Through A Porthole

If you could lie upon this berth, this berth
whereon I lie,
If you could see a tiny peak uplift its
tingled tusk,
If you could see the purple hills against
the changing sky,
And see a shadowed pinnacle lying in the dusk;
If you could see the sabre-moon shining
on the deep;
You'd say the world was not unkind, but just
a sleeping child,
You'd say the world has gone to sleep.
And while it slept
it smiled.

Wake Not My Sleeping Child

Wake not my sleeping child
This world awaits not thy vision,
Talk not my sleeping child
This world listens to no one,
Move not my sleeping child
This world senses every vibration!
Think not my sleeping child
This world is void of thoughts.
Live not my sleeping child,
This world offers nothing but death!
Lie in my arms in perfect numbness…
This world will spare you its camaraderie!

The kid only kept me alive and helped me stand the pain

I was holding the tender
Left hand palm of the
Little child lying by my side
Seeking the kid
To bless me with strength
And a part of his enthusiasm
So that we keep alive
And see the light of the day

It must be early morning now
And I was able to hear shouts
Of people arrived at the spot of the mishap
We were survivors of a
Recent train accident

I saw the same kid yesternight
Playing with his mom
And dodging her efforts
To feed him with the most nutritious food
She could best afford
I do not know what time we went off in sleep
In this three tier air conditioned coach

But all came to a halt with a big bang and great jerk
All settled with cries of help
Emanating from all directions
And the cries also died down over a period to time
I was trapped between two berth slabs
The berth in which the child is sleeping
Getting crushed close to mine
But the kid was not injured and still sleeping
After some initial cries immediately after the mishap

I was holding that child’s palm
And praying all gods known to me
To help us come out
I was in great pains and was unable to
Move my legs while hands were free

Prayers of mine were answered
When I saw an acetylene torch
Cutting the ceiling and molten hot
Metal splinters started showering from top
I made shouts so that they could exercise caution
Which they did
And entered a pair of asbestos gloved hands
I carefully grabbed the sleeping kid
And handed over to the rescuers
Telling that the kid was fine
And requesting them to take a good care of him
I did not know what happened
After the child was handed over

When I became conscious
I smelt the disinfectant laden hospital environ
And I heard doctors discussing about me
I understood I have lost both my legs
And they were wondering how I
Withstood the pain of such a crush
At the same time saved the life of a kid

They did not know
The kid only kept me alive
And helped me stand the pain

Let Her be Peevish to Nag

Being fade up when my half heart continued to nag
I left home began to roam to teach her a lesson and sag
Boarded a train to relax and gain freedom, peace and romance
Away from her where no familiar faces to be seen by chance
Out of luck I got an upper berth just to the berth side-by
Where a beauty queen may be around sixteen a virgin did occupy
Our time, passed fine, with exchange of tales and banter
I put in belief and my liking in deep, to be a romance hunter
The Next fine morning, after a sweet dream, when I woke up
The beauty queen, was no more to be seen, on my side-by berth
The sweet lass, along with my things and purse, forever vanished
She availed the chance, for the intimacy and romance, what I did
I came back to my wife, taking a lesson of life, being fully gagged
I understood, for my benefit and good, let her be peevish to nag

tiny stars

This evening you're sizzling at your royal most sensational in mystic purple

Today amidst the mist
Just after dusk way after
The in-betweeners have done
Done their thrill seeker's
Star studded moon dance look
This evening you're at your
Royal most sensational in
Mystic purple.The stimulation
Of red and the calm of blue
Seem to be vying for your
Attention.But the artistry of
The beauty of your uplifting
Purple takes the characteristic
Undertones to uplift the dormant
Soul and calms the lover's
Mind and nerves and offers
A sense of spirituality but
Most of all your purple is
Appreciated by the eccentric
You encourage my creativity

