The Ringmaster

It has not been declared as official yet,
Since the tophat is still being passed around.
A couple of the candidates who have adorned it,
Could easily be the ringmaster.
I was there during the auditions.

But only one can truly represent,
That presence under the tent.
With a connection to attract with appeal...
And diversity!
To convince the majority of the people,
That this coming circus is viable and worthy...
Of giving our support with a more focused attention.

And the best ringmaster chosen,
Will ensure the people will do what it takes...
To turn perceptions around.

'I think we are talking about two different things here! '

Oh?

'Yes.
I had asked...
What event do you most look forward to,
Without debate...
That solidifies the way you will be voting.'

What response were you anticipating?
I am a circus fan.
And I always thought it had been the clowns the kids favor.
But no!
It's the ringmaster.
Who knew?
Did you?

'I...uh...
I am a reporter.
On a different news assignment.'

Well...
It's a good thing you didn't ask me,
To give my opinion regarding politics or religion.
I've learned to leave both out of my conversations.
Neither one I could speak about,
With a giving of an expertise.

Re-Entry

[ringmaster:] "step right up, step right up everyone. whether you're good or bad, happy or sad,
whether you're an emotional wreck, or a blissful speck in the black hole of an existance we
call life. step right up, and witness something you will be soon to never forget. feast your
ears on the most ferociously soothing waves of sonic communication to ever be created. built
for you by the master..."
[fred:] "hey!"
[ringmaster:] "...built for you by the mast..."
[fred:] "hey, shutup already, what is it?"
[ringmaster:] "what is it?"
[fred:] "um... yeah, dog. what is it?"
[ringmaster:] "what is it?"
[fred:] "dude, chill man."
[ringmaster:] "it... is limp bizkit!"

Life Gets More Exciting

I did not wake up one day
And decided I would be 60 years old.
Each one of those years I earned,
With an observation learned.
And life gets more exciting...
As my mind beholds the unfolding.
However...
There is something I have experienced,
I thought I would never live to see!
Clowns establishing their homebase...
In Washington, D.C.
And doing the best they can,
To turn the entire world into a private circus!
With an audience totally entranced...
As the ringmaster introduces a replacement
To provide thrills to keep them seated...
Without objecting to any ridiculous event!
No matter what the cost.

Melodramatic

No?
You are NOT a comedian?
But I must admit...
Much in your life you regard as serious,
I find hysterical.
And it doesn't make you crack a smile either?
How you manage to tolerate the same BS,
Day after day with a straight face is funny!
And you are serious too! ?
That IS a good routine...
But stop it!
Use that shuffle you do in the beginning...?
Put that towards the middle,
And that sad drooping face at the end!
Your neighbors are using your material,
As well.
My sides are splitting!
You all should take this act on the road.
Update it.
But adding more clowns is not a good idea!
And blaming the ringmaster...
Makes for good theater.
However,
This circus you're in could use a bit more cheer!
It's great stuff though!
Your purpose to attract empathy,
Is really too melodramatic...
And your audience will not find that clear!

Break Free

Break free...
Of redundancy redone,
With done deeds!
Loosen up and retire,
From strategies that freeze!
Give up...
On the purpose,
To stay the ringmaster of your circus!
Enjoy and refresh!
Redress your life with finesse,
And break free and maneuver.
Turn that mess around and feel blessed!

Crazy Circus (just a wrap)

Crazy Circus (just a wrap)

We’re runnin’ like chickens with our heads cut off,
Squealing like piggies round the old food trough,
Stuck on a treadmill and we can’t get off,
It’s a crazy circus

Lost and confused, walkin in a trance,
Common sense needs a second chance,
But time is runnin out gotta change our stance,
Such a crazy circus

Just lookin’ for respect we think we know
But the real truth is you reap what you sow

Under the bigtop we’re up on the stage
Spillin’ and killin’ lost in a rage
Why can’t we just turn the page
Of this crazy circus

Strutin’ our stuff actin’ real cool
Posin’ in the mirror ready for a duel
Now who do you think is the real fool
What a crazy circus

The old ringmaster we’re the main attraction
Always lookin’ for some kind of action
Spinnin’ our wheels losin’ our traction
In this crazy circus

Just lookin’ for respect we act like we know
But the real truth is you reap what you sow

Ludicrous Tricks!

What democracy would breed
Devastation upon its own people?
And to segregate its citizens,
To have some perceive...
They should have better lives,
Because this is what
They have been led to believe.

And to isolate in divisions,
To spread hunger and helplessness.
In a self righteousness...
That digresses all the people,
To endure conflicts
Promoting fear and unrest!

Whose freedom is protected,
When a few selected benefit.
As a quality of life...
Diminishes with this sickness.

And what respect for leadership,
Can be expected from the youth observiing this?
Especially when they mature to know...
What they've been told,
Has been based on lies and ludicrous tricks!

