Recaptured

Recaptured,
From desires of wanting favorite seasons...
To remain unchanged.

Recaptured,
From seeking things to bring me happiness...
To last forever.
Realizing that would be a long wait,
Between each whim.
As boredom began to suddenly creep in.

Recaptured,
From beliefs that winning anything,
Brought a peace of mind.
When peace of any kind,
Is determined and defined...
By the one who finds it,
Without conditions sought.

Recaptured,
From thoughts that good sex...
Had to involve someone else.

Well...
I am recuperating,
From years spent in self contained confinement.
We all adapt to our own entrapments.
Nothing is perfect.
And besides...
My recovery may be a slower process than others.
And I am in no hurry,
To begin interviews with anyone...
Who may qualify to satisfy my needs.

Some abilities acquired,
Never leave one's memory.
And I am more than prepared,
To take matters into my own hands...
To rekindle anything that may have laid dormant,
From lack of internal activity.

I do have my memories.
And all of them did not end,
With gratifying pleasantries.

I've been recaptured!
Not retooled.

Note:
'Thank you, Herbert, for suggesting 'sought'.
That really strengthened the stanza,
and overall composition.'

Who is Herbert?
Why that is Mr. Herbert Nehrlich.
Johannesburg, South Africa. lol

Gone For Good

A greatness once had,
Can not be recaptured...
By the snap of one's fingers.
Or an emergency visit made,
By one's drug dealer...
Who has promised to restore,
Unblemished visions from the past!

When you are washed up,
You've become washed up for good...
In Hollywood.
Listening to one's self singing,
Sweet melodies...
Recorded on CD's on loan,
From the local library...
Doesn't get empathy from Mother Nature.

When fame and fortune is misused,
In a conscious self abuse.
It becomes known and shown.
To garner bouquets of disrespect.
And loyalty is noticed to be distanced.

A greatness once had,
Can not be recaptured...
By the snap of one's fingers.
Or an emergency visit made,
By one's drug dealer.

Achieving greatness is something,
No one should ever take for granted.
Or believed can be enforced,
To be accepted once it is gone.
Once it leaves an ego unguarded...
That greatness is gone for good!
And not for the good of perceptions.

I Dared

All that is,
And welcomed to be remembered...
Lives here,
In my heart within me.
To be recaptured,
As fresh
Or as stale as I choose to recall.
So packed my life is with memories.
Sometimes I find myself laughing or smiling alone.
Knowing I've done some outrageous things.
And happy today...
I dared!
And was encouraged to live uninhabited.

Opening The Door

Opening
the door
returning
to
yesterday.

Peek ing
inside a
thousand
thoughts
run the
corridors
of my
mind.

all our
treasures
remain
in tact.

just as
we left
them
so long
ago.

Our tree
house
neat
and tidy..

dolls
dressed
in their
finest,
waiting
for our
return.

It is
not the
same
now,
someone
is
missing.

Yesterday
cannot be
recaptured
as it
once was.

I quietly
close
the door
turn
away.

walk
into
the
future

leaving
them
undisturbed.

Heart of Closure+ (2006)

Our fainted hearts collided
we fell into each others emotions...
we created a heavenly gift when we united
You struggled most of the time, alone
thinking I was lost, I remained in solitude...

You said you did your best
I know you will never forgive,
Your heart next to mine will always detest
Yes! it's a recaptured memory, but
it's a memory I would love to relive,
and a memory I will never forget...

Letting That Go...To Grow

We provide,
Too many excuses.
And allow escapes,
From a lack of discipline.

Don't we all,
Relish to rehash
Good and bad experiences...
Recaptured from our pasts.
And relate to them,
As if time for us is standing still.
To watch and admire,
Those strong wills we have...
Doing our best to hold onto youth,
With a slipping grasp.

Instead of letting that go...
To grow.
Like blades of grass,
Some pamper.
Until mulched and trashed!
Remembered,
But forgotten...
At last!
To become recycled.
As everything in nature has!

In the Mood For Romance?

Do I feel in the mood for romance?
Of course I do.
And to prove it...
As soon as you release the person,
That capitivated my heart that's entrapped
In that body!
The one I had a relationship with?
Romance is here to give.
And I'm sure it is missed,
As much as I miss it!
In fact,
I'm going out now...
To see if it can be recaptured.

When I'll Have My Dream

I read about MLK junior
His dreams in Birmingham and on the streets
I followed the words and tone clear
Still I hear his cry for a just society I his s[speeches
He fought for the proletariat with his life
Took a bullet for people he knew
Not in person but for problems shared
A great man who’ll live forever
Should have been his epitaph

But as for me and my house- me myself and I
Shall bid time waiting for my dream
Up in the mountains in skies blue
My dream shall come from
I beg it be released
So that I can change destiny
Of Kenya, my Africa

I’m not Obama getting a dream from his father
Not a freedom fighter forty years ago
Dreaming for a free Kenya, Africa
By their blood freedom was recaptured
But lo! The betrayal that is the aftermath
Impotent post-independence ashes are about

Kenya my Kenya please forgive me your son
Africa my Africa inspire me
I need a dream now to save all
Children dying hungry learning not ABC

If we are a metaphor of the universe, the human couple is the metaphor par excellence, the point of intersection of all forces and the seed of all forms. The couple is time recaptured, the return to the time before time.

Legitimacy

No plaques?
No head stones?
He did not start the inferno.
It was a misspelt agony
in purple ruins.
Pain had no other name!

While thinking of him
I evacuated the matter,
completed the circle beyond solitude.
More I did not break the silence
worse was the grief!

Meaningless threats
had no relevance.
I recaptured the color of stars,
glory of flames,
beauty of crucial controversy.