The Harvest Moon

the yellow moon,
the colour that i could never get right
in my art class
well who can
it is never really yellow
and when you add white
it loses its luminosity
full moon
well when it is full
it is never round
if you look casually at it
it bulges at one side
with a tiny star twinkling at its side
a little child crying to be carried
but who cares except the round moon
poetic moon as poets would write
whether it is or not
the little child that would soften their poem
never given its recognition
lazy bones are always copycats
and they get the world messed up
with their inaccuracies, self conceitness
the moon,
the next door amateur witch
gives it a dose of evil
chanting archaic verses for a love charm, bag of luck
and a spirit in the wild
the moon that boosts my spirit
with its innocent roundness, a softness of a girl's buttock
maternal's light, and the ways it slims, fattens, slims, wanes
signs itself in and out of the sky

inspired by

The Harvest Moon
The flame-red moon, the harvest moon,
Rolls along the hills, gently bouncing,
A vast balloon,
Till it takes off, and sinks upward
To lie on the bottom of the sky, like a gold doubloon.
The harvest moon has come,
Booming softly through heaven, like a bassoon.
And the earth replies all night, like a deep drum.
So people can't sleep,
So they go out where elms and oak trees keep
A kneeling vigil, in a religious hush.
The harvest moon has come!
And all the moonlit cows and all the sheep
Stare up at her petrified, while she swells
Filling heaven, as if red hot, and sailing
Closer and closer like the end of the world.
Till the gold fields of stiff wheat
Cry `We are ripe, reap us! ' and the rivers
Sweat from the melting hills.

Let The Night Sleep

Let the night sleep
Sleep for ever deep
With the night I sleep
Beyond the world to peep
Universe will sleep
Plants and trees
Birds and bees
Stars and moon
To sleep very soon!
Fruits and flowers
Joy with showers
Will sleep with me and the night
Not to keep the life very tight!
No dawn of the day
Right upto the dooms day!
Sleep permanent
In the world impermanent
I'll sleep without light
My agonies will sleep
My worries will sleep
My pains will sleep
My sins will sleep!

While in sleep
I am pure
I am peace
I am noble!

While my body is asleep
Awake my soul I keep
Sleep akin to death
Death akin to sleep in mirth?

Let the night sleep
Sleep for ever deep
With night I sleep
Sleep to eternity
Soul to merge in Divinity!

Centenary

If, in your life's dark night,
if, in your life's very center
racing from berth to berth,
asleep in your cot in the steerage
you hear waltzes tossed
into your dreams like banners from above
and feeling a little shudder
imagine you hear groans
of metal rent asunder
pay it no mind.

It is nothing, nothing.
Your stomach grumbling, that's all.
It is indigestion.
Return to sleep. Turn over in your bed.
Ignore it-draw the covers tightly
over your head. In the cold sky of night
the lanterns of the stars burn brightly
and though there's far to go
tomorrow's a new day, guaranteed
to dawn rosy.

And if your dreams begin to list,
having come this far, don't be a bit
upset or complain more than once-
that is the way of fugitive dreams.
And if they tilt some more
just be glad they haven't tilted further.
But heeling to a reckless pitch
salvage what's left or abandon them outright-
cry yourself awake
leap to an idle boat and haul away.

Afraid To Sleep

We slept in this room together but now youre gone
And its so quiet I turn the tv on
We lived in this room together we painted the walls
Now time doesnt stand still
It crawls
And Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
And dreams are always deep
On the pillow where I weep
I never realized how much I was in love with you
Until you started sleeping with someone new
Last night I dreamed again and you were there
You kissed my face you touched my hair
And Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
And dreams are always deep
On the pillow where I weep
Lying alone in the darkness with a memory in my head
Theres a big hole where my heart is
And a lonely feeling rollin round my bed
And Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
And dreams are always deep
On the pillow where I weep
On the pillow where I weep
Im afraid to sleep.

