You Make My Sun Rise
You make my sun rise my sweet
every time
in my ocean swells
I surf
crashing upon your loving shores.
You sing poetry to me
claiming my center
because you sense my need
your willingly slave
proclaiming my freedom to be so.
I hear your siren call
demanding your
trembling reciprocity
and I give it all back and front.
You said
'Cowgirls ride'
and I agree
even cowboys
can
abandon
missionary.

Tribute Of The Freedom
I lie you for our freedom-
Giving salute to our ancestors
Not to make an ocean of blood
To escape from the cage of the slave-
To sing a song of my motherland-
Who says to you?
The day will not have a dawn
I lie you again for our freedom-
Every youth will sing altogether today
An anthem of the freedom
Put out the coffins of the youths.
Give me back our history
I lie you once more for our freedom.
The voice is rising up to the sky
Death or alive
We the one have give up the souls
It’s the tribute of the freedom.

Ocean Breakers
She went to water;
she always did.
The heaving ocean
matched her heavy breathing;
it was a Ocean of Tears
like hers.
The swells crash
against the shore
relentlessly;
life was relentless too.
The foam;
Anger in the Water that day.
She went to water
she always did,
moving among the sand dunes,
face against the wind.
The sea gulls overhead;
caw! caw! caw!
She lifts her arms,
the wind blows her sleeves
making a flapping sound;
she could hear whispers
between the breakers,
she could hear weeping
among the retreating waves.
She stood there
on the Edge of Forever.
There is no end to the ocean.
Every day it calls to the Sun
and makes it rise.
.
Every night it extinguishes it.
She could walk to China;
she could
and no one would know;
no one would know.
The voice said
'I thought I would find you here'
Waves crashing
more soothing now
two tracks in the sand.
Sad swells
rise again
and retreat;
time and ocean breaks
bring them back together again.

Cowgirls
Cowgirls
Cowgirls are cow crazy
They can ride for a wild bunch of girls
They ride so much that the cows are getting lazy
Cowgirls, cowgirls, cowgirls
The girls could ride for days
And when it comes to working they’ll be on their way
Those tough cowgirls are tougher than the boys
The boys are so jealous that they get annoyed
But, the girls don’t care because they know they were born to do what they do
Don’t you wish you were a crazy tough cowgirl, too?
And I’m recommending this to the boys, too! ! !

Hats Off
The stage is set tonight down in Nashville
It's been a long, hard ride into town
And thanks to some cowboys and heros
My chance to sing has finally come around
The first song I ever sang was haggard
Momma sang to me I saw the Light
I'd turn my radio up louder
To hear Johnny Cash walk the line
Waylon sang a song about Texas
Willie's "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain"
Bocephus sings a song about dixie.
Lefty taught us all how to sing.
Hats off to hard riding cowboys
Riding some where tonight
Hats off to hard riding cowboys
Wanted, dead or alive
Charlie ran the devil out of Georgia
Skynyrd sang sweet home Alabam
The Ahlman brothers taught us how to ramble
And to Tucker boys showed us how to jam.
Hats off to hard riding cowboys
Riding some where tonight
Hats off to hard riding cowboys
Wanted, dead or alive
The stage is set tonight up in Heaven
Rebas band is there with Patsy Cline
And all around are cowboys and cowgirls
And thanks to them the music's still alive
Hats off to hard riding cowboys
Flying somewhere tonight
Hats off to hard fighting cowboys
Wanted, dead or alive
Hats off to hard riding cowboys
Flying somewhere tonight
Hats off to hard fighting cowboys
Wanted, dead or alive

New Gold Dream
New gold dream
She is the one in front of me, the siren and the ecstasy
New gold dream
Crashing beats and fantasy, setting sun in front of me
New gold dream
And the world goes hot
And the cities take
And the beat goes crashing
All along the way
She is your friend until the ocean breaks
And when you dream, dream in the dream with me
And when you dream, dream in the dream with me
81 - 82 - 83 - 84
81 - 82 - 83 - 84
New gold dream
Sun is set in front of me, worldwide on the widest screen
New gold dream
Burning bridge and ecstasy, crashing beats and fantasy
Dream in the dream with
And the world goes hot
And the cities take
And the beat goes crashing
All along the way
She is your only friend until the ocean breaks
And when you dream, dream in the dream with me
And when we dream, dream in the dream with me
81 - 82 - 83 - 84

New gold dream
The siren and the ecstasy, she's the one in front of me

The Sea Loving People
The true sea loving people never live far from the sea
They pine if the ocean they can't hear or see
The feel of the sea spray where the wild breakers roar
Where huge waves pound the stony cliffs overlooking the shore.
They can only live near to where the surf waves roll
And to them the breath of the sea air is good for the soul
In towns by the ocean they grow old and gray
From salt-water they could not live far away.
The sea loving people enjoy the coastal sunshine
Inland from the ocean they surely would pine
To live two miles from the ocean for them does seem far
Though in distance that only a short drive by car.
The sea loving people love the rumble of the big surf waves
In cemetery close to the cliffs are their ancestors graves
They would pine if they could not hear the sea breakers roar
They only could live in towns near the Sea-shore.

