Reminisced As Gifts

Constant was that pain grimaced,
In those loved faces missed...
I knew.

So close to them I cherished each moment.
Even down to the seconds,
When death took them away.
To leave me numb and staring.
With emotions drifting...
Out of touch.
Taken away...
By those I loved so much.

And agony did stay with me for a while.
Until one day I felt them all,
Smiling.
And I knew then,
It was okay for me to do the same.
As I keep them reminisced,
As gifts.
From a sharing treasured!

I Have Always Loved You

Since the beginning of time
Since it started to rain
Since I heard you laugh
Since I felt your pain
I was too young, you were much younger
We were afraid of each other's hunger
I have always loved you
There's never been anyone else
I knew you before I knew myself
Oh my baby,
I have always loved you
Since we kissed the first time
Since we slept on the beach
You were too close for comfort
You were too far out of reach
You walked away,
I should have held you
Would you have stayed for me to tell you?
I have always loved you
There's never been anyone else
I knew you before I knew myself
Oh my baby,
I have always loved you
Years go by in a matter of days
And though we go separate ways
I never stop dreaming of you
I have always loved you
And when you call it makes me cry
We never made time for you and
I if I could live it all again
I'd never let it end,
I'd still be with you
Oh
God, I miss you
I have always loved you
There's never been anyone else
I knew you before
I knew myself
Oh my baby,
I have always loved you
Years go by in a matter of days
And though we go separate ways
I never stop dreaming of you
I have always loved you

Finally...Here We Are

I knew you knew me.
The moment I saw you,
I knew you knew.

I knew you felt my heart.
The passion and compassion.
Here inside...
Wishing for someone to recognize.

I knew you knew me.
The moment I saw you,
I knew you knew.

I knew you too wanted to touch.
And we hungered for that very much.

And finally...
Here we are!
To notice,
And taste this dream.

He Hit Me

He hit me and it felt like a kiss
He hit me but it didn't hurt me
He couldn't stand to hear me say
That i'd been with someone new
And when i told him i had been untrue
He hit me and it felt like a kiss
He hit me and i knew he loved me
Cause if he didn't care for me
I could have never made him mad
He hit me and i was glad
Baby won't you stay...
He hit me and it felt like a kiss
He hit me and i knew i loved him
Cause when he took me in his arms
With all the tenderness there is
He hit me and he made me feel
Baby won't you stay...

When I leave

When my arm is cold and numb
And laid to its final rest,
What would be the last thought they would have
If you could remember or relive one last quest.

When my eyes close their very last time
What would be the last sight for them to see,
Would it be a sight, that gave a delight,
To be cherished by my soul through me.

When my fingers loose their sense of touch
What touch would be missed most of all,
Would it be the roses in the summertime,
Or the many leaves, that I touched in fall.

When my lips quiver their last time to shut
What would be the last feeling for it to miss,
Would it be to say a prayer or speak a thought
Or would it be to perform one last kiss.

When it is time for me to leave this Earth
I know that I must go all alone,
Sadly I will leave and happily I will go
As I live a empty world, to enter a new home.

Before my arm goes they need one last hug
Then it will go with pain and delight.
Before my eyes close shut as surely they’ll do
They will see Heaven in sight that night.
Before my fingers loose their sense of touch
A loves hair they would need to brush
They must feel the softness that they once knew,
Then they will leave, with just a hush.
My heart would beat one last time for you
And for my lips, what would be their finale wish,
Would it be a prayer or a poem to recite
Or would it be a last goodbye kiss.