Revered from the pulpits.
And supported by the government!
With a clown assigned to 'play' ringmaster.
Who sets fire to their circus tent!

Circus Time

The 'Big Top' is so radiant with wide stripes of red and green,
The atmosphere is 'electric' and rousingly noisy at the scene,
Elephants are trumpeting, as if they want to say 'hello',
Crowds restlessly gathering, impatient to watch the show.

A hush descends around the 'ring' in such anticipation,
What's coming first, eager faces wide eyed with fascination,
Clowns tumbling into the limelight, how the people cheer,
Their costumes are extraordinary, so colourful and queer.

With antics so adorable, we have to all applaud,
Their comedy, and all their props, we just cannot be bored,
Their faces brightly painted, with red noses and red lips,
With outsize boots, they stomp around, shouting out their quips.

The trapeze artist is introduced, a girl in a sparkling robe,
Ascends into the vast tent top, suspended on a globe,
She gives a great perfomance as the audience, Oooohh! ! and Aaarrhh! ! ,
Every time they think that, she will not quite catch the bar.

With a gallop and a canter, white horses come prancing in, who
Will trot around with their riders doing tricks, by jumping through
Hoops, and skipping with a rope on a moving horse's back,
Each horse knowing what to do, when they hear the long whip crack.

Elephants are wonderful, as they go through their routines,
They really look contented, well that is how it seems, .
These amazingly gentle creatures, one cannot but admire,
The way they do just as they're told, they really do inspire.

The ringmaster in his red waistcoat, and shiny black top hat,
Keeps the show progressing, he's so jolly, round and fat,
With his moustache that's very smart, and his merry glinting eyes,
He has everybody 'spellbound' with each new and grand surprise.

Now the show is almost over, and the arena's all but filled,
With all the acts, that have performed, each one notably billled,
To appear at this famous 'Circus' and show us their expertise,
So come again next year, with your tent, Mr Circus owner, please!

Wild Billys Circus Story

The machinist climbs his ferris wheel like a brave and the fire-eaters lyin in a pool of sweat victim of the heatwave,
Behind the tent the hired hand tightens his legs on the sword swallowers blade,
Circus towns on the shortwave
Well the runway lies ahead like a great false dawn,
Fat lady, big mama, missy bimbo sits in her chair and yawns,
And the man-beast lies in his cage sniffin popcorn and the midget licks his fingers and suffers missy bimbos scorn
Circus towns been born.
And a press roll drummer go, ballerina to-and-fro cartwheelin up on that tightrope,
With a cannon blast, lightin flash, movin fast through the tent, mars bent,
Hes gonna miss his fall, oh God save the human cannonball.
And the flying zambinis watch marguarita do her neck twist,
And the ringmaster gets the crowd to count along: 95, 96, 97.
A ragged suitcase in his hand, he steals silently away from the circus grounds,
And the highways haunted by the carnival sounds
They dance like a great greasepaint ghost on the wind,
A man in baggy pants, a lonely face, a crazy grin, runnin home to some small ohio town
Jesus, send some sweet women to save all your clowns
And circus boy dances like a monkey on barbed wire, and the barker romances with a junkie, shes got a flat tire,
And now the elephants dance real funky and the band plays like a jungle fire,
Circus towns on the live wire.
And the strong man sampson lifts the midget, little tiny tim, up on his shoulders, way up, and carries him on down the midway past the kids, past the sailors, to his dimly lit trailer,
And the ferris wheel turns and turns like it aint ever gonna stop,
And the circus boss leans over and whispers into the little boys ear, hey son you want to try the big top?
All aboard, nebraskas our next stop.

In the Giving There's A Benefit

To have awakened is a good thing to be!

And I have learned,
In the many years it has taken me to do it...
That the being there for someone else,
Will not automatically be interpretated...
As an appreciation to be shown one day,
With a reciprocation known that's received.

I have learned,
There will be many taking others for granted...
With a doing which is believed,
A duty to misuse someone dependable.
Until a reality hits and a doing this is missed.
And a waiting to sit by a telephone,
Wishing to hear it ring is a familiar sound gone.

I have learned,
In the giving there's a benefit.
And I have learned,
Those who give are not desperate.

To have awakened is a good thing to be.
And I have learned,
Those who give are not desperate.
I have learned,
In the giving there's a benefit.
And I have learned...
To leave alone,
Those who take for granted...
Someone giving up their time to misuse.

I have learned,
In the giving there's a benefit.
And I have learned...
Those who give are not desperate.
Oh yes I've learned...
To leave alone,
Those who take for granted...
Someone giving up their time to abuse.

