This I Accept

This I accept...
As you have introduced and proposed,
To those who you wish to show me as,
One who holds an independent stance...
With a thinking process exposed.

This I accept...
I can only admit I am guilty.
With a regularity I defend.
And you can depend upon my unsolicited opinion.
To give whether or not it offends.

Without Thinking

I had been asked to give my opinion.
And expressed a reluctance to give it.
When my reluctance offended,
I went ahead to give my opinion...
Without thinking I would be challenged,
To defend it.
Or argue my right to express it.
Especially if requested.
That's why with lessons learned today,
I do not accept request to express my thoughts.
Whether they are solicited or not to convey.
With a keeping of my peace of mind addressed.

Accept my sympathy

In all sincerity
It is a pathetic pity
I merely offer sympathy
With such velocity
This sadness born out of the blue
That decides to levy itself on you

In your fixed stillness
I sense your illness
Accept my sympathy

You lost a pet
Somebody made you upset
Accept my sympathy

You lost a friend
Your broken heart is yet to mend
Accept my sympathy

You were once abused
Possibly at times wrongly accused
Accept my sympathy

You marriage is on the rocks
You got divorced, left without a buck
Accept my sympathy

You lost a fortune
Your voice can't sing a decent tune
Accept my sympathy

You lost in love or lost your job
Or perhaps at one stage got robbed
Accept my sympathy

Your life is a mess
Everything around you depresses

Whatever the circumstances
Accept my sympathy
And if I happen to show no sympathy
Please accept my sympathy!

You Have No Idea How Deeply I Love

I will give you the shirt off my back.
The shoes off my feet.
Even my last dollar,
I need desperately.
I am compassionate to a fault.

And I will be guilty,
That I admit.

But show me any indication,
You can treat me with continued...
Indignation.
And I will freeze up on you,
As if you have awakened for a long visit...
At the North Pole.

And I will be guilty,
That I admit.

If 'ever' you decide,
You want to test what I've got inside...
Be prepared to shiver.
Because to you will be a cold breeze,
From me I will be quick to deliver.
You have no idea how deeply I love!

And I will be guilty,
That I admit.

I have been taught,
By the best of teachers!

It's Mine to Own

Just give me my prize!
For a life lived...
Both bold and wise.

Just give me my prize!
Un-itemized it.
It's mine to own.

Just give me my prize.
I accept it.
Now I can connect.
Inside...
I connect it.
Now I can accept.
Those feelings I cried...
With heartache.
Deep in my chest!

I accept it.
Now I can connect.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.

Just give me my prize!
I accept it.
Now I can connect.
Inside...
I accept it.
Now I can connect.

Those feelings I cried...
With heartache.
Deep in my chest!

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
Just give me my prize!
Un-itemized it.
It's mine to own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
It's mine to own.
I accept it.
Now I can connect.
It's mine to own.

Just,
Give me my prize I accept it.
It's mine to own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
My own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
My own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
My own.

Just give me my prize,
I accept it.
It's mine alone!

Because I Must

It wasn't me who introduced distrust.
To accept that as an advantage.
With an acceptance to lust.

And as successful as you have been at this,
I empathize with you.
But there is no 'us'.

I admit to moments of wishing things differently.
But you have made it clear...
I should not dwell in providing you a bit of sympathy.

With a determination,
To stay in prayer and keep away.
And forgive and forget,
Whatever our closeness then had meant.

Without added stress or revisited torment.
In a dismissing of mental anguish...
Delivered and sent.

Because I must of you not trust!
Because I must of you not trust,
Again...
What it is you say.
Or do to defend.

To Finally Accept The Process

As much as I hesitated,
And debated with myself...
To finally accept the process,
I 'allowed' myself to age.
Yes!

I 'allowed' myself to do this in stages.
Since I did not want to become overwhelmed,
By an event I was not sure I wanted to attend.
Although others I viewed seemed surprised by it too...
With a protesting shown and much unhappiness.

However, unlike them...
I decided I would not get too comfortable,
With any stage that came to end.
Some chose a stage with a wish to stay.
And fighting with themselves along the way.

I even witnessed others,
Doing their best to prevent maturity.
None physically succeeded,
But mentally...
Many could easily claim a success.

As much as I hesitated,
And debated with myself...
To finally accept the process,
I 'allowed' myself to age.
Yes!

And as each day passes,
I feel more and more blessed.
I no longer feel I should 'allow' this process.
Since I now do it without thinking about it,
With an acceptance felt for me that is best.

Acting As If Having An Intelligence

It took me awhile,
To understand those...
Who saw life in denial.
But as I thought about them...
And being mentally conditioned myself,
To accept limitations...
With an acting as if having an intelligence,
Would actually offend others?
I completely understand now,
Why so many accept staying ignorant.

Trying to impress with a thought process offends.
You see...
This is what I've come to understand,
Life becomes less challenging...
When those 'known' to be ignorant,
Are not held accountable for their actions.
And those who are labelled 'intelligent'...
Are expected to be responsible AND accountable,
For 'everything' those who choose to see life in denial...
With the doing of the most 'stupidest' things to be excused.

A self proclaimed Iconoclast

When preaching to the multitudes
He taught by means of parable
to make it understandable.
Not merely mouthing platitudes.

Religious leaders of today.
Who have risen to prominence
would view it as great offence.
If you should question what they say.

You ask but they do not reply.
You are supposed to just accept
the rules they make as your precept.
A code of conduct to live by.

They daren’t admit they know no more
than you do. Maybe even less
of what they’re trying to express.
A fact they easily ignore.

Too busy building their career
and striving hard to make their name.
To most it’s just a power game.
It’s sad but it is true I fear.

