Before the Wild Winds
I wish that I had met you far from your becoming
In those tender moments stilled by innocence
Long before your winds blew wild
And carnal mange rained down to claim your soul
Was there softness on your pillow then?
Or did you dream in a rage of sex and lustful intent
I can only surmise of your passions back then
Oh, how I adored you…in full fancy of my own suppositions
But I ask you now…was there peace in the shallows of that world
Or was your history contrived to set you on another path
Twisted around such ironclad authority that you rebelled
Running full-fledged into the arms of decay
Were you led by the nose to the place where you became
Or did you seek it…finding your way via a path of secrets
Did life events drive you…
A cataclysm that sent you screaming from loves' door…?
I cannot fathom what turned you from a fair flavored child
Leaving your shame to stagnate in a pool of indifference
Or what transformed the spring pup to cold blooded wolf
Was there a misfire of constitution…an override of compassion?
I long to know what bore in you such cool calculation
Where the search for fire and flesh is your only master
And matters of the heart fall deaf upon your door
So sad, to have grown into a life of such apathy
It seems to me, a waste to bleed with such fury
While failing to understand the true meaning of its origin
And a tragedy to flame with undying beauty
Yet find it impossible to grab hold with both hands
When I came here to touch you…to love you
I did not know that you were lost, buried in a trove of secrets
Your heart forever deafened to the whispers of love
I did not see our tide, as a briny sea of oppression
I came to walk these shores in awe of what lay ahead
Where whispers of surf on sand, sings lullabies into a velvet night
I came to feel the sensation of fire beneath my breast
And I believed, the rhythm of my heart could rejoice 'neath your persuasion
I regret that I could not touch, or taste, or know the whole of you
Seems fate stepped in to splinter the simplicity of what we were
And sent us spiraling into the arms of no turning back
We came so far, we came so very, very far…only to have lost our way

Yesterday's flattery creeps like a slow poison

While the renderings of today rain down on me, bitter and raw
My flesh has grown cold in the want for your touch
And my heart….hard… without the balm of love
Endless promises have offered only a vast emptiness
And have served to drive the cleave but deeper
Severing the vessel of my long held faith
We've ventured far on the wings of my desire…
Only to find ourselves at the end of our journey
Saddened to part…not as friends or as lovers
But as strangers, two ships, adrift on a lonely sea
Each running headlong to the point of no return
The fire has dwindled and burns low on the horizon
The night's have grown silent, no longer echoing soft your name
And while moonlit skies sparkle bright with bittersweet longing
The occasional shooting star streaks forth to remind me
Of a fire that burned fierce but died too soon
We've come to the end of this chapter
A crusade fraught with love, with passion…and with loss
Yet my history book would be flawed, imperfect without it
This passage, forever sacred to my heart is burned deep into memory
And as I lift the quill to pen the verses of a new tomorrow
I'll accept today's heartache as a lesson learned

His Counterfeit Life
His beasts grow hungry
Breaking free, the cages of his soul
Wind spirits breathe the secrets of fire
As naked flesh rises in the stir
She’s calling, calling…soft as snowflakes
Coaxing desires from stone cold ash
Voices…thick in whispers, claw at his door
Wisdom succumbs to the licking of flames
Passion…transformed by persuasion,
Laps soft the candied lips of seduction’s embrace
Embers rage to the rhythm of night songs
Hot…in the blood red fire of kisses
He is rigid and wanton of the flame
She purrs at him…sweet as a kitten
Then, bearing teeth…sharp as knives
Cuts gashes…deep into the clay
Piercing midnight in screams of rebirth
Her stilettos carve the ivory path…
Bearing blood to the cold heart of their master
Black lipstick paints soot on his dreams
Drowning him in black shadows
Suffocating his pleas for release
He is wicked, but no match
He is wanton, but weak
His beasts, slaughtered at the hands of denial
And then he wakes, cold…unfulfilled

