So I Hop

I look for a pair of socks.
But I can only find one sock.
I can not put both feet in one sock!
So I hop!

Put a Sock In It

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Many getting sick of the pickiness started.
And when it gets sticky they can not stop.
Instigating agitation with annoyance.
Dropping all they've got to tie a mind in knots.

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Can't you see them strike poses and begin to 'cheese'.
Then plop on their knees,
To make their pleas.
These same folks cry about bad luck.
With claims their butts are stuck in ruts.

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Folks have had enough,
And fed up!

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Folks have had enough,
And fed up!

Folks have had enough.
Folks have had enough.
Folks have had enough.
And fed up!

Laundry Spirits

Laundry spirits all around
Stealing things without a sound
When I hang my washing out
Something missing there’s no doubt

An odd sock here an odd sock there
Drives me almost to despair
I wonder if in days gone by
Did my great gran have this, if not why?

Is my washing machine possessed?
Eating socks I do not jest
Doesn’t matter where I look
There’s certainly a mysterious spook

So laundry spirit in the sky
Please give me a reason why
A pair of socks I can understand
But just for one what is your plan?

I’m buying socks that look the same
So I can make up pairs again
So I will have one fewer grey hair
And stop you driving me to despair

I Turned You On

I turned you on
Now I can't turn you off
I turned you on
Now I can't turn you off
What a good, good feeling
A great sensation oh you and me baby
A good combination
Sock it to me, sock it to me
Sock it to me, sock it to me
Baby I started but I can't stop
I admit that I started baby
Oh but I can't stop it
What a good, good feeling
A great sensation oh you and me baby
A good combination
Sock it to me, sock it to me
Sock it to me, sock it to me
And get it George
Oh I turned you on sock it to me
Sock it to me, sock it to me
I turned you on
But I can't turn you off
Baby I said I turned you on
But I can't turn you off
Come on girl light my fire
Set me a little bit higher wooh
Round and round and up and down we go
Where we gonna stop baby nobody knows
Sock it to me, whip it to me
Give it to me, sock it to me
Sock it to me

It's Your Thing

It's your thing
Do what you wanna do
I can't tell you
Who to sock it to
It's your thing
Do what you wanna do now
I can't tell you
Who to sock it to
If you want me to love you, maybe I will
I need you woman, it ain't no big deal
You need love now, just as bad as I do
Make's me no difference now, who you give your thing to
It's your thing (It's your thing)
Do what you wanna do
I can't tell you
Who to sock it to
It's your thing (It's your thing)
Do what you wanna do now
I can't tell you
Who to sock it to
It's your thing (It's your thing)
Do what you wanna do
I can't tell you
Who to sock it to
I'm not trying to run your life,
I know you wanna do what's right,
Ah, give your love girl, do whatever you choose,
How can you lose, with the stuff you use?
It's your thing (It's your thing)
Do what you wanna do
I can't tell you
Who to sock it to
It's your thing (It's your thing)
Do what you wanna do
Don't let me tell you
Who to sock it to
Let me hear you say it's my thing (It's your thing),
I do what I wanna do......

One Pair of Eyes

One sock found...
Still requires a pair of shoes to wear,
For those with two feet!
But one pair of eyes is no guarantee,
A pebble can not cause one to stumble
On a path taken under a bright and clear sky!

The Sock

It was early one morning
When I heard something horrible close by snoring
There, on the floor by my bed I could see
A long dark strange shape, mouth open staring at me
I had to hold my nose the smell was so foul
And as I wondered what it was, it gave a growl
So quickly I grabbed a pillow and threw it hard
Only to miss it by more than a yard
This thing was fast that's for sure
Like lightning it moved to hide behind the door
To my surprise I soon discovered
That this thing was an animal like no other
I was indeed put in a state of shock
When I identified this terrifying animal as my sock
A sock that I had worn for many weeks
And had lost but not washed and badly reeked
How I was going to catch this rodent sock I had no idea
So sat in bed thinking until it disappeared
When there was no sign of the sock to be seen
I decided quickly to prepare the washing machine
Set to ‘intensive' and with lots of soap
I waited patiently and in hope
For sooner or later the sock must appear
Drawn by curiosity and the smell of cheese and cheap beer
Sure enough I hadn't needed to wait long
For the trap was set using a cheese and beer smelling thong
It rushed around the corner and into the machine
And I quickly slammed the door and set it on clean
After two hours of being tumbled washed and dried
I took the poor fellow out who was more dead than alive
Now weeks later I'm pleased to show
Everything is back to normal as I wear my thong outside my pants wherever I go

Sock Monkeys Day Out(children's poem)

The Sock Monkeys
Arose and got a key
They have a nice car
That shines like star.

It was just a fine day
Sock Monkeys were happy
Activity filled their house
Scurrying around was Mouse

Happy Lumpy and Huggy
Stubby Flappy Lips and Grumpy
All got in quickly in red car
And laughed happily munching bar

Then they went mall for some shopping
After that they went for some dining
Then they went for some movie theater peeking
And finished fun day with 'Curious George' watching!

