That's What Woke Me Up
In disbelief?
I was too,
Before I accepted.
There was a time,
I placed truth on trial.
Everything vivid,
Became for me a denial.
My thoughts and observations,
Were clearer than my own footsteps.
But when I began to follow my mind,
To leave doubt and fear behind...
I knew I was fine!
Not that I declared anything wrong.
I was not right with it.
And that took a long time to see.
I didn't understand that immediately.
Until I saw 'me'.
And the pieces on the outside,
Completed a total fit.
I began to see things as they were.
And not what I thought they should be.
I had been against the naturalness of it.
With interpretations I 'heard' should be mine.
I saw that to be imperfect.
And I became disturbed by it.
And doing my best to sit and fix the imperfect in me.
And God does not make mistakes on purpose.
To fake them as something done unconscious.
People do!
To unloosen but not tighten screws.
And that's what 'woke' me up!
I began to tighten up my activities quick,
To overdose on reality.
Now I've got my dosages under control.
In disbelief?
I was too,
Before I accepted.
There was a time,
I placed truth on trial.
Everything vivid,
Became for me a denial.
Until I saw 'me'.
And the pieces on the outside,
Completed a total fit.
I began to see things as they were.
And not what I thought they should be.
Because they could never be how I saw them.
I saw them to be imperfect.
Not comprehending a thing as I followed.
To become involved in an assortment of heartbreaks.
And God does not make mistakes,
To fake them as something done unconscious.
People do!
And I no longer follow those who have eyes,
They allow to remain clouded.

Fake People
All the time
I look in your eyes
But what I see
And what you say to me
Are two totally different things
You pretend you put on a façade
I only wish you knew that I'm not
The only one who sees it as odd
Fake people
The things they do are oh so evil
Because of their own insecurities
They try to pass on to you their idiosyncrasies
Thinking they are your friends you let them into your lives
But then they turn around and about you tell nothing but lies
Jealousy is such an ugly thing
Almost as ugly as hypocrisy
Fake people
The things they do are oh so evil
Fake people
Fake people
So now I must ask who are your friends
Are they really what they seem to be
Or are they just trying to hide from you their envy
Do your friends really have your back
Or is it that that's where by them you've been stabbed
I once had a friend
One I thought would be there for me till the end
Then one day my happiness ended and theirs began
And when I needed someone to lean on
Behind me did no one stand
Fake people
The things they do are oh so evil
Because of their own insecurities
They try to pass on to you their idiosyncrasies
Thinking they are your friends you let them into your lives
But then they turn around and about you tell nothing but lies
Jealousy is such an ugly thing
Almost as ugly as hypocrisy
Fake people
The things they do are oh so evil
Fake people
Fake people
Be careful who you let know your business
'Cause in the end
Rumors about you they could be spreadin'
Don't put your trust in people who don't trust you
There's no telling what they're liable to say or do
Grow smarter with each experience
And you'll see true friends
Are the friends who are their with and for you till the end
Fake people
The things they do are oh so evil
Because of their own insecurities
They try to pass on to you their idiosyncrasies
Thinking they are your friends you let them into your lives
But then they turn around and about you tell nothing but lies
Jealousy is such an ugly thing
Almost as ugly as hypocrisy
Fake people
The things they do are oh so evil
Fake people

Discrediting Actuality
Which is worse...
Living in denial?
Or being on trial
For commiting acts of truth?
Revealing observations as they are,
Scars a mind attached to illusions.
A fear connected to reality,
Only exposes a common use of lies!
Discrediting actuality
Will not change facts from what is seen!
Unless a total existence of life itself,
Becomes declared obscene.
And much of that can not be questioned.
Or initiate a fight to disagree.
We're all 'nuts' apparently!

As I Began to Love Myself – Self Love Poem
As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering
are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY”.
As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody
As I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time
was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this
person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT”.
As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life,
and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “MATURITY”.
As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance,
I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens
at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm.
Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”.
As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time,
and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do
and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in
my own rhythm. Today I call it “SIMPLICITY”.
As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for
my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew
me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude
a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.
As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since
I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is “MODESTY”.
As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry
about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING
is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT”.
As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my
mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this
connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART”.
We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems
with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing
new worlds are born. Today I know THAT IS “LIFE”!

