Why There's No Peace

Too many people are half asleep.
With one eye closed,
And the other that peeks.
When they are alone,
They hear a door that creaks.
And maybe to their feet,
They just might leap!

Where is that peace,
We've been praying to believe in?
And where do gossipers at night go?
The ones who claim to see,
Everything from their windows?

Too many people are half asleep.
With one eye closed,
And the other that peeks.
When they are alone,
They hear a door that creaks.
And maybe to their feet,
They just might leap!

Nobody's feeling safe behind doors anymore.
And those who snore loudly,
Are told they bore!

Where is that peace,
We've been praying to believe in?
Too many people are half asleep.

Where is that peace,
We've been praying to believe in?
Too many people are half asleep.

And where do gossipers at night go?
The ones who claim to see,
Everything from their windows?

Nobody's feeling safe behind doors anymore.
And those who snore loudly,
Are told they bore!

Too many people are half asleep.
And bored with each other,
That is why there's no peace!

Too many people are half asleep.
And bored with each other,
That is why there's no peace!

Too many people are half asleep.
Too many people are half asleep.
And bored with each other,
That is why there's no peace!

Half-open Door

let me try to see
a door half-open

let me not be
half the man

let there be
light though dim

let me be the shadow
to come in

let me not find
you asleep

with some
living tears

let me kiss your lips
i can't let you die in peace

let me touch your lightness
let me be this caress

A Feeling Of Half-ness

i had long known that i cannot be full
i am always a glass half full.
This feeling of not having gone at length
to the place where i want to put all my legs and my hands
and let them do something that is so complete.
My cheeks are blushing.
My ears do not fully hear what I am saying to my heart.
My heart beats but always in half notes
In Whispers so that You may not hear everything
That I want to say. Always concealing.
Hiding the true color of this state: halfway
Half asleep. Half awake.

At the middle of things, I shall always be.
I am neither the beginning
Nor the End. I want to speak, but there are no words coming.

As i lay asleep......

Soft cushion
Flavoured incense
I lay asleep

Night
Day
All the same
I lay asleep

Hurted deep
Women weep
I lay asleep

I lay asleep
Amidst the noise
Mortal body
Left with no choice

Drones of people
Flock around
Curious for my name
In moments of despair
Feeling of fame

Its all over
Forget me now
Lay me lower
My house-the ground
And let me sleep
Let me sleep
Sleep
Sleep, forever........

Half The World

Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
Half the world hates
What half the world does every day
Half the world waits
While half gets on with it anyway
Half the world lives
Half the world makes
Half the world gives
While the other half takes
Half the world is
Half the world was
Half the world thinks
While the other half does
Half the world talks
With half a mind on what they say
Half the world walks
With half a mind to run away
Half the world lies
Half the world learns
Half the world flies
As half the world turns
Half the world cries
Half the world laughs
Half the world tries
To be the other half
Half of us divided like a torn-up photograph half of us are
Trying to reach the other half
Half the world cares
While half the world is wasting the day
Half the world shares
While half the world is stealing away

Half The World

Half the world lives,
Half the world makes,
Half the world gives
While the other half takes.

Half the world hates,
Half the world runs away,
Half the world's late,
Half the world praises the day.

Half the world is,
Half the world was,
Half the world thinks,
Half the world does.

Half the world lies,
Half the world burns,
Half the world cries
While the other half turns.

Half the world cares,
Half the world weeps,
Half the world shares,
Half the world keeps.

Half the world sings,
Half the world laughs,
Half the world brings,
Half the world tries to be the other half.

End.

Ch 02 The Morals Of Dervishes Story 07

I remember, being in my childhood pious, rising in the night, addicted to devotion and abstinence. One night I was sitting with my father, remaining awake and holding the beloved Quran in my lap, whilst the people around us were asleep. I said: ‘Not one of these persons lifts up his head or makes a genuflection. They are as fast asleep as if they were dead.’ He replied: ‘Darling of thy father, would that thou wert also asleep rather than disparaging people.’

The pretender sees no one but himself
Because he has the veil of conceit in front.
If he were endowed with a God-discerning eye
He would see that no one is weaker than himself.

Trapped

You may be trapped in the hole!
But i am here to get you out;
For true love is all that i have for you.
I know how much you've gone through in life,
And i will do my best to show you the difference;
For it was a pretty thing to hear your voice.
You are more used than others and, much known around;
But i am half asleep and half awake!
So, let us face this issue at hand.

Abani, Are You Home?

Abani, are you home?

The neighbourhood lies in sleep with doors closed
But I keep hearing the night knocking at my door,
'Abani, are you home? '

Here it rains all the twelve months
Here the clouds roam like cows
Here the eager green grass
closes in on the door,
'Abani, are you home? '

In my heart, half-dissolved, long-traveled
I fall asleep within pain
Suddenly I hear the night knocking at my door,
'Abani, are you home? '

So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things.