Burned Up, Burned Out, I've Let It Go
I know not what it means to be loved
But only to love in vain
I have not held the gentle grace of your words
Or tasted the fiery bloom of regard
You cast me into a cold prison of oppression
Offering only scrapes of charity, lukewarm sentiments
Mere lip service to fuel my heart when passion starts to wane
You are a cold and calculating master
The proverbial 'wolf in sheep's clothing'
Hiding your confessions deep in the recesses of my shame
You baited me with greedy hooks, tripped the snare
And I, fell victim to your frivolity
I believed myself strong enough…and you, man enough
To ride the insatiable waves of my desires
Still leaving fruit for tomorrow's gathering
But you could not give, the same passion that you received
Nor hold in reserve seeds for tomorrow
Instead you burned, and burned, and burned the candle
Flaming both ends, with a rampant wickedness until there was none…
I look upon the ashes with heavy heart
For I cannot bring back what has been used up and discarded in indifference
I cannot look into the light of tomorrow and see the same man

Night Secrets…
No more my aching heart
As you sleep silent in my breast
Awakening in the night
I await your sweet caress
My aching, barren arms in vain
So many times I've wept
At night upon my pillow
While in my bed I slept
Night secrets in the darkness
Like dark, murky shadows
That linger in the night
The rain softly whispers
Through the wind and trees

Rejection
The fear of rejection-
Despite the sunshine
And
California, dreams-
This place where snow never falls, and
The ocean exists just outside my back door-
This fear and aloneness
Not even a prayer would
Alleviate,
Although one day I met you
Walking barefooted in
The sunlight’s shadows –
A child of God you said you were and
That we are all God’s children-
Your hand outstretched
Reaching for mine- although
With some trepidation
I walked the path towards heaven
By your side as the rain fell-
Laughter was infectious,
I could feel my bare feet sinking into the
Muddy water, as we grew closer
Sharing the secrets of our wounded hearts,
Life, laughter and these peace filled moments had
Me believing I had found a friend in you-
It hardly mattered that the rain was falling hard
In this place where it hardly ever rained-
I would never be alone again…
Inside my small cracker box home
I would wait for your arrival, though
My thoughts, abruptly interrupted by
The harsh ringing of the telephone-
Life, laughter and peace-filled moments
Transformed to shattered hopes and phony expectations-
The God you had told me that answered everybody’s prayers-
Had different plans for you and I-
The hand that had so gratefully reached out to touch your soul
Took the wound of rejection, anger and deep disappointment -
The profuse bleeding was not the bleeding
From nails pounded into the hands of Christ crucified –
This God that you claimed had made so many promises, but
Was the bleeding of my wounded heart and wrist-
From that day on, I would never again repeat the words
“In God we trust” as
I had been betrayed by your false promises and
Forsaken by the God who walked with you-
I see blood in a puddle upon the
Kitchen floor,
Red contrasting rudely with the tile, stark white-
Hardly diluted by the tears of rejection
I had wept so copiously-
The rain has ceased to fall now and
The sun is shining again upon this land but
Not upon my inner space-
Here in my sanctuary, alone,
I cannot see the light of day-
California dreams have
Transformed to nightmares-
We are all God’s children,
As you had so faithfully said, but
I am a child of God who
Walks alone in the darkness
Towards the rising moon- and
They say only crazy people dance in the dark
When the moon is full-
The rain may have washed my tears away but inside of me
Lives an untrustworthy soul that
Will never reach heaven’s gates because
The God you walk with and in which you have
Placed your faith, in my mind does not exist-
Blinded by the bright sunlight, and
So angry at this world
I choose not to live in, I shall
Walk outside my back door towards the ocean,
Find a seashell and hold it to my ear to listen
To the waves roaring as
I walk barefooted in the sand alone-
Alone, being the only way I can exist-
You, God and the sun have not been true, and
Darkness had never seemed so beautiful as
I dance beneath the full moon during the midnight hours, as I
Converse with the voices that echo throughout my mind,

He Speaks To Me At Midnight
When all is still, the potion spills
Soft shadows on the grave
In windswept dreams, where silence screams
Of passion that I crave
Away in flight, on wings of night
Held captive in his snare
He stokes the fires…of my desire
And chains me to his lair
Each night I bend, to whisperings winds
They haunt my midnight skies
He softly sings, into my dreams