Sinking From the Weight
Sinking from the weight of,
Denial.
We put on trial,
People we choose to deceive.
And...
Sinking from the weight of,
Denial.
We put on trial,
People we choose to deceive.
Is it an offense or a needless crime,
To defy fighting against...
Your own kind?
With selected ones chosen,
To occupy our minds.
For purposes to protect.
Their interests kept.
Even though we who are selected...
To do these deeds,
By those in sheltered discreet...
We remain despised,
By those who disrespect.
And fed from birth,
To know when to cheat...
Spy, lie and use alibis.
Is it an offense,
To not follow rules...
That make no sense.
As we must listen to 'authorities'
Who attempt to convince.
If a certain status given,
Is that of a minority....
Concerns of the majority,
Is a worthless expense.
And given less attention.
Is any seriousness mention.
Since no rights have been given,
A worthiness to drive 'unimportant' lives.
You may ride as a passenger...
But not permitted,
To make decisions from front seats.
And to speak,
Only when spoken to!
With a preferred silence.
To make what is done...
Even sweeter to complete.
Sinking from the weight of,
Denial.
We put on trial,
People we choose to deceive.
And...
Sinking from the weight of,
Denial.
We put on trial,
People we choose to deceive.
Is it an offense or a needless crime.
To defy fighting against,
Your own kind?
Or abandon ship,
Sinking from the weight...
Of evidence there is ignorance.
Sinking from the weight of,
Denial.
We put on trial,
People we choose to deceive.
And...
Sinking from the weight of,
Denial.
We put on trial,
People we choose to deceive.

Uncomprehending the Healing Aspects of Listening
Starting all over again to make things better,
Will do...
What?
Make things better?
And for who?
The very same people who allowed destruction?
Those responsible for the creation of conflict?
People refuse to identify themselves,
As the culprits!
Or deny they hand picked their own enemies.
To refer to them as terrorists.
Who began the outsourcing of jobs?
To send them away,
At the expense of cheaper labor.
Whose products were deemed inferior made?
So other products would be savored.
Who began the marketing of decadence?
To find money easier to be had and spent!
Who stood by to watch unruly children?
As disrespect was ushered in...
With a greeding of deceit,
Making a mockery of discipline!
And the rise of racism is on their own land.
The affects of this,
They themselves began.
What is it they wish to do?
Make things better?
And for who?
Aren't these the same people who made it clear...
Their way of life was much endeared.
Aren't these the same people,
Who had values and standards...
Better than those they now say they fear?
What is it they wish to do?
Make things better?
And for who?
A self examination has of yet for them to begin.
This should be prioritized as a revelation for them.
But they remain in denial.
Uncomprehending the healing aspects of listening.
A mindset rehabilitated,
Is what people need.
A mindset rehabilitated,
Is what people need.
A mindset rehabilitated,
Is what people need.

Imperfectly
Can I help it if Im not neat
If there were creeps before you
How can I help you if I am weak?
If I dont know how to help me
But I love you, I love you
Imperfect, imperfect, imperfectly
I love you imperfect, imperfect, imperfectly
Can I help it if Im high strung
If I was born with a sharp tongue
Will you marry me if I stay sweet?
If I am the one with the cold feet
I love you, I love you
Imperfect, imperfect, imperfectly
I love you imperfect, imperfect imperfectly
I love you imperfect, imperfect, imperfectly
Imperfectly, imperfectly, imperfectly, imperfectly
Imperfectly, imperfectly, imperfectly

In The Dark
Make me fumble
Make me fall
Make my heart stop and start
To tremble uncontrollably
Let my eyes see fear make desire
Keep those who long apart
Forbid the kiss
And leave us innocent
Of the things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
Make me remember
Make me forget
Make my mind unable
To force the body to do its will
Let it be right for belief and denial
To share a space in the heart and leave us only to imagine
About the things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
Make me pretend
Make me expect
Things can go and come to pass
Without trial or tribulation
Let this life space and time
Leave my body with permanent marks
Faded scars and lines
But not a single impression
Of the things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
Let me be tempted
Let me be torn
But make my thoughts pure and not
Morally corrupt in form
Let us sleep tonight
Let innocence lie in our dreams and secret hearts
With burning desire
A need to know and do
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark

I would again want a relationship with you
I would again want a relationship with you
try to wind time back
and with experience try to turn things around,
making something else, something much bigger out of everything
try to watch out for mistakes of the past,
try and dissuade you from painful choices
and wish that you could turn like a storybook through our lives,
Maybe things would have been better, but we are human and imperfect
and maybe time and again we would have made other mistakes
saying the wrong things to each other
and still know that we truly love each other,
however life goes through our humanity
while there are still tomorrows lying ahead
and I wonder when we can start again?

Decided to Find the Core
When I awakened my last time from deep denial,
I decided to clear my eyes of wants.
And focused on just my needs.
I began to eliminate excess.
I rid my life of annoying pests and agitation.
I decided to find the core of my happiness.
Obstacles became more determined,
Not to see me succeed.
My path became blocked with foolishness.
Until...
I began to see things for what they were.
Even though they tormented me to see them differently.
When I awakened my last time from deep denial,
I decided to clear my eyes of wants.
And focused on just my needs.
Today...
Everything I'm wanting has become a daily desire.
And I thank the Almighty with excitement every morning.

