Seeking Something Genuine
I too have gone through that process.
Believing if things,
Would only go my way...
Everything would be okay.
And those in doubt about 'my' decisions...
Would get over it!
And so happy, ultimately, we would all be.
So confident had I been,
With my interpretation of correctness.
I too abused myself with stubbornness.
Not knowing it then...
How a foolishness can haunt one's bliss.
With a believing if things,
Would only go my way...
Raised high on shoulders a lift I'd get,
To sniff the air...
With a hearing of cheers no one could resist!
And then a snapping done cracked me back into reality.
With a receiving of a request.
It seemed a lawyer wanted me to sign divorce papers.
And to do it without protest!
Does any of this make any sense to you?
Is there something I've expressed,
Sinking in and getting through?
What you want from me...
And what is not going to happen,
Is not a consideration I am going to make.
I have said no,
To any kind of relationship!
Freaky, homo, straight or discreet.
I aint into it.
I use to be...
All of that.
But today...
None of that is where I am at!
I am seeking something genuine.

The wonder of I in you
all part is one, and each part has gone
let all make as one, for each has partner to
be done
to make it easy all work must be ready
if my hands call everybody to do, the
things that make me happy, nobody must
be lazy
many times, my single eye, talk to my ears,
nose and mouth knowing that i need more
time, to have an overtime, yet all seems
to be uneasy
so tired that i can't see, so painful that i can

myself, what makes them so timid, when

i wonder why, the sky is high, the night is close

I think I've been called,
Every derogatory name there is.
When I was a kid that use to bother me.
Especially those names I couldn't spell.

what a slang words most people usually said today,
so sweet that, early morning it chores to the songs
of birds in the trees
it adds color of the day, a beautiful scene, an echo in
my ears, when the TV and my wife murmur ask to what
is happening today
I do believe in magic in a most sweeping believable
reality, a wisdom of human power, the language of
the universe today
woulda want to know what happen today, woulda the
stock market is going high, woulda the election be
fair, a very effected word that everybody remember and
understand the meaning
oh coulda the scientist make a difference in today's illness
coulda talk to me, education in this millennium coulda
make people satisfied of what is going on in this planet
shoulda we know the rating of each candidate for presidency
shoulda i miss you for a while, shoulda make me happy of the
offer my company gives
it is just a simple words, but it give us direction of where to
go, a powerful high sounding commitment, that geared us to
do the action, such phenomenon of affirmation is the world
needs it today

At one time I cared less,

I was too busy collecting 'things'
Believing they would bring me a happiness.
At one time I perceived,
My needs were different than yours.
I thought of life as a contest...
And doing whatever I could to win,
Regardless of any suffering you did...
Behind 'your' closed doors.
That was a problem 'you' had,
I chose to ignore.
At one time I thought myself better than most,
If I had a college degree.
Afterall, so many didn't!

Love set up in Flames
I thought you were the one. I mean we were so happy, of course we had our share of fights but who doesn’t. I would of done anything for you and I thought you felt the same. But you set our love up in flames. All I’m left with now are ashes and memories of what use to be. It kills me inside not knowing where it all went wrong. In just one day my world fell a part and I was like a bystander that could do nothing about it. How could you go from always wanting to be with me and telling me you would never break up with me because it would break your own heart, to not caring about even being my friend or talking to me? How can you just walk right past me like you don’t even know me after all the love we shared? You told me you always wanted to find love but when you did you just threw it away like it was nothing. I know it wasn’t always good but love isn’t perfect you always have to work at it because nobody is perfect so of course its not going to be, but it is worth it. I mean people make mistakes and change but your suppose to love them through it. I’m just so lost without you and I try to make my heart understand that you don’t love me and that it needs to get over it but it doesn’t listen. So tell me baby how can I get over you when your all I think about and every sign points straight to you? I guess all the signs are and were wrong though because you don’t care and I can’t make you love me again if you ever truly did. I mean it seemed like you did the way you held me, kissed me, that look in your eyes and all the things you said but then again maybe it was all for show. I guess I will truly never know if you did or not and if so how and why did you stop. All I know is that I can’t stop loving you even though you are a jerk to me now I remember how you use to be so sweet. I miss everything about you even hearing you play you guitar, and listening to your crazy blues music. I would do anything to get it all back and I know it would be better this time. But I know you don’t care. So I’m just left holding the ashes of a love gone wrong that’s slowly turning to hate with no way to make it right again. Oh how sad it is when a love goes up in flames and the one you loved did it. It kills a part of you that is forever lost and nothing is ever the same again because it changes you.
