Staying Within The Box
Whatever is lived within one's box,
To define what keeps one's mind...
Tightly locked.
Is okay!
Until the children demand,
To go outside to play.
Finding that staying within the box,
Causes them to rebel...
Against all who live within it!

She's A Rebel
She's a rebel
She's a saint
She's salt of the earth
And she's dangerous
She's a rebel
Vigilante
Missing link on the brink
Of destruction
From Chicago to Toronto
She's the one that they
Call old whatsername
She's the symbol
of resistance
and she's holding on my
heart like a hand grenade
Is she dreaming
what I'm thinking
Is she the mother of all bombs
gonna detonate
Is she trouble
like I'm trouble
make it a double
twist of fate
or a melody that
She sings the revolution
the dawning of our lives
she brings this liberation
that I just can't define
nothing comes to mind
[x2]
She's a rebel
She's a saint
She's salt of the earth
And she's dangerous

Sticking With It
Sticking with it.
And trying not to be out of it.
Everyday there is a reason I find...
Not to toss in the towel to give up and quit.
And although it is tough staying motivated,
I awaken feeling appreciative.
I can not say I relate to being elated...
But there is so much of life that can be abundantly lived.
Sticking with it.
And trying not to be out of it.
Everyday there is a reason I find...
Not to toss in the towel to give up and quit.
No.
I know what I should and should not resist.
Even forcefully establishing my own initiative,
I seek to give to myself as a gift.
Sticking with it can be sticky sometimes.
But the finding of motivation within one's mind,
To look at each step made as a forward climb...
Will not need anyone to define these times.
Not if one is kept busy living.

The Dwellers
It was known as the street of despair, where the homeless
And destitute lived- but no one cared!
They all turned their backs
It wasn’t hard to do, because it
Wasn’t anyone that they knew.
They lived in abandoned buildings
with no heat or water, but respect for each other
And their own type of order.
They still walked with a sense of pride
And on each other they did rely…
They created their own commune
And each child had their own room.
The men would go out and look
For jobs that would pay by the day.
They built a playground where the
Children could play.
Lawn maintenance and painting jobs
Could always be found, and at days end
They’d lay their money down.
Although they did not live
The same as you and me
But They lived comfortably.
They would buy five gallons of water
So that they could sponge bathe
For their lives had completely changed.
They bought portable stoves
So that the women could cook.
A little ingenuity was all it took.
They would buy clean clothes for
The children to wear, for that was
The only thing for which they cared.
A proper education was their goal
They would not allow it to be taken away
Exchanged, or stole.
They lived and worked together with one
Thing in mind, that these children would
Live better in a different place and time.
These are the true DWELLERS
That you don’t often hear about
For there is no one there to tell
Their stories and scream and shout.

De-grow when fully grown
You have thus lived being in demand without
And now must learn to live in demand Within,
On realization that you have turned straw,
Failing which to humiliation you’ll be driven.

Locked
Children tattooed, pierced and studded, dreadlocked;
parents panicked, indecisive, deadlocked.
Mother to daughter: live as you must, if you must;
for just a bit longer, keep the door to your bed locked.
Son to father: teach me what you know,
but I won't agree to keep the door to my head locked.
Mother to father: where have you been, and where
have you kept your thoughts and all you might have said locked?
They'd come so far, and then she saw, in him,
the door to their life, their home, their daily bread locked.
One night in a fiery panic dream he ran
and found the door toward which he'd wildly fled locked.
Aging, but at long last ripe and ready,
she found the on-ramp to the road ahead locked.
They learned too late the cost of keeping that cellar
full of truths that could not be gainsaid locked.
The young return. Too many find the way back
to lives in the country for which they fought and bled locked.
Eric, old friend, as you try each door in the mind,
will you wake one day to find the heart instead locked?