Living on the streets of nowhere
Nobody understands and nobody cares

Love, Grief, Death, Peace and Life Make War
Love, grief, death, peace, and life make war.
Within the grasps of victory, here lies grief.
Striving to keep a soul alive, thriving for life
whispers of sanity fade from the sight of death.
An outstretched limb pleading for a touch of peace
as a memory of happiness fills the heart with love.
Controlling senses fester upon a long lost love,
breathing in deep, it’s the smell of a war.
Muffled cries creep into your soul, pleading for peace.
You lick your blood stained lips, tasting the bitter grief.
piercing voices thunder upon the ground, accepting death
as a memory of loneliness fills their heart with an absence of life.
Tears of blood come forth into a dimension of twisted life.
The air, heavy and hot, hover over you ridding the land of any former love.
A chorus of saints and sinners sing to you, singing the song of death,
”O come ye child, come into my arms and rid yourself of this war.
Gather your mind and venture to the morrow, leaving behind this haunting grief,
for it is not your fault that this world does not know peace.”
You close your eyes, feeling the sensation of eternal peace.
You can not move any aching limb, within an inch of life
you follow the scent of reigning mud, caking itself to the world’s own grief.
Wandering past the forgotten lives to seek the one true love
that carries upon it’s shoulders, a burden of war.
This land can no longer hold itself with peace as all the peace has turned to death.
Forging itself upon your spirit, the lies no longer live, now it is only death
that caresses your body like a mother so tender, illuminating the one and only peace.
Taunting you to go and be afraid no more, taunting and taunting, this is war.
With one last plea, you beg and cry for the voices to take your life
as you know that the searching prisms of hope will find your love
and they will abolish the need of any misery and any grief.
Once more do the saints and sinners sing of your grief
only this time, there is no mourning of war and death.
They’ve come to pour into your heart, a sound so divine. It is love.
”Dear child, dear child, no more shall you weep, we are here, we’re your peace.
Come with us to a land so pure, where love is eternal and death is not near. We will give you life.
With a trust so deep, take our hands and no more, no more, shall this be your burden of war.”
In times of sorrow and fear, lost is the value of love and peace.
All is forgotten while caged by grief and watching the slaughter of life.
You watch your fallen brothers, reaching for help, you hear the despair in all their voices.
You’re the saint and sinner, giving them hope.
You cease your thoughts, you must fight on.
You aim your gun, praying for death. This is war.

Today i met a lonely girl
with a touch of magic
i've been waiting for someone like her
I'm so happy
She let's me know of her love
i give her all of mine
My Angel sent from above
i tell her all the time cause i'm so happy
Now what was once 2 lonely souls
tonight we sleep, arms in arms
i found someone to love and hold
i wonder if she's happy
Love is here, just in time
my dark world has begun to shine
wherever i go, i want her near
cause she's what makes me happy

So attractive with a past so tragic

Why does one walk with God, and why does a heart humbly nod,
While a sinner in the present life, to follow as Lord, Jesus Christ?
What are the choices one will make, as former ways they forsake,
Ignoring all that others will say, as they choose in life a new way?
No soul will move towards God, upon the earth we presently trod,
Unless the person is drawn by, the Spirit of God, Who is on High.
Their heart by God is stirred within, that sinner lost and wandering,
And given eyes so they will see, the need for The God of Eternity.
A need they never saw before, the Savior knocked upon the door,
The very door of their own heart, for the new life with God to start,
And at that moment they believe, The Holy Spirit, they will receive,
Thus, beginning a New Life when, that sinner becomes Born Again.
It is only after that spiritual birth, the things of God have real worth,
When given new sight from above, God’s Spirit kindles a new love,
A flame in your heart becomes a fire, with new purpose and desire,
Walking with God you’ll soon find, the former ways are left behind.
With a desire to walk in The Light, to help men still lost in the night,
Persuading others to open the door, to a life in Christ forevermore,
So as the Spirit of God moves in, they leave a present path of sin,
To join that race with you and me, on the new path to Life Eternally.

i am the soul damned to hell,
burned at the stake by the righteous!
i am the hand that touches forbidden places,
that holds yours when you're alone.

with the innocense of your eyes when i first saw you,