Walking In The Air

Sweeping low over an ocean deep
Rousing up a mighty monster from his sleep
Were walking in the air
Were dancing in the midnight sky
Were walking in the air
Were floating in a moonlit sky
The people far below
Are sleeping as we fly
Im holding very tight
Im riding on the midnight blue
Im finding I can fly so high above with you....
Free as we can be
Above the sleeping world
As far as I can see
(all is a dream)
All across the world
The villages go by like dreams
The rivers and the hills
The forests and the streams
Children gaze
Open mouthed
Taken by surprise
Nobody
Down below
Believes
Their eyes
Were surfing in the air
Were swimming in a frozen sky
Were drifting over ice
And mountains floating by
Free as we can be
Above the sleeping world
As far as I can see
All is a dream
Were walking in the air
(walking in the air)
Were dancing in the midnight sky
(dancing in the sky)
And everyone who sees us
Greets us as we fly
Were walking in the air...
Walkin in the air...
Were walking in the air
Walkin in the air
Were walking in the air
Were walking in the air

Still Smiling........

Smiled When Mother Took Me Into Her Arms For The First Time,
Smiled When Saw World Outside The Hospital For The First Time,
Smiled Whenever Went To School,
Smiled Even Being Laughed At....
And Called A Fool....
Smiled When Stood First In The Class,
Smiled When I Wasn't Misunderstood..... At Last!
Smiled When My Poem Was Said Wow!
Smiled When Realised That Only Day Is Today....
And Time Is Now......
Smiled When Got My 'True' Love,
Smiled As I Always Felt We Are Two Doves,
Smiled Even When Came To Know He's Not Mine,
Smiled Even When He Married My Friend.....
And Raised A Toast Of Wine,
Smiled Even When Lost Every Hope,
Smiled Even When Wasn't Able To Cope,
Smiled Even When Knew My End Is Near,
Smiled And Enjoyed Cutting My Nerve.......
No Fear...............
Smiled At Every Moment Of My Life,
Whenever, Wherever And Never Cried.............

But Now, I'm Lying Under A White Cover,
Father Putting Me On Fire.........
With No Blessings Left To Shower.....
People Around Have Nothing To Do With My Death
But Are Crying.........
And I'm............
Still Smiling.................................

This Spider World

Nine months in deep sleep,
Today a child is born;
This is the poetry of my way of life,
This is the poetry of your way of life;
Our minds to the peoples around us.

Nine months in deep sleep,
Today a child is born;
So enter into the world so sweet with,
The muse and the muses!
This Spider World is full of strings.

To and fro to make ends meet,
After nine months of deep sleep;
Of the potraits and masks of one's life,
When a child is born into this spider world.

Soft words like oil,
Smooth life like butter,
Of a joyous occasion with the muse;
Today a child is born.
This Spider World full of strings,
This act of 'to and fro' to make ends meet;
We are all in this Spider World together.

The Blind Boon

Bore me my mother for months nine,
Having own dreams in the world of mine,
With zeal to make me a complete man
She alone I say had crossed horizon.
Her ambition about son seems pure as heaven
Her heart oh god! Is purest of pure even
She is the living god I am for sure
Then the day came for me but in dark
In doctors arms’ crying for light was I
But who understands! ! ! I see only night
Complained the man then
Blind is your son, dream now if you can
My mother as I feel was hurt deep
She has still her ambitious oath keep
She says me today regarding “lucky”
Son you see a world very different and worthy
The dark black sky is that I see
All around the world from head to knee
The seven colors of the nature
Is the life of my worlds lustre
I see my own flowers and gardens
Enjoying the colored seas and dark dens
My own people, my own world,
My own….. My own…………. my own…………………….
Tears do still tickle down my cheek
When my heart says being weak
What if I own a golden world?
I cannot see one who gave me birth
In this regard I fail to reserve my berth.
Jealous I am of those who read this
For being gifted with eyes to see your mom with out miss! ! ! ! ! !

Steak n Sabre

I was sitting at a table
Down at the steak n sabre
With cain and abel
The circumstance was a different kind of world
We were laughing and drinking
The universe was shrinking
I was thinking, man, thats a different kind of world
Down at the steak n sabre
Like trobarianders
Dont you understand thats a different kind of world
I was swimming in bali
When I got swallowed
By something hollow
We were going down to a different kind of world
Where they talk like plato
And sweet potatoes growing all around in a different kind of world
Right down in the shallows
And the wind it blows
Dont you know thats a different kind of world

Steep From A Peak A Fall Deep

Steep from a peak a fall,
Deep.
Just like a ball rolling,
Gaining speed.
Eyes open wide as they witness to see...
A clarity that stops their sleeping.

