Paved Over! Cemented
What steps have you taken,
To prove that you've made them?
Are the volume of your complaints,
Stored for future documentary?
Is the importance of your disapproval,
Strong enough to withstand the winds of time?
Will minds like yours today,
Find themselves praised tomorrow?
In a collective raised contribution.
Or will that hole you dig be dug so deep in sorrow...
Be paved over!
Cemented.
And the existence you believed lived,
Has too long bee dismissed...
To be reminisced as one remembered.
By anyone assigned to research,
These mindless mundane times now experienced.
And the sacrificing of common sense,
With an absence of forgiveness...
Has becomes as mechanical,
As the expression of someone's devotion to caring.
And the only one can do to compensate for one's loss...
Is to shake one's head.
What steps have you taken,
To prove that you've made them?
To leave cemented.

Tom-ed
Made...
They did,
Fortunes!
Off the backs...
Of those praised,
For representing a splendid ignorance!
To keep those of phased-out minds,
In exterior peacock mode!
Hob-nobbing with rich and influenced folks.
Hip-hopped out of these crucial times.
At least...
In accordance with some who find them,
Quite self serving and assinine!
One comes along,
With credentials excellent!
Educated, well spoken...
And comprehending with intelligence.
A combination that threatens,
Those who are 'monied densed'!
And all huddle together,
To demean him...
With their version of common sense!
Publicly setting out to prove...
A disapproval,
Can keep that one man 'tom-ed'!
Hoping to hear him cry 'uncle! '
But this one has no relationship to that!
He is Barack!
And will leave them all to be...
Barack Obamatomed!

Mistakes Are Expected To Be Made
Would it be worth it to reverse and redo,
Those mistakes I've made along the way?
For purposes to correct,
What today I am better to convey?
With a maturity that is assured.
And with a humility I've learned to display?
Many times I have thought about this.
As I reminisced those lessons,
I should have grasped but dismissed.
And IF it was a possibility,
To correct and perfect my blemishes...
Flaws and imperfections,
Others inspected and criticized!
My life would not be as fulfilling.
Since my time would be occupied...
With making excuses and creating alibis.
And I would have been limited to sit in fear.
And I thank God,
It was not the fear of obstacles...
That have kept my steps blessed.
It was faith and prayer that made me aware...
I was just one of many artists,
Assigned to do my part...
To add onto this living canvas,
We've come to call life to live and give.
And mistakes are expected to be made.
With attempts in the wrong direction,
Only God forgives if we ask of Her or Him...
Or Both,
To be forgiven!

Narrow Vision Gone
You complicated...
A basicness of life,
We lived.
Whether you had meant it.
It now has been cemented.
And you often found...
A reason to persist,
With this!
Whether you had meant it.
It now has been cemented.
And I feel inside,
It is better just to leave you alone.
With your narrow vision...
Gone!
And I feel inside,
It is better just to leave you alone.
And not condone your moans.
You complicated...
A basicness of life,
We lived.
Whether you had meant it.
It now has been cemented.
And you often found...
A reason to persist,
With this!
And I don't want to listen 'cause...
I feel inside,
It is better just to leave you alone.
And not condone your moans.
I feel inside,
It is better just to leave you alone.
With your narrow vision gone!
Whether you had meant it.
It now has been cemented.
I feel inside,
It is better just to leave you alone.
With your narrow vision gone!
Whether you had meant it.

Back From A Morning Walk
i
it is earlier today.
4: 04 in the morning
on a walk
towards the college
oval beside
a gym
(i counted the steps
14 in all
from the basement
some finches
hang on the
cracks of
its cement walls)
ii
i made six rounds
walking
abreast steadily
mindless
about my surroundings
wilted
grass on the side
of the pavement
when the clouds turned
gray and
the atmosphere
dimmed
like a night study lamp
in my room
when i was too
sleepy
to notice the hours
then the rain began
to fall
and i ran as fast
as i could
to take shelter
under a
cemented roof
the gym as i told
you beforehand
iii
then there was this
old man
with a long white beard
wearing
sporty pants
and nike shoes
and seated on one
of the stairs
looking far
waiting for the rain
to stop
iv
i was behind him
a few steps away
and we were not talking
because the rain
was already falling
so hard
that i could no longer
hear the sounds of the
birds grouping
themselves
on the cracks of the
walls
v
i never felt lonelier
than ever before