Like I Never Loved Before

(phil vassar, robert byrne)
I guess I gave myself to someone
Maybe a time or two
I tried, I went through the motions
What was I supposed to do
I spun my wheels, I wasted so much time
And then with you I finally got it right
Its like I never loved before
Like I never saw the sun
Or felt the rainfall on my face
Its like its never ever been
I cant imagine life without you anymore
It feels just like I never loved before
I never talked about forever
Now its not long enough
Whos that guy lookin in the mirror
Cause its not the man I was
I only know I tremble when we kiss
Im making up for everything I missed
Its like I never loved before
Like I never saw the sun
Or felt the rainfall on my face
Its like its never ever been
I cant imagine life without you anymore
It feels just like I never loved before
I ran around in circles
I never knew
I was only getting ready for you
Its like I never loved before
Like I never saw the sun
Or felt the rainfall on my face
Its like its never ever been
I cant imagine life without you anymore
It feels just like I never loved before

When will I be Loved

I’m in my late thirties now and in all these years I have never felt loved.
Which has me now asking the question when will I be loved?
Will I be loved before all my hair turns completely grey?
Will I be loved before the sun sets this very day?
When will I be loved?
Will I be loved while I can still remember what love means?
Will I be loved tonight while I dream?
When will I be loved?
At times love has seemed close enough that I could reach out and grab it, but as I reached I realized love was not as close as it seemed.
Love is my white whale and just like Ahab the chase is driving me mad.
When will I be loved?

Around The Plynth

(rod stewart, ron wood)
Woken up on mornings such as this
And thought exactly the same as Im thinking now.
Every night for a year Ive slept alone.
Cold damp room looks worse than me, no no no
Got a fear of death that creeps on every night.
I know I wont die soon, but then again I might,
Water down the drain, Im wasting away.
And doctors cant help me a ghost of a man thats me, no no
Water down the drain goes to the sea,
The pattern of my life keeps a-haunting me.
Moisture from the ocean fills the sky,
Come on down to the ground as the time goes by, no no no no no
Slow down there
I never found out the reason why
Why my parents had to lie
About the place that I was born
And from my hometown I was torn
At the tender age of four
I was livin by a homemade law
I never knew when it was to be laid
My desires are never displayed
I never knew what it was to be loved
I never knew what it was to be laid
I never knew what it was to win
I never knew what it was to be loved, nonono
Ah, get on up there
I never knew what it was to be loved
I never knew what it was to be laid
Nonononono
Slow down there

My own love

When I told I loved you, did I scare you away? When I told you I loved you?
Did it make you want to stay?
How precious these days are? I just can not say?
I love you more than I ever knew.
I been waiting to meet you, and the day finally came.
I felt you in my soul, you were the other part of me.
Now your here and I am complete...
When I told I loved you, did I scare you away? When I told you I loved you?
Did it make you want to stay?
You are my dream lover, my best friend, without you, I am not complete.....
I been waiting for you and I even met you in my dreams......
I had love so confused and I made all my mistakes and I thought it was you.....
When I told I loved you, did I scare you away? When I told you I loved you?
Did it make you want to stay?
Tell me you love and just don't go away.....

I Never Knew Lonely

No other lover ever really cared
When I've reached out for you you've always been there
Now I'm so far away and baby I'm scared
I never knew lonely 'til you
You are my rock and the strength I need
To keep me sane in this life that I lead
Now I'm not with you and my broken heart bleeds
I never knew lonely 'til you
I never knew lonely could be so blue
I never knew lonely could tear you in two
I never loved someone like I love you
I never knew lonely 'til you
I can't make up for the times I've been gone
But I'll prove I love you in the words of this song
Back in your arms girl it's where I belong
I never knew lonely 'til you
I never knew lonely could be so blue
I never knew lonely could tear you in two
I never loved someone like I love you
Girl I never knew lonely 'til you
I never knew lonely could be so blue
I never knew lonely could tear you in two
I never loved someone like I love you
Girl I never knew lonely 'til you

If Daddy Only Knew

I wonder if Daddy knew I had to become super-responsible and a miniature adult at the age of 12
I wonder if Daddy knew life at home was full of broken promises and full of disappointment.
I wonder if Daddy knew why he didn't ever carry me fishing
I wonder if Daddy knew why I had to take life so seriously
I wonder if Daddy knew why I couldn't have fun like my other friends
I wonder if Daddy knew I never really knew what 'normal' was
I wonder if Daddy knew I had to lie and cover up the truth about our family for all those years when telling the truth would have been easier
I wonder if Daddy knew why he didn't ever tell me he loved me. Was it because I was a little 'man'?
I wonder if Daddy knew why he didn't come to my graduation?
I wonder if Daddy knew how much I loved him?
I wonder if Daddy knew how many times the arguments and yelling was my bedtime lullaby?
I wonder if Daddy knew..................that I knew