A glimpse

a glimpse
the half opened door
some would say
a half closed door
it all depends on the
state of mind you are in
well half closed for pessismist
and half opened for optimist
half opened or half closed door
so long as it is open
and not close
a good exercise for the mind
of a story teller, novelist, a film maker
a glimpse at the half closed door
the mind is thrown open
like the kick you would give
a half opened door
so that you and pet cat could
glide through easily
the stories that start coming out
from a glimpse at the half opened door
agatha's murdered corpse lying behind
a stalker, a ghost in the corridor of the mind
from the glimpse of the half closed door
a million possibilities, ideas pouring forth
half closed door, half opened door
whichever way you may say
it is an opened door
a million stories, ideas, possibilities
knock at the door of my mind
a glimpse of the half closed, half opened door
my half closed half opened eyes
open themselves to my ever curious mind
boundless as the universe

A Glimpse
A GLIMPSE, through an interstice caught,
Of a crowd of workmen and drivers in a bar-room, around the stove,
late of a winter night-And I unremark'd seated in a corner;
Of a youth who loves me, and whom I love, silently approaching, and
seating himself near, that he may hold me by the hand;
A long while, amid the noises of coming and going-of drinking and
oath and smutty jest,
There we two, content, happy in being together, speaking little,
perhaps not a word.

Half The World

Only one shadow on the wall
Just one candle burning bright
I hold your picture to my heart
Im alone inside the night
The sun comes up in china ... the lights go on in rome
Half the world is waiting for someone they can hold
Half the world is praying theyll never be alone
Everytime you leave me a part of me goes too
And half your world is waiting here for you
I reach across an empty bed
I hear your whisper in my ear
But like the sun without the moon
Its half a dream without you here
The train that takes you from me
Brings somebody home
Half the world is waiting for someone they can hold
Half the world is praying theyll never be alone
Everytime you leave me a part of me goes too
And half your world is waiting here for you
Baby the earth stands still
When Im lying next to you
No matter where you go
Our whole worlds inside this room
The sun comes up in china
The lights go on in rome ... oh
Half the world is waiting for someone they can hold
Half the world is praying theyll never be alone
And everytime you leave me my heart breaks in two
And half the world is waiting here for you
Im waiting here for you ...

Let us have rice wine instead.

She Tells Her Love

She tells her love while half asleep,
In the dark hours,
With half-words whispered low:
As Earth stirs in her winter sleep
And put out grass and flowers
Despite the snow,
Despite the falling snow.

Half Ourselves

there is a broken jigsaw
that needs to be fixed
it is this heart and that heart
they are never at peace
- read the news -
are we just half ourselves?
the other half perhaps
we have to ask of it from - the divine
engineered as we are
only half ourselves
until we find the other half

May Smile On Arrival

Not only conch but hymns too
That is the only means to listen to as true
Hear or listen sacred names in the morning
Rest of the day may pass nice till the evening

Those things awaken the life
Otherwise it is like knife
It may cut man through both edges
Only faith and trust boosts him to manage

Why prayers are offered in the early hours?
Whole of the universe is fast asleep with fears
No one knows what can happen next day
So certainly the guidance is asked through prayers

If you are living near by church or mosques
You may hear it loudly when people are in queue
To offer their worship in wee hours
Some of the people may still be fast asleep on floors

Churches bell ring with clear sign
Mosques offering loudly regain
The presence of almighty is felt and aired
People may know it is time for prayers to be offered

The poem is not to speak about what you do
How you do and in which way you feel true?
It is just an indication of lovely signal
That fortune may smile on its arrival

Dear wife

I work so hard
I have no time for supper, breakfast, and dinner
Got a cracker and a noodle
A little solid a little hot liquid Are enough since I need a lot of time
Before my computer And this is non-stop working for the whole day
My cell phone is on silent mode and I cannot open it
I work the whole day, concentrated and straight It is eleven o’clock in the evening I arrive in the house and you say a lot of things I do not care anymore as I drag my dead tired body Towards the room and eyes half-closed I almost stepped upon your expensive porcelain vase
I lay on bed my shoes and sock still on my feet I did know anything since then Dead tired I am dead asleep.
If you are unhappy and do not like me
Find the man who is not tired, just leave me I am dead asleep.
i am just your loving husband, tomorrow i will still be your loving husband, yes tomorrow, even if you decided to go away.

Angina Pectoris

If half my heart is here, doctor,
the other half is in China
with the army flowing
toward the Yellow River.
And, every morning, doctor,
every morning at sunrise my heart
is shot in Greece.
And every night,c doctor,
when the prisoners are asleep and the infirmary is deserted,
my heart stops at a run-down old house
in Istanbul.
And then after ten years
all i have to offer my poor people
is this apple in my hand, doctor,
one read apple:
my heart.
And that, doctor, that is the reason
for this angina pectoris--
not nicotine, prison, or arteriosclerosis.
I look at the night through the bars,
and despite the weight on my chest
my heart still beats with the most distant stars.

(or twice)
had listened
to
(or more)

a son
i heard
now speak
who wouldn’t
speak before

today it was
the first time
that my son
would speak