Dream On Texas Ladies
(steve dan mills)
Way down in texas
Those cowgirls get restless
As they wait for that cowboy
Who will love them for life
And though they are certain
Theyll meet him tomorrow
Theyre alone with their dreams for tonight
So dream on texas ladies
About cowboys and babies
Hold out for that lonestar
Who will love you for life
Dream on texas ladies
About sunshine and daisies
Follow your heart
Where it leads you tonight
From houston to dallas
Those cowgirls sing ballads
About how love everlasting
Is love at its best
And they dream of that day
When they both ride away
As the sun slowly sets in the west
So dream on texas ladies
About cowboys and babies
Hold out for that lonestar
Who will love you for life
Dream on texas ladies
About sunshine and daisies
Follow your heart
Where it leads you tonight
Dream on texas ladies
About cowboys and babies
Hold out for that lonestar
Who will love you for life
Dream on texas ladies
About sunshine and daisies
Follow your heart
Where it leads you tonight
Dream on texas ladies
About cowboys and babies
Hold out for that lonestar
Who will love you for life
Dream on texas ladies
About sunshine and daisies
Follow your heart
Where it leads you tonight

Kill The Pain
(gill/johnson/nash/otoole)
This wasted land is gone now and
Swept away , swept away
Better not let the side down
Whirlwinds of time
We can build an ocean
Of hope despair to drown
Sail upon the waves a crashing
Devils to the ground
Ill follow you to fires of hell
And cast my soul in wishing wells
The colours of the sheddred sky
Hear the children sing
Kill the pain, well never be the same again
Once we have changed the nature of the game
Of the game
Breaks the chains we can rise up again
Once weve rearranged the nature of the game
Of the game
Dont you forget
What you give is what you get
Take love away theres nothing
Better not let the side down
So God on high has opened up the sky
Up the sky
We can build an ocean
Of hope despair to drown
Sail upon the waves a crashing
Devils to the ground
Ill follow you to fires of hell
And cast my soul in wishing wells
The colours of the sheddred sky
Hear the children sing
Kill the pain, well never be the same again
Once we have changed the nature of the game
Of the game
Break the chain we can rise up again
Once weve rearranged the nature of the game
Of the game
Were all walking through the fire
Walking on the nile
Let your spirit fly
This wasted land is gone now and
Swept away , swept away
Better not let the side down
Whirlwinds of time
Sing
We can build an ocean
Of hope despair to drown
Sail upon the waves a crashing
Devils to the ground
The legend of this dying land
The earth is acorched by devils hand
This place we love can live again
We rise up and sing
Kill the pain, well never be the same again
Once we have changed the nature of the game
Of the game
Break the chaing we can rise up again
Once weve rearranged the nature of the game
Of the game

Sonnet Of Motherhood VIII
Make me the melody of meeting palms,
The roundelay of little running feet.
Strike me a measure to a trembling sweet
Of the mouth’s laughter and the fingers’ psalms.
I know of music in the ocean calms—
A siren singing where the long tides meet.
I know of lyrics in the leaf’s long beat,
But the child-chant is symphony of balms.
Sing it to me. O, sing it to my blood…
Through chord and fibre of my being run
The liquid quavers, and the pause and turn
Of every note in its seraphic flood.
Sing on that anthem of the sea and sun
And the deep dreams that in your being yearn.

Even Cowgirls Get The Blues
(rodney crowell)
Shes a rounder I can tell you that
She can sing em all night, too
Shell raise hell about the sleep she lost
But even cowgirls get the blues
Especially cowgirls, theyre the gypsy kind
And need their laid on em loose
Shes lived to see the world turned upside down
Hitchin rides out of the blues
But even cowgirls get the blues sometimes
Bound to dont know what to do sometimes
Get this feelin like shes too far gone
The only way shes ever been
Lonely nights are out there on the road
Motel ceiling stares you down
There must be safer ways to pay your dues
But even cowgirls get the blues
Even cowgirls get the blues sometime
Bound to dont know what to do sometimes
Get this feelin like shes too far gone
The only way shes ever been
Even cowgirls get the blues sometime
Bound to dont know what to do sometimes
Get this feelin like the restless wind
The only way shes ever been

