
Has blown across this land
But love will not be scattered by the sand
Like the sunrise over the mountainside
Like the bird that has to be free
There's a part of you that will always be
Part of me
Like the seed that grows in the darkness
I will always reach out for you
'cos you are the one
I bless the wings that bring you back to me
Back across the shore
If i could touch you now my darling
And love you just once more
If i could hold you, hold you, hold you,
I know you'd understand,
I know you'd understand,
I know you'd understand,
I know you'd understand.

Dont Hold Back
(lead vocal - clare torry)
Some are born to lose their heads
And some are born to use them
And some will never know their ends
And some are born to choose them
Dont let your fantasies be blinded by the light
You dont have to save your wildest dreams for the night
Dont hold back, dont hold back, dont hold back, reach out
Touch the sky with your minds eye, dont be afraid to reach out
Some you win and some you lose
And some will bring you sorrow
Some are born to lead the rest
And some are born to follow
Dont rely on miracles to open any door
And dont let a shadow be your guide anymore
Dont hold back, dont hold back, dont hold back, reach out
Touch the sky with your minds eye, dont be afraid to reach out
Ride the wave of destiny
Rise above the crest
And believe everything that happens to you happens for the best
Dont allow the world of men
To turn your head no more
Cause if you cant let yourself go
What are you saving yourself for?
Dont hold back, dont hold back, dont hold back, reach out
Touch the sky with your minds eye, dont be afraid to reach out
Dont let your fantasies be blinded by the light
For you dont have to save your wildest dreams for the night
Dont hold back, dont hold back, dont hold back, reach out
Touch the sky with your minds eye, dont be afraid to reach out

Born Reckless
Written by John Mellencamp
Spend a lot of time tryin' to grow up
Guess I got a lot of growin' up to do
Used to tell me sit down, hey shut up
Guess they don't know what I was goin' through
But I've loved me some girls
And I've broken me some hearts
A cast in Nova in my own right
As I see here watching the sun coming up
I guess it's okay, yea its ok
To say good night
*Born reckless, born reckless
Born reckless (watch the family cry)
Cause I was born to be reckless
Till the day, I die
Well you know, I've been shoved around
Hey, but I've done my share of the shovin' too
I guess you get what you deserve
Yeah you get what's comin' to you
For the life of me, I don't understand
I don't understand, how I ever got you
Someone so warm to hold my hand
When this world has beat me back through
(*Repeat Chorus)
Well what I really want to say is
I guess I don't know, what it is I really wanna say
Anyway the thing is, I'm just surprised
That you're still here with me today
'Cause I've lied and I've cheated
And I've spit in your face
I've taken from you exactly what I need
But I want you to know
There's no one to take your place
How can we embrace love, how can we make love
At such an high rate of speed
(*Repeat Chorus)

Earth Wind & Fire
Maurice white & skip scarborough
Are you satisfied
In your life and time
Does it clear you mind
With all the hurt you find
Built on mother earth
They were meant to stay
Nations bloom today
On gifts of yesterday
Born of the earth, are nature's children
Fed by the wind, the breath of life
Judged by the fiery hands of god
World goes by the hand
Of the master plan
Can't you understand
You're but a grain of sand
Do you need a guide
To make you feel satisfied
Head to the sky
Will tell you why
Born of the earth, are nature's children
Fed by the wind, the breath of life
Judged by the fiery hands of god

This Is Not Your Life
This Is Not Your Life
I don't understand you,
The way you disappear,
You don't understand me,
The way I keep us here.
This is not your life,
I know how to do it on my own,
This is not your life.
We were only children,
But you knew the game,
And you were busy feeling,
That someone had to take the blame.
But I know how you're really,
When no one's around,
We were only children,
Looking to be found.
This is not your life,
I know how to do it on my own.
This is not your life,
I know how to do it on my own.
This is not your life...
Even after the fall,
No one ever seemed to care,
And now you come back to call,
And you want me to be here.
I know how to do it on my own,
This is not your life,
I know how to do it on my own,
This is not your life,
And I know how to do it on my own,
And this is not your life,
I know how to do it on my own,
And this is not your life,
This is not your.

Taught To Fear And Suffer
Taught not born,
To hate.
Taught not born,
To fear.
Taught not born,
To discriminate.
And taught not born,
To jeer.
Taught not born,
To give.
Taught not born,
To take.
Taught not born to be of benefit to others.
But many bigots interfere...
With an infliction of their insecurities,
That smother one another.
Some are taught they are better than most human beings.
With a stunting of their own growth,
In isolated dreams.
And then their are those who confront others,
With obvious legitimate needs.
Ultimately to suffer from these misdeeds.
Taught not born,
To hate.
Taught not born,
To fear.
Taught not born,
To discriminate.
And taught not born,
To jeer.
Taught to greed selfishly!
Taught to deceive and steal like thieves!
And taught to cheat to succeed...
No matter who does the suffering and bleeds.
Taught to fear and suffer.
As a right,
To incite and ignite...
Fear.
As a right,
To incite and ignite...
Suffering,
Inflicted.
As a right to incite and ignite,
Fear!
Taught to fear and suffer.
As a right,
To incite and ignite...
Fear.
As a right,
To incite and ignite...
Suffering,
Inflicted.
As a right to incite and ignite,
Fear!

