Passing Over Chapters
I know...
You want me to feel
That superiority you believe you have,
Over me!
I know...
That has to feel traumatic.
I'm not allowing you to jump ecstatically in the air.
Showing my awareness of limitations I've been sold!
I can't blame my parents for that lack of insight.
They were too busy showing my sisters and me,
How to survive with pride and dignity.
And somehow when you became the topic...
They had nothing to say!
Some lessons aren't meant to be taught,
To everyone passing over chapters of subservience!

Just showing me...

Just showing me..

Of the computer screens
Showing me the colors
Showing me the smiles
Showing me the love

It is only the glass... I can touch...!

Thanks For Being You
Thanks for giving me joys and smiles
Thanks for sharing my trouble's pile
Thanks for wipeing the tears of my eye
Thanks for showing me the glad view of sky
Thanks for lending me your shoulders to lean
Thanks for giving my words a proper mean
Thanks for telling me the value of life
Thanks for showing me the rules to survive
Thanks for lending me the sympathetic ears
Thanks for showing how much you care
From all this what I mean in the end
Is thanks for being my special friend.

About Survival And Life
There are so many things I have learned,
About survival and life and healing from pain.
I've learned that those who ignore,
Others doing their best to painfully survive...
Will eventually learn a few lessons themselves.
And for some who shun others as an expectation,
Especially those...
Unaccustomed to being shunned themselves,
The pain to them that comes will be incredible.
Although...
An adjustment aided by one's hindsight often helps.
Allowing lessons as lessons are to be taught and learned,
No matter how difficult the acceptance is....
To provide just the right amount of significant influence.

Letting go of the bad and showing the world who i am
I am tired of feeling hurt
I am tired of feeling used
I am tired of feeling unworth
I am letting go of you
I am letting go of pain
I am letting go of shame
I am letting go of darkness
I am letting go of bitterness
I am letting go of all the bad and only waiting for the good
I am taking in the light and coming out from underneath my hood
I will show the world my eyes and my smile
I am showing the world My laughter and ability to be wild
I am showing the world its wrong and that I will go on
I am showing the world I am in control
I am showing the world all the things i'm letting go
I am showing the world my joy and my tears
I am showing the world my screams and my fears
I am showing the world who i am and where I've been
I am showing the world all that i can
I will show the world who i am inside and out
I will show the world i don't care if its me they talk about

Hey, dad.
Hey dad, thanks for showing me you don’t really care.
And thanks for saying you won’t always be there.
And hey dad, thanks for showing me what I’m really worth
And always making me feel like dirt
Hey dad, thanks for being fair,
And telling me nether you or the world care
Hey dad thanks for telling me I’m worth shi t,
At the same time everyone else did
Hey dad, thanks for hearing me cry,
And never even caring why
Hey dad, thanks for seeing I hurt,
And still decide to treat me like dirt
Hey dad thank you for being hard,
And always playing the “bad seed” card.
Hey dad, thanks for the good work ethic.
And telling me everyone else can f it.
Also, telling me no boy wont like me more.
For what’s on the outside, for being a whore.
Hey dad, thanks for showing me work
Is more important then the children your wife birthed
Hey dad, I changed my mind.
Forget what I said, I wont try to be kind.
You get into my mind, you wont win this time.
I’ll tell you the truth, I’ll tell you for real
And hopefully this time, you’ll feel what we feel.

Ashamed
i feel alone... i feel like i could die
i feel alone... i feel like i could die... tonight
carry on carry on
don't feel ashamed.. don't feel ashamed
i rather it be this way
you're not to blame you're not to blame
don't feel ashamed
i'm getting close...
to the other side
just close the door
i'll leave the past behind me
can you see my pride
it's only one step away from
freedom... freedom...
i feel i can fly anywhere with anyone
don't feel ashamed
i rather it be this way
you're not to blame
don't feel ashamed
don't feel ashamed
i rather it be this way
you're not to blame
don't feel ashamed
i love you baby... so don't you feel ashamed!!

America's Pride
America’s pride is growing.
America’s pride is showing.
Flags I see—it seems everywhere.
But were they always there?
Somehow, we didn’t seem to care.
On September 11, it all changed so fast.
And the memories of that day will forever last.
It seemed to be just another day.
We’d all be up and be on our way.
But then out of nowhere, death came from the sky,
And we watched in horror as we saw people die.
Suddenly America’s pride became anew.
Everywhere I look I see the red, white and blue.
Now we’re fighting a people we don’t understand
And sending our planes to a far distant land.
America’s pride is growing.
America’s pride is showing.