Vivid Clarity: These Steps I Take
It is the 'who' in me pursued.
Appearing as I do before you...
Without references!
Either those accepted or dismissed.
And depending on your beliefs...
I was 'somewhere' in the heavens,
And 'asked' for this existence.
Whether or not that is true,
I am going to do my best...
To ensure my presence has been felt.
Suggestions given may come after I ask.
I am not seeking charity,
From those on goodwill missions...
Out to prove they have been chosen,
To condition minds...
With a conformed environment as the agenda.
'Peace my brother!
Have you been introduced to the Lord? '
These steps I have taken,
Were made on scraped knees and bruised feet.
Faith, hope and confidence arrived...
To discover me in doubt.
I ain't there no 'mo!
Vivid is my clarity.
These steps I take...
Only God knows what it took to make them.
Yes...
I know the Lord.
If you knew Him you would not have asked me that.
Vivid is my clarity.
These steps I take...
Only God knows what it took to make them.
Yes...
I know the Lord.
If you knew Him you would not have asked me that.
However,
I can tell by your eyes,
This is a fresh discovery?
With a desire to share!
And, I have been there.
I was born to chew, digest and enjoy the scenery!
Not to be caught up and lost in it.
Or bleed dramatically in public.
Without sound of applause.
I use to be shocked...
By the lack of sincere empathy unseen.
Observe. Experience. Feel!
And leave behind appropriate recommendations.
That is my assignment.
Someone, somewhere...
Will eventually find themselves exploring life,
Oppose to hoping for clues to magically appear...
Out of thin air.
With vivid clarity,
Are those steps I take!
And I didn't just awaken.
I began chipping away at obstacles,
When it became apparent...
My tears would not dissolve them!
Observe. Experience. Feel!
And leave behind appropriate recommendations.
That is my assignment.

Not Experienced
Deciding to finally be direct...
After years of beating around the bush,
May be a refreshing step for you.
With a mind hesitating,
In an outdated point of view.
But for those who now could care less...
What from them you expect.
Your steps taken,
To see the forest 'and' its trees...
Has left you alone,
In a reality once accepted...
As those observations,
Came then too quick.
To take as they were.
Inspect and leave.
Since for many what you perceive,
Is a reality lived,
And gone as it was believed.
What 'was' no longer exists.
Today changes have become,
Complexed.
And in these times that continue on...
You may find what's next for you too perplexed,
For someone like you...
Who's not experienced in being direct.
You will find that reality you have has gone.

Features of the Future
I'm closer to the future
Than I was yesterday.
The highway of the future
Is in each break of day.
I frame my future
By the decisions I make.
I encounter the future
If diligent steps I take.
Plans for the future
I made in the past.
Today I face the future
Yet it won't last.
Depending on the future
Is so inefficient.
Because the so-called future
Is vague and transcient!
'you'll live well in the future
if the present is well lived! ! '

Are You Experienced?
If you can just get your mind together
Uh-then come on across to me
Well hold hands and then well watch the sunrise
From the bottom of the sea
But first, are you experienced?
Uh-have you ever been experienced-uh?
Well, I have
(well) I know, I know, youll probably scream and cry
That your little world wont let you go
But who in your measly little world, (-uh)
Are you tryin to prove to that youre
Made out of gold and-uh, cant be sold
So-uh, are you experienced?
Have you ever been experienced? (-uh)
Well, I have
Uh, let me prove it to you, yeah
Trumpets and violins I can-uh, hear in the distance
I think theyre callin our name
Maybe now you cant hear them,
But you will, ha-ha, if you just
Take hold of my hand
Ohhh, but are you experienced?
Have you ever been experienced?
Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful

With Time Given To Whine and Pass Their Judgements
What annoys me most,
Are those folks who instigate.
The ones who assess others,
As doing 'nothing' for them.
Or anyone else.
And they leave no trail of evidence,
Of any attempts they've made.
To initiate the doing of anything for themselves.
And quick they are to become angered,
If what others do does not focus with a priority.
A sacrificial giving,
To the ones sitting to mouth their complaints.
With time given to whine and pass their judgements.
While their behinds have cemented imprints upon chairs.

Inspired By Motivation To Move
Take it.
Strap to straddle,
Or carry on your back.
Don't look up or around.
Adjust the weight if you must.
Get acquainted with your struggle.
If what is packed,
Has been discovered on your path to add?
There is no need to ask for understanding.
Or waste a bit of time trying to be understood.
No one will.
No one could.
Every obstacle and task,
To be experienced on your journey...
Will have no one's concern but yours.
Just like your birth made with announcement...
And first steps taken you took,
Required your desire to light your own fire.
Inspired by motivation to move.
That's why that light inside you yearns,
To choose...
And do,
To prove...
You will and can if you decide,
Your life can not be lived by anyone better!