Cowboys Like Us
I take off time to time
With those crazy friends of mine
Head out on steel horses
With wheels and we ride
We burn up that road to old Mexico
Blend in with the desert
Just we amigos
And we roll
Chorus:
Cowboys like us sure do have fun
Racin the wind, chasin the sun
Take the long way around back to square one
Today were just outlaws out on the run
Therell be no regrets, no worries and such
For cowboys like us
We talk about livin, babies, and women
All that weve lost and all weve been givin
We sing about true love, lie about things we aint done
Drink one more cold one, come mornin get up
And we roll
Repeat Chorus twice
Cowboys like us

Theopathy
Evening memory,
whisper from your sweet flower sight,
as birds float delight.
World beauty,
sow some sweet simple spring season,
sky and sun without end.
Things combine
And seem to make little sense
When the great Beauty is bold
Singing its own song intense...
Sensations and seasons are best
When sowed in the simplicity
Of the pureness of poetry.
The dancing desert does delight
In the epiphanic voice,
Crying in the wilderness
Calling in the heart
Pleading in the mind, and
Claiming in the soul.
Beauty is the mysterious memory
Of what once was... and, by grace,
Shall someday return.
Known, unknown,
Wild, free, deep and true...
Nature speaks of
Gives hints toward, and
Causes contemplation for
What we know we barely know
And yet craving after
Do not understand...
Natures cryptic call
Seizes the soul and hungers the heart
Of all who willingly hear, and quietly listen
To the Voice
Crying, crying, and crying tears of longing
Throughout our own wilderness trek...
Sunrises to find,
softly speak visions in light,
as butterflies show freedom of flight.
Universe magnanimous,
moons and stars brilliant to send,
deep divine eternal hope from the final true,
Friend.

Siren
Siren, siren, calling me from the sea,
Spill the sweetness of your words and your voice—
Spill them with such lucid fluidity
That I sink in them without having choice.
Siren, siren, sing me into a lull,
Bewitch me with your charm and your danger—
An insatiable thirst I can't control
For adventures, your lure of grandeur.
Siren, siren, slipping through my fingers
Like a formless liquid, make me submit.
You move with an air that seems to linger,
Perfumed with pleasures that seem infinite.
Siren, siren, entice the sensation
Of love within my imagination.

To see if i would go
And when the dj tells me that the surfin' is fine
That's when i know my baby and i will have a good time
Surfin' is the only life
The only way for me.
Now surf, surf (surfin') with me
From the early morning to the middle of the night
Any time the surf is up the time is right
And when the surf is down and things get lazy
We'll do the surfer's stomp that's when the surfers go crazy
Surfin' is the only life
The only way for me.
Now surf, surf (surfin') with me
Now the dawn is breaking and we really gotta go
But we'll be back here very soon that you better know
You know my surfer knots are rising and my board is losing wax
(yeah yeah hey now)
But that won't stop me baby cause you know i'm coming back
Surfin' is the only life
The only way for me.
Now surf, surf (surfin') with me

Shes A River
Shadow let go
Theres something you should know
I just found my new direction
And I hope you like the key
Like the air that led me to it
Shes like the wind that sucked me through it
Shes a river and shes turning there in front of me
Stand back - get back
Shell paint your blue skies black
She gives bullet proof protection
Got a resurrection feel
When Im scared, and bout to lose
She gives me travelling shoes
Shes a river and shes turning in front of me
And I go blind
Wasting my time
While the rivers in front of me
Thats where Im goin to be
Shine on, get on
Twilight from dusk to dawn
Shes the spirit of creation
Shes the last chance guarantee
Got a myriad of poses
Sweet miracles and roses
Shes a river and shes turning in front of me
cause when I find
My state of mind
The rivers in front of me
They say that every heavens got a thousand rooms
So take me on that freedom ride
My heart is like a hunters in the silent moon
My nerves just feel electrified
Meet me on the staircase
Outside a darkened room
Light me like a naked flame
The voice of mother nature states
All things must pass
And nothing can remain
They say that every heavens got a thousand rooms
So take me on that freedom ride
You raise me like a building to the very top
Rush me to the end of time
You fill me full of danger
You give me future shock
Then you leave me wasted dying
And I go blind
Wasting my time
The rivers in front of me

Sweet Lady
Sweet lady would you be my
sweet love for a lifetime
I'll be there when you need me
just call and receive me
Now any other day
I would play it cool
But I ant now cause I want you
See I'm hooked on
how you flex your style
and I wanna talk for a little while
I never really seen your type
but I must admit that I kinda like
so maybe if you have the time
we could talk about you being my
Sweet lady would you be my
sweet love for a lifetime
I'll be there when you need me
just call and receive me
Sweet lady would you be my
sweet love for a lifetime
I'll be there when you need me
just call and receive me
Now on the regular
I would waste time but I don't want to
cuz you're so damn fine
and I heard that you were taken
but that don't have to stop you from makin
late night phone calls on the telephone
about your fantasies and ways to get it on
when you need me I will be
there for you my sweet lady
Sweet lady would you be my
sweet love for a lifetime
I'll be there when you need me
just call and receive me
Sweet lady would you be my
sweet love for a lifetime
I'll be there when you need me
just call and receive me
[bridge]
Say you will be baby
say you will be my lady
I've got to have all your love
so I wont even front
just say you'll give it to me
don't wanna hear the maybe's
and I will give you all my heart
if you say you'll be my baby
[Chorus fade out..]