Grew To Believe
I did not awaken with dreams to write.
Or decide I was creative.
I awakened each day trying to fight it,
This appetite I had.
Especially when I thought that I had,
Something I should not want to have.
Few people I knew were encouraged to express,
An acceptance of their gifts.
I grew up in the projects.
And those who were 'different' were made to feel it.
Few people I knew were encouraged to express,
A happiness with talents they possessed.
With a gladness from others...
Who did not address an envy with a jealousness.
But a showing of a knowing that I knew,
Grew...
Inside of me.
Yes,
A showing of a knowing that I knew...
Grew!
A showing of a knowing that I knew,
Grew...
Inside of me.
Yes,
A showing of a knowing that I knew...
Grew,
To believe.
I did not awaken with dreams to write.
Or decide I was creative.
I awakened each day trying to fight it,
This appetite I had.
But...
A showing of a knowing that I knew,
Grew...
Inside of me.
Yes,
A showing of a knowing that I knew...
Grew,
To believe.
A showing of a knowing that I knew,
Grew...
Inside of me.
A showing of a knowing that I knew...
Grew,
To believe.

It Aint No Big Thing
It ain't no big thing
A & n merrit/hall
You're losing interest in me, and it's showing.
It ain't not big thing but it's growing.
The pain of heartbreak i've just starting knowing.
It ain't not big thing but it's growing.
Everyday the hurt grows bigger than before.
But i'll pretend that i don't notice,
If i can hold you one day more.
You got the look of someone who is going.
You're gonna leave me and it's showing.
A little tear i can feel, start to flowing.
It ain't not big thing but it's growing.
You got the look of someone who is going.
You're gonna leave me and it's showing.
A little tear i can feel, start to flowing.
It ain't not big thing but it's growing.
It ain't not big thing but it's growing.

This Poem Is My Worse Effort
This poem is my worse effort.
I decided to write a 'bad' poem.
Something self contained.
Something from my point of view...
Would be absent of compassion.
Clearly focused on nothing.
A complete lack of acknowledgement.
Line after line...
With or without rhyme,
Would display a total self involvement.
An intention meant to leave one realizing...
This poem is my worse effort.
I want it to be just that!
No ifs, ands, or buts about it!
And...
While we are on the topic of butts!
WHY are the guys showing their asses,
More than women these days?
What's that about?
I saw this dude with his pants belted at his thighs...
YES!
And I was on a bus sitting with a woman,
Looking at me as if I had something to do with that!
YES!
So I asked if she found him appealing?
She said, 'NO! He's got no ass to be admired! '
YES!
She said that.
As if I should show my ass for a comparison competition!
WHAT on EARTH is happening?
I will 'not' publicly prove that my ass is my best asset.
WHAT is going on in these times today?
This poem is my worse effort.
And 'if' you think it's not...
Do not feel I did not have good intentions,
To deliver something to you guaranteed to smell...
If up close and personal.

Words can't say enough….(Thank you)
Thank you….
I now feel strong because I had someone to pick me up when I was down
Thank you….
For being there when others looked down on me
Thanks you….
Because you never gave up on me
Thank you....
For showing that there is a difference between right and wrong
Thank you….
For helping me, put my shattered heart back to together
Thank you….
For giving me a second chance in life
Thank you….
For showing that things happen for a reason
Thank you….
For helping me fix a broken life
Thank you….
I can see now these things called happiness and love
Thank you
Words can't say enough of how I feel about you

Pungent and pleasant it is.
Pungent and pleasant it is.
Asking pardon from pressure is
Swallowing one’s pride; pungent.
Showing power from position is
Showing one’s pride; pleasant.
To swallow it is as much pungent
As to show it is pleasant.

Would You Believe?
(ferry)
Would you believe in what I do
When the things that I make are all for you?
And in a while ill come to you
Showing showing why what I think will all come true
Well im sure ill love you all my life
And in the morning too
Everything you have is out of sight
But baby I can see through you
And in a while ill come to you
Showing showing why what I think will all come true
Would, would you believe in what I do
When the things that I make are all for you?

In A Combo State Of Mind
How do I feel,
About what has been done?
And who did what to who and why?
Who deceived and who told lies...
And who denied with alibis?
I'm not surprised by the showing of your interest.
I feel this...
May they get what they deserve.
And may it be served as it was presented and dished.
May those involved find it to their taste.
With an acknowledgement that what one puts out...
It will return to the doer to have the doer remembering the deed.
How do I feel,
About what has been done?
I have no regrets.
I am not the doer to receive,
A retrieving done of a passing along of misdeeds.
Of course I am feeling blessed and pleased.
You can say I'm in a combo state of mind.
You know...
I want to sing AND dance with a bit of grinning too!

Something About Insight, Intuition and Awareness
There is something about insight, intuition and awareness
That can not be taught.
Like common sense is not a family trait.
It is either there or it isn't.
Experience in observation seems to be a prerequisite.
And some folks are born to walk around,
With their heads in the clouds.
I have actually had conversations,
With those who can lie easily with a straight face.
And then embellish that with something else.
Not aware they do not have to split their lips...
Before my radar detects dishonesty about to arrive.
Dressed elegantly in full BS.
There is something about insight, intuition and awareness...
That uplifts a consciousness that is far less expensive,
Than daydreaming during a college lecture.
And much more adventurous,
Than sitting to listen to a professor's drone!
Trust me.
Been there/done that!
It just amazes me people with college degrees,
And thousands of dollars still owed on loans...
Don't have a dropp of common sense!
If I was the one paying...
I would sue!
Or demand my money back for malpractice.
The expectation and what has been accomplished,
Just does not provide the balance.
Can you 'feel' me on this?

