Those Clutching Fists
They followed him
To the brink of disaster.
Certain their lives were threatened
By forces coming to undo their way of life!
He labelled the 'enemies' with faces to implant.
He encouraged them with 'fear'!
He promised victory was near.
And when he was forced to remove his mask...
He could no longer conceal,
A disturbing expression on his face that revealed...
Not only 'shock' but also tears,
That received no 'awe' from those clutching fists...
And highly 'pissed' they could believe in one,
Who's 'gifts' have been only to deceive!

Because the mask is your face, the face is a mask, so I'm thinking of the face as a mask because of the way I see faces is coming from an African vision of the mask which is the thing that we carry around with us, it is our presentation, it's our front, it's our face.

The Mask
You wear a mask upon your face
So people wont know of your sin and disgrace
Or of the things that you have said and done
And of the life you have ended and then again begun.
You cover up your lines and all of your tears
So no one can see the worries and your fears
Or of the anger and the hate that's on your face
So upon your face a mask you did paste.
But I wonder if anyone really does know
The color of your cheeks or the shape of your nose
Or the saddened bags underneath your eyes
From the guilt you felt from the tears of your lies.
And when you meet people I wonder do they stare
Maybe they think to themselves, who is really behind there
But then you don't care what people might say or ask
As you can conceal all, when you wear your mask.
And so that mask you will wear till your dying days
As it will become you in so many very different ways
But one day in death your mask it will then be removed
Then man and all will stand in sadness, as they see the real you.

Keep It Revealed
Don't be my love,
Only when you feel it.
Feel it wherever you are,
My love.
And wherever you are,
Don't conceal it.
Keep it revealed.
Scented flowers do not stop their scents.
The Sun will always carry its brightness,
When our eyes are closed at night.
The Moon we share is not only there for us.
Nor is the air we breathe,
Awaiting for the trees,
To allow its leaves to feel the breeze.
Don't be my love,
Only when you feel it.
Feel it wherever you are,
My love.
And wherever you are,
Don't conceal it.
Keep it revealed.
Let each touch be meant,
To send tenderness received.
Let our eyes openly communicate,
A connection understood we appreciate,
And in our hearts believe.
Let each kiss ignite that flame,
Never to leap to another's lips.
Let the love made that we make,
Never freeze from the heat we keep.
Don't be my love,
Only when you feel it.
Feel it wherever you are,
My love.
And wherever you are,
Don't conceal it.
Keep it revealed.
Keep it revealed.
Keep it...
Revealed.

The Refugees
In the shabby train no seat is vacant.
The child in the ripped mask
Sprawls undisturbed in the waste
Of the smashed compartment. Is their calm extravagant?
They had faces and lives like you. What was it they possessed
That they were willing to trade for this?
The dried blood sparkles along the mask
Of the child who yesterday possessed
A country welcomer than this.
Did he? All night into the waste
The train moves silently. The faces are vacant.
Have none of them found the cost extravagant?
How could they? They gave what they possessed.
Here all the purses are vacant.
And what else could satisfy the extravagant
Tears and wish of the child but this?
Impose its canceling terrible mask
On the days and faces and lives they waste?
What else are their lives but a journey to the vacant
Satisfaction of death? And the mask
They wear tonight through their waste
Is death's rehearsal. Is it really extravagant
To read in their faces: What is there we possessed
That we were unwilling to trade for this?

Messages
A message has been received,
And I have bought it
From my own riches called life.
The cage of despair is my life
When someone has taken the object
I seem to conceal.
A fierce wall must be penetrated
For the disaster to erupt
In front of all heaven that rocks.
A message has been received by those
Who preach and teach,
They will never freeze their thoughts;
Instead they just learn.

Introducing Doubt To Weaken
Remove I've done,
From a confinement to undo.
And to choose to escape,
From perceptions...
Time,
Has taught me to erase.
Remove I've done,
The faking of false faces.
Kept to do,
In fear that I would offend someone...
And masquerading in pretense,
Would find my presence more accepted.
Remove I've done,
Notions of impressions to give.
And to strip myself to expose my identity,
Has meant more to more...
Than the approval of someone lessened,
By a harboring of their own hidden insecurities.
Removed from me I have done,
Those kinds of deliberating limitations.
Introducing doubt to weaken,
My desire to live my life...
Free of anyone's ability,
To qualify the passing of their judgements.
That action,
Is not invited or solicited in defining my life...
Lived the way it has been intended.