Casting One's Own Shadow

Call your trip whatever you wish.
I've learned not to debate, argue...
Or 'franchise' anyone's opinion,
As if to make mine!
Nor do I agree to evaluate...
Someone's statement,
Whether a line given to solicit...
An opinion I've given in anything I've written.

I've learned an exchange of experiences,
Is not a possibility.
And I've learned this by listening.
And this many people seldom do.

I've been up and down too many times,
To discover my own comprehension...
About life.
My life and how 'my' life is connected.

When I found criticisms made of me by others...
'Added' to my understanding,
If right, wrong or indifferent when given...
I still had to brush my own teeth.
Walk on my own two feet!
And be accountable for my own actions.

I stopped making excuses,
When they began not to make sense to me.
I spent more time defending myself...
Instead of living my life.
And I began to do that...
When I started to appreciate myself.

And 'if' I was to give my advice to anyone...
AND...
I did say 'if'.
I would say this...
If anyone finds they are seeking acceptance,
On a path they have chosen to take...
It is not a path they have chosen.
How can it be?

How can someone declare something theirs,
When others can do the same thing thing?
If voices can be heard?
Footprints can be seen?
And the path one takes has already been paved?
That is following...
Not casting,
One's own shadow!

I do not wish,
I demand people to get out of my light.
What would be the point,
If I am patiently waiting for someone else to decide...
Whether or not they want to move out of it?
That kind of time I am not giving to anyone!
Period.

I've learned many lessons.

Part Of Life, That is

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.
Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

Stuck with sticking emotions felt in my gut...
Unable to abandon them.
Or give them up...
Had been a place I'd been,
Back then.
With no one but myself...
And faith,
To help me slowly break away...
Of a hold I had on them to mend.

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

I have learned to feel grief deeply,
Where it is felt.
Let it visit.
And then from it to leave!
Not to forget the process...
But to breathe!

Remembering...
With an agony upon my letting go,
Knowing what I felt was painful...
It was also,
Part of life!

A part of life,
That is!

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.
Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

Save The Tiger

As a child when I went to the circus,
Though I loved the clowns and the acrobats,
I hated when the ringmaster made the animals act
And do unnatural things,
To tickle human beings.
As the tiger came out of the cage,
You could see he was in rage.

On a visit to the zoo,
Seeing the tiger roam,
I often wondered,
How does it feel
To be uprooted from your natural habitat.
The frustration was writ large on the face of the royal cat.

On growing up, and on a visit to
A family friend’s farm house,
I used to squirm to see walls decorated with tiger skins
And the conversation full of anecdotes of the kill.
I often wonder
Is that why it’s becoming extinct.

We really had no right to kill
For pleasure or greed,
Every creature has a place in the scheme of things
It’s sad today the tiger tops the list of endangered species.

I still remember the poem by Blake,
Which I read in the seventh grade.
The day is not far when those famous stripes
Will just adorn the rags of designer lines.

Parents Vs Children

Things that i don't understand in this world is that why do some people
get into relationship, getting married, enjoying life and making love.
But when it comes to children or when they already have kids, they
could not accept their responsibilities as parents. They do have
regrets of having kids especially if the kids are naughty, giving problem
or giving them headaches. They always beating, shouting, saying bad words to the kids saying wish you never exist, wish you never been born.
Instead of being calm, giving advice, doing good things which would make their children happy and be proud to have good parents.
Instead of thinking good ideas which would make them close to each other
.
Child is a child, they need more time with their parents. They need
attention, care, and love. Children are curious to everything, they need
to know antyhing as part of growing up. They need the guidance of
parents, but what I see nowadays is different. Parents just give material things to show their love for their kids.

Some parents just go out to parties, shopping, prefer to hang out with their friends rather than their kids. Then they just leave the children
to the nannies/babysitter.
Parents make their children be far from them instead children to get
close to the nannies who always there for them and give the love to the children. Parents must be a role model for the children, but what i see
now is that children do as what their parents do, they become more liberated.

There are also some parents who give up for their children. Some choose their own happiness, they don't like to stay at home with their kids. especially if thier husband dont have time for them too. the tendency, both couple would have a problem that result to divorce.
Where is the love that they shared? where is the promises and vows they had?

My Expertise Is In Politics

There was a promise you made.
With the giving to the people,
Of your word you would keep...
Our interests kept as your priority.

Everything you said would be concised and clear.
Free of frivolity...
And you'd make your policies precise and sincere.
Letting people who elected you,
First to have your ear.

However...
As soon as you were sworn into office,
You quickly disappeared.
Do you have an explanation for this.
Please,
By all means.
Your response is what we wish to hear.

'Sure!
And...
You are most deserving.

My fellow countrymen...
Men, women and children alike.
Well...
It is like this,
You asked if I had an explanation?
Explanations I do not make.

My expertise is in politics.
What more did you expect?
That I would be as honest as those...
You helped me in my campaign to eliminate,
Are you kidding?
I have a reputation to protect.