Steep from a peak a fall,
Deep.
Just like a ball rolling,
Gaining speed.
Eyes open wide as they witness to see.
A clarity that stops their sleeping.

Deceit is wished to be defeated.
Steep from a peak a fall,
Deep.
People see this and the creeps.
Steep from a peak a fall,
Deep.
Honesty reveals all evils.
Steep from a peak a fall,
Deep.
And those of wicked ways.
Try not to look afraid,
But.

Steep from a peak a fall,
Deep.
Steep from a peak a fall,
Deep.
Steep from a peak a fall,

People see this and the creeps.

Struggle with Darkness

The sun set and it was being dark,
A pitch dark night had fallen,
No light was there nor any spark,
A star shone at all of sudden,
And found all his friends sleeping,
He went and tried them awake,
One of them got up from his sleeping,
And asked why he made him awake.

Asked him making the earth light,
Cause there had fallen a dark night,
But, his reply was then shown,
'What can be done, O friend! Alone?
Without the moon we are what?
Against the darkness can't be fought,
Let's go to awake our moon
The earth may it light up soon.'

They both reached the moon and found,
The moon was lying on the ground,
And appeared, she was not fine,
Cause she had drunk the evil wine,
Unfair gifts had she been given,
For shining not in dark night,
Forgot she, her duty at all of sudden,
And let the inhabitents of earth fight.

The moon ordered them to go and sleep,
'What's the use for them weep?
We'll be given gifts for this deed,
And on duty we find nothing indeed.
'Second' of both agreed with the moon,
He went and slept very soon,
'First' was worried, but nothing spake,
And he put himself at stake.

He went respectively to each stars and;
Requested them to get up and shine,
Initially they were afraid being mixed in sand,
At last they all accepted his wine,
All of them when began to shine,
Like the ornaments of the sky,
The moon felt a tasteless wine,
On herself she was shy.

Getting up, the moon begged sorry to all,
And she shone at full of her might,
Lighten up was every mount, forest and wall,
And became silver the whole sight.
This revolution if on the earth befall,
No country would be worried but delight,
Be alive, no of your leaders can thee enthrall,
But know the deference between Black and White.

Sleeping at last

Sleeping at last, the trouble and tumult over,
Sleeping at last, the struggle and horror past,
Cold and white, out of sight of friend and of lover,
Sleeping at last.

No more a tired heart downcast or overcast,
No more pangs that wring or shifting fears that hover,
Sleeping at last in a dreamless sleep locked fast.

Fast asleep. Singing birds in their leafy cover
Cannot wake her, nor shake her the gusty blast.
Under the purple thyme and the purple clover
Sleeping at last.

Built To Last

Somewhere out my doorway
Somewhere down my block
I can hear her heartbeat
In rhythm with my clock
I want her more than diamonds
I want her more than gold
I want her more than anything
Anyone could hold
We were built to last
On until forever
The world is changing fast
Oh, but our love is built to last
She has followed me down
Along some empty str eets
She has followed me where
The rain would fall in sheets
And I know Ive been changing
Changing like the wind
I was feeling burned out
I got tired of it
We were built to last
On until forever
The world is chan ging fast
Oh, but our love is built to last
Woah...
Woah...
So come to me my darling
Hold me while I sleep
I know you feel lost
But youre not in too deep
We were built to last
On until forever
The world is changing fast
Oh, but our love is built to last
Yeah our love was built to last

If Purple Could Heal You

If Purple Could Heal You
By Tameka Callaway
One day, you told me that Purple is your favorite color.
I wish that purple can heal you

If purple could heal you, I would give purple flowers everyday
in a purple vase that will make your day
I would wear purple lip stick so I come leave kisses on you face
Wish there was purple days and purple nights

If only purple could heal you, I will give a purple glass of purple kool aid with purple ice so you would have a purple tong
I would go to the end of the world to find you the perfect purple yarn so I could make you a purple body suit from head to toe

Oh how I would give you a purple world
But for now, I just give you a purple poem
I love you