Uninvolved But With Kept Expectations
Few doubters are left sitting on any fence,
Unconvinced...
Cemented ideals can and will be bulldozed.
And whatever has not been put into practice,
Gets the ax.
Today...
This is not just an opinion.
Today this is a fact!
Pouters and mumblers can take two giant steps,
Backward with the others...
Who have spent their lives,
Living in a 'they' and a 'them' mentality.
Few doubters are left sitting on any fence,
Unconvinced...
Cemented ideals can and will be bulldozed.
A hand reaching to leech from the sidelines,
Uninvolved but with kept expectations...
Discovers,
Eventually...
How quickly to others it can disappear.
It is suggested,
That the inhalation done with deepened breaths...
The scent of reality,
Will quicken one's awakening...
From the strongholding grasp of delusion.

Obscenities Triggered
I've made no pledge with no one,
To stay and remain on edge.
Or become upset,
As a sign to gratify someone's expectation.
To later regret obscenities triggered...
By a blurted thoughtlessness.
For purposes a fool made too late reconsiders.
Sitting on stoops made for fools,
Is no longer my ambition to prove I can do it!
I have,
However...
Taken steps to check myself.
And let what disturbs me,
Correct itself.
To leave those who bait reactions,
Find others who are easily heated to snap back.

Run Away
(eric carmen)
She was just an average blue-eyed
Golden high school dream
An illusion nothing real could ever touch
Funny love seemed so much more intense
At seventeen
When I knew shed never love me
Half as much
I recall the desperate vow I made
I must find a way somehow to win her heart
Ive got to make her mine
Gonna run away
Till I prove that Im a man
Gonna run away
Be the best I know I can
Got to run away
Got to find my space and time
And I cannot rest a day until I make her mine
Trades were made for promises
Of a timeless memory
And I knew but still refused to comprehend
The fantasy more glamorous
Then she could ever be
Was the course of least resistance
In the end
I recall the desperate vow I made
I must find a way somehow to win her heart
Ive got to make her mine
Gonna run away
Till I prove that Im a man
Gonna run away
Be the best I know I can
Got to run away
Got to find my space and time
And I cannot rest a day until I make her mine
Long ago an innocence
Lived deep within my soul
In a yesterday where love
And dreams remain
But disillusion clouds my eyes
And the winter takes its toll
For the spring has gone
And will not come again
I recall the desperate vow I made
I must find a way somehow to win her heart
Ive got to make her mine
Gonna run away
Till I prove that Im a man
Gonna run away
Be the best I know I can
Got to run away
Got to find my space and time
And I cannot rest a day until I make her mine
Got to run away
Got to find my space and time
And I cannot rest a day until I make her mine

Memories
Memories
Fading pictures of the past
Destroyed by time
All that's happened
All that was
And right now
Is gone before
Our minds can
Comprehend
We only remember what
Truly stands out
In our lives
Or something that has
Shaped who we are
Or changed a point of view
Other things are locked away
Seldom to be remembered
Reminisced
Every passing second
We remember a little more
About our past
Because we just lived it
As quick as it's there
It disappears twice as fast
But it leaves imprints
Sometimes very visible
Other times not so much
Memories are gate ways
Into our experiences
And lessons learned
To simply help us
In the future that
We'er in right now

Long live America
triumphantly they shout, jubilantly they celebrate, joyfully
they sing their voice of praises and thanks, its a day and
a moment, to remember that the nation has come together
to face the new challenge of a new America
it is a call to victory, all are winners, all are beginners, to a
new vision of what awaits to the American people in the
high way of change, for every one holds a breath of history,
a chapter in every pages of life, in search to a prosperous,
nation
dream are only a dreams, shackle in the ecstasy of memories,
just always remembered, our dear forefather for they believed
of what they envision of the future, their hearts leads us to
conquer of what is today and now is the moment to grasp, of
what is time in our hands
today is the future that holds, and tomorrow is the day to stay,
live it today for this future lies only in our hands, a lesson to
know that yesterday is just a steps for to day's to come
long live AMERICA, there is only one America to live, like
America, a home that every one is free, a nation that God
will find its way, to be bless through out eternity

A free hand
I have alloweed free hand to friends
As they stand by and beautiful messages always send
What do they try to prove me as an individual?
It is real feeling and not casual
There is still something hidden in heart
I fear somethiung may happen at the start
Will they come on my way and obstruct?
Will they unnecessarily advise and instruct?
I am so much attached to their presence
I sometimes do miss their absence
Is it true feeling wth its essence?
They relieve my pain when I am so much tense
This is one aspect and rules the scene
I wish to continue and am very keen
But I have some other priorities too
They are equally inportant and true
I feel it may detract my steps
Their atachmenet may prove as trap
It will be hinderence to what I think
It may take me down and sink
I can’t allow them to cross my way
They should reasonably kept away
I have clear perception in mind
I may go positively for it to find
It may leave some bad remark
But I got to over come and embark
I will have to separate frienship and ship
I am the only person to sail or dip
It may prove hazardous or smooth
It may still speak the truth
This was purely my humble adventure
I had set it and seen the future
I may go down or sail through
Friends may try to rescue too
It will be still called a personal victory
I shall be able to raise the head without feeling sorry