People Is Like

Some people is like a diamond that can't help it but just to look at it
And cherish it every day some people is like a pair of pants
That you change every day, some people is like a pair of sock
That keep you warm through the night some people is like a teddy
Bear that you can hold and cuddle with and tell it that you love it
All through the night some people is like a book that you just want to
Open it and read just before you go to bed at night

My awesome amazing rainbow sock

Sitting on my bright green clock
Just waiting for a walk
Is my amazing rainbow sock
It will just sit there and mock
Like an mean old jock
As still as a rock
On my bright green clock
But it I will never walk
I only have one amazing rainbow sock

Pablo Neruda

Ode to My Socks

Mara Mori brought me
a pair of socks
which she knitted herself
with her sheepherder's hands,
two socks as soft as rabbits.
I slipped my feet into them
as if they were two cases
knitted with threads of twilight and goatskin,
Violent socks,
my feet were two fish made of wool,
two long sharks
sea blue, shot through
by one golden thread,
two immense blackbirds,
two cannons,
my feet were honored in this way
by these heavenly socks.
They were so handsome for the first time
my feet seemed to me unacceptable
like two decrepit firemen,
firemen unworthy of that woven fire,
of those glowing socks.

Nevertheless, I resisted the sharp temptation
to save them somewhere as schoolboys
keep fireflies,
as learned men collect
sacred texts,
I resisted the mad impulse to put them
in a golden cage and each day give them
birdseed and pieces of pink melon.
Like explorers in the jungle
who hand over the very rare green deer
to the spit and eat it with remorse,
I stretched out my feet and pulled on
the magnificent socks and then my shoes.

The moral of my ode is this:
beauty is twice beauty
and what is good is doubly good
when it is a matter of two socks
made of wool in winter.

How She Boogalooed It

Oh we was dancing in a really big city
Got excited by the sound of a party
Now my heart beat while the music was groovin
And if you wanted to you couldnt keep from movin
Look around do you believe what you seein
The walls are movin the ceilings a-reelin
Couples over in the corner romancin
Oh the boys are with me to do some outta sight dancin
Gotta girl givin me some lessons
And now shes gonna be my confession
Arent you glad we found our way in here
Put another record up on the player
Hey theres a stoned party dancin with the police
Dont have to worry about disturbing the peace
Met a fine chick that really got to me

Polk Salad Annie

(words & music by tony joe white)
Some of you all never been down south too much...
I gonna tell you a little story, so youll understand where Im talking about
Down there we have a plant that grows out in the woods and the fields,
And it looks something like a turnip green.
Everybody calls it polk salad. now thats polk salad.
Used to know a girl that lived down there and
Shed go out in the evenings to pick a mess of it...
Carry it home and cook it for supper, cause thats about all they had to eat,
But they did all right.
Down in louisiana
Where the alligators grow so mean
Lived a girl that I swear to the world
Made the alligators look tame
Polk salad annie
gators got your granny
Everybody said it was a shame
For the mama was working on the chain-gang
What a mean, vicious woman
Everyday before suppertime
Shed go down by the truck patch
And pick her a mess of polk salad
And carry it home in a tote sack
Polk salad annie
gators got you granny
Everybody said it was a shame
cause the mama was working on the chain-gang
Whoo, how wretched, dispiteful, straight-razor totin woman,
Lord have mercy.
Sock a little polk salad to him
Yeah, you know what, yeah, yeah
But daddy was a lazy and a no-count
Claimed he had a bad back
All her brothers were fit for
Was stealing watermelons out of my truck
For once polk salad annie
gators got your granny
Everybody said it was a shame
For the mama was working on the chain-gang
Sock a little polk salad to him
You know what meets a meal mention
You sock a little
Hey, hey, hey, yeah, yeah
Chic a bon, chic a bon, chic a bon bon bon bon
Chic a bon, chic a bon, chic a bon bon bon bon
Sock a little polk salad to him
You know what meets a meal mention
Sock a little polk salad to him
You know what meets a meal mention
Chinc, chinc, chinc, chin, ling, ling ling

It was just there

It was at the dance floor
under the Neelsie,
where I saw her sokkie
and every movement
was perfect.

When she walked to me
her long blonde hair,
was made in a French plait
and I was captured by her bright blue eyes.

There was something especially beautiful to her,
but suddenly my feet were made of lead
and I could almost not speak
or even move.

From somewhere she knew,
maybe out of another life
or another time,
that we were destined to dance.

Of sokkie I knew nothing,
but along with her
every movement was just there.

[References: Neelsie=> Stellenbosch University’s Neelsie student centre. Sokkie=> ”a Sokkie is a social dance with a partner. The word sokkie refers to the way people dance in their socks, without shoes. This is not always the case, but this type of dancing is always called sokkie. Folklore has it that this type of dancing was taken from the American style: Sock-Hop”]

The Insanity of the Sane....for my sister

Lost in her own domain
Where insanity flies on the wings of fly's
Where putrid pain loiters pon the thread of dread
Screaming for release

'PLEASE! ' she howls sobbing
Distraught
Again and again
Ignored whilst pounding the solid white door
Where this mighty little sprite
Rigid in one thought
To just walk
Yes walk to feed her lonesome cat
She cannot forget that
He maybe starving
(she does not see the reality)
But she feels the searing pain
The agony
The blood which slips from
Within her sock

She stops, slumps upon the floor
Slips off that sock

Her toe is gone
Her little toe removed by her own anger
She screams
A gathering of patients join in her trauma
Call for help
Ask for help
Beg for help

Screaming messy minds one end of the corridor
At the other end
Staff sit in the staff room casually sipping tea
For nearly half an hour
Ignore the dreaded plea's
Ignore the risen tempo
Just sit and sip their tea

How effing could they?