Rebel Rebel
Got your mother in a whirl
Got your mother in a whirl cause
Shes not sure if youre a boy or a girl
Hey, babe, your hairs alright
Hey, babe, lets go out tonight
You like me, and I like it all
We like dancing, and we look divine
You love bands when they play it hard
You want more, and you want it first
Put you down, say Im wrong
You tacky thing, you put them on
Rebel rebel, youve torn your dress
Rebel rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so!
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
(1st verse) (chorus)
-
Dont ya?
Ow
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
Rebel rebel, youve torn your dress
Rebel rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel rebel, how could they know?
I love you so much!
Youve torn your dress, your face is a mess
You cant get enough, but enough aint the test
Youve got transmission and a live wire
Got your cue lines and a handful of ludes
You wanna be there when they count up the dues
And I love your dress
Youre a juvenile success
Because your face is a mess
So how could they know?
I said, how could they know?
To what you wanna know
Calamitys child, chi-chile, chi-chile
Whered you wanna go?
Can I do for you? looks like youve been there too
cause youve torn your dress
And your face is a mess
Ooo, ooo, your face is a mess
Ooo, ooo, so how could they know?
How could they know? ha

Im A Rebel
They say I wont make it to the top of the hill
Wont take the fruit of a tree
And evrybody says Im out for the kill
Theyre all laughing at me
Theyre all laughing at me
Im a rebel - rebel - dont you just know it
Im a rebel - rebel
And theyre all laughing at me
They say Im a danger to the public and all
I only wish they would see
Im just a product of a screwed up world - but theyre all
Theyre all laughing at me
But theyre all laughing at me
Im a rebel - rebel - dont you just know it
Im a rebel - rebel - dont you just know it
Im a rebel - rebel
But theyre all laughing at me
Never ever wash my old blue jeans
And brush the smile off my face
But still Im a member of the
Human race - human race - human race - human race
Im a rebel - rebel - dont you just know it
Im a rebel - rebel - dont you just know it
Im a rebel - rebel - dont you just know it
Im a rebel - rebel
And theyre all laughing at me
Im a rebel

I Walked Last Night In A District I Lived In For Almost Twenty Years
I WALKED LAST NIGHT IN A DISTRICT I LIVED IN FOR ALMOST TWENTY YEARS
I walked last night in a district I lived in for almost twenty years
I came back after being away for a time
To visit an old and ailing friend
The streets were empty and lonely as they often were then-
I thought for the first time I understood how lonely the district itself is-
‘A lonely district’
I wondered how I managed to live there all those years
And how anyone still manages to live there-
I looked up at the sky and wrote in my mind a small poem of a kind I wrote many of in my years there
I remembered teachers and friends who had lived there
No longer of this district or any district on earth
I wondered how life goes and how from so many years so much life has been lived without having any place in my memory
I felt as empty inside as the district without
I did not have to wait long for the bus
And relieved inside it I put my heart to home
So many years had been lived there
I remembered taking my small children to the playground there
Now they thank G-d have children of their own
Oh the years go by and the life we have lived in them largely dies
Forever to be unknown again-
I put my heart and mind in a different direction
And began to do what I always do – not think of the district again
Life is this mystery and question we live through and never wholly possess even as we are experiencing it
How long before all will be gone for me
Including the district I live in now?

Hes A Rebel
Hes a rebel and you may not like his
Looks or his style
Be hes faster than light and he
Can walk a miracle mile
Hell point you out and hell pull you in
I guarantee hell be your best friend
Hes a rebel and hes gonna be good
Anyhow
And the boys in the group they just
Want to drag him way down
Hes so straight ahead, hell blow
Your mind
He can be strong and yet so kind
What you see is what you get
And what you get you wont regret
cause hes on the line
What you want is what hes got and
What hes got, hes got a lot
cause its allright
Its allright
Ooh hes a rebel, written up in the
Lambs book of life
And therell be no escape because
The stage has been set for a while
If he comes your way, hell make you
Surrender
His storys clear and his voice
So tender
What you see is what you get
And what you get you wont regret
cause hes on the line
What you want is what hes got and
What hes got, hes got a lot
cause its allright
Its allright
If he comes your way hell make you
Surrender
His words are clear and his
Loves forever
Hes a rebel and he doesnt conform
Thats for sure
Society rules and its fallin right
Down to the core
Hell love you like youve never been
Loved before
He always leaves you wanting
Him more
Hes a rebel
See that rebel
Yeah, thats a rebel
Thats a rebel
Hes a rebel
See that rebel
Theres the rebel
Theres the rebel