Late For The Sky (Live Montreux 82)

The words had all been spoken
And somehow the feeling still wasn't right
And still we continued on through the night
Tracing our steps from the beginning
Until they vanished into the air
Trying to understand how our lives has led us there
Looking hard into your eyes
There was nobody I'd ever known
Such an empty surprise to feel so alone
Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be
Awake again I can't pretend and I know I'm alone
And close to the end of the feeling we've known
How long have I been sleeping
How long have I been drifting alone through the night
How long have I been dreaming I could make it right
If I closed my eyes and tried with all my might
To be the one you need
Awake again I can't pretend and I know I'm alone
And close to the end of the feeling we've known
How long have I been sleeping
How long have I been drifting alone through the night
How long have I been running for that morning flight
Through the whispered promises and the changing light
Of the bed where we both lie
Late for the sky

Never-know-it-all and Know-it-all

I never knew what love was
When I hadn't loved at all.
Once I loved I knew it
And knew that I would always love
By never knowing all.

I knew what was love
When I hadn't loved at all,
Knew that when it came along
It didn't stand a chance
Because I knew it all.

A Story

He loved her and he was untrue—
Untrue he was, let loved her still;
For out of nether darkness drew
The winds that lashed his wandering will.

She lived in joy all unaware,
In pain and joy his children bore,
While hidden spectres of despair
Drove him to love her more and more.

And when she knew the truth at last,
Suddenly she grew still and strange.
Her rag of haggard youth was cast
Upon the evil winds of change.

She heard, and could not understand;
She paled, and could not bloom again.
So bland death took her by the hand,
Looked in her eyes and made all plain,

Yes, wise death taught her all, and so,
Smiling once more, she kissed and passed.
And he, caught in life's overthrow,
Faced love and death alone at last.

At last, made strong by love and death,
He gave her truth for truth, and knew
Now she had won his perfect faith.
Dying, she doomed him to be true.

The Pained

I can see it in her eyes
The pain gnawing at her on and on
I can feel it too
Same as I can feel my own pain

For days we would fleetingly
Look at each others eyes
I know she can feel my pain
Same as she can feel her own

Comes a time
When I long for those fleeting seconds
Oh when will the opening be
When will the sharing be

Then did the moment come a day
What the eyes knew
Spoken through the mouth
Pain and pain intertwined

We did become
Companions in pain
Sometimes ecstasy, sometimes sweet pain
Yes bearable pain

But then did life take her
Ended her pain for all times
Leaving me with a thousandfold
Pain and pain

I Wouldve Loved You Anyway

(m.danna/t.verges)
If Id a-known the way that this would end
If Id a-read the last page first
If Id a-had the strength to walk away
If Id a-known how this would hurt
I wouldve loved you anyway
Id do it all the same
Not a second I would change
Not a touch that I would trade
Had I known my heart would break
Id a-loved you anyway
Its bittersweet to look back now
At memries withered on the vine
But just to hold you close to me
For a moment in time
I wouldve loved you anyway
Id do it all the same
Not a second I would change
Not a touch that I would trade
Had I known my heart would break
Id a-loved you anyway
And even if Id seen it coming
Youd stillve seen me running
Straight into your arms
I wouldve loved you anyway
Id do it all the same
Not a second I would change
Not a touch that I would trade
Had I known my heart would break
I wouldve loved you anyway
I wouldve loved you anyway

Alzheimer's Disease

Twice,
There would be goodbyes...
Spoken.
With hearts broken.
And words uncertain,
If heard and understood.

~As an essence known,
Would flow to go.~

Twice,
A familiar light of life...
Would flicker to slowly dim.
As those loved ones and friends,
Stood by to witness...
Without a defense to what commenced.

~As an essence known,
Would flow to go.~

And...
Just once,
In the end...
Alzheimer's Disease,
Would finally win...
This long and emotional battle.

~As an essence known,
Would flow to go...
Away.~

Dedicated To:
Those who knew and suffered through,
The losing of close family members and friends...
To Alzheimer's Disease.

