Remedy? See it, Read It And Delete

Why send a message,
With an expectation to receive a response.
If your 'email' box is full and blocked.
And when you confront people,
You ask of them...
Why has their communication stopped.

Why bother to have email at all?
If this instant way of keeping in touch,
Is quicker than making a telephone call.

Or if someone says,
'I answered your message...
Why haven't you responded? '
And that person says...
~Time has prevented me to do it.~
And this is the same person heard to say...
~No one ever tells me what's going on.
And if they did...
I haven't reviewed my email for weeks.~

Remedy?
See it, read it and delete!

Money and Friends

When I was a teen my mom would say
“If you know someone you dislike
Loan that bright person some money
And he’d sure disappear from site”

“People that owes you money
Would not call or email to say hello
Would not send a card on a holiday
They’d rather wish you’d go away”

“Friends that asked you for a loan
And you happened to be broke
Would not call or email to say hello
Would not send a card on a holiday”

My smart mommy is always right
I think I’d rather keep happy friends
Ones that don’t need my money and
Ones I like to call and love their emails

For example, I was discussing the use of email and how impersonal it can be, how people will now email someone across the room rather than go and talk to them. But I don't think this is laziness, I think it is a conscious decision people are making to save time.

Keeping email alive in touch

Keeping email alive in touch

A day gone by without your mail
I seem to be a year for me
Today I read your mail
Is full with gladness and happiness
Family and friends
Getting in touch
From around the world
I dream of the day, when we meet
Or again
In real from around the world
I will tell you, how much I love you
My family and your Friendship
When we do we spend all day long
Talking of this
Miracle email alive
Only we can make this happen
Because we been waiting for this moment
For a long time
I been waiting to meet you all
Or again
I miss you all
And to be my true friends
That you donâ? ? t know yet
When we meet each other
You agree my family and friends
When I read your mail
From the most beautiful family and friends
I have with you all
It is so pleasant to understand
I want you to know
You are the most loving
Family and friends
I want to feel your peasant
Completely our friendship
I truly love to have family and friends
Like you all
To all my beloved family and friends
Are important to me
Life in touch will never stop
Whatever weather
Keeping email alive in touch
The more successful is filled with common sense

Techno Love

Joy and passion
The beginning of all
Text my heart to
My latest blog
Warmth form my soul
I send to you
Passion and joy
The end doesn't come
Reach out and touch another
Email and instant message
Send out my digital love
Taste my technological lust
Freedom is the key
But its action that
Opens the door

I cry for the loves that I lost
And for the love I will never know

Email Someone

You wonder
What will happen
If you email someone.

Maybe nothing!
And then you may feel
Terrible.

Email someone
Just once
And you may get nothing.
But if you keep doing it
In a safe and sensible manner?

Why that is the way
One of the highways
Out of loneliness!

The Declining Art Of Communication

We all seem to be living our lives
At an ever increasing pace.
We are finding less and less time
To meet up with people face to face.

You often read stories in the press,
About people being fired or dumped by text.
The way in which we communicate has changed so much,
That you do find yourself wondering 'Whatever next? '

There are some things, which by text or email,
You just really shouldn't say:
Like, if you're telling someone that they're no longer wanted,
Or that someone they know has just passed away.

You can check your email at your leisure,
Unlike if someone contacts you by phone,
But like they say, it's good to talk,
So you really shouldn't moan.

I love receiving letters on fancy paper from my friends,
And hear them dropping through my letterbox,
But the whole idea of 'snail' as opposed to email,
Is a concept which, nowadays, is often mocked.

If you're talking face to face,
You're less likely to get the wrong impression.
You can connect more to people's thoughts and feelings,
If you are able to read their facial expressions.

Tackling a sensitive subject with someone,
Often has us trembling with fear,
But is it really better for it to be discussed
Electronically, rather than ear to ear?

Sometimes, you can spend hours together,
During which time, very little of importance is said.
Then, later, you log on to your computer,
And discover all the gossip is on there instead!

If you put all of your news on Facebook,
You may find your face to face conversation is suddenly dead.
When you next meet up with someone and mention your news,
They will turn to you, and say 'Yeah, you said'!

The world of communication has come on in leaps and bounds,
But, in some ways, it has advanced too much.
Communication can now be so impersonal,
That we seem to have lost the human touch.

Quiz Poem #3: World City

The 'triumphant one' in a sea of sand,
founded by caliphs of old, and
once the prize of the 'emperor' from France.
Hanging Church and the Virgin's tree, to enhance?

Okay, did you get the city's name? There are five poems that form a 'quiz poem: world city' in which you have to guess the capital city from anywhere in the world! Easy huh? Once you've got the city's name (or even if you have all five) just email me. It's for fun!

Do email answers rather than put them here as a comment, as that'll spoil it for others. So far the response has been good. Let me know if you like the idea - even if you haven't got the answer or don't want to take part.

This marble capital to guess is, from two brothers, born.
Queen Victoria eyes Caesar's,
Awfully Painful corns.
A mnemonic of seven mounds sieze hers.

Quiz Poem #4: World City

The city bears the name of a goddess with an owl near,
And she assisted Jason, Heracles and others of old.
She's sometimes seen with helmet, shield or spear,
This matronly, patronly, petrified leader is quite bold.