I was repeating the legitimacy
of alphabets.
Greatness was the idea of mediocres.
Every thought had the dignity
of its own!

Fresh Fruits of the Spirit - Peace

Peace

Because we have sought the Lord our God, yearning for Him with all our desire, He has given us rest and peace on every side.
And even when we lie down to sleep, You alone, O Lord, will keep us safe.
2 Chronicles 14: 7; Psalm 4: 8, paraphrased

“When people are saying, all is well and secure, and there is peace and safety, then in a moment unforeseen destruction (ruin and death) will come upon them as suddenly as labor pains come upon a woman with child; and they shall by no means escape, for there will be no escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5: 3, AMP

Dear Lord,
These texts are at opposing ends of the spectrum.
Do we need a reality check?
You promise peace, but there is no peace in this world today…
far cry from it.
Yes, we hear peace phrases spoken by both preachers and politicians,
but according to the last text, there is no peace.
So if there is no peace, how do we get this fruit?

My Child,
The only peace you will ever have is in Me.
This world does not offer peace – though it promises you many things.
Some things are good, but most lead your mind far away
from Truth, and from Me.
Please lean on me. You will never be too heavy for Me to hold.
I have much to teach you; to share with you so you will
be strengthened for troublesome times ahead. Yes, many will cry “peace and safety” from now until I return,
but don’t be misled.
I, alone, Am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
And it is in these three that you will find the
fruit of perfect peace.

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you.”
Isaiah 26: 3, NIV

War is Boredom

War is Boredom

War is Boredom

War can be defined as long periods of boredom, short burst of terror, seemingly lasting forever, To those who are there, Waiting for another outburst, which never seems to cease.
You Pray, you count all your blessings, the outgoing not what you fear, its the incoming that can't be trusted.
War can be defined as boredom, for those who's life was spared, as the days in between that matters, on those who life spent there.

Gina (Limerick)

There once was a sheila named Gina
she would chase from this site a hyena.
So she grabs their small balls
hurls them over the falls
then comes back as a ballerina.

She is good, also fair as a critic
and she hates matters hippocritic
since she likes what I write
and gives others a fright
I would call her brain analytic.

Long ago when I lived in Badena
I was married to Wilhelmina.
But the marriage went bust
no, it didn't lack lust
it is just that I was a Berliner.

Peace

Sweet Peace, where dost thou dwell? I humbly crave,
Let me once know.
I sought thee in a secret cave,
And ask'd, if Peace were there,
A hollow wind did seem to answer, No:
Go seek elsewhere.

I did; and going did a rainbow note:
Surely, thought I,
This is the lace of Peace's coat:
I will search out the matter.
But while I looked the clouds immediately
Did break and scatter.

Then went I to a garden and did spy
A gallant flower,
The crown-imperial: Sure, said I,
Peace at the root must dwell.
But when I digged, I saw a worm devour
What showed so well.

At length I met a rev'rend good old man;
Whom when for Peace

I did demand, he thus began:
There was a Prince of old
At Salem dwelt, who lived with good increase
Of flock and fold.

He sweetly lived; yet sweetness did not save
His life from foes.
But after death out of his grave
There sprang twelve stalks of wheat;
Which many wond'ring at, got some of those
To plant and set.

It prospered strangely, and did soon disperse
Through all the earth:
For they that taste it do rehearse
That virtue lies therein;
A secret virtue, bringing peace and mirth
By flight of sin.

Take of this grain, which in my garden grows,
And grows for you;
Make bread of it: and that repose
And peace, which ev'ry where
With so much earnestness you do pursue,
Is only there.

Herbert

Whilst cleaning out a stable
A was about to light me light
When a voice behind my shoulder
Said “It’s rather cold tonight”

“How do you do”, he said “I’m, Herbert”
then he give his foot a stamp
“I expect this has quite shaken you”
He was right! …A nearly dropped me lamp.

For a start he’d no right talking
A mean he were a Bloody Horse!
And secondly he had real a posh voice
E’ made me sound proper coarse.

“Well” a said “am gobsmacked”
am am not sure what to do
a talking horse named Herbert
A you sure that, that was you?

“Of course not, don’t be silly
But I’ll tell you what you missed
You see that pig behind you
Then he whispered “Ventriloquist”

Well a give the Pig a reet good stare
But he never blinked an eye.
“Herbert art thou takin piss”
and the horse he said “I try”

So it is you that’s bloody talking
But isn’t that’s against the rules?
the Horse just looked straight at me
and you could see him thinking “fool! ”

Now that’s a matter of opinion
As to who’s allowed to talk
I mean you humans just have two legs
But you still allowed to walk.

OK OK I said, a take your point
I suppose it’s really up to you
But for all them years not one horse spoke
Now suddenly “how do you bloody do”

A’ said hang on just a minute Herbert
How come you picked today?
Oh it was by way of an experiment
Just to see what you would say.

On reflection though a little rash
Perhaps not the thing to do
Mankind is just not ready yet
If I am to judge by you

Well you’ve blown you cover big style
Of that there’s little doubt
A talking horse called Herbert
just wait ‘til this gets out

So you met a talking horse did you?
Now who’ll believe the truth
I mean once this conversations over
Think carefully, where’s you proof

The Horse he looked around him
The he eyed the pig as well.
“He’s your only real eye witness
And who’s the Pig about to tell”

Mississippi Limerick

On the raft down the Mississippi
were the wife and her husband Hippie.
When they brought back the melons
from the striped, shackled felons
they soon sank and the water was nippy.

But they had, for the voyage, prepared
and that is why both of them fared
rather well in the end
and this limerick was penned
so the story could truly be shared.