Complicated Disaster
COMPLICATED DISASTER
She knows about me
I heard about your secret life
She thinks that youre a family man
You got two babies and a wife.
I never thought you'd sink this love
(Would did you have to paint a picture)
Two many lovers in this wrong
I'm suffocating.
Chorus:
And now youre standing in front of me
Begging me not to leave
Complicated disaster
And as I struggle to understand
What we came over with
Promised me ever after
I turned our way but I keep wrong
Youre all that I remember.
It's been three hours
Since she shared her story in this room
She seems like such a gentle girl
You came and left her much too soon.
She said it lasted just six months
(But I could feel her devastation)
The fear of being completely wrong
Has taken over.
Chorus
All the plans we were making
Just got washed away with the tears
I'm drowning but you cant save me this time
No no, complicated disaster.
And as I struggle to understand
What we came over with
Promised me ever after
I turned our way but I keep wrong, oh no.
Chorus

Myself
As i lay here listless or lifeless
Well lifeless cause i'm not sure what listless means
Feelings of emptiness and sorrow
Excuse me are you listening do you have some life i can borrow
Trying to find wheres my place
Enough is enough can i remove this mask from my face
I want to be some one different now
I have tried this one far to long
Can i play another song
One that's words i can sing along
Now that life you said you would lend me
You said today cause you have plenty
Stand back and brace
For i am about to reveal wait there is no haste
So where is this life you said i could borrow
Don't make me wait it will be raining tomorrow
For i am lifeless you see
I want what you promised not your sympathy
Questions are running through your head
A voice cries i thought you were dead
So where is this life you promised me
Was it just words you said to me
Time has come to show my face
Will i be excepted by a race
A race that was lost when i masked my face
So maybe i am lifeless not listless
And maybe not only lifeless
But no i'm just myself
Look Into My Eyes, Please
It is me you see again
I, from behind the mask am free
Look into my eyes, then tell me
Have I changed or am I the same?
This strange, sad pair belonging to
Too many faces, but one only
Remains within each shattered frame
Longing, longing not to be afraid...
That I might be becoming
The dream I have been dreaming
But you, you gave me the mask
The mask! Oh, I thought you knew
Because of this I withdrew from you
This disguise of mine it grew until
I cared too little to see revealed
The true identity I had concealed...
For the soul does not depend
On appearances only, but then
I was confused and very frightened
Of what reflected through this countenance
As God's expression is seen through nature
So is being the meaning of gesture
And I entrusted to this language
An explanation without words to the dance...
There must be other value
Than that which first greets the eye
With pleasure for its given form
demanding that share of attention due
And trading for a brief piece of mind
The mask I have worm, grieved and scorned
Like a spell, hence the stain is removed
When cleansed by your loving anodyne
I am from this enchantment form...

Remove These Obstacles
Remove these obstacles,
I have now on my path.
I wish to attract happiness...
With a peace of mind,
Coming to find me at last!
I refuse to submit,
To disappointments and hardships.
That past I dismiss with a resistance to conflicts.
And detailed to welcome that,
As a fact of life made for me legit!
Remove I will burdens carried on my back!
I am choosing not to identify,
Confrontations on my path...
I must endure all my life!
I refuse to submit,
To disappointments and hardships.
That past I once lived,
I now dismiss!
Remove these obstacles,
From my mind.
Where I've encouraged their nourishment,
And given them reason to exist!
Remove these obstacles!
Remove them...
I insist!

Healed Forever
To all men, Christ was revealed, so man could be spiritually healed,
Fully healed from the curse of sin, that has corrupted all men within.
It was the very heart of man, that was lead to stray from God’s plan,
On the day that Satan did deceive, the man through the woman Eve.
Man from God was then separated, something not at all anticipated,
When Eve listened to the one, who’d go on and oppose God’s Son,
Posing warfare, of a spiritual kind, to deceive man’s heart and mind.
Thus bringing death to bear on all, who are cursed from Adam’s fall.
But, on that day God declared, that Christ His Son would be spared,
As the serpent would be hushed, when by His Son, he’d be crushed.
Although Christ would see death, God alone would revive His breath,
While He destroys Satan eternally, in Christ’s victory for you and me.
Man being dead in trespass and sin, needs from God change within,
So God sent His Son to the cross, to save all men from eternal loss.
From those stripes Christ received, healed are all men who believed,
In the Lord God’s atoning sacrifice, for all men through Jesus Christ.
Through His Son’s pain and strife, men receive from God, a new life,
When in The Son we’re renewed, God’s Power in believers is ensued.
All this as we’re healed spiritually, from the bloody cross of Calvary,
With power received, from on high, being born of God, never to die.