Your letter is beautiful

Your letter is beautiful
and tells about things deep in your heart
but what lies between the lines
are unnamed things
that you are saying anyway.

To eagerly I want you
here with me
and it’s as if you
cannot untie time
to make yesterday
today again.

Sometimes you email
and at times I email you
and life takes its course
and like somebody raving
I feel caught in it all

as if there’s always a goodbye
between you and I
and the letter
ends much too quickly.

Get In Touch

Send us a letter,
Write us some prose,
Slip us an Email,
Text us, I suppose,
Pick up the phone now,
A message please, Hugh,
Because for six months
We've heard nothing from you.

Where are you living,
What's your address,
This waiting to hear
Is now causing distress.
The last time you phoned
You were travelling to Rome,
So are you still roaming?
When will you be home?

I'm sure that a stamp
Doesn' t cost very much,
It just needs a lick
So come on, get in touch.
We miss you alot,
We must speak to you too!
We're not pushing you, Son
But your Wife's overdue!

I Got An Email Today

I got an email today
It said an old friend of mine
Had died today

God had drawn the line
And his weary body
Was finally ready to cross

His family is at a loss
But just maybe
His spirit is ageless

I got an email today
It made me think of tomorrow
And to reflect back at the time borrowed

What would you do
If the doc told you
Your time has grown short

Get your life in order
And say your goodbye's
To your husband or wife

Say your goodbye's
To your kids
When they were your life

I got an email today
It told me life is too short
Too short to sit back to waste

Keep Talking

Citizens of the world, to you, I now do beseech,
Whatever happened to good old fashioned speech?
Now, we all seem to communicate with our fingers,
So that, no longer, in the air, do any spoken sounds linger.
If we talk to each other, face to face or on a telephone,
We can detect colour in speech and variations in tone.

We rely too much on electronic communication, but
If electricity and mobile phone networks were ever cut,
To us, the world around us, would suddenly fall apart,
And, with regards to communication, we’d be back at the start.
We would have to revert to the communication system of old,
With news and views, to each other, now being, personally, told.

Speaking to each other in person, is a pretty sure fire way
To ensure important information doesn’t get lost along the way.
You’ve probably had someone send you an email, that you didn’t get,
And you probably have undelivered text messages somewhere, I bet!
The idea that, to each other, we should actually speak,
Is one which, nowadays, seems considered rather antique.

Methods of communication seem to forever advance,
But, to form relationships with others, we get less chance.
If we talk to each other, there’s usually room for two way interaction,
But, by using electronic means, from this, there’s a marked retraction.
Whether it be to a friend, relation, colleague or lover,
We really do need to keep on talking to each other.

Technology And Communications

What’s your mobile number?
I’ll call you later when
Things are not so busy
Now, just where is my pen?
No – let’s think – I’ll send an email
At least by close of play
Or maybe a text message
Is there any other way?
I could send facsimilies
Or faxes as they’re known
Sorry, I’m so busy
I really have to go.

Go where?
Go check my emails
Go where?
Go check my phone
Go where?
Go check my messages
Go where?
I just don’t know.

The magic of technology
Is it doesn’t matter where
The sender and receiver are
Or in their underwear
But we’ve got lost in all of this
Checking for things here and there
What seemed like real time saving
Now makes us pull out our hair
We spend so much time receiving
And retrieving things on screen
When a simple conversation
Could have made clear what we mean.

Remove It From Your Mind

Does the shallowness,
Of one with a fickled soul show...
If it is announced to another,
How much a missing of one's presence is...
After many years has come to go,
Without a sign of contact.

Or...
Should the one who has been contacted,
Not be suspicious of this act at all.
If the one proclaiming to have done the missing...
Responds to an email sent 'eleven' years ago,
And did not express this in a telephone call.

'Well,
My opinion is this...
That person isn't too high,
On a priority list.
And a confession made,
After that length of time has come to go away...
I wouldn't be suspicious.
I would remove it from my mind to dismiss this quick.'

Hypothetically speaking?

'Hypothetically speaking or not.
People like that are into themselves.
People like that are thoughtless and should be dropped.'

Send A Message

In a line of fire I stand and wait for you, I cant hold out for too long
Searchin every part of me for a sign, Im in the middle of a storm
I keep hopin, keep on dreamin, somehow youll get through to me
So I reach across the silence, in the air, I keep hopin for a sound
Just a word or two is all I need, how can I bring you back around
Can you hear me, can I touch you, show me the way to your heart
Chorus:
Send a message - send me a message tonight
Send a message - in my dreams you are never out of sight
Send a message - let me stand in your light, just send me a message
In my dark and lonely night I look for you, wont you save me from myself
When my senses melt away you will be here and I wont need nobody else
I cant hold back, I wont fight it, roll back this stone from my heart
Send a message - send me a message tonight
Send a message - in my dreams you are never out of sight
Send a message - let me stand in your light, just send me a message
Everything you are (everything you are)
Means everything to me (means everything to me)
I will wait for you (I will wait)
Time is all we need (is all)
(guitar solo)
I keep hopin, keep on dreamin, somehow youll get through to me
Send a message - send me a message tonight
Send a message - in my dreams you are never out of sight
Send a message - let me stand in your light, just send me a message
(send a, send a, send a, send a, send a, send a) Im ready, I am ready
Send a, send a
Send me a, me a
Send a, send a...