Ireland Shall Rebel
WHILE tyrants rule the land,
Beneath the Irish skies;
While e’er the iron hand
Upon our people lies;
While sons are driven forth
In other lands to dwell,
Still in the South and North
Old Ireland will rebel!
Rebel, rebel!
Old Ireland will rebel!
While fanlike from below,
And pale against the skies,
That light of shame—the glow
Of burning homes—shall rise;
While hot indignant tears
From Irish hearts shall swell:—
Be it a thousand years,
Old Ireland will rebel!
Rebel, rebel!
Old Ireland will rebel!
Until the tyrant’s rod
Shall broken be in twain,
And on the dear old sod
Blest freedom treads again;
Or till our masters learn
To rule our country well,
The fires of hate shall burn!—
Old Ireland will rebel!
Rebel, rebel!
Old Ireland will rebel!

Anger.
Anger is really frustration which comes to the surface,
When we misjudge, cry, take drugs, can't find a rest place.
We are hung up on old or new misery,
Finding not a way out in the moment of some treachery.
Children are sad, they cannot have their way,
Parents think they are gods to demand their play.
Bosses can be dictators to say the last word,
With the poor worker who has to shut up, never be a free bird.
They say, we should change one habit with another,
Why can't we became still, refuse anger and turn it into laughter.
Don't go insane over the things others try to do,
Know that God is there, learn the lesson, don't be part of that zoo.
Then the sun will come up in your mind and in your whole being,
Your life will turn into beauty, harmony and singing.
Praising the Lord, returning kindness to all,
They will never have negative power over you, you can walk tall.

Soul Rebel
[Bob Marley]
I'm a rebel, soul rebel
I'm a capturer, soul adventurer
I'm a rebel, soul rebel
I'm a capturer, soul adventurer
See the morning sun (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah) on the hillside (ooh)
Not living good, yeah! - travel wide,
Said, I'm a living man (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah); I've got work to do (ooh)
If you're not happy, children, then you must be blue
(must be blue, must be blue) people say:
People say:
I'm a rebel, let them talk;
Soul rebel: talk won't bother me.
I'm a capturer, that's what they say;
(Soul adventurer) Night and day
(I'm a rebel) I'm a rebel: soul rebel!
Do you hear them, Lippy?
(I'm a capturer) Gossip around the corner;
(Soul adventurer) How they adventure on me, y'all.
But see the morning sun (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah) on the hill side (ooh);
Not living good, travel wide,
Said, I'm a living man (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah);
I've got work to do
(ooh-ooh; must be blue, must be blue, must be blue).
If you're not happy,
You must be blue.
I'm a rebel (ooh-ooh):
Soul rebel;
I'm a capturer (ooh-ooh):
soul adventurer. Do you hear me?
I'm a rebel, rebel in the morning;
(soul rebel) rebel at midday time.

Child Predators
whats going on in this world today.
another child taken
peoples lives are shaken.
blood of children spilled
this is not GODS will.
we are living in a society where children
can't be free, to run and play.
as they did before.
to return to their home nevermore.
we are adults, and it's our responsibility
to make sure that our children can see
that they're living in a democracy.
we must take away their fears that
are locked up inside.
when they see a stranger they
must run and hide.
look in their eyes and see their trust
is that asking for too much?
caylee, haleigh are just two.
change the laws is what we
have to do.
predators should not be on the streets
where children play and love to meet.
they should be in jails or asylums
and treated for the sickness within.
children should not have to pay
for their evil thoughts and sins.