Somebodys Gotta Feel This
I used to party with the betties on the lower east side
Never drop top forty cause I always rock b-sides
G-rides with a hundred spokes to match
We roll two deep...three freaks...four amps in the back
I kicked that crack game rap game now I let my axe bang
Livin in sin and its a beautiful thing
I wanna twang like hang...rock like roll
Got soul like stevie when Im under the sun and so
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
I never had a lot of money never made much sense
Been chasin bunnies like a dummy overlookin my rent
He spent every rent cent puttin hickeys on his bed
Hes rockin dickies slippin lickin honeys steady
Lookin for love I put my talent on hold
Told my soul to glow it said get up and go
And so I packed my bags with a whole lot of realness
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
I see these people makin money and its funny to me
Tryin to act that fresh I wish theyd bump into me
cause it aint nothing to me want to eat a little more
Taste a little bit pride from every drink that I pour
Ive been a whore for years showing love to my peers
Never sold for any less than what I see in the mirror
Steer wide to avoid the blows Ive been dealt
Let the six strings ride when the twelves are felt
So when you see me tuggin on the end of my roap
You better raise up or duck when I reach in my coat because
Somebodys gotta feel this
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
Someones got to feel this
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
Somebodys gotta feel this
Someones got to feel this
Feel this

Gloom
Do you feel sorrowful? I sometimes do,
When busy thought tells me the sufferings
Of some in our south land. Their brows are not
So fair as thine, by much, but yet they are
Our sisters, for the mighty God hath given
To them the boon of an immortal soul.
Yet they are made through life's long years to toil,
Scourge-driven like the brute; and with the fine
And delicate pulses of a human heart,
Stirring to anguish in their bosoms, sold!
Ay, like the meanest household chattel, sold!
Vended from hand to hand, while with each wrench
Their torn hearts bleed at every throbbing pore.
Alas! how can I but feel sorrowful,
To think upon their woes?

Heat And Ice Could Together Dwell
I may come to feel it but never come to say,
How others feel about what I do...
They have a choice to accept or refuse,
If they choose.
And that depends on what is done.
And if it is done with an intent.
If I am responding to a specific action,
Then what I choose to do is direct and meant.
Oh I can be arrogant and I can be rude.
I can be tempermental and give attitude too.
I can be distant and be cold as hell.
Even though I've never understood how heat and ice,
Could together dwell.
And that depends on what is done.
And if it is done with an intent.
If I am responding to a specific action,
Then what I choose to do is direct and meant.
I may come to feel it but never come to say,
How others feel about what I do...
They have a choice to accept or refuse,
If they choose.
But when I'm pushed to the limit I can freeze and steam.
With a melting to eventually thaw,
To become someone's manipulated putty!
Showing a protective crust although within a soften dough.
And I hate it when its known I just puff to blow smoke.

Chromosomes
There seems to be
Such an immaturity
When sexuality becomes a topic.
Being a lesbian or homosexual
Ignites an exciting conversation...
Of those who accept or oppose.
And the nonsense about this...
Everyone has both male and female,
Chromosomes!
Chromos aren't we all?
Being battered by a childish stuntedness.
Some do their best to give 'straightness'
Their 'testless' appearance.
Showing their frustrations...
Going through dating contests.
It's all quite funny,
To even think sex is sold for money.
And the importance that it is given...
When who cares who gives away what to whom?
If that wasn't done no one would be here!
Especially those who go through the motions...
Denying their 'chromos' are in the atmosphere.
And believe they qualify to give their opinion,
About who 'is' and who 'isn't.
When they have not committed to anyone,
Who wishes to have them around!
It's unbelievable this ignorance still exists!
They have no spouses.
Never been married...legally.
No significant other who would bother.
And there to say who is straight or gay!
Hoping an aging process slows...
As to allow their curiousities to manifest a taste!
In some darkened place!
But still they wont admit to being 'chromos'!

I Feel It
Album: True Love (1999)
it's been a while
come on, come on
it's alright, i feel it
i've been tied down
come on, come on
it's alright, i feel it
why do i have this doubt?
come on, come on
it's alright, i feel it
why do i have this doubt?
come on, come on
it's alright, i feel it
if i survive this i'm gonna take new stand
i'd do anything just to feel the sweet touch of the hand
honey stand by your man
tell me again
come on, come on
it's alright, i feel it
why do i fear so much?
come on, come on
it's alright, i feel it
if i survive this i'm going down and pray
i know i have it in me, i will hurt you so bad if i stay
do you really want it this way?
they're the same, they're the same
they're all the same with the static faces
the slitted wrists and the fame
and only themselves to blame
and if faith means trust, there's no faith in me
and i need noone, as noone needs me
it's alright, i feel it
it's alright, i feel it
if i survive this i'm gonna take new stand
i'd do anything just to feel the sweet touch of the hand
oh honey stand by your man
and if faith means trust, there's no faith in me
and i need noone, noone needs me
it's alright, i feel it
it's alright, i feel it
it's alright, i feel it
it's alright, i feel it