'You are loved and missed,
Clara Louise Countryman Pertillar...
By all who knew and loved you too.'
My wonderful Grandmother.

To A Friend

To a friend, Whose sorrow is great,
Where every problem surrounds, my close mate;
Christ is waiting, close by to you,
You just need to give it to Him that's true.

To a Brother, whose pain is so bad,
Till you feel like screaming, and so sad;
Jesus knows that pain, He can take,
So God will take that pain, all day you're awake.

To a sister, with a child whose problems so hard,
When at school is in trouble, and the name on the card;
Give it to Jesus, He can change the child's heart,
To make them behave, and they'll become smart.

To a wife or husband whose loved one has left,
And gone away, so their loved one is so bereft;
Christ has that loved one in whom they knew,
And Christ will always remain with you.

Agony

Ever wonder how He felt?
Praying in the garden
His students asleep
Could not watch for an hour
He knew He had to die
Even if it's just for me
He would be scourged
He would sweat blood
Even if it's just for me
Agony!

There He was, fixed
Nails in hands and feet
For a moment
Abandoned by God
Agony!

They pierced Him
Blood and water gushed
Mom at His feet
Brothers vanquished
Head bowed
Breathed His last
How He felt?
Think you have it hard?
Think about Him
Agony!

He was wrapped
Buried and left
Thought it was the end?
Not so fast!
Three days later
He got up
Just like that
Now He reigns victorious

Today knees bow
Eyes close
Agony?

The First Time You Denied My Touch

The first time you denied my touch...
I knew it was getting closer to over,
For us.
The first time you denied my touch...
Our relationship had ran out of 'fizz'.
What did it?

Did you know I was just expecting sex without love?
Then when I'm done,
I'm gone?

You knew that!
You had to.
I was taking you for granted,
And this you knew!

The first time you denied my touch...
It was me.
Not you.
And I knew it too well!

The first time you denied my touch.
I felt an ache slowly creeping up inside,
Of me.
I tried to breathe soft and slow,
So you wouldn't know it.

The first time you denied my touch.
My tears came to fall.
And that was not easy....
Faking a rest,
After a grueling crawl.

'Thank you.
But no...
I am not preparing for the Olympics.
I'm just laying here to meditate on the ground,
For a moment.'

The first time you denied my touch.
Love was not there to respond.

The first time you denied my touch,
I knew you felt it too inside...
I was gone!
And I knew it then,
I had been gone too long!

Too long for you to deny me,
Of what's mine!

'EXCUSE ME?
Repeat that! '

The first time you denied my touch...
I knew it was getting closer to over,
For us.
The first time you denied my touch...
Our relationship had ran out of 'fizz'.
What did it?

Did you know I was just expecting sex without love?
Then when I'm done,
I'm gone?

'That's not what you said.
But you're getting to the point.
I'm in the bed and going to sleep.
What you do with your needs,
That's up to you.'

We just need time to get our booty better!

'EXCUSE ME?
Repeat that! '

The first time you denied my touch,
I knew you felt it too inside...
I was gone!
And I knew it then,
I had been gone too long!

Too long for you to deny me,
Of what's mine!

One moment one time

One moment one time Yes one moment one time Yesterday one moment one time six feet down they are buried It was just like yesterday people smiled, people laughed, people played together under one roof, under one umbrella No one knew death would come calling fast No one knew death would keep knocking the heart of men like a whirlwind All we ever knew was that death kept knocking persistently They crash landed from Dana air into the world of great beyond, where they will rest in peace from the hassles of this wicked world All that hoped for the best in life crash landed on the 3rd of June 2012 for no fault of theirs Crash! Crash! ! Crash! ! ! the dead have gone home so soon Blood bath have taken over the airspace in split of seconds washing away the top soil The time ticks The day counts fast The death kept calling seconds by seconds on a daily basis The night is very short as we wake and sleep Death is dangerous as it takes us unaware without our notice at all Those alive cried , tears kept rolling down like balls of abundant rain Death has done its worst and we can do nothing We have wept and wept out our eyes from the socket, one moment one time