Define insanity, define me
'A spectrum of behaviours characterised by
certain abnormal mental or behavioural patterns
that may manifest as violation of societal norms
including becoming a danger to themselves and others or
nowadays denoting mental instability'
Hey! wiki define abnormal, because I don't understand
Tell me who decides societal norms, cause I didn't contribute to them
Let me be dangerous, let me be myself
The stability of whom should I look at?
Define love, define pain, define sufferance
define mercy, define justice, define tolerance
define passion, define sex, define complexity
define insanity, please define me
Take me out of this dream, I can't catch the reality
lead me through this wet fog, guide me home
all my senses are enhanced when
I'm abandoned to your memory
Borderline attitude of being nervous, occasionally anguished
a stormy spirit supposedly calm, a balance quite disturbed
people are arrogant with strange guys
people are scared about non-linear minds
are you among them?
Define love, define pain, define sufferance
define mercy, define justice, define tolerance
define passion, define sex, define complexity
define insanity, please define me

Three of my friends
Yes, it’s a photo of the three of them –
it’s not so often I can get them all together;
they’re so much in demand…
This one’s Rosa. She has something
quite unique: she’s no great beauty, yet
she has that something which
we’ve given up trying to define:
let’s say, it’s, inner beauty…
her girl friends are devoted to her;
men can’t keep away from her:
when you’re with her, you feel yourself
to… shine? As if you too, are beautiful?
(Her ‘girls’ admit it; men,
they do not like to put a name to it…though
sometimes contemplate themselves her husband;
glow with imagined, noble pride;
then sigh, at their unworthiness;
can’t wait to see her once again…)
Here’s Cora.. I don’t see her much,
she’s in demand for every possible
committee or whatever… for
her innate goodness seems to grace,
to bless, bring harmony, to every
well-intentioned, sometimes rancorous,
committee that she sits on…often, chairs;
we sigh and say, what is it about her..?
She just brings out the best
in everybody… when you’re with her,
you love yourself; you never doubt
that you, too, always have the good of all
at heart..
This one’s Max. He’d be at his happiest
in the research lab, discoveries
uncovering themselves under his steady gaze
as if eager to be found…
yet such is his ability to pass on
that love of finding out,
he’s constantly in demand to lecture and to teach;
his students, past and present, stand in awe,
yet love him for himself: when you talk to him,
he listens to your every word,
his eyes, shining all the while; as if
beyond the words you stumble out,
he hears – always and only – truth itself…
and for a while, you feel you share
his clarity of mind...
Yes, I treasure that photo in its silver frame;
it’s so rarely that I get them all together;
but they themselves just love it when I do:
maybe you see it in the photo there?
For as I stood behind the camera, I saw,
there's such respect there, for each other;
as if they know they share
a something so incredible,
that it’s a joy too absolute to name;
I breathed the word: humanity.

Only Those With The Key
The gate has been locked,
To block access...
To those once accustomed,
To free entry and free reign.
And this has been suggested...
Maybe one's own finding,
Of a home on the range...
Suitable for the deer and the antelope,
To play.
And any mumbling heard is one's own
The gate has been locked,
To block out the physical.
And that which appears limited.
But one 'spirited' in mind,
Can choose to look over the gate.
Or through its cracks.
Or...
Sit to wonder why THIS gate attracts.
And gates with locks that block,
To stop what's coming in...
Seem to imprison those behind them,
Rarely to come out to test the locks.
And only those with the key,
Know what it is used for.
AND...
Its history to be known or not!
Since whoever has got the key,
Needs not to peek or have interest in the doing.
Only those with the key to the gate that locks,
To block in or not to block out...
Do not concern themselves with peeking.