A Momentous Time Back Upon A Monday In July
The Place Where Be: New York
The Date There Be: The 21st
The Dawn Of New Life
A Newborn Angel Born
To A Sign Astrological In Time
An Astrological Sign That Resembles The Number Year 69
The Year Man First Touch Downed Upon The Moon
Of An Angel On The Rise
Man Reached Out Toward The Skies
When This Angel Came From Heaven
A Birth Timed To Perfection
A Moon Child Synchronous In Birth
To A Walk Of Man Upon The Moon
To Find A Celestial Body Here On Earth
Embodied In A Child Born Of Woman
A Monday's Child So Pure Of Face
Wholesome In Appearance
Born At The End Of A Summer Solstice
Born To The Astrological Sign Of Cancer
To Gaze Up At The Stars
To Find Her Birthed Here On Earth
A True Product Of The Heavens
A True Product Of Perfection
She Was Born Upon A Day
Aligned By The Moon
A Celestial Body Tread Forth Upon By Man
11 Years Prior To The Day To Astonish
Fore Man To Spend Their Lives
In Wait To Reach The Stars
To Find One Here Born On This Earth
A Decade And A Year Thenceforward
A Leap Year Past Toward A Leap Of Time Back
To This Very Day Of Grandeur
Man First Stepped Forth Upon The Moon
Her Very Birth Was Much Grander

Out of the…is Born a …
Out of the mire is born a gorgeous flower;
Out of the noise is born a dead silence;
Out of the storm is born, calm!
Out of the strife is born a pleasant life;
Out of the filth is born flora, fauna;
Out of the chaos is born clarity.
Out of the exercise is born a healthy body;
Out of the training is born wisdom;
Out of the learning is born a scholar!
Out of the confession is born a soul afilled with grace;
Out of the Holy Book is born the word of God;
Out of the prayers is born answers from God!
Out of the rain is born the verdure shoots;
Out of the sun is born the growing plants;
Out of the dawn is born a lovely day;
Out of the dusk is born a quiet night!
Out of the hunger is born an appetite;
Out of the dainty food is born satiety;
Out of the wine is born inebriety.
Out of the fasting is born controlled senses;
Out of the inhibition is born a civilized person;
Out of the nature’s furies is born forbearance;
Out of the war is born a newer peace.
Out of the mistakes done is born a new resolve;
Out of the struggle is born a long-lasting freedom;
Out of the perseverance is born an accomplishment.
Out of the light is born a new day on earth;
Out of the night is born a starry sky;
Out of the dark clouds is born an aureole moon.
Out of the boredom is born a life of joy;
Out of the trials, travail is born a mind of steel;
Out of the woes is born a content heart!
Out of the parent’s love is born a loving child;
Out of the love of God is born forgiveness of sins;
Out of the mercy of God is born a soul for heaven!

They don't understand
They don't understand,
What its like to be me.
They don't understand,
Why school is hard for me.
They don't understand,
Why I'm so skinny.
They don't understand,
Why I have no friends.
They don't understand,
What I need.
They don't understand,
Why I lie.
They don't understand,
Why life is hard.
They don't understand,
What life is like for me.
They don't understand,
Why I hurt.
They don't understand,
Why I have fears.
They don't understand,
Why I'm different.
I don't understand,
Why they don't like me.
I don't understand,
Why they don't except me.
I don't understand,
What they say.
I don't understand,
Why they don't undersatnd,

Taken In My Act
Born of fornication,
Born of adultery,
Taken in the very act of love to teach mankind.
Of men looking like trees and,
The leaven of King Herod;
Come from the tomb and live among the living.
Of women looking like fruits and,
Above the reach of man in a high mountain;
But do come out from the dead and live among human.
To understand this parable needs a thought,
To understand this poem needs a muse,
For the seed you plant is the very harvest you do expect;
Like things seen and heard in times of war.
What type of man are you?
What kind of woman are you?
For a seed is shaken by the wind;
And many are born in fornication and adultery already.
I am taken in my act and you are taken in your acts too,
But there are many stories of man on this earth;
And one day, we all need to be put in order!