Clear the way for my entourage, please.
Thank you.
And...
Good luck! '

But...
We elected you.

'See my press secretary.
We'll ensure each and everyone of you,
Receives a signed 8 by 10 glossy.'

Pretty Vision

I saw a vision
Little boy
You covered up your own insights
But I may have held your hand
Or seen the ghost you tried to fight
Oh a vision
Little boy
You strayed down to find the clowns
Oh and when I wrote these lines for you
Not, not one of them was found
Blame the circus and the clowns
Before you blame yourself
Cause when your greatest needs go unforgiven
And your gifts go unreceived
Little boy
Man of need
Who could know that the road would fall
Not me not one of us
That surrounds your golden walls
So now blame the circus and the clowns
Before you blame yourself
Cause all your greatest needs go unforgiven
All your gifts go unreceived
Who could know of the fall
Who could slow the speed
Who could hold your hand
We all laughed and thought you were so free
Vision boy
Man of need
Oh do the monkeys get you down
Oh they promise you the dance of life
Complete with laughters crown
Little boy
Man of need
Did you find the freak show and a crowd
I said cut the canvas on the tent
Oh we were all innocent
Blame the circus and the clowns
Before you blame yourself
When your greatest needs go unforgiven
And your gifts go unreceived
Oh your greatest needs go unforgiven
And your gifts they go unreceived
Little boy
Man of need

The Democratic Circus

Found out this morning
Theres a circus coming to town
They drive in cadillacs
Using walkie-talkies, and the secret service
Their big top
Imitation of life
And all the flags and microphones
We have to cover our eyes
We play the sideshows
And we like the tunnel of love
And when we ride the ferris wheel
Were little children again
And when theyre asking for volunteers
Well be the first ones aboard
And when the ringmaster calls our names
Well be the first ones to go ... to sleep
Stealing all our dreams
Dreams for sale
They sell em back to you
On with the show
Start the parade
We sand along
Sweep us away
Its political party time
Going down, going down
And the celebrities all come out
Coming down, coming down, coming...
The sun is going down
And the dogs are starting to howl
We stay out after dark
Eating cotton candy
And the musics playing...
How we all laughed!
We split our sides
The cameras flashed
We almost died!
The rains gonna pour on down, falling out of the sky
Coming down, coming down
And the celebrities all run out, and the rains
Coming down, coming down
Gonna rain,
Gonna rain, gonna rain
Gonna rain, gonna rain,
Rain, rain
Rain, rain
And now I wonder whos boss
And who hes leavin behind?

This Family

The picture you paint
Is so wonderfully great
Don’t dare look in a mirror you’d faint
This family’s the furthest thing from great
You scraped all the love off our plate
They say family’s the worst thing to ever happen to you
That very moment I heard it I instantly knew it’s true
You people play so godly, go to church and pray
When truth is you’re just good actors
putting on a play
Not everyone’s this way, the good ones are minority
While the bad ones who need to change are majority
Every family has its ups and downs, smiles and frowns
And occasional stupid clowns
This family has too much; it’s not a circus so stop the act
The best thing you need but don’t have
Is a heart which you people lack
Don’t look in a mirror
Look in one another
Watch the picture you paint
See it, it looks so great

Within Cliques of Gossips

There are those programmed and convinced...
People they assumed they knew,
With conversations had with others...
Family, friends and a collection of a chosen few,
Were people that they knew.

But when asked, none had close talks...
With the one claimed known.
And the one claimed known...
Had not a clue as to what was going on.
Other than the usual assumptions that take place,
Within cliques of gossips.

There are those who have created,
Lifestyles of others in their minds.
With sexual preferences believed known discussed.
With the goings on in the privacy of their homes,
And with whom they lust.

There are those programmed and self convinced...
People they assumed they knew,
With conversations had with others...
Family, friends and a collection of a chosen few,
Were people that they knew.

Until they got the opportunity to meet them.
And then became quite upset...
That those they met,
Were quite different...
Than the people they had kept in their minds.

Only to find themselves,
Living too confined and behind fast times.
To leave a narrow perception of life,
Left to go unaddressed.

Raindance

If paradise is such a fragile affair
Then why have we the lions share?
As if we walk the earth alone
Like infants breaking the cradle
There isnt anything we fail to corrupt
The flip-side of the midas touch
Were walking in a world of glass
With iron footsteps
We do the raindance every night
And I hope the gods will treat us right
And if the sky should tumble down
Will it quench out thirst or crush us to the ground?
Have you a ticket to the greatest event?
The world inside a circus tent
Where clowns debate disarmament
And wildlife live within cages
The parody is never far from the truth
And mankind is the living proof
A dying planet in our arms
We walk the tightrope
The answers very simple
A world without its people
Has got to be better than this