Truth Of My Youth
There was a time and place
Where I never thought
I'd leave my own home town
But those days are finally
Dead and gone
It was never my intention
To stay there oh no
There was a conscious effort
Played by me
To disown anything I see
There was a girl I knew
Way back when
Who says she doesnt know me anymore
These are the lies
The things you never mention
These are my past mistakes
I'll stay away from
These are my thoughts
Written down on paper
Its my only savior
For not saying
What I want to say
These are the thoughts
That are on my mind
Moments that havnt yet been defined
And I dont know if you
Could ever understand
These are the things I cant say
When we're alone
There were countless hours
On the telephone
My ears were ringing
From the dial tone
There was flashing lights
People staring
There was nothing I could ever do
These are the lies
The things that you never metion
These are my past mistakes
I'll stay away from
This is the truth
The only time you'll hear it
I'll write it down
Because it seems so hard to say it
These are my thoughts
Written down on paper
Its my only savior
From not saying
What I want to say
These are the thoughts
That are on my mind
Moments that havnt yet been defined
And I dont know
If you could ever understand
These are the things I cant say
When we're alone

Consciousness Over Denial
Denial is learned when you are young
for it is a way to protect you from everyone.
Everyone that hurts you by their abuse
it is a way to make things better
for there's nothing you can do.
Now when you are older it doesn't work that way
for denial will lead you 'not into reality' but totally astray.
Some people are toxic, game players
who don't know that they are-
Better for you to see the signs
and end it before it goes too far.
You have no control over people, places or things
they are the ones who need help and have to change.
Of course You have to become healthy and whole—
Love yourself more so that you will know.
Know when you are doing something unconscious
in which you then start to rationalize-
Now you can stop yourself-
and do something conscious in which
you finally really do decide.
Decide you are the one in control of your life.

Too Patient
When I began to weed through,
My priority list...
I saw some things on it,
That no longer exist.
I had placed people,
Who I considered friends on this list.
And for years they had been on it...
Doing and saying things to me as they wished.
Some don't speak to me.
But my name is on their lips.
When I began to weed through,
My priority list...
I saw some things on it,
That should not on my list exist!
Very few on my priority list,
Have me on their agenda.
And if they do,
I'm sure it's for fun, sport and gossip.
When I began to weed through,
My priority list...
I saw some things on it,
I couldn't not explain...
Why some names had hearts near them.
Did I do that?
Did I draw them in?
I use to dropp every and anything,
To be at someone's aide.
Some people I would call everyday...
Just to see if they were okay.
I've even allowed my own work to be submitted...
So folks could get their college degrees.
Joking about this,
I am not!
I have been the subject of innuendos and lies,
As if my life meant nothing at all.
To leave me to walk around with 'my' pain disguised.
Then I awakened and realized.
I am considered a fool!
Today...
When I began to weed through,
My priority list...
I saw some things on it,
That no longer exist.
And wondered to myself 'WHY'...
Is this stuff still 'there'.
Get rid of it!
This makes no sense.
Why do you have these people's lives,
Prioritized?
'That is being too patient!
Fix this and get this done quick! '
I have moments when I am completely rational.

Living in the latter days.
The end came unexpectedly.
Time stopped, then went into reverse
Which took effect immediately.
As if the lifting of a curse.
At first it was not obvious
What the effects would come to be.
But scientists were curious.
Recoding changes they could see.
Grey hair and wrinkles disappeared
People grew younger day by day.
There seemed to be nothing to fear
From time running the other way.
The universe began to shrink.
Instead of growing constantly.
Which gave us time to stop and think.
What the end result would be.
Rewinding millions of years.
Was bound to be a slow process.
But it seems nobody dares
To make an educated guess.
How long before the universe
Becomes a singularity
Now time has gone into reverse.
No one can say with certainty.
How long before we reach zero.
The point at which it all began.
Perhaps its best we do not know
the final outcome of the plan.
The universe will cease to be
At least the universe we knew
Pausing momentarily
Before the cycle starts again.
A mere potentiality
Existing independently
Which may or may not come to be
A new form of reality.

When It Began
It had begun,
When it began...
To make me pay attention.
To make me sit and listen.
Quietly...
And allow me to go within.
Without apprehension.
Until those 'thoughts' started to clear.
It had begun,
When it began...
To make me pay attention.
To make me sit and listen.
It had begun,
When it began...
And I was here.
It had begun,
When it began...
To click together and remove fear,
I had endeared.