The Ocean In My Mind
I sit on the beach
nothing but ocean in front of me
I look at the waves
and hear the rythum of them crashing
on to the rocky shore
I feel the water trickle down on me
in the hot summer sun
I look back into the ocean
and notice that I see no end
just beautifull blue water
I watch as dolphins
jump and twist in the air
I watch as sailboats
lazyily glide by
I watch the tide come and go
just sitting there
and enjoying my suroundings
I think to myself
life is like the ocean
unexpecting and dangerous
lively and beautiful
filled with both sorrow and joy
life is the ocean

He Miss The Old Town
He miss the old town by the ocean and he misses the smell of the sea
And in his moments of nostalgia in fancy he hear and see
The silver gulls above the wide beach in small flocks they call as they fly
And the soft pipings of the sooty oystercatchers echo in the clear morning sky.
He was a young man of the sixties and young men they age and grow old
All year round he rode the big surf waves in a wet suit to keep out the cold
Till he wandered far from the ocean fell in love, married and settled down
An ageing dad with teenage daughters he lives in a big inland Town.
He is out of practice for surfing and he lives far from the ocean shore
A champion young surfer of the sixties perhaps he will surf never more
You can take the man from the ocean but the ocean does not leave the man
Though far from the roar of the surf waves he well may live out his time span.
He miss the old town by the ocean though he now might feel a stranger there
A champion young surfer of the late sixties till lust for wander it took him to elsehwere
in his imaginings he rides the big waves and on his face the ocean spray
And at heart he is a coastal person though from there he lives far away.

So Watcha Want
Just Plug Me In Just Like I Was Eddie Harris You're Eating Crazy
Cheese Like You'd Think I'm From Paris You Know I Get Fly You
Think I Get High You Know That I'm Gone And I'm A Tell You All Why
So Tell Me Who Are You Dissing Maybe I'm Missing The Reason That
You're Smiling or Wilding So Listen In My Head I Just Want To
Take 'em Down Imagination Set Loose And I'm Gonna Shake 'em
Down Let It Flow Like A Mud Slide When I Get On I Like To Ride And
Glide I've Got Depth Of Perception In My Text Y'all I Get Props At My
Mention 'Cause I Vex Y'All So What'cha Want You're So Funny With
The Money That You Flaunt Where'd You Get Your Information
From You Think That You Can Front When Revelation Comes
You Can't Front On That
Well They Call Me Mike D The Ever Loving Man I'm Like Spoonie Gee
I'm The Metropolitician You Scream And You Holler About My
Chevy Impala But The Sweat Is Getting Wet Around The Ring Around
Your Collar But Like A Dream I'm Flowing Without No Stopping
Sweeter Than A Cherry Pie With Ready Whip Topping Goin' From
Mic To Mic Kickin' It Wall To Wall Well I'll Be Calling Out You People
Like A Casting Call It's Wack When You're Jacked In The Back Of A
Ride With Your Know With Your Flow When You're Out Getting By
Believe Me What You See Is What You Get And You See Me Coming Off
As You Can Bet I Think I'm Losing My Mind This Time
This Time I'm Losing My Mind
You Can't Front On That
But Little Do You Know About Something That I Talk About I'm Tired
Of Driving It's Due Time That I Walk About But In The Meantime, I'm
Wise To The Demise I've Got Eyes In The Back Of My Head So I Realize
Well I'm Dr. Spock

Once Upon A Time Feb 4th 2011
I came from an era where typewriters were few and far between,
Where ball point pens were modern but even then, seldom seen,
Is it possible to stop the clock and maybe turn it back?
Things seemed better then when no one even heard of a heart attack.
Those country singers that were part of my young life, long ago,
Like Johnny Cash and his wife at the Opry singing Troubadour,
Somehow or other they’re not front and center any more,
What has time done to country music that I wish I could restore?
Sometimes I can hear them on TV, someone selling their CDs,
If I could turn back the clock instead of being inclined to agree,
Back to long before the UN got sidetracked in New York,
Almost all the way back to the time that I left County Cork.