Rock 'N Roll Rebel
They couldn't see what I thought
Would be so obvious
They hid behind the laws they made for all of us
The ministry of truth that deals with pretense
The ministry of peace that sits on defense
I'm washing my hands of what
They're trying to do
It's for me, it's for me,
It's for you, it's for you
Chorus:
I'm just a rock 'n roll rebel
I'll tell you no lies
They say I worship the devil
They must be stupid or blind
I'm just a rock 'n roll rebel
They live a life of fear and insecurity
And all you do is pray for their prosperity
The ministry of fear that won't let you live
The ministry of grace that doesn't forgive
Do what you will to try and
Make me conform
I'll make you wish that
You had never been born
Chorus:
Cause I'm a rock 'n roll rebel
I'll do what I please
Yes I'm a rock 'n roll rebel
And I'm as free as the breeze
I'm just a rock 'n roll rebel
They'll try playin' with your heart
They know it rules your head
If they could read between the lines
You know they'd see the real day
God only knows why they
Couldn't see the obvious
Is it because they manifest the incubus
The ministry of war that got caught in the draft
The ministry of joy that still hasn't laughed
When it's all boiled down
And the day's at an end
I'll give you no bullshit
And I'll never pretend
Chorus:
Cause I'm a rock 'n roll rebel
I'll tell you no lies
They say I worship the devil
Why don't they open their eyes
I'm just a rock 'n roll rebel
A rock 'n roll rebel
I'm just a rock 'n roll rebel

State Of The Union (In Closing)
we, the working people
of America, demand our dignity!
we demand equality, and fairness!
we are all immigrants here!
yet no human being is illegal.
we demand the right to work,
and to educate our children.
we demand shelter, and healthcare!
we are a hard working, hard fighting
people... we demand a
hard working, hard fighting President!
we know that you are limited
by the hand of the controlling elite,
at the mercy of the corporate machine.
dont be just a figurehead.
your choice!
freedom is a work in progress.
the real revolution is in
the human heart, in the mind.
we are ready for change,
and willing to act.
be ready, and willing!
there are no small people,
we are all people.
we will not be owned!
we cannot go back to the
bigoted, ignorant ways of the past.
you are our best option,
be the man!
most of all, we demand the action
that follows words well spoken.
be the action!

See The Children
(la la la la la la la...)
I stopped the car
The other day
I had to ask a little
Girl the way
I thought she'd show me
Better if she got inside
And once inside
I thought i'd taker her
For a little ride...
So i see the children
Feel the children
See the children
Feel the children
All the time...
See the children
Feel the children
See the children
Feel the children
All the time...
I'm a supermarket santa
Underneath the christmas tree
The little one all like to
Come and sit upon my knee
I have to hold them tightly
'cause they fall to the floor
A little concern ain't
Against the law...
So i see the children
Feel the children
See the children
Feel the children
All the time
See the children
(something something something??) all the time
I pass by the infant school
Every single day
I push sweeties through the fence
But the kids just run way
I only want to talk with them
And join in their fun
But all the little children do
Is run run run run run run run run...
(la la la la la la, la la la la la la..etc..)
See the children
Feel the children all the time..
See the children
Feel the children
See the children
Feel the children
All the time........

Lockdown
Live face, live wars
Live final fallen shore.
Wise up down play.
Locked spine.
The spirits rule, lies down
Rip the cord, spent with the dead.
Lockdown.
Lockdown.
Life's pace. Crowds boss.
View the scum you'll cross.
We're burned in, we're burned out.
We're burned on the fire.
Relax, lie down.
Beg to a different crown.
Wise up, down play.
Locked spine.
The spirits rule, lies down
Rip the cord, spent with the dead.
Live face, live wars
Live final fallen shore.
Relax, lie down.
Beg to a different crown.
Lockdown west side
Sent to a distant land.
Wise up, down play.
Locked spine.
The spirits rule, lies down
Rip the cord, spent with the dead.