Super Hero
Prince
Chorus:
I will be your super hero
But u must understand
If Im 2 be your super hero
U must give me half a chance
Listen 2 my band
I am born unto pverty and fear
I am scorned yet I hold back my tears
Theres so much I can and
Will and want 2 do
But I cannot until I get through 2 u
Chorus
I am lucky if I learn 2 read and write
Where I live u must first learn 2 stand and fight
Im the product of the system, Im aware
Whats my name, dont matter-nobody cares
Chorus
I understand u need me if u ever 2 war
But I dont understand if I buy the goods
Why I cant own the store
Dont tell me that I am not worthy
After 400 years overtime
If its yours then tell me
Why cant it be mine
I am just as good as u or any kind
And theres so much I can
And will and want 2 do
But I cannot until I get through 2 u
Chorus
Give us what u give your brothers
Then ull understand
That I wont be your super hero
Until u give us all u can now-now!

Meaning Of Life
What is the meaning of life
Is it to be born and then to die
To that question once again I have thought
As once again for that answer I have sought.
Just to understand just why we are here
Is it to bring joy and hopefully not a tear
to live strong each and every day
And then every night to kneel and pray.
Is it to see how far that we can go
Or how much knowledge we can place in our soul
Is it to marry and then take a husband or a wife
Or is it just simply to help others with their strife.
As I look out my window and as I do think
Life can either end or begin with just a wink
We are here and then we can be gone
And after all in the end we are all but just one.
Is it just an accident that we are born
Was it an accident that our world was formed
Are there a reason that we are here to stand
Truly I wish to that question I could just understand.
To understand our life and our being
Many have said that research is never ending
As there is no true answer just why we are here
And if there was would our hope and wonder disappear.
As I think to myself could life itself be just a test
To see how far we make it in life's quest.
Where our soul and conscience is the preacher
And then GOD himself is our Teacher.

You're All I Am
I never knew a man would be so lonely
The life of a treated man so wrong
But when the odds were all against me
You gave me the strength to carry on
You gave me a new start, so i will give you my heart
You, you are my life, you're all i am
Only you can understand the way i am
You never give me enough of your love
I need more and more each day
Honey, can't you see the only thing i can be sure of
Is that something real has come my way
Oh, so i believe my heart, though sometimes it tears me apart
You, you are my life, you're all i am
Baby it's you, you are my life, you're all i am
Only you can understand the way i am
You know i live my life for you
You are my life, you're all i am
Ooh baby it's true, you are my life, you're all i am
Only you can understand the way i am

Social Plague
It's a joy in the life of being me
Social changes
The blackest dust can cover their eyes so they can't see
Social stages
The children modify their own monopoly
Social changes
The KKK wants their own STV
Social places
You must understand that I'm made this way
Don't give a damn if you can't change
Your little narrow mind today
I can't wait for the changes
You can't understand my rage
This thing's going on too long
I can't understand it
Social plague now
2000 strong, they back up white supremacy and I can't take it
I can't take it
Can't prove a thing, one day they'll see
That I'm staying
Within this shell there lies a menace to the core
We can't change it
That's the day when there be no more
Social changes

Movements and Sounds
Can you hear that great and powerful sound
That brings shock to the earth and the sky?
There has never been anything so fierce.
I walk on this path seeing the grand journey
But have never heard anything so pure,
It gives a jolt to my heart and brings life.
When have you ever been so fulfilled in life
That your body aches at a simple sound?
The beating of my heart rings fast and pure,
My pounding chest reflects the living sky.
The clouds move swiftly, everlasting journey
To nowhere, they move so vividly fierce.
The wind sings its song, passionate and fierce.
The earth breathes her in and feels a new life.
Inhale and exhale, she’s on her journey
As the earth listens, taking in the sound
That shatters panes, coming from the black sky.
Still there is nothing that could be so pure.
But how can anyone say sounds are pure?
They scream and shout to the earth so fiercely,
Out of reach, elevated in the sky.
Yet, the screams exhilarate my small life
And I smile every time I hear the sound,
I move faster to fulfill my journey.
Step by step my shadow takes its journey
But it does not understand why the pure
Noise exhilarates. Shaken by the sound
Again, my heart stands strong and my bones fierce,
Holding the nerves and blood that brings me life
As my hands reach out toward the vast sky.
“I will cry out loudly, ” said the Sky
“To help your body move for your journey.
I am the great supplier of your life,
I am what makes this earth so calm and pure
Only with a whisper of this loud sound.”
Moving fast, wind and I one, run fiercely.
Hear the penetrating sound from the sky.
You become fierce each step of the journey
And feel ever pure as you welcome new life.

Please take hold of my hand, that

Does It Matter To You
Does it matter to you if God's house is empty and dark?
Do you care it people sleep under a bridge, or in the park?
Is your heart touched by those who have less?
You've got yours. You're comfortable, and blessed
Does it matter to you if children don't understand
Why we're too busy to lend them a hand?
When children kill children, we're all sad
Why didn't we reach them before they went bad?
When children have children, they think it's cool
But why didn't we teach them the rules?
We all do our own thing, and enjoy it, too
But when our own thing causes problems, Does It Matter To You?