Never To Win
Casualities of day dreamers...
Are buried in my reverie-
Sequined-vivid and blood stained-
Are our: 'Never To Be's; '
Broken and in total disarray...
Long before we even began-
Fragile shards of splintered dreams...
In my memory bank they just hang;
Suspended in times empty spaces...
For all of my inner-in sleep to see...
Casualties of my hopeful dreamscapes-
Of our: 'Never To Be's';
Never standing a chance in reality...
Shattered long before we could begin...
Sequined vivid blood stained shards-
Lay in a hopeless game of: 'Never To Win';

Froggy Toes
I woke up in the middle of the night
at something that gave me a terrible fright
there at the bottom of my bed
were 10 strange things painted in red
and as my eyes adjusted so
they began to dance and put on a show
first they moved up and down
then began to spin round and round
frightened I pulled up my sheet
only to see that they were attached to my feet
As I began to slowly wake from my slumber
the 10 toes began to do their last number
and as I watched all in agog
I laughed when I saw they were joined by my frog.

Indian Giver
An Indian Giver is known as one who would give you something then take it back
The term came to be many years ago through some misunderstandings to be exact
Under normal circumstances I would not call myself an Indian Giver ‘cause I’m really not that way
But I have to say that I’m an Indian Giver now because I’m taking back something I gave away
I gave away something I shouldn’t have to someone many years ago that belonged only to me
That thing that I gave away so long ago to someone it didn’t belong to, was my own personal identity
I gave it away when I accepted their view of me, my life, what I do, where I go and who I spend my time with
But my identity was given to me by God who created me and gave me identity as a gift
It began when an event took place in my life that they didn’t approve of and said things that broke my heart
As the years have come and gone away, things they say to and about me seem to tear me apart
You see, I started seeking their approval for everything I did always concerned about what they thought
Then when they did not approve of something I did, I began to beat up on myself a whole lot
It was like if they didn’t approve then what I was doing was somehow wrong or bad in some kind of way
God would even tell me the outcome if I shared it with them, but I would share things with them anyway
As time went by things got worse ‘cause I got angry if I felt they were passing judgment on me
Instead of calmly telling them that I didn’t receive their judgment I became more bound rather than free
It’s a shame that things have to get so bad before we make a decision to do something about them
Then we run to God in prayer wanting Him to do something ‘cause we know we can’t do anything without Him
If we had gone to God in prayer at first instead of going through years of self destruction
We could have avoided a lot of grief, pain, anger and sleep, not to mention our destiny’s interruption
When you allow rejection, judgment and condemnation to come in, you give away your identity
When it is God who created you to be who and the way you are, and if anyone is to judge it is He
No one else has a Heaven or Hell to place you in, nor does anyone have a right to control you
But, when their thoughts, opinions, judgments and negativity get you out of character, that’s exactly what they do
The sooner you realize what has taken place in your life to cause you so much hurt
The process of healing can begin to make you whole and put satan under your feet in the dirt
You see, rejection, low self-esteem, fear of man and deep hurt are all spirits invoked by the enemy
They’re strategically designed to steal your joy, kill your dreams and destroy your vision so you can’t see
The devil will pull out all stops to get you, including using people at church, work, family and close friends
When he sees what buttons affect you and distort your true character, he’ll use them again and again
We’ve been sent as sheep in the midst of wolves so we must be wise as serpents and as harmless as doves
This is not always an easy thing to do, so we must constantly be in communication with our Heavenly Father above
With His help we will overcome the wiles of the devil, we will be whole and our blessings will flow like a river
As we take back what rightfully belongs to us, our God-given identity, when we become an Indian Giver

Forgive Each Others Mistakes
I elevated you so high, and allowed myself to free fall.
I wouldn’t believe what I chose to become, as I hit life’s brick wall.
Do you remember looking into my eyes as we promised each other it all?
Feel nothing, as you watch me fall, and you stood there looking so tall.
But through my heartache I forgot that we can all make mistakes.
And even though you were the perfect girl in my eyes.
And even though I love what love creates.
In the end we are only human, and even humans can keep making the same mistakes.
So I’m pulling my last rip chord, and I’m saving myself from certain death.
I will hit the ground running, and moving forward with my every breath.
Now through the scattered pieces of my heart, I remembered that we can all make mistakes.
And even though I’m not fully fixed, this broken heart forgives an imperfect girl.
And even though I love what love creates.
In the end you were only human, and even humans can forgive each others mistakes.

The Beginnings
It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.
Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.
It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

Prioritized Not Disguised
From the beginning of his leadership,
They began a campaign to see him defeated.
From the moment his brilliance began to shine,
They began an advocating of hatred in the minds.
Hoping a decline would blind those...
Supporting and standing behind him.
From the time they believed themselves,
Better mentally equipped...
They began to show themselves dimwits!
And they began to use economic deficits,
To highlight an ignorance that left them with...
A nakedness that exposes their self-righteousness.
Observed now by all who clearly see,
Money can not buy deception for too long.
Or have people collectively believe...
With a masquerading of it as intelligence!
Especially when people have chosen,
To have their interests represented.
And their needs prioritized not disguised by lies.
Although...
There are those who could care less,
If they shred any credibility they may have left...
Just to prove their ineptness and the depth of it.