Their myths and legends based upon
the simple truth which was once taught
corrupted now by after thought.
are merely man’s opinion.

They cannot teach what they don’t know.
Although they keep up the pretense
they can produce no evidence.
To show they know the way to go.

Relying on our ignorance.
We are brain washed in early youth
that our religion holds the truth.
There’s little room for tolerance.

You cannot force men to accept
that your way is the only way.
That’s why we’re in a mess today
The leaders of each church reject.

That tolerance can lead the way
to lasting peace and brotherhood
and put an end to shedding blood.
Admit that they have been led astray.

By bigots now and in the past.
Though not a prophet I forsee
no ending to the misery.
A self proclaimed iconoclast.

Regression Is the Term

Recession?
How about complete retreat,
From telling lies and deception?
Truth?
There is nothing like it!
However...
How is that introduced?
When none of that has ever been exposed!
Who will believe it?
When minds have been overdosed,
And eyes once shown...
Prefer to stay shut and closed!
Recession?
When something has been squeezed,
With nothing else from it to be released?
Regression is the term,
With a valued lesson from it to be learned.
And a life once lived to feed one's greed...
Shall never back to that kind of life
Will one return!
And that has been the diagnosis!
Accept it or not!
Delusions will still remain the choice,
If one should decide on getting a second opinion!
Or a third.
Or perhaps a fourth!
The truth comes without options.

Self Betrayed

A new day.
And yet...
The same people,
Use fresh excuses.
Without delay...
Although in denial and self betrayed,
They portray themselves...
As ready to accept whatever it is they must.
But they distrust and fear being exposed by reality!
And whatever is done they do,
Is not connected to solving solutions.
And common sense to them has not been introduced.
They refuse to see themselves as the ones with problems!

Validity

i will accept the validity
of your religious view when...
you lay down your guns,
and start feeding the hungry!

i will accept the validity
of your political view when...
by your actions you show your primary
concerns to be poverty and homelessness.

i will accept the validity
of your freedom when...
it applies equally to all,
regardless of skin color.

i will accept the validity
of your humanitarian view when...
you take all men as brothers,
and walk with compassion.

Chromosomes

There seems to be
Such an immaturity
When sexuality becomes a topic.
Being a lesbian or homosexual
Ignites an exciting conversation...
Of those who accept or oppose.
And the nonsense about this...
Everyone has both male and female,
Chromosomes!
Chromos aren't we all?
Being battered by a childish stuntedness.
Some do their best to give 'straightness'
Their 'testless' appearance.
Showing their frustrations...
Going through dating contests.
It's all quite funny,
To even think sex is sold for money.
And the importance that it is given...
When who cares who gives away what to whom?
If that wasn't done no one would be here!
Especially those who go through the motions...
Denying their 'chromos' are in the atmosphere.
And believe they qualify to give their opinion,
About who 'is' and who 'isn't.
When they have not committed to anyone,
Who wishes to have them around!
It's unbelievable this ignorance still exists!
They have no spouses.
Never been married...legally.
No significant other who would bother.
And there to say who is straight or gay!
Hoping an aging process slows...
As to allow their curiousities to manifest a taste!
In some darkened place!
But still they wont admit to being 'chromos'!

Reach Out, Ill Be There

(brian holland/lamont dozier/edward holland,jr.)
If you feel that you cant go on
cause all your hope is gone
And your life is filled with confusion
And hapiness is just an illusion
And your world around is tumblin down
Darling, reach out
Reach out, reach out
Ill give you all the love you need
Ill be there
You can always depend on me
I can tell by the way you hang your head
Your with out of love, now youre afraid
And through your tears you look around
But theres no peace of mind to be found
I know what youre thinking
Youre alone now, no love of your own
Darling, reach out
Reach out for me boy
Ill give you all the love you need
Ill be there
Hey baby, Im gonna be right there
You can always depend on me
You can always, depend on me
You can always, when things get tough
You can always, cuddle mee, see you through
You can always, depend on me
Whatever else you do
You can always, ring my phone
Yeah, you can always catch me at home
You can always cuddle me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
You can always depend on me
When youre lost and about to give up
cause your best aint good enough
And you feel the world has grown cold
And youre driftin on your own
When you need a hand to hold
When you need a little love
Reach out, Ill be there
Reach out, Ill be there
Reach out, Ill be there
To give you all the love you need
Ill try ro give you all the love you need
Ill be there to love and shelter you
Ill be there to always see you through
To give you all the love you need
Im gonna give you all the love you need
Ill be there to love and shelter you
Ill be there to always see you through
To give you all the love you need
Im gonna give you all the love you need
Ill be there...

When I Write

When I write,
I do my best...
To incite an insight!
Some may not like.
But I seek a comprehension.
Not to revisit...
A safety zone,
Already known.
Or one that has been mentioned.

And when I write,
I choose to test...
A curiosity,
Within me...
That does not sit and rest.

I want to produce seeds of understanding.
And in the doing...
Even I am not thoroughly delighted,
By what I have to admit...
Is a bunch of 'horseshhhiftivities'
From that which I have sown.
When I write!

'Horseshiftivities is not a word! '

I've entitled this poem 'When-I-Write'
Not 'Give-me-Your-Unsolicited-Opinion'.

'Did you or did you 'not' ask me to read it? '

AND not a thing more did I ask!
Did I?

'Correct.'

But you must admit,
That 'horseshifting' business drew you in,
Right?

'No,
Not really.
I knew if I didn't read it...
You wouldn't allow me to leave.
Then I would have to deal with much more,
Than just this 'horseshift' on your shoulders! '