Without Options To Use
Some who have had structured destinies,
Have had them in place...
Long before decisions were made,
By others who believed...
One needed to have a specific quality.
Enhanced by the awarding of a college degree.
To prove an acceptance given has been granted.
This is a myth to advantage institutions,
With an ability to charge higher fees they get.
And to leave few to benefit without options to use.
Or common sense that is less expensive
One can not sit and be taught that in any school.
Since one is already equipped with the tools,
They are born to be blessed with.

This before
I never missed you this before
Though number times I felt very sore
It was troubling me at night
When I was in doubt to be right
I had loved you very much through out life
It was my desire and strong belief
I was always up with head high
As I was cared by you with pride
I would miss those harsh words
Full of love and commands from lords
How can I forget those stories told?
When sleep was gripping and I was unable to hold
Today I am where I deserve not to be there
You would be feeling it some where
It was your dedicate effort and move
That made me worth while to prove
I shall never forget those happy moments
When you were totally with my movements
Loss or gain, sorrow or joy never mattered
Impossible or beyond control was never uttered
Today me heart feels apart
It was unbearable when you chose to depart
It was His wish and desire
I miss it dad and sincerely admire
I pursue it with zest and zeal
I try to make it real and feel
Still those long arms can not hearten
As you were always patting me all of sudden
From my childhood I was loved most
You may lift me from ground and boost
“Here you see jewel of my crown”
He will rule the land and become known
I eagerly waited when returned from the school
I used to search all places like fool
You were not to be seen any where till late night
I may rush blindly to you and start to fight
All my progress cards were consciously screened
All mistakes and future action was outlined
He would always want to visit school and apprise
All he could not do it to visit in surprise
He nurtured me from all the angles
I used to be taken in the near by jungles
All monkeys, cats and were no threat at all
I climbed on little tress as done on the wall
We never dreamed you would leave us soon
You tired desperately for help in the noon
We all rushed to find you in lying on floor
You were with eyes wide open and looking at the door
I was made stubborn as from steel metal
Your departure was about to prove fatal
Ever though we recovered from the rude shock
Time did not stop for anybody in the clock

Like the Rusting Does
The foundation laid for this creation is deep.
While some snore away their time...
Others find none to nod.
Or a wink of sleep to tease,
What is needed to be done!
Some will never know what it takes,
Or the sacrifices made...
To break free and shake loose,
From petty excuses heard...
To pleasure the thoughts of one to do nothing!
There are too many steps to take,
To shake away barriars prior to attempting to succeed
At success.
Too many obstacles to face in fear to get over.
Too many alone moments in cold sweats.
Uncertain if decisions made will bring happiness,
Or regrets!
And too many excuses heard...
By someone who pesters,
The movement of one's forward steps.
But not letting an upsetting collect dust...
Like the rusting does under annoying fakers,
Wishing to trip up one's quickly paced stride!

Future course
We never thought of future course
We had some ideas of course
She was outspoken and straight
She never believed in luck or fate
I was over influenced and stayed with her
She was smart enough to woo and create terror
She will frighten to leave me alone but cool down easily
As it was her nature to be flown in course readily
It was meeting point between us and continued
She was equivalent in all the respect and never got subdued
She will prove her point and leave open some space
I would agree to her for everything as I was never in race
It is human nature to find suitable partner
As it is likely to happen sooner or alter
One wants companion in all the time to come
Ready to share everything with open arms to welcome
She is not unkind at all but with mild aggression
Put all question straight and ask for confession
I would not resist her attempt and reply to full satisfaction
She will then burst into big smile and give its indication
I was offering prayers to almighty for this mission
I had made enough of mistakes but made sincere confession too
I felt that her entry was direct outcome of blessings
She had also made it clear that nothing will go as missing
I have consented to her wishes and fall in line
I am of the firm opinion that it is all divine
The union of two people is decided by sacred power
Many may realize it in later life and experienced by fewer
"I will not hesitate to leave you" she will bombard
I shall still shake head in disbelief and look forward
To ascertain whether she was cutting joke or serious
Later on I may find that she was impatient and jealous
I am much confident of myself and finally assert
She has to fall in line with me and can never think to desert
I am her only choice and she knows it for sure
I take her hand, tap it gently and doubly assure