Mask Of Fear
They say that fear is dreadful.
They say that fear destroys us.
They say that fear induces only pain.
They say that fear is horrifying.
These are what they say,
But I tell you,
All these are just the outer mask of fear.
A society is disciplined. Why?
‘cause we fear the law.
A child listens to his elders.
‘cause he fears them.
You listen to your loved ones.
But of course,
People would disagree that fear is responsible for it.
They say it’s the power of love,
They say it’s coz of our love for them.
But think!
Why should we listen to our loved ones?
Is it just coz we love them?
No. I say no,
Coz again it is out of fear that you do it,
But fear for what?
You fear that you’d make your love unhappy,
You fear that you’d lose your love.
Fear prevents chaos is a society,
If it wasn’t for our fear for the law,
Our lives would’ve been in chaos
So open your eyes,
Perceive the term fear with care,
Coz many of you’ve failed to see what is behind the mask of fear.
A mask, if taken away,
Shows that fear is a guide towards discipline and justice.

Give Them That Right To Stand Out And Shine
When one begins a life,
Of obvious habitual lieing...
They should be encouraged to continue.
Nothing of merit to be labelled credible,
Will be coming from them anyway.
So why should anyone assume,
These people do not have mental issues?
And can be rehabilitated,
To fit in a dysfunctional society like the rest of us!
Give them that right to stand out and shine!

Fear is inherent
Boldness is a mask for fear;
Kindness too.
Anger is a mask for fear;
Prayer too.
To appease is a mask for fear;
To please too.
Fear is inherent in life
Like water in living bodies.

Unconditional war can no longer lead to unconditional victory. It can no longer serve to settle disputes. It can no longer be of concern to great powers alone. For a nuclear disaster, spread by winds and waters and fear, could well engulf the great and the small, the rich and the poor, the committed and the uncommitted alike. Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind.

Facade (a tritina)
So many have come to dwell behind a panarchy mask
Lost between the delusive dimensions of identity
Unable to perceive that which is deemed real
They dare not throw aside the caparison that veils the real
Lest those that wish to deceive and to mask
Would reveal the abstersive truth of their own identity
Yet if all would but don the verisimilitude of their identity
Then the shadows cast would corrivate into the real
And no longer would there lie merit within a mask
Are you the mask of your identity or are you real?

She'll hide her face
She'll hide her face when shes not alone.
she slaps on her a mask, but its not her own.
It's the mask that everyone else wears.
She wants to be just like them
supposedly free with glee.
Free from her troubles, worries and strife.
Free from her demons that dominate her life.
But when the darkness falls.
And she's all her alone she can't hide her face.
Her mask falls and crumbles apart.
Her heart fills with the numbness she's had for many years.
Now her tears will fall she's all alone.
In her last bid for a better life,
She let the mask slip once.
She had to put it on again as they stared at her in disbelife.
The world didn't want to see her pain.
Rather belives she's an annoying pain.
So Her mask went back on.
Well she planned the day when she'd be gone.

No Longer Ignored
Of my life, God is in control, saved by Christ, from Adam’s fall,
But also my Lord’s in control, of the unrepentant, big and small.
The Savior controls my destiny, for Christ gave me life eternally,
He too controls the final breath, of all destined for eternal death.
The Savior has prepared for me, a place above through Eternity,
But, for cohorts of the eternal liar, a place below; the lake of fire.
God’s Grace and Mercy I received, when in the Savior I believed,
But to all men Satan will deceive, final judgment they will receive.
He is Creator and Eternal Judge, so from His Truth I won’t budge,
As others may scoff and jeer, for unbelieving souls have no fear,
Of Eternal God, who reigns above, each soul on earth I speak of,
And all men shall be accountable, as The Word Christ does fulfill.
It is God’s Truth that I embrace, as a sinner, saved through Grace,
Believing Truths that I have heard, Truths revealed in God’s Word,
But, many others see not a need, so God’s Truth they don’t heed,
And revealed Truths by our Lord, by many continue to go ignored.
Final Judgment isn’t God’s desire, but, soon His Grace will expire,
When all indifference to Jesus Christ, shall not continue in this life,
No longer just living as they please, but, now upon bended knees,
Confessing Jesus Christ as Lord, as Truth no longer goes ignored.

Undo The Right
(willie nelson/hank cochran)
If you cant say you love me say you hate me
And that you regret each time you held me tight
If you cant be mine forever then forsake me
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
It was right when you loved me only
But wrong when you held another tight
So before you go away and leave me lonely
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
Its too late to say your heart is filled with sorrow
You cant undo whats done
Why do you try
So please so I can face the new tomorrow
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
Its too late to say your heart is filled with sorrow
You cant undo whats done
Why do you try
So please so I can face the new tomorrow
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
